A Few Things From Here and There (May 21, 2013)

Category: Rant

John Liming

My Opinions

THE BLOG

I went onto a site that is designed to tell bloggers what their world-wide ranking is and I was – - – surprised – - – pleased – - – interested – - – to find that “American Liberal Times” is in Seven-Millionth place out of a field of 122 million blogs. Is that good or what? Can someone who knows something about these things tell me if that is good, bad or indifferent and whether or not it is some kind of sign that I should stop blogging – - – or what?

RIGHT WING LOVE

I am pleased to announce that a few lost causes that represent themselves as Rightie blogs are still quoting my shit without mentioning my name specifically – - and the reason I know it is “my” stuff they are quoting – - and trying to make me look like a fool with their comments – is because they are not smart enough to paraphrase me but are quoting some of my stuff word-for-word.

It is all good because it is a sign to me that they are totally fascinated with me and that can only be a good thing – - – if my stuff is all they have to write about then I am honored and pleased for a couple of reasons – - and one of those reasons is that if they can think of nothing else to write about except my stuff, then they are running dry on creativity – - as if a lot of them ever had any to begin with.

One thing I can always depend on from the Right and the Radical Right is that they are experts at bitching and moaning about things that bother them but I have yet to see much evidence that many of them have any concrete and workable ideas on how to change things for the better. In my experience they have had to depend on Liberals to do that sort of thing.

I know that many Righties hate to admit it – - and many of the more frenetic of them won’t admit it – - but when they get into a bind the first thing a lot of them do is run to take advantage of some of the very same Liberal programs that they had previously raised such loud Hell about. Hypocrites to the core!

GUN CONFISCATION

Obama is well into his second term as President now and I am still waiting for some sign that the “Tyranny” that some of the Right-Turds have been prognosticating – - the tyranny where the President is supposed to do something to cause Troops or Agents or somebody to go house to house confiscating the “Guns” of American Citizens and doing evil and awful things to take away all our Second Amendment Rights – - and a whole lot of other conspiracy crapola the Radical Right have been bleating, crying, moaning, and pissing their drawers about.

I don’t see any of it happening but I do notice that a lot of them are still playing that same old record for the benefit of whatever fools might listen to their crap and believe it. That does not include yours truly!

BENGHAZI SOME MORE

I guess there are a few hold-outs in the Great American Crap Factory that I think of as the Radical Fringe Right who are thinking that if they stir the Benghazi Pot a lot more it might have some kind of negative effect on the chances for Hillary Clinton to win the presidency in 2016.

I think that is pretty much what all this conspiracy has been about any way – - but according to what I have been hearing, the whole thing blew up in their faces when some of them were caught doctoring some e-mail evidence and as far as many are concerned – - that conspiracy is now down the commode.

Even though, the hard-cores will probably still be railing and raving about Benghazi for months – - maybe even years to come – - at least for as long as they think they might be able to squeeze a few more minutes of publicity for themselves out of it all.

I am still wondering why no one is still talking about Watergate or the Valerie Plame affair or any of the other 20-odd “scandals” that were reported to have taken place during the – - – previous – - – cob-serva-tiff administration. They aren’t talking about those are they? I wonder why?

Snark!

Later, friends!

OP-ED by John Liming

Are some lines blurring between Civilian Law Enforcement and The Military as some sources have been reporting lately?

I have been reading some stuff that I do not quite know how to react to – - – stuff that seems to be telling me that somehow the United States Military has gotten – - – or assumed – - – or given itself – - – power to act as police without any obligation or requirement to seek or obtain local or state approval of such activities beforehand - – in what might be termed as “Emergency Situations.”

If it is true as some of the stuff I have been reading seems to suggest to me that there are now situations where the Military can send the troops into the streets in certain kinds of what is being termed “Civil Disturbances” my question becomes, “What exactly is it that some who intend to enforce these new measures will be considering as “Civil Disturbances?”

It is my understanding from what I have been reading and hearing these kinds of “interventions” are intended to be used only in cases of what some are designating as “Large Scale” civil disturbances – - – but I am at somewhat of a loss to understand exactly what is meant by “Large Scale.” Would that address something on the order of some of the Protests that were staged by the Occupy Wall Street folks some months back? Would these measures be able to be invoked in the event of what some might consider large “ordinary” protests of one kind or another or are they talking more on the order of something that might become violent to some degree?

