With all the competition and the harsh economy, the need for businesses to have the upper hand is getting increasingly important. More and more businesses are taking advantage of internet marketing and blogging to promote their businesses. Internet marketing is used to reach large amounts of customers, and blogging is used to make their businesses more personable.

One company that specializes in internet marketing for dentists is The SEM Firm. Their site emphasizes the importance of online marketing for dental practices . With all the competition in the dental industry, it is important to set up an online presence. The SEM Firm talks about search engine optimization and getting to the top of the search engines. This is one of the most important parts of internet marketing for dentists. Setting up an online presence for business isn’t always a simple task.

The SEM firm also discusses Google Maps and Yahoo! Business Listings. With so many different angles, The SEM Firm seems like a great choice for online marketing for dental practices. Using internet marketing intelligently can bring more customers to your dental office. The best part is it can bring you more customers for a cheap price. The internet is so widely used today, it would be a bad business decision not to take full advantage of it.

“…

Buy traditional CPM advertisements - Very steep learning curve and tough to initially profit from. Most ad agencies have very high minimum buys, and the majority of internet users are now blind to banners. If you have the resources to spend time and money testing before profiting, it can work.

Send PPC traffic directly to the merchant - Easy to get started with because no website is required, minimal startup capital is needed, and traffic can be highly targetted. This is the best method for beginners without web development knowledge because it allows them to test the waters without investing too much time and money.

Send PPC traffic to a landing page - Has more potential and stability than direct to merchant PPC marketing because you control the website and have the ability to add value for visitors…”

Another way I make money online besides internet marketing is through online poker. Online poker is one of my favorite hobbies and you can make a nice bit of cash on the side if you get good at it. Online Casino Bluebook is a great site to check out if you’re looking for reviews and sign up bonuses on different online casino rooms. There are a lot of premium Online Poker Rooms out there besides PokerStars. I play on a handful of different poker sites so I can take advantage of all the different freerolls and other promotions.

Online Casino Bluebook also has an extensive list of No Deposit Casinos so you can get to playing quickly with little or no money. The casinos are rated and the amount of free money that you get is even noted.

I like the fact that it is simple and easy to navigate through the Top Online Casinos . There’s not a bunch of annoying flash banners all over the site, which many other casino websites have. I just see the information that is important to me.

So if you’re not sure where to start playing Online Poker and slots, or you just want to take advantage of some bonuses, take a look at Online Casino Bluebook.

I tested a few of my sites to see how Google would respond to adding a long list of keywords in the meta tags and on the page itself (a different color than the background and the same color as the background). This was just done for educational purposes to see what the engine responds to .

Anyways these are the results that I got:

1. Spammed keywords in meta - did not drop my sites very much if at all in Google, but didn’t help bring in more traffic via search results.
2. Spammed keywords on the page but visible - this caused the rankings on my sites to drop a couple hundred ranks, but it popped back up a couple of days after I removed them.

I’ve been trying out AuctionAds on some of my entertainment sites and I have noticed two things:

1. The Click Throught Rate is great, I’m seeing way more clicks than I did with Adsense. Also, when I had both of them on the same site having AuctionAds didn’t decrease the amount of clicks I was already getting with Adsense. Kind of like Kontera + Adsense.

2. None of the clicks were actually making me any money. I guess the traffic isn’t in ‘buy mode’ enough even though I was displaying cell phones and other items that I thought would appeal to the entertainment crowd.

I do like what AuctionAds has to offer and will continue to test them, but on sites in another area.

Check out what Zac Johnson’s results were with AuctionAds .

I read a lot of different blogs around the net to learn more about affiliate marketing, SEO, PPC, etc. But no blog has taught me more than the Shoemoney blog.

Why is this? This is because a couple of reasons.

The author of the blog is Jeremy Schoemaker, who is one of the most successful Search Engine Marketing experts around.

Because of all the success, Jeremy can afford to share information through his blog and not be threatened by the competition it may bring.

Honesty.

I take a look at just about all his posts, but some are more useful to internet marketers than others. Jeremy goes over cloaking and Google’s Quality score which was a huge blow to a lot of affiliate marketers. He also explains why affiliates are so important to merchants today. Another article that got lots of link and digg love was his prediction on why Microsoft will acquire Yahoo in 2007 where he throws up a lot of valid reasons. The SERPS Tool also rocks.

Not only is there a blog, but there is also a podcast by Shoemoney where he shares tons a valuable info. This is partially because they are unscripted, so many questions are on the spot. The name of the podcast is Net Income, and I do recommend it to anyone in the internet marketing game. He picks the brains of many experts on the show, and he has more than 20 shows so that should keep anyone busy for a while.

Lastly, I’d like to thank Shoemoney because I honestly DO make more money because of the things he has brought to my attention through his blog and his podcast.
