"Heavenly Father, we ask your special guidance this week in mobilizing our nations to build a wall of prayer around North America's military forces, their leaders, our veterans, and their families. Help Christians in the militaries of Canada, the Caribbean, and the USA be transformed by the renewing of their minds, so that they can know how to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to those around them."

WEEK OF PRAYER

The vice president of the Association of Military Christian Fellowships (AMCF) for the North American region (US, Canada, & non-Spanish speaking Caribbean countries) has set 22-28 January 2012 as a Time of Prayer and Fasting for military personnel, veterans, and their families. He asks that churches, chaplains, para-churches, military Christian fellowships, and other groups of believers devote some or all of their regular meetings this week to prayer and fasting for military families.

He also encourages those who are so moved to organize special prayer events in their homes, churches, and communities, such as community hours of prayer; 24/7 prayer vigils for military families; using social media to encourage others to become involved in praying for military members, veterans, and their families; and other activities which will serve to build a wall of prayer around the military community.