Is there any possibility that such “Interventions” might upset the old apple cart that says that the military is under civilian control and reverse the concept to make it read more like, “The Civilian Population Is Subject To Military Control?”

Is any of what I have been reading about this true at all or has somebody been making stuff up?

I hope somebody who really knows something can chime in here with a few solid answers.

Read the following from “Alter Net” and see what you can make of all this:

Subject: OP-ED by John

Re: Will God Take The Initiative In Repealing Obamacare?

To: Mr. and Mrs. America and Everyone Everywhere

I have been reading an article on the website, “Raw Story” where it is reported that Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) told some evangelical radio host that she believes “God is going to answer our prayers and we’ll be freed from the yoke of Obamacare.”

I have a question about this: ”What about those who are praying that God will answer their prayers and finally do something to insure that “Obamacare” becomes fully implemented and fully operational?”

My other question is, “What happens if “God” decides He doesn’t want to answer prayers in exactly that fashion as the Representative has suggested? What happens if “God” has other ideas about the whole thing?

I will admit to something here, folks!

I have been praying to “God” for a miracle that will finally and for all time put an end to Right Wing intransigence and obstructionism – - but I am not totally expecting Him to give me the answer to that prayer that I would desire in my heart of hearts.

It is like the old story of the religious farmer who desperately prays for a deluge of rain in an area where a lot of rain would destroy property and cost lives if a flood were to come.

In this kind of case do you imagine that God will be more inclined to answer the prayers of the farmer so that he can get a big profitable crop to grow or will He be more likely to answer the prayers of those who are praying that God shut up the Heavens against too much rain so they don’t stand the chance of losing everything they ever worked for or of being drowned?

I think this article deserves to be read because I think it demonstrates some of the reasons why I believe more people should consider voting Democrat in 2014 and 2016:

As I was reading this story on “Addicting Info” at 5:39 am this morning, I thought to myself, “This is really disgusting but to me and my way of thinking it is representative of the way that a lot of Right Wingers think about the most vulnerable of our citizens – - – do whatever it takes to make sure the rich and powerful get their share of The American Dream regardless of whether it might devastate someone who does not live at the top of the food chain.”

I also had this thought: ”This is the kind of shit that should inspire people to vote for Democrats in the elections of 2014.”

So, without further adieu, I say to all my faithful and highly valued Readers – - – READ MORE:

OP-ED by John Liming

It looks to me like some of the Rethug’s desperate attempts to smear the president and to discredit him and to make him the butt of a lot of “scandals” that I have always believed are – - – contrived – - – have done nothing but drive his approval ratings with The American People through the roof!

Even as I write, it is my understanding that all the so-called “evidence” surrounding all the “Scandal” in the news lately that has reportedly been produced by some on the Right Extreme is beginning to come apart and dissolve like sugar in a rainstorm – - – which is exactly what I would expect to happen! Truth is always stronger than lies and Truth eventually prevails in my opinion!

Could it be that the great majority of Americans are fully aware that the main priority of those who would have made Obama a one term president – - – remember that one? – - – is not governing but is – - – in fact – - – nothing but trying to make the president look bad?

Have the obstructionists in Congress shown one single instance where they have demonstrated anything that even comes near to being described as “Governing?” I do not consider chronic stonewalling – - – obstructionism – - – refusal to compromise – - – as “Governing.”

Is it possible that America has heard the Right Wing Radical Extremists’ propaganda bull feces so long they are becoming weary of all the lies, deceits and treacheries coming from that slime pit and are starting to think of some of the Righties as too ignorant to learn the lessons of History?

It is my opinion that if enough lies are told and if enough lies are told for long enough a period of time – - – there comes a time when the lies are seen for what they are and the liars are rewarded with abandonment by those being lied to – - – and I think this is what is happening right now between “Real” Americans and some of the Radicals of Right Wing Extremist Conservatism.

I think The American People have propelled the President’s approval ratings – - – even in the face of what some have described as “Scandals” because The American People don’t buy the Rightie propaganda anymore and have begun to ignore the accusers and their asinine presumptuous accusations and innuendo. That’s what I think about it!

Read Deeper and rejoice:
