日本、アメリカとイラン戦争　Japan, America, and a possible Iran war

I have been watching this possible war with Iran unfold over the past few weeks. America, and Europe, are doing all they can to pressure Iran. In the American Presidential race, candidates are having a competition to see who can be the most aggressive to launch a war with Iran.

And in fact, the United States, Britain, and Israel have been conducting a covert war in Iran of assassination and sabotage since the Bush administration.

Yet the American CIA says that Iran is not making a nuclear weapon, International agencies detect no evidence of Iran making a nuclear weapon.

Most Americans refuse to believe this.

And according to Professor Juan Cole of the University of Michigan, the true goal of the Obama administration is to force the collapse of the Iranian government, but imposing sanctions.

Whenever the US government has tried to force governmental change, it has nearly always failed.

アメリカ政府は他国の政府を壊す試みをして、ほとんど失敗しています。

America has maintained sanctions against Cuba since 1962, the idea is to force collapse, the Cuban government is still there.

But President Obama does seem to be trying to keep tensions from going into all out war. He has cancelled a scheduled joint US/Israeli military exercise.

There is a lot of election year politics going on here, with the Republican Presidential candidates accusing President Obama of being weak against an enemy.

やはり、この問題の大きな原因は、アメリカの大統領選挙年の政治の事です。共和党の候補者達は、オバマ大統領が敵国（イラン）に弱いと非難しています。

As America declines, they will enter a dangerous phase. They will desire to show they are still strong, and they do this by military means.

アメリカは下落しながら、だんだん危険な段階に入ります。自分の国はまだ力が有ると世界に見せたい気持ちが有りますし、この力は軍事的な事です。

Americans are angry about not having won in Iraq. Or in Afghanistan. They say that they were not defeated.

アメリカ人はイラク戦争でもアフガン戦争でも勝っていない事について怒っています。アメリカ人は、”負けではない！”と言っています。

It is true that America's military forces were not destroyed. However, they accomplished nothing in 8 years of war in Iraq. In fact, they created an ally of Iran. Saddam's Iraq was an enemy of Iran, now Iraq under Maliki is an ally of Iran.

正直に言うと、アメリカの軍隊は破壊されていません。ですが、８年間のイラク戦争で何も出来ていませんでした。はっきりに言うと、現在のイラク政府はイランと同盟国に成っています。サダムの時代のイラクはイランの敵でしたが、現在のマリキ首相がイランと同盟しています。

If Iran is an enemy of America, this is a complete blunder.

もしイランはアメリカの敵でしたら、これは完璧な大失敗です。

So after being humiliated in Iraq, Americans are very anxious to find a new enemy, somewhere they can prove the strength of American military power.

イラクで屈辱を受けてから、アメリカ人は必死に新しい敵国を欲しく、自分達の軍力をみせる所を探しています。

There are two candidates now to be targets of American anger, Iran and China.

これから、アメリカが狙う国は二つ、イランと中国です。

America is recently making calculations that the United States could survive a closure of the straight of Hormuz. They believe that they can get enough oil from shale sources in the US, Canadian oil sands, undersea fields in the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil, and from the Alaskan arctic.

現在のアメリカ政府の計算で、アメリカはホルムズ海峡が閉鎖されても、アメリカの経済は問題がないでしょう。アメリカ国内のシェール油、カナダの砂油、メキシコ湾とブラジル沖の海底油田、それとアラスカの油田から充分な石油をとれると信じています。

They believe that these sources of oil will allow the US to challenge Iran and China.

この石油源で、イランと中国にチャレンジが出来ると考えています。

Well, what about Japan? If American action causes the straits of Hormuz to close, will they give us some oil? I doubt it, Americans really aren't thinking about Japan or Europe.

しかし、日本はどう成りますか？ホルムズ海峡が閉鎖されて、アメリカは日本に石油をくれますか？私はそう思いませんし、本当に日本とヨーロッパを考えていないでしょう。

In any case, all of these areas are very difficult to exploit. A few years ago, there was a disaster in the Gulf of Mexico when an undersea BP well exploded. Developing the Brazilian fields will be expensive. Developing the tar sands and shale fields in America are expensive, and destroy fresh water supplies in a country facing massive drought.

とにかく、この油田は全部石油を取り難い所です。数年前に、メキシコ湾でBP社の油井爆発後の原油流出災害が有りました。ブラジル沖の海底油田の開発はとてもお金がかかるでしょう。アメリカとカナダのシェール油、砂油の開発もお金がかかり、もう一つの問題は、これから深刻な干ばつに入る国に、そのシェール油、砂油は淡水源を壊します。

And in any case, it is not certain how oil actually exists in those undersea fields.

それと、この海底油田にどの位の石油の量が有るのかはっきり分かっていません。

As usual, Americans are way too optimistic about their abilities, and the reality of the world. The only way to survive is to develop alternative energy, and to cut down on oil consumption.

いつものように、アメリカ人は自分達の能力と世界の現実に対して、楽観的過ぎています。これから生き残る道は一つだけです、代替エネルギーを開発して、石油の消費を減らします。

America refuses to try.

アメリカはこの事をする試みでも拒否しています。

Americans say that they have the military power to keep the straits of Hormuz open if Iran tries to close them.

もしイランがホルムズ海峡を閉鎖する試みをしたら、アメリカ人は軍事力でホルムズ海峡を守れると言っています。

I keep thinking of a war game in 2002, Millennium Challenge.

私はいつもこの２００２年の戦争ゲーム”Millennium Challenge”を思い出します。

This game was supposed to prove the usefulness of American military strategy. Instead, it was a disaster. In this game "Blue" (America) issued an ultimatum to "Red"(Iran). The next day of the game, small boats of the Red Navy sank 17 ships of the Blue Navy by shooting a massive amount of cruise missiles. 1 Blue aircraft carrier, 10 Blue cruisers and destroyers, and 5 out of 6 amphibious landing vessels were sunk. If it had been a real war, 20,000 US sailors and Marines would have died in a few hours.

この戦争ゲームの目標は、アメリカの軍事戦略の実用性を見せる為にしました。逆で、大災害でした。このゲームで、"Blue"（アメリカ）は"Red"（イラン）に最後通告をしました。そのゲームの次の日に、"Red"海軍の小さいボート艦隊は数多くの巡航ミサイルで、"Blue"海軍の１７隻の軍艦を沈没させました。"Blue"の航空母艦１隻、巡洋艦と駆逐間１０隻、６隻の水陸両用揚陸艦の中から５隻は沈没に成りました。本当の戦争でしたら、数時間で２０，０００人のアメリカ水兵と海兵隊は死にました。

The planners of the game the stopped it, changed the rules to fit the version of war that they wanted, and to show that America would win.

ゲームの計画者達はゲームを止めて、アメリカを勝つ様にルールを変えて、目標の結果が出る様にしました。

However, when the game actually started, it accurately reflected on the capability of the Iranian Navy. They possess the small boats and missiles that could destroy an American fleet in the strait of Hormuz.

しかし、ゲームが始まった時に、イラン海軍の能力を正確に見せました。イラン海軍で、その巡航ミサイル持ちの小さいボートがいっぱい有ります。ホルムズ海峡でどんなアメリカ艦隊でも沈没させる事が出来ます。

America refused to face reality in the game. Also, America refuses to face reality today in dealing with Iran, or China.

そのゲームで、アメリカは現実を見つめる事を拒否しています。それと、現在のアメリカは、中国とイランの交流で現実を見つめる事を拒否しています。

And again, Japan appears to be giving in to American pressure to stop buying oil from Iran. But America does not seem to care what damage will come to Japan.

現在、日本はイランから石油を購入する事を辞めるアメリカの外圧に負けているみたいです。しかし、この行動で、日本はどう言う傷に成るとアメリカは考えていないみたいです。

I will tell you the truth. If America starts a war with Iran, Japan will lose ALL Middle Eastern oil. America and Israel desperately want a war with Iran. They also believe in the fantasy that they can win it, despite losing almost every war since Korea.

真実を教えます。もしアメリカがイランと戦争を始めたら、日本がすべての中近東から輸入している石油を失います。アメリカとイスラエルの政府で数多くの人は必死にイランと戦争を始める事に努力しています。アメリカは朝鮮戦争からほとんどの行なった戦争を負けていても、そのアメリカ人とイスラエル人はイランとの戦争を勝つ事を信じています。

But why must Japan always follow America's orders, even when those orders harm Japan? It is shameful.

しかし、どうして日本はいつもアメリカの命令通りの事、その命令で日本が困る事に成っても、こう言う事をするのですか？恥ずかしいです。

Russia and China will not follow American orders, they will buy Iranian oil and profit. The sanctions will fail.

Why must Japan suffer for American delusions?

どうして日本はアメリカの空想で苦しむ必要が有りますか？

Breaking news on this story. Israeli Intelligence. Mossad says there is no evidence that Iran is making a nuclear weapon. Israel Defense Minister Barak says there is no immediate Israeli plan to attack Iran.

この投稿の緊急情報です。イスラエル情報部機関、モサドはイランが核兵器を作っている証拠はないと宣言しています。イスラエル防衛大臣バラク氏はイランに攻撃する計画は有りませんと言っています。

Professor Juan Cole of the University of Michigan feels that President Obama has probably put behind the scenes pressure on the Israelis to calm things down. I agree.

ミシガン州立大学のフアン・コール先生の意見で、オバマ大統領は裏でイスラエルに外圧をかけています。私もそう思います。

（日本にいる）外人は何ですか？ What is a Gaijin?

So what is a Gaijin? In Japanese it means foreigner. Japan is unique in many respects, the foreign experience for the last 40 years or so has also been quite unique.

外人は何ですか？日本語で、フォーリナーと言う意味です。色々な事で日本は独特な国ですし、最近の４０年間日本在住外人の生活は特別でした。

America is a land of immigrants. And Americans, well in general we think of immigrants not really being successful until the second or third generation. The problems of langauge, and understanding a different culture are immense. And the older a person is, the more difficult it is.

アメリカは移民の国です。アメリカ人の考えで、移民の人達はだいたい二世、三世位まで成功に成らないと思っています。言語、別の文化の理解、こう言う問題は大変です。年長者には、もっと難しいです。

My own Grandfather came to America from Sweden. He was 20, and spoke no English. He landed in New York, but heard that there Swedes living in Chicago. So he made his way there and became a house painter. He worked hard and bought a nice house in rural Wisconsin. He married, and my mother was born, and the result of that was me.

私の祖父は、スウェーデンから海を渡ってアメリカへ行きました。２０歳でしたし、英語を全然分かりませんでした。ニューヨークに上陸しましたが、シカゴにスウェーデン人がいると言う話を聞いて、シカゴまで行って、建物のペンキ屋に成りました。一緒懸命に働いて、ウィスコンシン州のいなかで一軒家を買いました。結婚して、私の母が生まれて、そのうち私は生まれました。

A pretty average American story. But when I came back to the US from my first posting in the Marine Corps in Japan, and I told my Grandfather that I would spend the rest of my life in Japan, he got angry. "What! They will treat you like idiots! You will never get a good job!".

普通のアメリカ物語です。しかし、私は米軍海兵隊で日本に行って、それからアメリカに戻って、祖父にこれから一生日本で生活する事を言ったら、祖父が怒りました。”何ですか！その国で馬鹿の様な扱いをされます！良い仕事を出来るわけがないです！”

From the average American experience, this is what a person would expect moving to another country.

アメリカでの移民経験を考えると、他の国に移民するには、これは当たり前と考えます。

But as I said, Japan is unique. A lot of this is due to history. Japan has always had a very vibrant cultural life. And when Commodore Perry's squadron forced Japan to end it's seclusion in 1854, Japan eagerly embraced Western technology and culture.

しかし、私が書いた様に、日本は独特です。大きな理由は、日本の歴史です。昔から、日本は活気な文化が有りました。１８５４年に、ペリー提督は強制的に日本の鎖国政策を辞めさせた時に、日本は熱心に西洋の文化と技術を勉強しました。

Until WWII, there were very few Westerners living in Japan. Mostly missionaries and a few businessmen. However, Japan's defeat in WWII was a shock. Japan is a proud country, with a long history. The truth is, Japan made excellent weapons, and Japanese were excellent soldiers. The only way that America won WWII in the Pacific is because America had more of everything.

第二次世界大戦まで、日本で生活している西洋人は本当に少なかったでした。ほとんど宣教師とビジネスマンでした。しかし、日本にとって敗戦に成ったのはとてもショックでした。日本は長い歴史の誇りが有る国です。真実は、日本は素晴しい武器を造りましたし、日本人は立派な兵士でした。アメリカは太平洋戦争での数で、武器でも兵士でも勝ちました。

But to Japanese people, they felt that Americans must possess some special inner spiritual quality that guaranteed victory in the war.

しかし、当時の日本人の気持ちで、アメリカ人は何か特別な精神的な特質で戦争を勝ちました。

As I have said, Japan has a long history with deep culture, and the treatment of the guest has always been a refined art.

私が書いた様に、日本の歴史は長くて、文化が深くて、それでお客様の扱いが芸術です。

Now combine this tradition of treating guests well with regrading Westerners as superior due to their military victory over Japan, we have the beginnings of our unique situation.

このお客様扱いの伝統と西洋人が日本に対しての戦争の勝利で、目上の人と考えて、この珍しい外人扱いの状態が始まります。

When I first arrived in Japan in 1974, there were still few foreigners living here. The average Western foreigner was either former American military, or a backpacker tourist. The tourists would come to Japan for a year or so, and make their money for their Asian trip. In those days, you could hear stories about the great Hashish to be had in Kabul, or riding a bus from Calcutta to Istanbul for $40.

私が初めて１９７４年に日本に来た時に、外人はまだ少なかった。当時の普通の外人は、元米兵、それともバックパッカーの観光者でした。その観光者は日本に一年間位来て、英語を教えて、アジア旅行の為にお金を稼ぎます。当時の英会話学校の先生のラウンジでの会話は、カブールで素晴しいハシーシュ（麻薬）を購入出来る、それともカルカッタからイスタンブールまで＄４０でバス旅行が出来る、そう言う会話が多かったでした。勿論、私は麻薬関係の外人との付き合いを拒否しました。

Japanese curiosity about foreigners and the West was insatiable. People would pay you money just to talk to you in English. So some people made a bundle of cash off the English business.

日本人の外人と西洋の事についての興味は貪欲的でした。英語で会話するだけで、人々はいいお金を払いました。これで、英会話で儲けた外人は沢山いました。

Since so many Japanese regarded Westerners as superior, many foreigners made a lot of money doing TV commercials. All beauty product commercials used to have White Western women, car commercials used to use Westerners exclusively.

当時の日本人は外人は目上と思ったので、テレビCMで儲けた外人も沢山いました。化粧品のCMは白人女性を使って、昔の車のCMが西洋人のみを出しました。

When I came here in 1974, it was still very difficult for most Japanese to travel outside Japan for financial reasons. Thusly, the intense interest in any Westerner in Japan.

私が初めて１９７４年に日本に来た時は、まだ経済的な理由で日本人の海外旅行は難しかったです。それで、日本在住の外人に強い関心が有りました。

By the 1980's, several Gaijin had written books that went something like "YOU can go to Japan and make a lot of money!". Then, we had a flood of people, who to put it mildly, were not exemplary representatives of their country.

１９８０年代までに、何人かの外人は本を書いて、”貴方でも日本へ行ったらすごいお金を儲ける事が出来る！”みたいなタイトルでした。それから、大波みたいな数の外人は日本に来て、はっきり言うと、彼達は自分の国に対してあまり素晴しい代表では有りませんでした。

You could take Mr. Nerd from Cornfield Village USA. At home, the major job position he could aspire to would be sub assistant manager at the local Wendy's. He would not be able to get a date to save his life.

例えば、アメリカ中部のトウモロコシ畑村の”間抜け君”の場合です。アメリカでは、近くのウェンディーズのハンバーガーレストランで、臨時アシスタントマネージャー位までしか上がらない。どう頑張っても、生まれ育ちの村で、デートは無理です。

Now this person arrives in Japan. On his first night in Tokyo, he meets a Japanese businessman who wants to practice English. He gets treated to a full course dinner, and is given $100 for Taxi fare, even though the trains are still running. He goes to a bar and meets a stunningly beautiful girl who wants to have sex with him so she can practice her English. In his first week, he lands a TV commercial and pulls in $6,000 for sitting around on the set.

それで、この人は日本に上陸します。最初の夕方に、英語を練習したい日本人ビジネスマンに会って、懐石料理をごちそうして貰って、電車がまだ走っていても、車代で￥１０，０００貰います。それからバーへ行って、とても美人な女性が、”私に枕で英語を教えて！”と言っています。最初の一週間で、テレビのCMを受けて、ちょっとだけ映って、ほとんどセットで座って出番まで待って、￥６００，０００を貰います。

Now this kind of thing goes to some people's heads. Many people began to actually believe that there were superstars. Charisma Man is a comic strip of the time that parodied this effect.

こう言うな事で、普通の人は自分がスーパースターと考えました。当時の外人が書いた漫画、 ”Charisma Man””カリスママン”が、この事をパロディーしました。

Frankly, for many years I have been disgusted by most foreigners. I have worked as a manager for a foreign casting agency. We would supply foreigners for TV shows, movies, and commercials.

正直に言うと、私はほとんどの外人の行動についてうんざりしています。外タレのキャスティング事務所でマネージャーとして働いた事が有ります。テレビCM、映画、テレビ番組に外人タレントを出しました。

Things like showing up on time, bringing the proper clothes they were told to bring, bathing, these things were too much for many people. Canceling jobs at the last minute, or not showing up at all.

時間通りに集合場所まで来る、言われた服装を持って来る、お風呂に入る、こう言う事は数多くの外人に難しかったです。ぎりぎりで仕事をキャンセルする事もよく有ったし、そのまま連絡無しで仕事へ来ない事も多かったでした。

My wife was very surprised one day on getting a call from an agent, that I should wear a suit for the next day's film job. And the agent defined a suit as a dark jacket and trousers of the same color, a white shirt, a conservative tie, black leather shoes, dark socks.

有る日、私の妻が有る事務所から電話を受けて、次の日の撮影の為にスーツを着て下さいと言われました。事務所がスーツを説明しました：ダーク色なジャケットとスラックス、白いシャツ、派手ではないネクタイ、黒い皮靴と黒のソックス。

Well, the person reading this might think "Well of course!". I remember one day on the set. My Gaijin was supposed to be a banker in conference with Japanese bankers. He showed up in a cream sport jacket, a plaid work shirt, jeans, running shoes, and the necktie was a Donald Duck necktie. There was a lot of screaming over that one.

読者の皆さんから、”当たり前”と思うかも知れません。有る日の現場を覚えています。シーンは、日本人銀行員と会議している外人銀行員でした。私の外人は現場に来て、服装はクリーム色のスポーツ・ジャケット、マドラスチェックのシャツ、白い運動靴、ネクタイはディズニーのドナルドダック模様でした。監督は本当に怒りました。

I also had a guy who boasted of not having changed his underwear for a year. His aroma filled a conference room for 300 people. He also boasted about not brushing his teeth for ten years. I won't go into that one.

有る時に、有る外人が１年間下着を着替えた事が無いと自慢していました。彼の匂いで、３００人分の席の会議室が臭く成りました。彼は歯も１０年間磨いた事が無いと自慢しました。ひどい一日でした。

And there was the guy who always took off his clothes. When it was time for him to film, I would announce "Mr. T could you put on your clothes. We are going to film!"

もう一人は、いつでも服を脱いだ人でした。撮影が始まる時間に、私は、”Tさん！時間です！服を着なさい！”と言う必要が有りました。

The fact is, most Gaijins came here and let themselves go to seed, and became arrogant. They expected special treatment as a matter of course.

真実は、ほとんどの日本に来る外人はメチャクチャに成ってから傲慢に成ります。特別扱いが当たり前と思っています。

Even the word Gaijin has become controversial among some Westerners. There are people out there who claim it is prejudicial. They say "Gaikokujin" is the proper word.

”外人”と言う言葉も、西洋人のなかで議論です。差別と言う外人もいます。外国人の方が正しいと言います。

Well, Gaijin is formed from two Chinese Characters, meaning outside person. Gaikokujin has three characters, meaning outside country person.

外人は二つの漢字、外の人と言う意味です。外国人は三つの漢字、外の国の人と言う意味です。

To tell the truth, their meaning is identical, neither has any special prejudicial meaning.

正直に言うと、意味は一緒で、どちらかは差別的な意味は有りません。

And I do get irritated when some idiot who has been here a year and a half lectures me about Japanese prejudices, and tells me I don't know what I am talking about.

それで、１年半位滞在している外人が私に日本人差別の事について論文的に話して、私が日本の事を分からないと言います。

I have only lived here for 37 years, and I write articles in Japanese. To such idiots, I don't know anything.

私はこの国に３７年生活していて、ブログを日本語で書いています。こう言う間抜けの意見で、私は何も分かっていません。

And of course, these arrogant Gaijin never learned Japanese, they always got by in just English.

勿論、こう言う傲慢な外人は日本語を習わないし、英語しか出来ません。

But times have shifted. Years ago, Japanese people would be afraid to approach me in public because they would think their English skills were insufficient. Today people approach me on the street in Japanese.

しかし、時代は変わりました。昔、私が道を歩くと、普通の日本人は話しをしなかった、自分の英語は不十分と思ったから。現在、道で日本人は私に日本語で会話を始めます。

Japanese car and beauty product adverts use Japanese, no more Gaijin.

日本の車と化粧品のCMは外人ではなく、日本人を出しています。

Or if a commercial does want Gaijin, they fly the director and cameraman to LA, and use professional Americans.

もし、有るCMはどうしても外人を使いたい場合、監督とカメラマンはロサンゼルスへ行って、プロのアメリカ人を使いします。

And most young Japanese are simply indifferent to Gaijin, just another person, nobody special just for being born somewhere else.

And frankly, I find that very relaxing. I never liked speaking English after I came here anyway, I wanted to speak Japanese. I can't tell you how many sure thing dates I blew. Some gorgeous babe would hook up with me, things were going swimmingly, and she would coo to me "So when are you going back to America?"

それは、私にとてもリラックスです。日本へ来てからはっきりに言うと、英語を使う事がきらいでしたし、日本語の方を使いたかった。私は何回も”決まり”の様なデートを失敗しました。有る美人とデートして、だんだん気持ちは、”今晩は成功に成るぞ！”その彼女はセクシーな声で、”貴方はいつアメリカへ帰るの？”と聞きます。

My reply would be "Well I am going to change my passport to Japanese, and stay here forever. I will never go back to America"

私の返事は、”私は日本国籍に帰化して、一生日本に住みます。アメリカへ決して戻りません。”

Then she says "You Creep!" and stomps off. Well actually, the truth is that many of my girlfriends before I got married simply did not like Gaijin. But then I was always different. While most Gaijin were working English teaching jobs, I worked in Japanese corporations, or as a Japanese construction worker.

その彼女は、”貴方はひどい人！”と言って、それで去りました。真実は、私が結婚する前、ほとんどの私のガールフレンドは外人嫌いでした。しかし、私はいつも違う人でした。普通の外人は英会話で働いて、私は日本の企業と工事現場で働きました。

But I must say that there has been a sea change in the type of Gaijin coming here now. They have a genuine interest in Japan and Japanese culture. The anime boom in particular has attracted a lot of people. They study Japanese before coming here, and they don't have the arrogance of people 20 years ago.

それと、現在の日本に来る若い外人はとても変わりました。日本と日本文化に興味が有ります。特に、アニメブームでいっぱいの人が来ました。来る前から日本語を勉強していて、２０年前の外人の傲慢をしていません。

And what about those arrogant Gaijins of 20 years ago, where are they today? Well there is a process I call "Economic Darwinism" which means that in tough economic times, the idiot shall not be employed. These days, there simply is not any use for a Gaijin who cannot speak Japanese. Unless they have carved out some special situation, they disappear. I suppose they have gone back to Cornfield Village USA to see if that position at Wendy's is still open.

それと、その２０年前の傲慢外人はどう成っていますか？私は、”ダーウィン主義経済”と言う言葉を作りました。この意味は、厳しい経済の時にばかな人は仕事を出来ません。現在の日本で、日本語を出来ない外人に役は有りません。特別な状態をつくらない場合に、その人は消えます。もしかしたらそのトウモロコシ畑村へ戻って、そのウェンディーズの仕事はまだ有るかどうか確認へ行ったかも知れません。

So, what is new with Occupy Wall Street? Well, in the last week there was major action on both the East and West coasts.

ウォール街を占拠せよ！運動はどう成っていますか？先週、アメリカの西と東海岸両方で活動が有りました。

On the West coast, two ports were shut down, Oakland CA, and Longview WA. Shut downs in Long Beach CA, Vancouver Canada and San Diego CA were less successful, they only closed the ports for an hour before police dispersed them.

西海岸で、二つの港は一日中シャットダウンされました、カリフォルニア州オークランド港とワシントン州ロングビュー港でした。カナダのバンクーバー港、カリフォルニア州ロングビーチ港（ロサンゼルス）とサンディエゴ港は、一時間位しかシャットダウン出来ませんでした。

In New York, several dozen protesters were arrested after they attempted to "occupy" a piece of land owned by a church, near the former encampment at Zuccotti park. Their intent was to set up a new camp.

However the "Occupy" movement is evolving into something more. They are occupying the homes of people facing foreclosure nationwide. As I have written before, many, probably most, home loans are fraudulent in the United States. The US government has done nothing to help.

This is to show their disdain for both political parties and their failure to help the 99% of Americans who are not rich.

この意味は、両方の政党に蔑視を見せる為です。”占拠せよ！”運動人達の考えで、両方のアメリカ政党は金持ちではない９９％のアメリカ人を無視しています。

Since the Occupy movement has been moved from park camps around the American nation, many in the US media has been predicting the end of the movement.

”占拠せよ！”運動はアメリカ全国の公園から追い出されたから、アメリカのマスコミがこの運動が終わったと報道しています。

Not at all, they are evolving. They are moving into social welfare where government does not help, they are protesting the basic structure of US government for the rich.

まったく違いますし、この運動は進化しています。アメリカ政府のしない所で社会福祉の事をしていて、アメリカの基本的なお金持ちを守る政府を抗議しています。

I am proud of these people.

この運動について、私は誇りが有ります。

北朝鮮 North Korea

Well, General Secretary of the North Korean Workers Party, Kim Jong Il, has died. So, with North Korea, now what?

金正日氏、朝鮮労働党総書記は亡くなりました。それでは、北朝鮮はこれからどう成るでしょうか？

Well the easy answer is chaos. First of all, let's look back a little bit. From my studies, Kim Il Sung, the founder of North Korea, was a man of ability, and he was genuinely respected and loved by North Koreans. After all, he led North Korea through the war years, and managed to keep a middle of the road position between China and the Soviet Union. He even managed to produce a standard of living comparable to South Korea in the 1960's.

簡単な返事は、混乱に成ります。まず、ちょっと歴史を考えましょう。金日成氏、北朝鮮の建国者は能力が有った人で、本当に北朝鮮の人々から尊敬と愛されました。朝鮮戦争時代のりーダーでしたし、その戦後でお互いライバルの国旧ソ連と中国の間中の道を通りました。１９６０年代で、北朝鮮の生活のレベルは、韓国とあまり変わりませんでした。

I don't think his son, Kim Jong Il, was as genuinely loved. At least by the elite. But other powerful North Koreans, in the Communist party and the Army, realized that if Kim Jong Il did not rule, the result would be chaos. There is a famous anecdote, when the Communist Romanian leader Nicolae Ceaușescu and his wife were executed by firing squad in 1989, Kim Jong Il showed a video of the incident to his top leaders. The message was, "We all work together or we die together." I know of at least one alleged assassination attempt some 5 years ago, but in general the leadership tolerated him.

私の気持ちで、息子の金正日氏は、お父さんと同じ様な尊敬と愛は有りませんでした。まあ北朝鮮のエリートはそう考えたでしょう。しかし、多数の有力な北朝鮮人は金正日氏が支配しないと、混乱な結果に成ると理解しました。有名な逸話で、１９８９年で、共産主義ルーマニアのニコラエ・チャウシェスク大統領と奥さんが銃殺隊で死刑された時に、金正日氏は北朝鮮のトップリーダー達にその死刑ビデオを見せました。メッセージは、”われわれは一緒に協力するか、一緒に死ぬか！”でした。５年前位、一回位の暗殺の試みを分かるけれど、基本的に北朝鮮のエリートは金正日氏に委ねられていました。

North Koreans, particularly the elite, do have an idea of the position of their country. There is an extensive black market of South Korean films in the North. North and South Korea have a joint venture industrial park in the city of Kaesong, just north of the DMZ. Well, South Korean workers brought their own food, including the popular South Korean sweet "Choco Pie". Well there is now huge secret trade of Choco Pie in North Korea. Despite the nastiness of the dictatorial regime, they could not stamp it out.

北朝鮮人、特にエリートの方は、自分の国は世界にたいしてどう言う立場が有ると何となく分かっています。北朝鮮の中で、韓国映画、テレビドラマの闇市場は幅広く有ります。非武装地帯（朝鮮戦争停止線）のすぐ北のカイソン市で、韓国と北朝鮮のジョイントベンチャーの産業パークが有ります。それで、韓国人の方は、自分の食べ物をその産業パークへ持って行って、特に、韓国の人気ケーキ”チョコパイ”が食堂に有りました。北朝鮮人でとても人気に成って、現在、北朝鮮の中で、この”チョコパイ”は全国で密輸入が有ります。厳しい独裁主義な北朝鮮政府は”チョコパイ”密輸入を止める事を出来ませんでした。

Personally, I think Kim Jong Il made some mistakes. His efforts a few years to stamp out private markets by revaluing the currency were a disaster.

正直に言うと、金正日氏は間違いをしたでしょう。数年前の通貨再評価で、個人市場をなくす試みは大失敗でした。

Private markets had arisen all over the nation, and these were the only way for many North Koreans to survive. With the currency revaluation, they were stamped out instantly. Obviously this created a lot of resentment.

北朝鮮の全国で個人市場で出た、ほとんどの北朝鮮人の生きる道が、その市場しか有りませんでした。通貨再評価で、この市場は突然、消えました。明らかに、これは多数の人の心に、恨みの気持ちを作ったでしょう。

Also, the lifestyle of Kim Jong Il, with all the sex, alcohol, and expensive foods must have raised eyebrows among North Korea's elite. Traditionally, while prostitution has always existed in Korea, over indulgence in sex and alcohol is frowned upon. Korea has always been a very conservative land.

それと、金正日氏の生活スタイル、セックス、お酒、高級料理で、北朝鮮のエリートは驚いたでしょう。昔から、朝鮮と言う所で売春は有りましたが、お酒とセックスをし過ぎの事があまりよく見えませんでした。朝鮮と言う国は、昔から保守的な国でした。

So Kim Jong Un inherits a pot ready to boil, and he is not even 30 years old. Can he hold it together? Kim Jong Il has charged his brother in law, Chang Sung Taek, with watching over the boy, but I personally doubt it will work. I have read that Kim Jong Un has been named a four star general, but for one so young, that is al little farcical.

金正恩氏はまもなく爆発に成る国を引き継ぎ、まだ３０歳にも成っていません。彼がその国の存在を守る事を出来ますか？数年前に、金正日氏は義理の兄弟、張成沢氏に、金正恩氏を大人に成るまでに守る事を任せました。私は自分でこれはだめだと思います。金正恩氏は陸軍大将に成ったと読んだ事が有りますが、何か全部し過ぎな気がします。茶番劇でしょう。

The next few months, couple of years will be very nervous. Will there be a war? I don't think so. As I have written before, a war would be a disaster for North Korea.

これからの数ヵ月、数年間は、緊張でしょう。戦争に成りますか？私はそう思いません。以前書いた様に、戦争は北朝鮮に対して災害に成ります。

I think there is a strong possibility of internal fighting inside North Korea. From defectors accounts, I have read some years ago of rogue North Korean army units in the mountain regions robbing travelers.

So what should Japan do? Well, I think we should take a back seat to South Korea and China. They are most directly involved. In fact, North Korea in chaos could devastate South Korea. Imagine if suddenly millions of starving North Korean refugees started crossing the DMZ?

日本は、どうしたら良いですか？ほとんど中国と韓国に任せた方が良いと思います。その二つの国は、直接影響が有ります。正直に言うと、北朝鮮の混乱は、韓国を破壊させる可能性が有ります。突然、何百万人の北朝鮮の飢餓している亡命者が、非武装地帯を渡り始める事を想像して下さい。

Well, the South Korean government does have plans for this. Those plans call for South Korean Army units to go north and block road intersections in an effort to keep people in the North. Also, schools near the DMZ are designated refugee centers. But it would be a tremendous humanitarian disaster.

韓国政府は、この事について計画が有ります。その計画で、韓国軍部隊は北へ進んで、北朝鮮亡命者は南へ行かない様に交差点をブロックする事を考えています。非武装地帯の近くに有る韓国の学校も、亡命者を受ける為のセンターと考えています。

The South Korean economy is already in trouble, Japan may have to back up the South. And for this reason South Korean President Lee Myung Bak should stop bringing up such old issues as the "Comfort Women" issue. It was settled long ago. South Korea is going to truly need Japanese friendship, it is not time to insult us.

韓国の経済はもう困っていますし、日本は韓国をバックする必要に成るかも知れません。この理由で、韓国の李明博大統領がその慰安婦問題の話を辞めた方が良いです。昔に解決しました。韓国はこれから日本の友好は必要に成りますし、日本に失礼な話を辞めた方がいいです。

America should restrain itself. I have read statements by Americans in case of a North Korean collapse, that America should send troops into North Korea and turn it into a Democracy.

アメリカは、もう自ら抑制するべきです。私が読んだ数人のアメリカ人の話で、北朝鮮崩壊の場合、韓国にいるアメリカ兵は北へ進んで、北朝鮮を民主主義の国に作るべきと言う事を書いています。

This would be disaster. First of all troops, even if they are American, are trained to fight and kill. They are not suitable for bringing Democracy. North Koreans have very strong memories of the Korean war, and will fight if Americans enter the North.

これは、災害に成ります。まず、アメリカ兵でも、戦い、人を殺す事の訓練が有ります。民主主義を教える事についていません。北朝鮮の人々は朝鮮戦争の思い出が強いですし、アメリカ兵が北朝鮮に入ったら、戦います。

Chinese troops could probably delivery humanitarian aid, and possibly South Korean troops. But no Americans. In America, it is an election year, and the American political Right is going to accuse President Obama of weakness if he does not intervene.

中国軍は人道支援を出来る可能性が有ります。韓国軍も大丈夫かも知れません。しかし、アメリカ兵はダメです。現在、アメリカは大統領選挙の年です。アメリカの右派、共和党は、オバマ大統領が積極的に介入しないと弱いと非難します。

But sending American troops into North Korea would mean another long war with no purpose, and no end.

しかし、北朝鮮にアメリカ兵が入ったら、また長い、終わりがない戦争に成ります。

In any case, North Korea is a basket case. Road and rail transport barely exist. There is almost no electricity. The people have been starved for years, and are extremely malnourished. While literate, their education is primarily on Kim Il Sung's Juche theory.

とにかく、北朝鮮は本当に衰弱な国です。道路、鉄道の交通機関はほとんど有りません。電気もほとんど有りません。国民は何年間の飢餓で栄養不良です。読み書きを出来るけれど、教育はだいだい金日成氏のチュチェ思想です。

Also, even though the elite have some idea of the outside world, actual contact with outsiders is going to bring extreme shock. The entire world they have known and believed in for 70 years is about to be proven totally false, a cruel deception, the psychiatric problems will be immense.

北朝鮮のエリートは、世界の他の国の事を少し分かっていますが、別の国の人々と実際の交流は巨大なショックに成るでしょう。彼達の７０年間信じた世界は、全部嘘、残酷なごまかしと証明されます。ほとんどの北朝鮮人は精神病に成るでしょう。

Taking care of North Korea could devastate the South Korean nation, and be a burden to China.

北朝鮮を面倒見る事で、韓国が破壊に成る可能性が有り、中国にとても大変な問題です。

What is certain is that the coming North Korean collapse will be difficult for everyone.

確かに、北朝鮮の崩壊はこれからが大変です。

日本、アメリカとイラン Japan, America, and Iran

Over the past few weeks, we have been watching the humiliating saga of Japan's involvement with American efforts to start a war with Iran. How is Japan involved? This is through the director of the I.A.E.A., Mr. Amano Yukiya.

最近の数週間、アメリカのイラン戦争を始める試みの屈辱的な日本関与を見ています。日本は、どう言う風に関与しているのですか？これは、IAEA（国際原子力機関）事務局長天野之弥さんの活動で、日本は関与しています。

Through Wikileaks, we have learned that when Mr. Amano became the director of the I.AE.A., he informed US Embassy officials in Vienna, that he was in total cooperation with the US, but he needed to maintain an appearance of neutrality.

Just last month, soon after the release of Mr. Amano's report on Iranian nuclear weapon development, we have American Republican Presidential candidates in a debate trying to outdo each other in who can be more bellicose towards Iran.

The centerpiece of Mr. Amano's report, is a laptop computer that first appeared in 2004. It supposedly comes from Iran, and is said to provides details about Iran's effort to create nuclear weapons.

This laptop has long been discredited. Really, it is written in English. The language of Iran is Farsi, they use an Arabic type script.

This is reminiscent of the drive to build a case to start a war with Iraq. We had new words added to the English language, "cherry picking" and "stove piping".

この事件で、イラク戦争を始める努力を思い出します。英語で、新しい言葉、例えば、”チェリーピッキング”と”ストーブパイピング”が出来ています。

What these words mean is, when you have a plan to start a war, you take the large mass of Intelligence information, take out a few pieces of information that support your position, and ignore everything else that does not support it.

この言葉の意味は、戦争を始めたい時に、大量の情報の中から、自分の立場を支持するちょっとの情報を選んで、その他の自分の立場を支持しない情報を無視します。

The Bush administration simply lied in an effort to get America into war in Iraq.

It worked. America got it's war. Yet this month, American forces leave in humiliation, after the Iraqi government refused to extend permission for them to stay in the country.

Iraq was the first country on the list, Iran the last. This plan existed in American planning some ten years before 9/11.

I really want to say here, there are many Japanese people today who still believe that America is some kind of pure divine country that can do no wrong. Of course, the fact is that America is composed of human beings, and very often in this world human beings do awful things.

ここで書きたいのは、まだ日本でアメリカの事を何とか聖的な国で、悪い事が出来ない国と考えている人が多いです。勿論、アメリカは人間が作った国で、この世の中で、人間はたびたびひどい事をします。

So now we have a Japanese person on the world stage who has created a major blunder. He was given some information by some Americans, and believed it. He then went on to publish in a report by his agency. If he had done some checking, he would have found that that information was declared false years ago.

それで、現在、世界のステージに立っている日本人で、大失敗を行なった人がいます。アメリカ人から情報を貰って、簡単に信じました。それで、自分の事務局で、レポートを発表しました。ちょっとでも情報を確認したら、その情報を何年前から嘘で証拠された事が分かりました。

Is Iran truly a dangerous country? No. This whole question of Iran trying to get nuclear weapons is created by right wing Americans and Israeli's who desire war.

イランは本当に危険な国ですか？違います。この”イランは核兵器を開発中”の話題は、戦争したいアメリカ人とイスラエル人が完璧に作っています。

In the New Yorker link by Seymour Hersh above, Mr. Hersh describes how the US military has made extraordinary efforts for years with spies on the ground, electronic intelligence, and satellite surveillance, they can find no evidence whatsoever that Iran is trying to make a nuclear weapon.

上記のリンクのニューヨーカーの記事で、シーモア・ハーシュさんの記事で、彼はアメリカ軍の何年間、スパイ、電子情報、スパイ衛星などを利用して、一緒懸命にイラン核兵器開発証拠を探して、結果は完璧に何も有りません。

It is Iran that is surrounded by American military power, not the other way around.

実は、イランはアメリカ軍事力で取り囲まれる、逆では有りません。

Each star is a US base. Note: those US bases in Iraq will be gone by the end of December. In fact, the American invasion of Iraq changed Iraq from being an enemy of Iran into an ally. American policy is full of mistakes.

OK, if Iran does create a nuclear weapon, will Iran become a dangerous country? Israeli's and American's who want war say that Iran will quickly shoot a nuclear missile at some country if they develop the ability.

もしイランが核兵器を作れば、イランは危険な国に成りますか？戦争したいイスラエル人とアメリカ人の話で、イランが核兵器を出来たらすぐにそのミサイルをどこかの国へ撃つと言っています。

This is ridiculous. Even if Iran tried to make a nuclear weapon, at best they could only make a few. Israel has 300 nuclear weapons, America has nearly 10,000. If America wished, it could turn Iran into glass.

これは、おかしな話です。もしイランが核兵器を作ったら、数個しか作れません。イスラエルは、３００個位の核兵器を持っています。アメリカは１万個近いです。アメリカはその希望が有れば、イランをグラスに変身出来ます。

What do I mean by that? The soil and rock directly underneath the explosion of modern nuclear weapons melts into glass. America has enough nuclear power to make Iran molten glass from the Eastern to Western border.

それはどう言う意味ですか？現在の核兵器爆発の下の土と岩は溶けてグラスに成ります。アメリカの核兵器の数で、イランは東国境から西国境まで溶けたグラスに作る事は可能です。

This recent demand by America that Japan cease buying oil from Iran is a recent case to show that Japan needs to have an independent foreign policy. Japan could possibly find other sources of oil. But it would create much economic hardship in Japan.

最近の日本はイランの石油を購入する事を辞めるようにアメリカからの要求で、独立の外交が必要とよく分かります。日本は他の石油源を見つける事は可能です。しかし、日本国内は経済的に苦しみに成ります。

But America does not care. And, it is not just. Iran is not a criminal nation. In fact, America, Israel and Britain have long been fighting a covert war in Iran. They have special forces in Iran, and use anti government guerrilla groups inside Iran to assassinate scientists and blow up various targets.

Iran has not taken any such action towards any Western nation. Iran does provide support to guerrillas fighting Israel, but the Israeli/Arab problem is very difficult.

真珠湾攻撃の開戦日について On the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor

Tomorrow is December 8th, and this is the anniversary of Japan's attack on the American Navy at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. For most Japanese, I don't think they really know anything about this day. For Americans, there is always much talk about the subject, how untrustworthy a country Japan is, and what a heroic nation America is.

明日は１２月８日で、この日は日本がハワイに有ったアメリカ艦隊の攻撃の開戦日です。ほとんどの日本人は、この日にどう言う事が有ったか、よく分からないでしょう。アメリカ人はいつもこの事についてよく話題にしていますし、例えば、日本を信用出来ない、アメリカは英雄的な国です。

The truth is quite different.

真実はとても違います。

American versions of the story have the Imperial Japanese Navy attacking Pearl Harbor with no warning, for no reason. Americans say that their country was then, and is now a peaceful country. No.

アメリカ人の話では、帝国海軍は戦争宣言なしで、理由なく攻撃しました。アメリカ人の話で、彼達の国はその当時でも、今でも、平和的な国でした。違います。

The truth is, America very much wanted a war with Japan. Americans were long afraid of Japan. The reasons for this, well Japan, after the Meiji revolution quickly became a modern nation. Japan defeated Russia, a White Christian nation in war.

真実は、アメリカは日本と戦争したい気持ちが有りました。アメリカ人はずっと日本を恐れていました。何故か、明治維新の後から、日本は短い間で現代的な国に成りました。日本は日露戦争で、キリスト教の白人国に勝利しました。

This shocked Americans, who believed that the White race and Christian religion were naturally superior. America wanted to dominate China for it's own economic reasons.

これで、アメリカ人はショックに成りました。彼達の意識で、白人民族とキリスト教は自然的に上位でした。それと、自分達の利益の為に、アメリカは中国を支配する気持ちが有りました。

For some 10 to 15 years before Pearl Harbor, America pursued a policy of gradually choking Japan, until Japan had only two choices: 1, Submit to American domination. 2, Attack.

真珠湾攻撃の１０か１５年前位から、アメリカの政策はだんだん日本を封じ込める事でした。それで、日本の選択道は二つしか有りませんでした。１、アメリカの支配に服従します。２、攻撃します。

Imperial Japan chose attack. The result was military defeat. America simply was too powerful then.

帝国日本は攻撃の道を選択しました。その結果は、敗戦でした。当時のアメリカは強過ぎました。

The American view is that Japanese troops did many terrible things everywhere they went. Again not true. The Nanking incident is true, it did happen. Japanese troops did kill many Chinese, and many Chinese women were raped.

アメリカの考えは、日本軍はどこでもいっぱいひどい事をしました。また、そうでもないです。南京の事件は本当に有りました。日本軍は数多くの中国人を殺して、数多くの中国人女性をレイプしました。

But the Japanese Imperial Army itself was horrified by this. Steps were taken, such as increasing the amount of military police in further attacks upon Chinese cities. At Nanking, there were only 17 Japanese military policemen to watch over 30,000 troops.

しかし、日本帝国陸軍はこの事件で驚きました。もう一度そう成らない様に活動は有って、例えば、その後の中国の大都市に攻撃する時、軍警察の数を増やしました。南京では３万人の日本兵を管理する為に、日本陸軍警察は１７人しかいませんでした。

And the truth is, an incident on the scale of Nanking never happened again. And the truth is, the war in China became a guerrilla war. In a guerrilla war, there is really no difference between civilian and soldier, and the people of the land suffer much.

正直に言うと、南京で大規模の事件は有りませんでした。もう一つの真実は、中国の戦争はゲリラ戦に成りました。ゲリラ戦で普通の市民と兵士の違いはなく、その当地の人々は苦しみました。

However, In Thailand, I have the pleasure of meeting Thai officers who fought with Japan in WWII, they have very good memories of Japan. So does Indonesia. 5,000 Japanese troops died fighting the Dutch for Indonesian Independence after the war.

しかし、私はタイで日本と同盟した軍士官に会った事が有ります。彼達は日本について暖かい思い出が有ります。インドネシアもそうです。戦後で、オランダからインドネシア独立の為に戦った日本兵５，０００人ぐらいが死亡しました。

But Americans are still fighting WWII in their hearts. When I have conversations with Americans in Japan, they always tell me how terrible Japan was for Pearl Harbor and Nanking.

しかし、心の中で、アメリカ人は今でも第二次世界大戦を戦っています。在日アメリカ人と話す時に、いつもそのアメリカ人は日本が真珠湾攻撃、南京についてひどい国と言っています。

I would like to remind Americans of a few facts. As for Pearl Harbor, that Japan started war with no warning, American President Bush did exactly the same thing in 2003 attacking Iraq. With no declaration of war, 53 missile strikes were launched on Baghdad to kill Iraqi leaders.

ここで、アメリカ人にちょっと真実の事を教えたいです。日本が戦争宣言しないで真珠湾攻撃をした事について、２００３年ブッシュ前大統領はイラクで完璧に同じ事をしました。戦争宣言なく、イラクのリーダー達を殺す為に、バグダッドに巡航ミサイルを５３本攻撃しました。

The Americans felt that Iraqi's would welcome American invaders, if the leadership was killed. This was a very naive thought. In any case, the 53 missile strikes failed to kill even one of the leaders that they intended too. But they all hit something, some building. And people who were there were killed.

アメリカの気持ちで、リーダー達を殺したら、イラク国民はアメリカの侵入を喜びます。とても甘い考えでした。とにかく、その５３本の巡航ミサイル攻撃は、目標のリーダーを一人でも殺せなかった。しかし、全部どこかに当たり、どこかの建物を壊しました。それと、その建物の中の人達を死なせました。

Americans ignore this.

アメリカ人はこれを無視しています。

After the invasion, those Iraqi leaders went underground. The Americans arrested their families, their wives and children as punishment. In prison, Iraqi women were repeatedly raped by American soldiers.

侵略後、そのイラクのリーダー達はゲリラ戦をする為に隠れました。アメリカ人は罰として彼達の家族、奥さん達と子供達を逮捕しました。刑務所でイラクの女性達は何回もアメリカ兵でレイプされました。

After WWII, the British and Americans executed 1,100 Japanese prisoners for waterboarding. However, former Vice President Cheney says that it is OK for Americans to waterboard others, that is not torture.

So I get very angry at Americans who keep talking about how bad Japan was in WWII. And as I said, Japan had no choice but to attack America. It is a simple question. The territory of the United States is the North American continent.

And unlike the Imperial Japanese Army in China, American leaders have made very little effort to modify the behavior of their troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

それと、中国の帝国陸軍とは違って、アメリカのリーダー達はイラクとアフガンにいるアメリカ兵の行動を直す努力をあまりしていません。

And now America is continuing aggression against Japan. This TPP treaty is really not about free trade, it is about American economic, military and cultural dominance of Japan and other countries. I grew up in America, I know how they think. Americans always say that they accept differences, but the truth is different. America is very conformist country. Everybody must be the same.

現在、アメリカは日本に対して攻撃を続けています。TPP条約は本当に自由貿易の意味ではなく、アメリカの他国の経済、軍事、文化などの支配の意味です。私はアメリカの中で育ったので、アメリカ人の考え方を分かっています。アメリカ人はいつも違う考え方を受けると言いますが、真実は違います。アメリカはとても権威主義国です。皆同じ様な考えをしないと許しません。

Americans have always tried to dominate Japan, TPP is an effort to increase this dominance.

アメリカ人は昔からいつも日本を支配する努力をしています。TPPはこの支配をもっと強くする試みです。

And Americans always act towards other nations in this way. Every nation must accept American standards, the American way. And if a country wants to be different, Americans get violent. That is why Americans keep talking about attacking Iran, because they regard the 1979 Iranian revolution as a rejection of American culture.

アメリカ人はいつも他国にこう言う態度をします。どんな国でもアメリカのやり方をしないとダメです。それと、どこかの国は違う道を選ぶと、アメリカ人は暴力的に成ります。この理由で、アメリカ人はいつでもイランに攻撃の脅かしをしています。何故か、イランの１９７９革命はアメリカ文化を拒否したと思っています。

But we must do our best to protect Japan, and reject TPP. I think it is good to be friends with America, but I do not want to change Japan to the American way of life.

これから、TPPに参加しないで、日本の生活を守る努力をしなければ成りません。アメリカと良い交流をしたいけれど、アメリカの様な生活に日本を変えたくないです。

And about Pearl Harbor. The other day, my wife asked me, if I had been the leader of Japan, what would I have done differently? Well, not only would I attack with the Imperial Navy, I would postpone the invasion of the Philippines, and use that Imperial Army force to invade and overrun the Hawaiian islands. And six months later, I would have invaded India, which would have caused a revolt. This revolt would have destroyed the British Empire.

真珠湾攻撃についてです。数日前に妻から、もし当時私が日本のリーダーでしたら、どうしましたか？さあ、ただ日本帝国海軍で攻撃ではなく、フィリピン浸入を延長して、その帝国陸軍部隊をハワイ列島に進めます。半年後、インドに浸入します。それで、インド革命に成り、英国帝国は崩壊に成ります。

America would have to totally support Britain, and the American counter offensive would have been delayed a year or two, giving much more time for Japan to prepare a defense.

アメリカは英国の支持に力をかけて、日本に対して反撃は１、２年位遅く成り、その時間で、日本が防衛準備の為に利用します。

That is what I would have done.

私はそう言う風にしたでしょう。

アメリカの詐欺的な保険システム、TPPで日本に上陸！？ Will fraud like American insurance plans come to Japan with TPP?

Today, I have decided to write some true stories about About American health insurance. They come from the link below. This should give us an idea of what will happen to Japanese people if TPP is approved.

アメリカの健康保険システムはひどい！何年間で＄１３，８８４を払って、薬用クリームは必要な時に、値段は＄２７０でした。私の保険プランはたった＄７０しか払わない！カナダから８７％安く買いました！

この人は２週間おきに給料を貰って、それで健康保険料を＄８９払っています。彼のプランで、会社が半分払って、一年間で＄２，３１４を払っています。その会社で６年間働いて、プラン全部で＄１３，０００以上を払っています。健康的な３２歳で、６年間に医者へ３回位しか行った事がなく、別に問題は有りませんでした。

有る時、皮膚病に成ったので、医者さんへ行って、＄４０を払って、先生から処方箋で薬用クリームを買うように言われました。薬剤師へ行って、薬の値段は＄２７０でした。彼の保険プランで、自分のコストは＄１９９．８４でした。彼の生活予算で、とても買えません。家に帰って、ネットを見て、カナダから同じ薬で、サイズは倍で、カナダの保険なしで、＄７０で買いました。

彼のコメントは、”アメリカの保険システムはひどい！”。

そのリンクで、ちょっと下のjerfooさんのコメントを訳します。

彼の保険プランで、家族３人の為に、一年で＄１５，０００位払っています。有る日、頭を打つけて、傷口を縫う必要が有りました。自分の車で自分の医者さんへ行ったけれど、いませんでした。彼の医者さんのスタッフから、"Urgent Care"（応急手当て）と言う所へ行ってくれと言われました。そこへ行って、頭の傷を治療出来ませんと言われました。それで、病院の緊急室へ行って、針を８本縫う事をしました。数週間後で、保険会社から＄１，０００を請求されました。

このjerfooさんはとても怒っていて、そんなに高い保険料を払っても、その小さな傷でもすごい高い治療代を請求されます。

these are some pretty terrible stories. In fact, reading them, paying insurance does not seem to have any benefit at all, even for minor injuries or medicine, in the above cases, the insurance company does nothing. Despite those people having paid money into the plan for years.

この話は、ひどいです。正直に言うと、この話を読むと、アメリカの保険会社にお金を払う意味がないでしょう。ちょっとの傷と、ちょっとの薬でも、その保険会社は何もしないみたいです。この両方のケースで、何年間保険会社にお金を払っても、必要な時に何もしません。

And why didn't the injured man take an ambulance to the hospital? In America, ambulances are very expensive. When I lived in New York 20 years ago, a Japanese friend got injured. He took an ambulance to the hospital, an 800 meter trip. The cost was $700, with insurance.

それと、どうしてその怪我をした人は救急車に乗りませんでしたか？アメリカでは、救急車はとても高いです。私は２０年前ニューヨーク市に住んだ時に、日本人友達は怪我に成りました。彼は病院まで８００メートル救急車に乗って、値段は＄７００でした。保険が有っても、その高い値段を請求されました。

Oh, and the person who bought medicine from Canada? The US government, working to protect Corporate profits, is now going to make it illegal, a crime, to buy cheaper medicines overseas and from Canada.

それと、カナダから薬を買う人の場合？現在、アメリカ政府は、アメリカの製薬会社の利益を守るために、法律を作成中です。この法律で、海外から薬を買う事は犯罪に成ります。

What about uninsured people? In this political debate, members of the audience screamed out that such a person should just die.

保険のない人の場合は、どう成るのですか？この政治討論で、共和党候補者とお客さんの話で死んでもいい、保険に加入しなかった事は、彼のギャンブルでした。残酷なシステム、残酷な国です。

Frankly, I say that the whole American system looks like fraud. People pay a large portion of their income, and get very little or nothing back when they need it.

アメリカの企業は、日本のシステムを不公正な競争と言い、民営化にしなさいの要求が出ます。現在、日本人の寿命は、世界一です。TPPに参加すると、アメリカの３６番目位に落ちます。私達の親と祖父母は早く死ぬ運命に成り、私達自分自身もそう成ります。

恐ろしいアメリカの買い物客 Crazy American shoppers

Last week, a Japanese friend read my blog, and remarked on how I really criticize America. Well, I do. Why? Well, perhaps it is because Americans brag so much about being the world's best country, and try and force their views and culture on the rest of the world.

先週、日本人友達の一人は私のブログを読んで、”マックス、貴方は本当にアメリカを批判していますね！”と言いました。まあ、そうしているかも知れません。でも、何故？もしかしたら、アメリカ人はいつも自分の国は素晴しいと自慢したり、自分の意見と文化を強制的に他国に押しつけたりしています。

In my last few blog posts, I have written about the "Occupy Wall Street" movement, and how I am proud of them. I am.

最近のブログ投稿で、”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”運動を誇りにしていると書きました。誇りにしています。

And about the greed of American corporations that they are fighting. This is all true. But neither the "Occupy Wall Street" people, or the Corporate people, are the majority of American people.

それと、彼達と戦っているアメリカ企業の強欲の事を書きました。これは、全部本当です。しかし、”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”運動の人達、それとも企業の人達は、大多数のアメリカ人では有りません。

What about that vast majority of Americans? Well, I have to say, their greed rivals that of any American Corporate executive.

その大多数のアメリカ人は、どう成っていますか？正直に言うと、企業の幹部より欲張りです。

And to illustrate this, we have an annual shopping event at this time of the year called "Black Friday". Here are scenes from last year. Look at the video.

This year, they set a record for shopping. One woman even used pepper spray on fellow shoppers, in an effort to get an Xbox.

These are the majority of citizens of the greatest country on Earth? I am afraid I find nothing to be proud of in the actions of these people. I remember visiting America on a business trip in the 1980's. I spent a week in Omaha Nebraska.

これが、世界で一番素晴しい国の大多数の国民ですか？やはり、この人達の行動を誇りに思う事は出来ません。１９８０年代に、アメリカをビジネス旅行しました。ネブラスカ州オマハ市に、一週間滞在しました。

I am a historian. When I visited Omaha, there was an Air Force museum there. Also, the legend of the cowboy is central to American history, Omaha is one of the rail depot towns that cowboy's made their cattle drives to.

私は歴史の研究者です。オマハを訪問した時に、空軍の博物館が有りました。それと、アメリカの歴史の伝統で、オマハの鉄道はカウボーイの牛追いの目標所でした。

But the American company people did not show me these things. What did they show me, what made the proud of Omaha? The house of the richest man in Omaha. "Look!" they told me excitedly, "His garage has room for 7 cars!". I really didn't care. In fact, I was very disappointed in the emptiness of the hearts of Americans.

そのアメリカの会社員は、それらの所を案内しませんでした。彼は自分の街のどう言う所を自慢しましたか？それは、オマハ市の一番お金持ちの人の家でした。興奮的な声で、”見て！彼のガレージで車７台まで入ります！”。実は、私は全然興味が有りませんでした。正直に言うと、アメリカ人の心の空虚にがっかりしました。

And really, whenever I get into a discussion with Americans about what is good about America, their conversation always seems to end with talking about material things. If you visit their houses, they love to show off their things.

本当に、アメリカ人とアメリカの良さの討論する時に、いつも彼達の会話はだんだん物質に行きます。もしアメリカ人の家に訪問すると、彼達は自分の物をいつも自慢で見せます。

The "Occupy Wall Street" people are thinking people. They know that something is seriously wrong with America. In fact, I have read of appeals from them to the average American to not go shopping this Black Friday.

”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”運動の人々は、考えている人です。アメリカは本当に困っていると分かっています。彼達から普通のアメリカ人に、今回の”ブラック・フライデイ”で買い物を辞めて下さいのアピールを読んだ事が有ります。

It was crazier than every. Another point. I have often talked of incomes for Americans are either staying the same or falling. So how can all these actually pay for all that stuff. Well, there is only one answer for that, credit.

今回は、いつもより混乱でした。もう一つの問題です。私のブログで、普通のアメリカ人の収入はそのまま、それとも落ちていると書いています。それで、この買い物客はどう言う風にこれらの物を払いますか？その返事は、一つです。クレジットです。

And there is no way that they can pay it back. Eventually this system is getting farther and farther away from reality, and collapse is inevitable. Last Monday, I watched TV Tokyo's "Mirai Seiki Jipangu, they gave very good coverage to America's deep problems, focusing on the "Occupy Wall Street" movement. But at the end of the show, they said that immigration by Hispanics and Asians would save America and bring back prosperity. This is foolishness.

その借金を返す方法が有りません。このシステムはだんだん現実から離れていますし、崩壊は決まっています。この前の月曜日、テレビ東京の未来世紀ジパングと言う番組を見ました。アメリカの”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”運動とアメリカの社会、経済問題をきちんと見せました。しかし、番組の最後で、東洋人とラテン系の人々の移民でアメリカを蘇すと言うな結論をしました。これはとんでもないです。

Looking at those crazy American shoppers, I am reminded of the Roman Empire. In the Roman Empire, as along as an Emperor could afford to keep the people entertained with gruesome gladiator shows, and free bread, he could remain Emperor. But this bred a totally corrupt society, which eventually collapsed.

そのおかしなアメリカの買い物客を見ると、ローマ帝国を思い出します。ローマ帝国で、皇帝は普通の人々のエンターテイメント、例えば残酷なグラディエーターショー、それと援助的に無料のパンを渡し、自分皇帝の存在を守りました。しかし、だんだん社会は腐敗に成って、崩壊しました。

Americans like to think that they are the modern day successors to Rome. There are similarities. And like the ancient Romans, America is nearing collapse.

アメリカ人は自分達の国は現在のローマ帝国の後継国と考える事が好きです。似ています。古代のローマ帝国と同じ様に、アメリカは崩壊近いです。

The world is changing, I think we are leaving the Capitalist system behind. It is over. Certainly, there are no longer enough resources to support a mass consumer society for so many people.

この世の中は、急に変わっています。やはり、資本主義はもう終わりでしょう。確かに、現在の人口が多い地球に、大量消費社会を支える資源も有りません。

And Americans refuse to learn this. They will pay for this refusal by losing their civilization.

アメリカ人はこの勉強を拒否しています。それで、自分達の文明を失います。

By the way, a forecast. I have written about the Occupy Oakland movement closing down Oakland port. I have read statements from some Occupy movement leaders that on December 12th, they will shut down all US West Coast ports. Well, watch the news.

それで、一つの予測です。オークランドを占拠せよ！でオークランド港を閉めた事件を書きました。この運動のリーダーの話で、今度の１２月１２日にすべてのアメリカ西海岸の港をシャットダウンします。ニュースを見て下さい。

Well, what is Pepper Spray? Look at the chart below. U.S. Grade Pepper Spray is what is being used. People have experienced cardiac arrest, neurological problems, and even death from it's use.

In New York City, Occupy Wall Street protesters responded with an attempt to close down the New York Stock exchange by physically blocking the entrances. The attempt failed, but I was very impressed by the tactical direction given to the protesters. The plan was to force the police to help close down the Stock Exchange.

ニューヨーク市で、”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”の反動は、ニューヨーク株式取引所を半日で取引を止める試みをしました。作戦は、抗議者が入り口に立つ事で、ブローカーの出入りを止めるつもりでした。この試みは失敗ですけれど、この作戦の計画はよく作りました。作戦の一部は、警察の反動隊の動きを利用します。

The way to do that, well if protesters come, then the police put up metal barricades. The barricades would also block the Stock Exchange workers.

この作戦は、抗議者は株式取引所へ来ると、警察は鉄の柵の様なバリケードを立てます。このバリケードも、ブローカーの出入りにじゃまに成ります。

In the first video in the link below, the National Lawyers Guild preps people on how to be arrested before the attempt to close the Stock Exchange. The Guild will represent all arrested protesters.

I mentioned tactical direction. Who is doing this? If you ask Right wing Americans, they will say that it is Communists, Anarchists, and so forth. But the truth seems to be a lot of the activists, and the knowledge that fueled the anti Vietnam War movement of the 1960's and 1970's is still there. These people, with their experience, are directing this movement. They stopped the Vietnam war, they won back then.

I have often written very critical things about America in my blog. Well the truth is, America is often bullying some country, often bombing some country and killing people.

私はよくこのブログで、アメリカの批判的な事を書いています。真実は、アメリカはよくどこかの国を虐めたり、どこかの国に空襲したり、人を殺しています。

But with this "Occupy Wall Street" movement, I find something to be proud of in America. I do not think this movement will disappear. It appeared, and quickly spread across the nation and the world. Simply by removing the protesters from public parks and spaces they occupied will not stop the protests.

しかし、”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”の運動は、アメリカが誇りに出来る事です。この運動は、簡単に終わりません。突然始まり、すぐ全土に広げました。ただ抗議者を公園と街の広場に出入り禁止させる抗議を止めません。

And next year is election year in America, it promises to be very interesting.

やはり、来年の大統領選挙は面白く成るでしょう。

But why now? There has always been income inequality in America.

しかし、どうして今？アメリカの建国からでも格差は有りました。

What Mr. Greenwald writes in the link above, what has changed about income inequality is equality before the law. A key part of the founding philosophy of America is that all persons, greatly rich or miserably poor, are equal before the law.

上記のリンクで、グレングリーンウォルドさんが書いた事で、アメリカが収入格差が有っても法律で平等でした。建国父達の哲学の大切なポイントは、アメリカ人全員、超金持ちな人、惨めな貧しい人、皆は法律で平等です。

Well, in America today, very obviously this is no longer true. Over the last couple of decades, banks and financial institutions have funded politicians, and used those politicians to repeal basically all national laws and regulations governing their business.

現在のアメリカでは、この事はもう本当では有りません。最近の数十年間、銀行と金融会社は政治家に資金をまわしたり、この政治家達は銀行と金融会社の管理されている法律を取り消しています。

In turn, the banks and financial institutions have proceeded to commit economic fraud and crimes on a large scale. And this fraud and crime has hurt ordinary Americans.

真実は、この銀行と金融会社は大規模に経済詐欺と犯罪を行なっています。この詐欺と犯罪で、普通のアメリカ人は苦しんでいます。

Health insurance, mortgage loans, all types of financial transactions are no longer designed to help people or to provide a service, they are designed to take people's money. When 60% of personal bankruptcies are caused by medical expenses, something is very wrong.

現在、健康保険、住宅ローン、すべての金融取引は、人を助け、それともサービスを出すではなく、人からお金を取ると設計されています。アメリカの自己破産は６０％の原因が医療費で、これは何かおかしいでしょう。

When I was a High School student in America, twice I was hospitalized and had an operation. My family was lower middle class, my father never had a steady job. Yet the hospitalization did not destroy our family, we could somehow pay. That is not true today.

私がアメリカで高校時代に２回入院して、２回手術が有りました。私の家族は中級クラスの低い方、私のお父さんは安定的な仕事が有りませんでした。でも、その当時の医療費で、私の家族は崩壊に成りませんでしたし、なんとか払えました。現在は、違います。

In fact, I think what is new here, it is not simply that there is no more equality before the law. The rich 1%, through excessive health insurance fees, through fraudulent mortgage loans, are actively destroying the lives of American common people. The reason for this is simply to increase their profits.

正直に、私はこれで何か新しい事は、ただ法律で平等でなくなった事では有りません。大金持ちの１％、高い保険料、詐欺的な住宅ローン、強制的普通のアメリカ人の生活を壊しています。何故か、ただ利益を増やす為です。

The rich today are not rich because of brilliance or hard work, they are rich by defrauding the common people through unfair business practices. And the common people are angry. The result is the sudden appearance of the nationwide "Occupy" movement.

現在のアメリカのお金持ちは、技能、一緒懸命に働く事でお金持ちに成っているのではなく、ずるい商売方法で普通の人をだましています。普通の人達は怒っています。その一つの結果は、”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”の発展です。

And this is the truth for Japan of TPP. For American banks and financial institutions, Japan and the Japanese people are simply another nation to rob. And our leaders agree to this.

日本の為に、これはTPPの真実です。アメリカの銀行と金融会社に、日本国、日本国民はただもう一つの強奪する国としか考えていません。それと、日本のリーダー達はこれに同意しています。

In Japan, I think it is time to speak up.

日本では、声を出す時間でしょう。

TPPのサービスはどう言う意味ですか？ What does "Services" mean with TPP?

Prime Minister Noda has made his trip to Hawaii. However, there is great controversy over exactly what he said there. In Japan, before his departure, he said that Japan would only begin negotiations on TPP. However, the Americans say he promised full participation.

野田総理大臣はハワイへ行きました。しかし、彼はそこでいったいどう言う宣言をしたについて、強大な論争が有ります。出発前で、これから交渉を始めるみたいな事を言いました。ですが、アメリカ人の話で、完璧に参加する約束をしたと言っています。

I think the Prime Minister should make clear his intentions on TPP.

内閣総理大臣様は、TPPについてのつもりをはっきりした方が良いと思います。

However, President Obama is very direct, saying that there will be no barriers at all. He says there will be no barriers between the trade of all goods and services.

代わりに、オバマ大統領はとてもはっきり言っています。品物とサービスのすべての関税をなくすと言っています。

As far as goods go, I have many reservations. For example, I do not wish to freely allow US agricultural products into Japan. There are too many stories on how lax inspections are of the US meat industry.

However, there is another thing that seriously bothers me about TPP. And that is the word, "Services".

しかし、TPPについて、もっと不安している事は、”サービス”と言う単語です。

What does this mean, any American will have the right to work in Japan? For example, lawyers?

この意味は、どんなアメリカ人でも日本で働く権利に成りますか？例えば、弁護士ですか？

At present, it is no problem for an American lawyer to practice in Japan. But he must pass the Japanese Bar Examination, which means that his Japanese must be excellent.

現在、アメリカ人弁護士は、日本で仕事をする事に対して問題が有りません。勿論、司法試験に合格しないとダメです。それと、素晴しい日本語は必要です。

So, if TPP is signed, will Americans in the future sue in various professions, saying that requiring Japanese language ability is discriminatroy? Will Americans in various fields sue, saying that the Japanese examination and certification process is discriminatory?

それで、日本はTPPに参加すると、将来に、色々な職業で、アメリカ人が日本で働くのに日本語が必要という条件は差別と、裁判にかけますか？日本の試験と証明書システムは差別と裁判にかけますか？

I was born and grew up in America, I know that many Americans behave in this way. They do not wish to study extra hard to fit into an environment, instead they sue to get a position as they are, without extra effort.

私はアメリカ生まれ育ちです。ほとんどのアメリカ人はそう言うな事をすると良く分かります。どこかの環境に入る為に一緒懸命勉強をする事ではなく、裁判をかけると言う意味は、自分はそのままで、努力しないで、その仕事をとりたい気持ちが有ります。

But I think one big part of the word services is America's financial and banking industry. Years of bad practices have left them broke. I am sure that they want access to Japanese funds.

たぶん、この”サービス”と言う単語の大きい意味は、アメリカの金融と銀行業界です。何年間悪い取引をして、破産が近いです。日本の資金にアクセスをしたいと言う事は確かでしょう。

However, American financial institutions still continue their dangerous trades. So after destroying the American economy, will they destroy Japan?

しかし、アメリカ金融会社はそのまま危険な取引をまだ行なっています。アメリカ経済が崩壊してから、日本経済を崩壊させますか？

I think so.

そう思います。

Looking at TPP, and understanding American thinking, I think that this is more than a simple free trade agreement. This is the combination of several different nations into one.

TPPを考えると、アメリカ人の考え方を分かり、このTPPは自由貿易だけの話ではないでしょう。これは、いくつかの国を一つの最大な国に合併する事でしょう。

In the free trade agreement with South Korea, America has stipulated that American courts only will be able to resolve disputes.

アメリカと韓国のFTAで、問題が有る時に、解決はアメリカ裁判のみで決めます。

That is very unfair. It reduces Korea to a colony. In TPP, will Japan also become a colony? I think America will eventually make such proposals, that American courts resolve all disputes. That all disputes must be contested in court in English.

これはとても不公正です。これで、韓国は植民地に成ります。じゃ、TPPで、日本はもう一つの植民地に成りますか？自分の考えで、そのうちアメリカはそう言うな提案を言うでしょうし、どんなTPPについての問題でもアメリカ裁判で解決する事に成るでしょう。勿論、英語のみで裁判を行ないます。

To the American mind, their system is the best. But there has always been an American philosophy to change the entire world into copies of America. To American thinking, this would ensure world peace and prosperity.

アメリカ人の考え方で、アメリカのシステムは一番良いです。しかし、昔から、有るアメリカの哲学は、世界の国々にアメリカのコピーを作る気持ちが有ります。アメリカ人の考えで、これで豊かな、平和世界が出来ます。

This is the American philosophy of American exceptionalism.

これは、アメリカ例外主義（アメリカ特別さ）の哲学です。

Yet American failure to regulate corporations has created conditions inside America that are pulling America towards complete collapse.

しかし、アメリカの政府はアメリカ企業の管理の失敗で、アメリカ国内状態は国の完璧崩壊へ引っぱっています。

I do not wish for this to happen to Japan. That is why we should look long and hard at TPP, and in the end reject it to preserve our independence as a nation.

日本はこう成ってほしくないです。この理由で、TPPをよく、細かく勉強して、それで、拒否して、日本国独立を守るべきです。

アメリカは本当にTPPを交渉しますか？ Will America truly negotiate TPP?

So. Prime Minister Noda says that Japan will begin negotiations to join TPP. He is also saying that Japan will protect certain areas.

ああそうか。野田総理大臣はTPPに参加する交渉を始めると宣言しました。日本の色々な事を守ると言っています。

Really.

ああそうですか。

Let us go back to what was said by America last January.

この前一月に、アメリカはどう言う宣言をしたのかを読みましょう。

Note the first paragraph in the link. It says America has already given Japan special treatment, so Japan must eliminate all tariffs.

リンクの最初のパラグラフをよく読んで下さい。この話は、アメリカはもう日本に今まで特別扱いをしていますから、日本はこれから関税をなくす事は必要です。

Personally, I can sense a deep American frustration with Japan. To their minds, Japan is not obedient enough, takes too long to make decisions.

私個人としては、日本に対してアメリカの要求不満を感じています。アメリカの考えでは、日本は従わないし、解決するまでに時間がかかりすぎです。

At a guess, it is my feeling that America will impose restrictions on Japan, such as with selling automobiles in the US. But they will demand that Japan drop all restrictions.

私の推測では、アメリカは日本に制限します。例えば、アメリカ国内で、日本車についての販売をします。しかし、逆に、日本にすべての制限をなくすようにと要求します。

In these negotiations, America will bring up the security issue, saying that Japan has a debt to America for protecting Japan for so many years.

この交渉で、アメリカは軍事問題を出します。アメリカ人の考えで、アメリカは何十年間日本を軍事的に守っているから、日本はアメリカに恩が有ります。

This is ridiculous. Once the Japanese Self Defense forces were formed in 1952 a Soviet invasion of Japan became impossible.

とんでもない話です。日本自衛隊が１９５２年に結成されてから、旧ソ連の侵略は不可能に成りました。

China or North Korea have never been able to attack Japan. American forces are in Japan for America purposes, not Japanese.

中国とか北朝鮮とは、日本に攻撃する事は昔から不可能です。アメリカ兵が日本にいる理由は、アメリカの長距離での戦力投射能力の為にいます。

But in TPP negotiations, I think Americans will continually bring up this point to force Japan to concede on every item.

私の予測は、これからのTPP交渉で、アメリカは防衛問題の話で、どんなポイントでも、日本が譲歩する様に強制すると思います。

ウォール街を占拠せよ！のカリフォルニア州オークランド市の暴動事件 Occupy Wall street riots in Oakland California

Occupy Wall Street protests are still going across the nation. Violence has occurred on occasion at various locations. Basically, particularly in New York City, police and protesters are trying to keep things non violent. However, in Oakland, things have exploded.

ウォール街を占拠せよ！の抗議は、まだアメリカ全土で続いています。場所によって、時々暴力の事件は有りました。基本的に、特に、ニューヨーク市で、警察と抗議者は暴力に成らない様に努力しています。しかし、カリフォルニア州オークランド市で、爆発は有りました。

About a week ago, the police attempted to prevent protesters from returning to their park encampment. Violence resulted. In response, the protesters decided to shut down Oakland port, which they did for five hours. 7,000 people participated in the shut down.

一週間位前、そのオークランド市警察は、抗議者達を公園のキャンプへ戻る事を止めようとしました。暴動に成りました。その反動で、抗議者達はオークランド市港を閉めると決めました。７，０００人で、その港を５時間閉めました。

Oakland port is the fifth busiest port in America. It exports agricultural products to Asia, and Japanese car and electrical goods imports land here.

オークランド市港は、アメリカで５番目の忙しい港です。この港で、アメリカ農産物をアジアへ輸出、日本の車と電化製品を輸入しています。

During the daytime, the Oakland port closure was peaceful, but late at night, violence erupted.

日中でその抗議は平和でしたが、夜遅い時間で暴動が起こりました。

Perhaps American political leaders hoped that severe winter weather would drive the protesters home. Well, in New York City, Winter temperatures range from minus 5 to minus 30 degrees Centigrade. I know, I used to live there.

もしかしたら、アメリカの政治家のリーダー達は厳しい冬で抗議者達は帰ると望んでいたかも知れません。ニューヨーク市の冬の温度は、−５℃から−３０℃まで有ります。私は昔ニューヨーク市に住んでいましたから、よく分かります。

Yet the occupy Wall Street people say they will stay. They have received at least $500,000 in donations, and are using the money to buy military type tents.

しかし、”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”の抗議者達は冬でも残ると言っています。＄５００，０００以上の寄付を貰って、そのお金で軍事用なテントを購入しています。

I do not think these demonstrations will stop so easily. And they are escalating. The thing is, they are disorganized, they don't have a set list of demands. But they are very unhappy, in present American society, they have no future.

この抗議はそう簡単に終わらないでしょう。それと、抗議は発展しています。まだ組織的に成っていませんし、決まっている要求はまだ出来ていません。しかし、抗議者達は不幸で、現在アメリカの社会で将来は有りません。

That the movement itself exists is very serious, it shows that there are huge problems in American society. And they now have escalated in response to police action.

しかし、この運動の存在だけは重大な事ですし、やはりアメリカ社会の中で大変な問題が有ります。警察の活動で発展しています。

On this blog, I have long written about the potential of Civil War in America by religious factions. Well, this is not Civil War, this is revolt. At least the beginnings of revolt. The Christian Fundamentalist movement, and the possibility of Civil War, is still there, for the moment, they are concentrating their energy on electing a Presidential candidate.

ブログで、私は前からアメリカの宗教派閥で内乱の可能性を書きました。この抗議は内乱ではなく、革命です。まあ、革命の始まりです。原理主義キリスト教運動、それと内乱の可能性は、まだ有ります。しかし、現在、大統領選挙の候補者に集中しています。

But what is now looking more and more certain, is America descending into chaos.

しかし、アメリカはだんだん混乱状態に陥っている事は確かみたいです。

There are those in Japan that say we must join TPP. Well the TPP agreement is very unfair for Japan. But look at America. Is it really wise to build such important ties with a country in such chaos? I think we should think about TPP carefully, and wait until America has internal stability. And then push for a more fair treaty for Japan.

日本では、TPPに参加するべきと言う人がいます。正直に言うと、現在のTPPは日本に対してとても不公平な条約です。しかし、現在のアメリカを見て下さい。こんな混乱している国と提携する事は大丈夫ですか？私の意見で、TPPをよく深く考えて、それとアメリカは国内安定が出来るまで待っていた方がいいと思います。その時に、日本の為にもっと公正な条約を作りましょう。

There has been much controversy about whether Japan should join the Trans Pacific Partnership, known as TPP.

最近、日本国内で、TPP（環太平洋戦略的経済連携協定）に参加するかどうかについて論争が有ります。

I am very against it. I am an American citizen who has lived in Japan for 37 years. I am now in the process of changing my citizenship to Japanese. I am also a member of the Japanese Democratic party. I joined the Japanese Democratic party in the hope to help create a more equal relationship for Japan with America.

私はTPPにとても反対です。私は今でもアメリカ国籍で、日本に３７年間住んでいます。現在、私は日本国籍に帰化申請中です。私は日本民主党員です。私が民主党に入党した理由は、アメリカと日本の関係を日本の為にもっと平等に作りたい気持ちが有ったからです。

If the Japanese government allows US corporation free access to Japan, Japanese society will be destroyed. This is very easy to predict, as American corporations have turned America into a third world nation. The life of the average American has become miserable, and this is increasing.

日本政府はアメリカ企業を日本国内へ自由なアクセスを許したら、日本社会は崩壊されます。こう言う予測は簡単に出来ます。何故か、アメリカ企業はアメリカを第三世界の国に変えました。普通のアメリカ人の生活は惨めに成って、アメリカで格差はこれからもっと大変に成るでしょう。

Americans are taking to the streets in Occupy Wall Street to protest the terrible treatment by American corporations. This is an extremely unusual act. The Free Trade agreement between Korea and America leaves all power in American courts. It is very unfair, Korea has become a colony.

アメリカでは、”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”運動は、アメリカ企業が普通のアメリカ人に対するひどい扱いを抗議しています。これは、戦後でとても珍しい事です。アメリカと韓国が結んだFTA自由貿易協定ですべての力はアメリカの裁判に有ります。とてもずるいですし、韓国はアメリカの植民地に成りました。

America is now in danger of collapse from two major problems. One is oil depletion, which will lead to American transportation collapse. 97% of American transportation is oil based. And oil is running out. America refuses to build a viable substitute transport system, such as electric trains. They insist on maintaining their present system of private automobiles.

This cannot be done, there is no longer enough time before oil becomes too expensive to replace gasoline powered automobiles with electric cars.

これは不可能ですし、石油が高過ぎに成る前に、すべてのガソリンを利用する車を電気で動く自動車に交換する時間も有りません。

The second major problem is, the entire American agriculture system is near collapse. Drought, caused by man made Global Warming, is seriously increasing in America. In a few short years, it will be impossible for America to feed it's population. Of course, they will not be able to export food to Japan.

もう一つの大問題は、アメリカ農産物業界は崩壊が近いです。人間が作った温暖化のせいで、アメリカ国内で干ばつは急に深く成っています。数年後、アメリカはアメリカ人全員に食料を与えられません。勿論、日本に食料を輸出する事も出来ません。

In Japan, we should work harder to increase domestic food sufficiency, and not depend on foreign sources.

これから日本は、自分達の食料自給率を上げる様に努力するべきですし、外国の食料品に頼る事は間違いです。

I do not see how America can avoid disaster. Please ask any American. They will say there are plenty of new sources of oil. The science does not bear this out.

私は、アメリカがこれより、大災害から抜ける道を見えません。どうぞ、どんなアメリカ人にでも聞いて下さい。彼達の話で、新しい石油はいっぱい有ると言います。しかし、科学を見ると、これは嘘です。

Talk to them about drought. They will say everything is fine. The scientific fact is that it is getting much worse.

干ばつについて聞いて下さい。アメリカ人は何でも大丈夫と言います。科学の真実は、急に悪く成っています。

Ask them about the economy, They will say everything is fine, when in fact it is corrupt and near collapse.

アメリカの経済について聞くと、アメリカ人はすべては大丈夫ですと返事します。正直に言うと、アメリカ経済は腐敗で、崩壊近いです。

If you challenge their conversation with facts, they will get angry and threatening.

アメリカ人にこの真実を言うと、アメリカ人は怒り、脅迫的に成ります。

The truth is, Americans are way too optimistic, I know, I was born there.

正直に言うと、アメリカ人は楽観的過ぎます。私はアメリカで生まれたからこの事をよく分かります。

What they refuse to tell you, cannot tell you is how America will survive the coming problems of Peak Oil and Climate change induced drought. This is because these problems are so enormous, Americans refuse to acknowledge their existence.

アメリカ人が絶対言わないこと、実は言えない事が、これからアメリカはピークオイルと温暖化の原因の干ばつからアメリカの生き残る道です。この問題は大き過ぎて、アメリカ人は無視しています。

Americans are ignoring facts, the big fact being that there are no longer the resources to maintain the present American suburban car based lifestyle. The age were such a lifestyle can be maintained is past.

アメリカ人は色々な真実を無視して、その大きい真実は、現在のアメリカ車／郊外のライフスタイルを守れる資源は有りません。そのライフスタイルを出来る時代は終わりました。

They will fight to maintain their lifestyle, they will drain Japan's resources to maintain it, but the facts are that it will collapse and soon. Japan cannot help America, they will have to deal with their problems themselves.

アメリカはそのライフスタイルを守る為に戦い、少しだけの期間でも守る為に日本の資源をすべて利用して、しかし、真実はアメリカはどうしてもまもなく崩壊です。日本はアメリカを救えませんし、彼達は自分達でその問題の解決を探しなければ成りません。

Mr. Prime Minister, TPP is very dangerous for Japan.

総理大臣様、TPPは、日本に対してとても危険です。

アメリカ、法律が死んだ国 America, the land where the law died

America, from the end of World War Two until about 1980, was a fairly nice country to live in for most people. The middle class lifestyle lived by the majority of Americans was the envy of the world.

第二次世界大戦の終わりから、１９８０年代までに、アメリカはほとんどの人が豊かな生活が出来る国でした。世界の他の国々は、アメリカ人の大多数のミドルクラス生活をうらやましかったでした。

And that lifestyle is now crumbling into dust. What happened? Well, we are seeing the rise of a Corporate State. In this type of county, the government is becoming increasingly irrelevant. Power is devolving into the hands of several large corporations.

現在、その生活は崩壊しています。アメリカはだんだん企業国家に成っています。こう言う国で、政府は無関係に成って、力はいくつかの企業の方に流れます。

The beginnings of the middle class that has existed postwar in America can be traced to the labor movements of pre WWII America, where pitched battles where fought to protect workers rights.

アメリカの戦後のミドルクラスの始まりは、戦争前のアメリカ労働者権利運動でした。この運動は、一般労働者の権利を守る為に、政府と戦いました。

It is an axiom to say that a strong middle class is essential for a nation to exist as a Democracy. However, since the end of WWII, there has been a quiet revolution going on inside America. This revolution was to repeal the laws that watched over business, and protected the existence of the middle class.

どんな国でも民主主義政府を守る為に、強いミドルクラスが必要と言う考えは、自明の理です。しかし、戦後アメリカで静かな革命が有りました。この革命の目標は、ミドルクラスを守って、企業を管理している法律を取り消しでした。

As we can see in the above chart, American business has succeeded dramatically. And the lives of average Americans are becoming an increasing hell of struggling to stay alive.

上記のグラフで、アメリカの企業はこの革命に大成功に成っています。それで、普通のアメリカ人の生活はだんだん生きる為に、地獄の様な努力に成りました。

When I read the comments of Right wing Americans, they say this increasing income gap is the fault of the people. They say that people don't work hard enough. However, in America, higher education is getting extremely expensive. There is no national health care option, so getting sick can be kill you or destroy your financial status.

アメリカの保守の人のコメントを読むと、この格差は国民のせいと言います。彼達のコメントで、普通のアメリカ人は一緒懸命に働きません。しかし、アメリカで大学はだんだん高価に成っています。国民健康保険は有りませんから、病気に成ると普通の人の経済状態を壊し、それとも死ぬ人もいます。

Basically, the type of health care proposed by Republicans seems to be "Don't get sick".

基本的に、アメリカの共和党の健康保険プランは、”病気に成るな！”みたいです。

A conservative commentator in the New York Times, Mr. David Brooks, goes a little farther. He says that people who get seriously ill are an inconvenience since they cost so much money. They should just die. Mr. Brooks says that high medical costs are the reason for America's financial crisis.

Mr. Brooks makes no mention of the high fees charged by insurance companies in the US. No mention of the extreme amount of money that goes into the military. I wonder if he got sick, would he just die? Presidential Candidate Herman Cain has survived stage IV cancer. But he is wealthy.

ブルックスさんはアメリカの保険会社のすごく高い保険料を書いていません。アメリカの高い軍備費も書いていません。彼の場合、もし重病に成ったら、そのまま死にますか？大統領候補者ハーマン・ケインさんはステージ４癌を治りました。しかし、彼はお金持ちです。

I will say here it is true that average Americans are way too optimistic. When I first came to Japan, I was amazed at how hard Japanese people work, and how much money Japanese people save. In the America I grew up in, people were optimistic, believing that their income would always rise.

ここで、やはり普通のアメリカ人は楽観的過ぎです。初めて日本へ来た時、日本人は一緒懸命働いたり、お金を貯めたりしているので、びっくりしました。私が育ったアメリカで、普通の人は楽観的で、いつも収入が上がる事を信じました。

Thusly you would have people borrowing money to have frivolous things, vacations, or cars they didn't need.

この考えで、普通のアメリカ人は、不必要なつまらない物、休みの旅行、車などの為に、借金をしています。

Difficult economic times do come, hardly any Americans have cash savings, they only have debt. Economic down times wipe them out.

厳しい経済時代が来て、ほとんどのアメリカ人は貯金がなく、借金しか有りません。経済の悪い時に、破産に成ります。

The American political Right says that these people are stupid, they deserve what they get. Yet it is business itself that encourages people to borrow beyond their ability to pay. It is American banks and financial institutions that create mortgage loans that are designed to cause foreclosure after two years.

アメリカの右派の人は、この問題はその人達のせいと言っています。しかし、アメリカの企業は、普通の人に返せない借金をする様に促進しています。アメリカの銀行と金融会社は、２年で差し押さえに成る様に設計されている住宅ローンを作っています。

Are not these companies wrong? I do not believe we can trust American business. When a bank says that a homeless family is at fault for entering into a mortgage loan causes them to go homeless, and that loan was created by that bank, there is something very wrong here.

こう言う会社はやはり悪でしょう？私の考えで、アメリカの企業を信用出来ません。ずるい住宅ローンを知らずに組む家族がホームレスに成って、そのローンを作った銀行の話で、その家族の責任と言うと、何か悪いです。

When people get sick, they are often fired from their job, the company based insurance companies don't want to pay. Or they search for some reason to deny coverage, such as saying that the disease is a pre-existing condition. They do not care that such actions are often death sentences, they say it is the fault of people who get sick.

人が病気に成ると、よく仕事が解雇に成ります。何故か、その会社の保険会社は医療費を払いたくないです。それとも、他の理由を探して、例えば、保険契約のサインをする前にその病気が有った場合、保険会社は医療費を払わなくていいと言う状態を作ります。保険会社の立場で、この事で人が死ぬ場合が多くても気にしません。

In America today, one misstep, one mistake, or one bit of bad luck, you are destroyed. If you get sick, or lose your job, your life is over. And American companies easily fire people to save money. America is no longer a nice place to live.

現在のアメリカで、一つの間違い、不運で、貴方の人生は終わりです。病気に成り、リストラ、貴方は崩壊に成ります。アメリカの会社は、コストを減らす為に簡単に人をリストラします。アメリカはもう生活が苦しい国に成りました。

In my last blog post, I have written how the American political Right has gradually destroyed legislation to oversee financial transactions since 1980. This period coincides with the great transfer of wealth in the chart above, that is no accident.

この前の私のブログ投稿で、アメリカ政治右派（保守）は、１９８０年から少しずつ金融取引管理法律を取り消した事について書いています。この時代は、上記のグラフで見せている様に、アメリカの格差が増えている事は偶然では有りません。

In September, I wrote about how the American government barely averted government shutdown.

Only three congressmen out of 435 showed up to vote. The rest felt that their vacation was more important than affairs of state. Visitors to Zuccoti park in New York City, write about visiting the "Occupy Wall Street" camp, they see no signs asking for help from Presidnet Obama, or support for the President. The Occupy Wall Street people are angry at BOTH the Democratic and Republican parties.

下院議員の４３５名の中で投票したのは、３人の議員しかいなかった。その他の下院議員達の気持ちで、仕事より休暇が大切でした。ニューヨーク市のズコッティ公園の”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”のキャンプへ訪問する人が、オバマ大統領の支持でも、お手伝いをお願いでもの看板は一つも有りません。”ウォール街を占拠せよ！”の皆さんは、民主党でも共和党でも両方に怒っています。

Well, looking at that government shutdown mess, it seems that the American government has abdicated to corporate America. Certainly, the Obama administration has made no meaningful effort to prosecute any of the people or corporations responsible for the 2008 Lehman shock. They are still involved in the same dangerous financial transactions.

その政府シャットダウンの危機を考えると、アメリカ政府はやはりアメリカ企業に放棄されています。確かにオバマ政権は２００８年リーマンショックの責任が有った企業でも人を起訴する努力を一つも有りません。現在でも、その企業、資本家はまだ危険な取引をしています。

America is no longer a country of laws. It is instead a collection of corporate fiefdoms, with a weak central government incapable of enforcing the law merely looking on as the corporate fiefdoms accumulate more power.

アメリカはもう法律の国では有りません。代わりに、企業の領地の集まりです。法律を守らない弱い中央政府は、この企業領地はだんだん強く成り、その政府はただの無力の傍観者です。

To my memory, in the America I grew up in 40 years ago, the perpetrators of the 2008 Lehman shock would all be in prison.

私の覚えで、４０年前に育ったアメリカでは、２００８年リーマンショックの責任者はすべて刑務所に入ります。

Where is the courage of the Obama administration?

オバマ政権の勇気はどこですか？

And now the American government wants Japan to join TPP. Will this give American corporations unfettered access to Japanese funds? I fear so.

それでは、現在のアメリカ政府が、日本にTPP（環太平洋経済連携協定）に参加してほしいです。TPPでアメリカの企業は日本の資金に自由にアクセスできるように成りますか？私はその恐れが有ります。

Will the lives of average Japanese people collapse like the American middle class? I fear so.

アメリカのミドルクラスと同じ様に、日本の普通の人達の生活は崩壊しますか？私はその恐れが有ります。

Is the future health care system of Japan to run by private American insurance companies, where only the wealthy get comprehensive care, and the average person gets marginal care for a high price? I fear so.

将来の日本の健康保険システムはアメリカの企業の支配に成り、お金持ちの人だけ完璧の治療を受けて、普通の人は高い保険料を払って最低限な治療しか受けられない状態に成りますか？私はその恐れが有ります。

I cannot see any benefit for Japan to enter TPP with America. American agriculture is near collapse. The problem is not only oil, it is climate. America is entering a period of terrible extreme drought.

私はアメリカとTPPに入る利益を一つでも見えません。アメリカ農産業は崩壊近いです。問題は石油だけではなく、気候です。アメリカはこれから恐ろしい、ひどい干ばつ時代に入ります。

I do not think it wise for the Japanese government to believe that we can depend upon American food resources. We must look to ourselves, and massively increase Japanese domestic food production.

日本政府は将来の為に、アメリカの農産業に頼る事は危険です。自分達の日本国内食料自給率を増加するべきと思います。
Write your local lawmaker and tell them how you feel. And vote. Remember how your lawmaker votes, and use your vote accordingly.

貴方の地方の議員に、メールでも手紙を書いて、自分の気持ちを伝えて下さい。それで、選挙で投票して下さい。貴方の議員の投票歴を勉強して、それで自分の投票を選挙の時に使って下さい。

We must save Japan's independence, and protect the Japanese people.

我々は日本の独立を救うべき、日本国民を守らなければ成りません。

ウォール街を占拠せよ！ Occupy Wall Street!

A few weeks a go, a sudden, spontaneous movement started up in America, Occupy Wall Street. In few weeks, it has spread across the nation. Many labor unions have joined in voicing their support. The following unions have declared their support for the movement.

数週間前に、アメリカで突然な自発的な運動が始まりました。その数週間で、アメリカ全国に広がりました。数多くの労働組合も合流して、協力しています。下記の労働組合は、この運動の支持宣言をしています。

What is going on? People are angry. The charts below are from the website Mother Jones.

どう言う事に成っていますか？アメリカ国民は怒っています。下記のグラフは、Mother Jones と言うサイトで見ました。

As this chart shows, the income gap has increased dramatically over the last few decades.

上記のグラフで、よく見えます。最近の数十年間で、所得格差は劇的に増えています。

How as it affected people? They cannot live. There are stories here of people who need a room mate so that they can afford to buy food. There are stories here of students who graduate from University with impossible debt levels, and cannot find a job. And of course health care is also impossible for many. 1% of Americans have a very nice life. These are stories from the other 99%.

普通の人に、これはどう言う影響に成りましたか？生活、出来ません。食料を買う為に、ルームメイトの家賃収入が必要の話が有ります。大学を卒業しても、仕事が見つけらないし、学生時代の学費の為の借金で生活も出来ません。勿論、数多くの人に、健康保険は不可能です。１％のアメリカ人は素晴しい生活をしています。下記のリンクは、その下の９９％のアメリカ人の物語です。

This is not the description of a healthy nation. To me, it sounds like the stories I read of as a kid in America, of some third world country under the rule of a Communistic dictator. And with America coming to the rescue.

これは、健康的な国の話では有りません。私は若い時にアメリカでこの様な国の話を小説で読みました。どこかの第３世界の国で、共産主義みたいな独裁主義者がいて、アメリカがその国を助けに行きます。（勿論、そう言う物語で、いつも英雄なアメリカ軍が侵攻して、独裁主義者を殺して、その後その国民はアメリカみたいな生活に成って幸せに成ります。）

However, the reality is, this is America.

しかし、真実は、その困っている国は、アメリカです。

How did this come to be? It is very simple, and I will quote from the link below. In 1980, close to 100% of financial deals traded in America were regulated by government New Deal era legislation. By 2008, 90% of trades were exempt from any regulation.

The American political Right said we could trust banks and financial institutions to do the proper thing without regulation. Obviously, this was a mistake.

アメリカの政治の右派（保守）の話で、銀行や金融会社が何の規制もなしに、正しい取引をすると信用しました。やはり、これは大間違いでした。

Last month, I wrote about the cruelty of the Tea Party people, laughing at people who died because they could not afford health care. Well the rich people of Wall street laugh at those who are struggling to live. By the way, "Swells!" which in Japanese means 素晴しい！Back in America in the 1920's it meant a rich person.

先月、私は茶会の人達の残酷な心、健康保険に加入する事が出来ないで死んだ人を笑った事について書きました。ウォール街の金持ちの資本家達は、普通生活でも苦しい国民に笑っています。ビデオを見ると、"Swells"と言う単語が出ます。Swellは素晴らしいと言う意味です。１９２０年代で、Swellsはお金持ちの人と言う意味でした。

This spectacle of rich financiers drinking Champagne and laughing at people in trouble makes me think of Marie Antoinette and her comment, "Let them eat cake".

この風景は、お金持ちな資本家達は生活の苦しい人達を見て笑っている事で、私はマリー＝アントワネットさんと彼女の”ケーキでも食べさせて”の話を思い出します。

I cannot find it in my heart to laugh at person who is unfortunate. Perhaps it is because I struggle myself.

私は不運の人を笑う事は出来ません。もしかしたら、私も生活が大変で、それは影響が有るかも知れません。

There are people in Japan who say, the best thing for Japan to do is to follow America in every thing it does. I say NO! The American leadership has been very stupid. It has often been said that Americans do not study history.

日本では、日本の一番いい方法は、どんな事でもアメリカの後を追うと言っている人がいます。私は、NO！と言います。アメリカのリーダー達ははっきり愚かです。アメリカ人は歴史を勉強しないと言う話が有ります。

If you study history, you will understand that there can only be one result of the transfer of wealth in America, revolution. If you take away the means for people to live, they will revolt.

歴史を勉強すると、このアメリカの格差問題に対して、結果は一つしかない、それは革命です。リーダー達が国民にこの様に普通の生活が出来ない事を無視すると、革命が起きます。

Some years ago, under the Prime Minister Koizumi of Japan, and President Bush in America, well the Americans really loved PM Koizumi. He did whatever America told him to do.

数年前に、日本は小泉政権、アメリカはブッシュ政権の時に、アメリカ政府は小泉元総理大臣を大好きでした。彼はアメリカの命令通りに従いました。

Under PM Koizumi, the system of 派遣、or part time worker was changed. Now we have many Japanese young people working under this type of system. They have no hope of getting married or leading a normal life. By following America, we have created a dangerous potential for revolution in Japan.

小泉政権で、人材派遣のシステムは変わりました。現在、日本で数多くの若者はこのシステムで働いています。しかし、その若者達は、結婚でも普通生活でも望みが有りません。アメリカの命令通りを追って、日本国内で危険な革命の可能性を作りました。

After the Lehman shock of 2008, American financial companies and banks showed no inclination to stop their types of financial trades, derivative swaps and sub prime mortgages that nearly destroyed the world economy.

２００８年のリーマン・ショックの後、アメリカの銀行と金融会社は、世界経済を危機にさせた危険な取引、デリバティブスワップとかサブプライムローンを全然辞めていません。

Now these same banks and financial companies want access to Japan's funds. Again, I say NO! That is why I am very against TPP. The American financial business industry seems incapable of learning.

現在、この同じ金融会社と銀行は、日本の資金に手を出したいです。もう一度、私はNO！と言います。その理由で、私はTPPに反対です。アメリカの金融業界は、自分達の間違いを勉強出来ないみたいです。

We must protect Japan. As for America, this is their fight, we cannot help them. The United States of America is headed for very difficult times. But there will increasing pressure from the US government for access to Japanese funds. NO! The American government cannot manage their own country. We must protect Japan!

私達は、日本を守る必要です。アメリカについて、これは彼達の戦ですし、私達は手伝いを出来ません。これから、アメリカ合衆国はとても厳しい時代に入ります。これから、アメリカ政府から日本の財産に手を出したい圧力が来るでしょう。NO！アメリカ政府は自分の国を経営出来ません。日本を守らなければ成りません。

アメリカのシャットダウン：とりあえず大丈夫です。 US government shutdown, safe for the time being.

On Thursday the 29th, American time, the funding bill passed Congress, avoiding a shutdown of the US government.

９月２９日木曜日、アメリカの時間で、アメリカ連邦議会は政府資金法律制度を通しました。これで、アメリカ政府のシャットダウンの可能性は終わりました。

But there was something very odd here. Only three US Congressmen were present when the bill was passed. Everyone else was on vacation. So the passage of the bill only took five minutes.

しかし、何かすごく変な事が有りました。法律制度を通った時、アメリカ連邦議会議院は３人しかいなかった。その他の議員達は休み中でした。この法律制度を通す為に、５分しか必要なかった。

Normally, the US Congress has 435 members.

通常、アメリカ連邦議会のメンバーは、４３５人がいます。

So what is going on here? My guess is that it was a conspiracy. I am guessing that The President, Democratic Party leaders, and normal sane Republican leaders conspired to pass the bill without the presence of disruptive and insane Tea Party Republican members.

いったい、どう言う事ですか？私の推測で、陰謀でした。私の推測は、オバマ大統領、普通の良識のある共和党リーダー達、それと民主党のリーダー達が、破壊的な正気ではない茶会の義員達がいない時にこの法律制度を　通す陰謀をしました。

If you look at the Wikipedia link above, you will see that the rules of the operation of Congress require that a majority of members, a "Quorum" be present to conduct business. 3 members out of 435 is certainly no majority.

上記のウィキペディアリンクを見ると、アメリカ連邦議会のルールで、活動する為にメンバーの大多数、”定足数”と言う事、が必要です。４３５名から３名は絶対大多数では有りません。

Funding for FEMA, the issue that the Tea Party used to delay the bill, well funding for FEMA was cut.

FEMA、米連邦緊急事態管理局の資金、茶会はこの問題で法律制度を止める為に利用した事、FEMAの資金をやはり減らしました。

What do I see with this? I think the American political establishment, and the President, have finally realized that they have a revolutionary situation here. I have often written on my blog how the Christian Fundamentalist movement, using the front group of the Tea Party, wishes to make a Civil War in America, and establish a Theocratic state.

私はこんな事をどう思いますか？やはりアメリカ大統領とアメリカの政治体制は革命的な問題が有るとやっと分かったでしょう。私はこのブログで、原理主義キリスト教運動は茶会みたいな偽装グループを利用して、アメリカで内乱を起こして、それでアメリカで神政国家を作る計画が有る事についてよく書いています。

By passing the bill in such a secretive manner, I think the American power brokers in Washington are realizing the extent of the danger.

この法律制度で、この様な秘密のやり方で通る事を見ると、アメリカのワシントンの陰の実力者達がやっと危険性を分かっているでしょう。

This is good. After all, last month we had the Tea Party making their best effort to force the United States into default.

これは良い事です。この前の８月で、茶会は一生懸命にアメリカをデフォルトにさせる為に努力しました。

An American collapse would devastate the world economic and political structure.

アメリカの崩壊は、世界の経済と政治を破壊させます。

What could have happened in case of a government shutdown? OK, let me list some possibilities.

シャットダウンに成ったら、どう成ったでしょう？これからその可能性を書きます。

In a government shutdown in 1995, the following happened:

１９９５年のシャットダウンで、こう言う事が有りました：

In 1995, hundreds of thousands of Federal workers lost their jobs.

１９９５年で、何十万人の連邦政府従業員は失業に成りました。

Many government payments to citizens were halted, there was no one to process them.

その支払いをする人がいなかったから、普通の国民への色々な連邦政府の支払いが止まりました。

The military and and FBI remained on the job.

FBIと軍隊はそのまま仕事をしました。

It would be very bad, and in today's economic environment, further hurt the reputation of the United States, and the world situation. I am very glad that the US government could pass the bill, even if they resorted to a trick to do it.

シャットダウンはとてもひどい事で、現在の苦しい経済環境でアメリカの評判はもっと悪く成ります。トリックを使っても、この法律制度が通った事は嬉しいです。

However, the fact that the bill could not be passed by normal process indicates that the Tea Party/Christian Fundamentalist movement has much strength, and possibility to disrupt American society.

しかし、普通の議会行為でこの法律制度が通らないと言う事で、茶会／原理主義キリスト教運動の力を良く分かりますし、それと彼達のアメリカ社会を破壊出来る可能性が有る事もよく分かります。

And I am amazed at the attitude of so many members of Congress, with such an important law waiting to be passed, they went on vacation.

それと、こんなに大切な法律制度が有って、アメリカ連邦議会はほとんど休みにしました。

And this action is certain to make the Tea Party angry. I think we can expect more excitement in the near future in America.

それと、この活動で茶会の方は怒るでしょう。近い将来で、またアメリカで混乱が出るでしょう。

And remember, the funding bill has to be redone by November 18th.

後もう一つの事を覚えていた方がいい、この資金法律制度はすべて今年の１１月１８日までにすべてやり直しが必要です。

アメリカ、８月はデフォルト危機、９月がシャットダウン危機です。 In August it was default, in September, we have the possibility of US Government shutdown

Last month we nearly had America go into default because the Tea Party blocked crucial legislation to raise the American debt limit.

先月、茶会は債務限度を上げる重要な法律制定を止めて、アメリカはデフォルトぎりぎりでした。

Because of the Tea Party/Republican actions, America came within 12 hours of financial collapse. Republican leaders promised that they would never put the nation and the world in such danger again.

この茶会／共和党の活動で、アメリカはデフォルト、経済崩壊の締め切りは、後１２時間のところまで来ました。共和党のリーダー達が、再びそんな危険な政治活動を絶対しないと約束をしました。

Well, they broke their promise.

This time the fight is over FEMA funding. FEMA is the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Democrats want funds to be included for it, the Republicans want funds to be cut.

今回の争いは、FEMA、米連邦緊急事態管理局の資金についてです。民主党の方はその資金を現在の法律制定に入れてほしく、共和党はその資金をカットしたいです。

If they cannot agree and cannot pass the legislation, the US government shuts down on September 30th.

同意しないと、法律制定を決めないと、アメリカ政府は９月３０日にシャットダウンします。

The American Democratic Party is particularly angry. They feel that the President has compromised too much with the Republicans. The thing is here, as I have written before, the American Republican party is dominated by the Tea Party, which is in turn controlled by business interests and the Christian Fundamentalist movement.

アメリカの民主党はとても怒っています。オバマ大統領は共和党に妥協をやり過ぎと考えています。問題の一つは、アメリカの共和党は茶会で支配されていますし、茶会は有る企業とアメリカ原理主義キリスト教運動で支配されています。

The Christian Fundamentalist movement wants to turn America into a Theological state. From what I have read of the statements of such Tea Party politicians, they regard bipartisanship, the compromise and cooperation between the Democratic and Republican parties for the good of the nation, as a sin. They have often stated that they will use force to achieve their goals.

原理主義キリスト教運動は、アメリカを神政国家に作りたいです。私は茶会の政治家の色々な話を読んで、彼達の考えで、超党派、国の為に、民主党と共和党の妥協、協力の事が罪と考えています。自分達の目標を現実にする為に、実力行使をよく言っています。

The more this happens, the greater the chance for a misstep, and American, then worldwide financial collapse.

こう言う政治的な争いが有ると、間違いのチャンスが増えて、それでアメリカ、次に、世界の経済崩壊に成ります。

President Obama has tried to reassure Prime Minister Noda that America is a trustworthy partner. However, America seems to be unable to cease playing these dangerous games.

オバマ大統領は、日本の野田総理大臣にアメリカは信頼的なパートナーと安心させる努力をしてます。しかし、アメリカはこんな危険のゲームを辞められないみたいです。

In any case, the legislation will only fund the United States government up to November 18th, before that, they have to find more money.

とにかく、この法律制定はアメリカ政府に今年１１月１８日までの資金を出さないで、その前に、もっと資金の方法を考えなければなりません。

アメリカ茶会の残酷さ　The cruelty of the Tea Party

Last monday, there was an appearance of the Republican candidates for President of the United States of America on CNN television. I have long written on this blog about the Tea Party and how it is backed by the Christian Fundamentalist movement and a few big businesses.

この前の月曜日に、アメリカ共和党候補達はCNNテレビで討論が有りました。このブログで、私はよく茶会について書いています。例えば、黒幕は、原理主義キリスト教といくつかのアメリカの企業が行なっています。

But what about the average members of the Tea Party? Well, from what I have seen, they are very cruel and mean spirited people. And during that CNN appearance an incident happened that shocked me. Towards the end of the show, Wolf Blitzer, a CNN reporter asked a hypothetical question of Representative Ron Paul.

しかし、普通の茶会の人はどう言う人ですか？私が見たのは、やはり彼達は残酷、心が狭い人達でした。そのCNN番組途中で、一つの出来事が有って、私はショックに成りました。番組の終わり位で、CNNレポーター　ウルフ・ブリッツァーさんは、候補者ロン・ポールさんに仮想的な質問を聞きました。

The question, about health care was, "What would do with the case of a healthy 30 year old man with a good job, decides that he does not want to have health care. He suddenly gets sick, goes into a coma, and without immediate hospitalization he will die." The question was should this man receive hospitalization.

質問は、国民健康保険プランについてでした。こう言う質問でした：”有る３０歳の男性、良い仕事が有って、会社の保険に入りたくないです。しかし、突然、病気に成り、昏睡状態に成って、入院しないと死にます。”質問は、保険がなくても、この人に治療するべきですか？

Congressman Ron rather dodged the question. He said it is individual responsibility. However Mr. Blitzer asked him directly, "Would you let this person die?" Again, the Congressman tried to avoid a direct answer. But it was the reaction of the studio audience that really surprised me.

候補者ロン・ポールさんは質問を避けました。しかし、ブリッツァーさんはもっとはっきりに、”この人は保険がないから、そのまま死んでもいいですか？”と聞きました。もう一度、候補の議員さんははっきり返事をしない様でしたが、スタジオ内の観客の反応で本当に驚きました。

In answer to the question, "Would you let this man die?" several people in the studio audience called out "Yeah!". That means they care so little about another American, another human being, that he should die because he chose not to buy health insurance.

その質問にたいして、”この人、そのまま死んでもいいですか？”　観客の方から、何人かは、”いいじゃない！”と叫びました。その意味は、その人達は本当に心が冷たく、有る人が保険に加入しなくても死んでもいいと考えています。

There are several main debates going on in American society, and the issue of whether to have a national health insurance plan is one.

現在、アメリカ社会でいくつかの討論が有り、国民健康保険プランを作るかどうかは、大きな討論です。

And Right wing anger has not been limited to this incident.

This next incident really upset me. It happened in Chicago, the city I was born in. A local Congressman was holding a town hall meeting to present his case for National Health care.

この次の事件で、私は本当に動揺しました。私が生まれたシカゴで有りました。有る下議院は、タウンホール・ミーティングで、どうして国民健康保険プランが必要なのかの説明会を行ないました。

As a speaker, he brought a married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Hough. Their situation was, their son's wife had died. She had become pregnant at the age of 24, and could not afford health care. She contacted pneumonia, and died, along with the baby.

スピーカーとして、有る夫婦を紹介しました、ハフさんでした。彼達の問題は、息子の花嫁さんは亡くなりました。彼女は２４歳で妊娠して、会社の保険が高くて加入出来ませんでした。肺炎に成って、彼女と子宮の中の赤ちゃんが死にました。

The reaction of the Tea Party people? They laughed and jeered, saying it was the family's fault.

このミーティングの茶会の人達の反応はどうでしたか？笑ったり、その夫婦にからかったりでした。その家族のせいと言っていました。

What is wrong with Americans? Well some Americans. The Tea Party is about 18% of Americans.

Today's world is very interconnected. America has many problems, such as global warming induced drought, and financial collapse. Well, in today's world, America's troubles are also Japan's problems. And they also affect the rest of the world.

現在の世界は、つながっています。現在のアメリカはいっぱい問題が有り、例えば、経済崩壊と人間が作った温暖化のせいで干ばつです。現在の接続の世界で、アメリカの問題は、日本と世界の他の国に来ます。

It is now being said that the Tea Party is the strongest driving force in American politics. But what are we to do when this driving force is made up of such cruel and selfish people, who laugh at the misfortune and deaths of their own citizens?

現在、アメリカの政治運動の中で、茶会は一番強いと言う話が有ります。しかし、この一番強い政治運動のメンバーがこう言うわがまま、残酷な人達の場合、自分の国の国民の不運と死に対して笑う、どうしたらいいですか？

If the Tea Party members can be so terrible to Americans, how will Tea Party people think of Japan?

もし、茶会の人達は自分の仲間のアメリカ人にこんなに恐ろしいでしたら、日本に対して茶会はどう思いますか？

いったい、アメリカはどう成っているのですか？ Just what is going on with America?

Recently, I saw an article in the news that the United States postal service is nearly bankrupt. Well the US postal service does not have a bank like the Japanese system does, or insurance.

最近、電子新聞の記事で、アメリカ合衆国郵便公社はまもなく破産と言う事を読みました。まあ、アメリカ合衆国郵便公社は、日本みたいに貯金でも保険でも扱っていません。

However, I think a postal service is an essential service of the nation, and should be maintained. There are some services that need to remain in government, not private, hands. And private companies only think of profit, not a comprehensive, nationwide service.

しかし、郵便局は国の基本的なサービスでしょう？やはり、有る機関は民営化より絶対に国営化でするべきと思います。民営化の会社は自分達の利益しか考えないで、完璧に全国のサービスを考えません。

The article says that the US postal Service could close this year.

その記事によると、アメリカ合衆国郵便公社は今年中に活動停止に成る可能性が高いです。

What is happening to America? Almost every day I read some aspect of American decline in the news. Yet with all America's financial troubles, America is sending billions of dollars of military equipment to Afghanistan. Afghanistan cannot pay for this equipment, and they do not have soldiers trained to use it.

いったい、アメリカはどう成るのですか？ほとんど毎日ニュースで、アメリカの下落の記事が書かれています。しかし、こんなに大変な経済の状態でも、アメリカ政府がアフガンに何１０億ドルの軍備費を送っています。アフガンはこの軍備費の支払いを出来ないし、その軍備を利用出来る訓練を受けている兵士もいません。

When is America going to understand that this is a hopeless and useless war? The only solution is to just leave. When America thinks about relations with a country, it seems they can only think in terms of bases and military equipment.

この戦争は完璧に望みがなく、無駄な戦いと、アメリカはいつ理解するのですか？解決は一つだけ、ただ撤退する事です。やはり、アメリカ人は別の国と交流すると、軍備と軍基地しか考えられないです。

What about in American politics, what are Presidential candidates saying?

アメリカ国内政治で、アメリカ大統領選挙の候補者達はどう言う話をしていますか？

Well President Obama seems to have the strategy of saying that his Right Wing opposition is dangerously crazy. This is true but, I wish that President Obama had some actual accomplishments in three years. He compromises with the Right too much.

オバマ大統領の戦略は、共和党の候補者達が愚かで危険な人物と言うみたいです。それは本当ですけれど、オバマ大統領はこの３年間で何かちゃんと出来た事がないから、ちょっとがっかりしています。彼は右派(共和党）と妥協をやり過ぎです。

Mitt Romney seems to be concentrating on not angering the Tea Party. That plan is not working too well. He is a Morman, they will not like him no matter how smart he is. Actually, these days on the American Right, being an intelligent political candidate is a handicap. American Right wing voters feel that intelligence is a sign of Elitism, and that you are not an average person. They don't like that, they want people just as stupid as they are.

ミット・ロムニー氏は茶会を怒らせない様に努力しています。その戦略は、あまり上手く行っていません。彼はモルモン教ですし、彼はどんなに頭が良くても、茶会は彼を嫌います。実は、現在のアメリカ政治の右派（共和党）で、候補者が知性が有る事は不利な条件です。アメリカの右派の投票者の気持ちで、知性が有る人はエリート主義です。右派の投票者達はそんな人を嫌いですし、自分と同じ様な愚かな人が欲しいです。

Michelle Bachmann says that US Corporations should not pay any tax. This is the "trickle down" theory of economics. Basically it means that if rich people pay less taxes and have more money, their spending will cause economic activity and more jobs. The actual result is that America has one of the greatest income gaps in the world. And the American Middle Class is dying.

ミシェル・バックマンさんの考えで、アメリカの法人税はすべてゼロにした方がいいと言っています。これは、経済のトリクルダウン理論です。基本的に、この論理は、お金持ちの人は税金が低いともっとお金を使います。それで、経済活動が増えて、仕事が増えます。実際の結果は、アメリカは世界の中で強大な収入格差に成りました。それと、アメリカのミドルクラスはだんだん絶滅に成ります。

And, there is not enough money to pay for a postal service, who will cover it then? The only solution I can see to Michelle Bachmann's plan is that taxes rise for the average person.

To save money, Michelle Bachmann wants to eliminate the Department of Education and all public schools.

Academically, American children are already the worst educated in the First World. Michelle Bachmann says that parents should educate their children not schools. This seems to be their plan. And in my point of view, looking at things now, they have a strong possibility of winning the election.

その共和党の候補者の計画は、その物みたいです。それで、私の意見で、このペリー知事、それともバックマンさんは、現在当選する可能性が強く有ります。

I have many Japanese friends who have long admired America, they ask me what has happened. Frankly, when two of the major candidates to be President of the United States are such crackpots, I think it is a sad day for America.

私は、アメリカを魅力的な国と考えている日本人の友達が多いです。彼達からよく、”アメリカはどうしたんですか？”と聞かれています。正直に言うと、アメリカ合衆国大統領選挙に、この二人のメジャー候補者はこの様な狂気じみた人達、アメリカにたいして悲しい時期でしょう。

We have had enough of stupid Presidents with George Bush. America cannot survive another idiot President.

American Vice President Biden has just wrapped a tour to Japan, China, and Mongolia. I could not help but notice that he spent twice as much time in China than Japan.

Well China does have a lot more money invested in bonds than Japan. But I cannot help feel that Americans take Japan for granted. Too many Americans think of Japan as a colony that will simply obey orders.

Vice President Biden made his trip to reassure us in Asia that America is all right despite the close call at default. However, as I have written, the near default this month was due to political movements by the hard right Republican party. The Republican party in America is now controlled by Christian Fundamentalist elements through the Tea Party.

バイデン副大統領は、アジアの国々に、最近のぎりぎりデフォルト問題でも、アメリカは大丈夫と安心させる理由で行きました。しかし、私はこのブログで書いた様に、今月のぎりぎりデフォルトはアメリカの超右派共和党の政治的なわざとの活動でした。現在のアメリカ共和党は茶会で支配されているし、茶会は原理主義キリスト教で支配されています。

They want radical change that amounts to Civil War in America. They have indicated how they will use this type of political maneuver, pushing issues to the limit, again. In effect, they are promising more political turmoil.

この超右派の目標は、極端的にアメリカ社会を変化させて、内乱でも成る様なつもりです。彼達の宣言で、この様な政治活動、色々な問題を限界まで戦い、また行なうと言っています。実は、これからもっと政治的な混乱を約束しています。

So politically, we cannot expect any improvement in America's situation. In fact, we can expect things to get worse. And since the Christian Fundamentalists seem willing to go to Civil War if they don't get their demands, I think the political situation will get much worse.

American financial institutions have not changed their ways since the 2008 crisis. They are still doing credit default swaps, the mortgage market in America is getting worse, not better.

In fact, just this week, the New York State Attorney General was fired from a probe into the mortgage market.

In the Blogosphere, there is much frustration on the American Left with President Obama. He has not withdrawn from Iraq or Afghanistan. (despite announcements of an Iraqi withdrawal, there are still 46,000 US troops there)

アメリカのブログの世界で、左派はオバマ大統領にたいして欲求不満な気持ちが多いです。イラクでもアフガンでも撤退していません。（イラクから撤退宣言が有っても、イラクにまだ４６，０００人の米兵が居ます。）

Also, President Obama has not been able to fix the American economy. To be honest, I no longer think any US President can fix the US economy. It is in terminal decline.

President Obama is a decent man, but America has passed from the time where decent men can have an effect.

オバマ大統領は礼儀正しい人ですけれど、アメリカは礼儀正しい人が影響を与える時代が終わりました。

And if President Obama does not win reelection in 2012, then we are likely to have Michelle Bachmann as President, and Civil War.

もし２０１２年にオバマ大統領が再選しないと、共和党のミシェル・バックマンは大統領に成る可能性が高く、それで、アメリカの内乱が始まります。

So in Japan China, we are faced with a problem. We have a lot of money invested in the United States. Yet the United States is beginning to fail, and it is becoming obvious.

それでは、日本と中国は、問題に直面します。アメリカに多額の資金を投資しています。アメリカが機能しなく成っている事は明らかです。

What can we do? If we withdraw all our money, sell off the bonds we hold, it will trigger American collapse, and destroy the world economy.

それで、どうしたら良いですか？投資している資金を引き出すと、アメリカ崩壊に成って、世界経済を壊します。

On the other hand, Americans seem to be incapable of fixing their problems, or managing their economy.

逆に、アメリカ人は自分達の社会問題を直せなく、経済の経営も出来ません。

America cannot give up it's wars in Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern countries. They are hopeless wars that serve no purpose. There is no way that any kind of victory can be made. And in the case of Afghanistan, the Taliban were originally not enemies of America.

アメリカは、アフガンと他の中近東国の戦争を諦めません。この戦争は希望がなくて、意味が有りません。勝利の可能性も有りません。アフガンの場合、タリバンは最初からアメリカの敵では有りませんでした。

Yet like an addict, America cannot stop throwing tremendous amounts of money into those wars with no end.

しかし、中毒者の様に、アメリカはこの永遠の戦争に多額の資金を捨てています。

Perhaps we should remember that we are stockholders in America. Perhaps we should convert our cash investments into infrastructure investments.

もしかしたら、私達日本と中国はアメリカの株主と言う事を覚えていた方がいいです。おそらく、アメリカの国債をアメリカのインフラに投資する事に変化した方がいいです。

Sell the bonds, and use the money to build electric railroads in America. This will provide jobs for average Americans. This is something American corporations refuse to do.

国債を売って、その資金でアメリカに電気鉄道を造ります。この事にしたら、普通のアメリカ人に仕事を作ります。この活動は、アメリカの企業が拒否しています。

American collapse is inevitable. But we should try to save what can be saved.

アメリカの崩壊は必ず起きます。しかし、出来るだけ救われる物を救った方がいいでしょう？

And to get America to pull it's military back from overseas, and employ them at home.

それと、アメリカの軍隊は海外から撤退させて、アメリカ国内で雇用した方がいいです。

Perhaps this is the way to invest in America. Don't give money to it's financial institutions, but build something real. Americans, despite their denials of Peak Oil, will soon need electric trains to survive. They refuse to learn.

もしかしたら、これはアメリカに一番いい投資する方法かも知れません。アメリカの金融会社に資金を渡さないで、現実的なインフラを造る事です。アメリカ人はピークオイルを無視しても、早速に生き残る為に、電車は必要です。アメリカ人は学事にたいして拒否しています。

Well, perhaps it is time for China and Japan to act as responsible partners, and apply some "Gaiatsu" of our own.

もしかしたら、日本と中国は責任を持つパートナーの役割をする時間、アメリカに”外圧”をかける時間です。

Because if we do not change our ways, and simply continue to give cash to America, it is like giving cash to a drug addict. It will not help America, and American collapse will be certain. And the destruction of the world economy will soon follow.

何か変わらないと、そのままアメリカに資金を渡すと、麻薬中毒者に現金を渡すのと同じです。アメリカにヘルプに成りませんし、アメリカの崩壊は確かに成ります。その後、世界経済も確かです。

I think we should invest in American infrastructure, and reality. And save America and the world.

アメリカの現実的なインフラに投資するべきと思います。それで、アメリカを救って、世界も救われます。

アメリカ、デフォルト（債務不履行）しそうに成って America almost defaulted

At the very last minute, America avoided default. There was 12 hours left until the deadline. However, the spectacle of how what should have been routine legislation came close to destroying the world economy stunned people around the world.

ぎりぎりで、アメリカはデフォルトに成りませんでした。締め切りは、あと１２時間しか有りませんでした。普通の立法のはずの債務限度の同意は、世界経済を壊す危険性の悲惨な光景に成って、世界中の人々が驚きました。

And it is not over yet. The whole process has to be repeated in November of 2012, after the Presidential elections.

まだ終わりでは有りません。この全行程は、２０１２年アメリカ大統領選挙後で、完璧に繰り返す必要が有ります。

Basically, they are saying to the Democrats, give up and surrender to Republican domination. He does not understand the danger of what almost happened.

It is people with such thinking that were behind the near default in the United States. And they are not happy. They wanted that default, they wanted to destroy President Obama.

Part of the agreement to avoid default is to set a special Congressional committee to decide what to cut. Frankly, President Obama gave up a lot on social programs. Exactly what has not been decided yet.

デフォルトを避ける同意の一部は、特別な議会の委員会を作る事でした。この委員会は何を減らすのか決めます。正直に言うと、オバマ大統領は社会福祉をいっぱいカットすると同意しています。はっきり何をカットするのかまだ決まっていません。

But this is not over at all. There will be much fighting over what to cut, of course the military says that they cannot tolerate any cuts.

この戦いは、まだ全然終わっていません。何をカットするかは争いに成るでしょうし、勿論、軍隊の方からどんなカットでもとんでもないと言っています。

Yet it costs $800 to transport one gallon of gasoline into Afghanistan. The US military uses a lot of gasoline.

しかし、アフガン戦場へ一ガロン（４リットル）のガソリンの運送の経費が、＄８００（６万２千円）です。アフガン戦争で、アメリカ軍はガソリンをいっぱい使っています。

So the lives of average Americans are going to become more difficult. The American economy is further declining.

これから、普通のアメリカ人の生活は苦しく成るでしょう。アメリカの経済は、もっと落下するでしょう。

I understand that the Japanese government is buying more dollars to help raise the dollar yen rate. I must say something here. I think it is time for Japan to be more forceful with America. The social and political problems that nearly caused default are still very strong. And internal conflict in America is increasing.

アメリカドルを上げる為に、日本政府は現在ドルを買っています。ちょっと言いたい事が有ります。日本がアメリカにもっと強く、はっきり話す必要が有るでしょう。このデフォルトの問題の原因の社会的と政治的な問題は、まだアメリカで強いです。アメリカ国内での争いは増えています。

This debt ceiling agreement is in fact only temporary. When they do it all over again in a year and three months, we can expect the same fighting and problems. And the same desire of the Tea Party and Christian Fundamentalists to destroy America so that they can take over.

この債務限度合意は、一時的でしか有りません。後１年と３ヶ月で、同じ様な争いと問題が出るでしょう。茶会と原理主義キリスト教が、同じ様にアメリカを崩壊させて支配する希望も有るでしょう。

The Republican party of America has become insane. You cannot have a rational discussion with politicians who are driven by a destructive religious force. No matter what you say, they will answer that God is on their side, they are right, no harm will come to them.

アメリカの共和党は、もう正気では有りません。破壊的な宗教で推進されている政治家と、筋の通った議論も出来ません。どんな事を言っても、彼達の返事は、”神様は私達と一緒です。私達は正しく、私達は傷に成りません”。

America is no longer a stable country.

アメリカはもう安定した国では有りません。

I worry that Japan is too over invested in the United States. In a sense, we are stock holders in America. I think it is time to tell the Americans to clean up their society and get rid of the crazy religious people, or we will sell our US bonds and take our money elsewhere. And we should tell them to cease these useless wars in the Middle East that cost so much money.

日本は、アメリカに投資をやり過ぎと心配です。有る意味で、私達はアメリカの株主です。アメリカに自分達の社会を直して、頭のおかしい宗教の人達を管理して、そうしないと、日本はアメリカ国債を売って別の国に投資しますと、アメリカに強く言う時間です。それと、この”お金がかかる無駄な中近東戦争を辞めなさい！”と、言った方が良いです。

We must be careful, or America will pull us down as it sinks.

気を付けないとアメリカが沈みながら、日本を一緒に引っぱります。

アメリカのデフォルト（債務不履行） American Default

Japan and the rest of the world have been watching in amazement as America teeters towards default. Frankly, I am not surprised.

日本と世界の国々は、アメリカのデフォルトへ動揺しているダンスを驚きながら、見ています。正直に言うと、私は驚いていません。

As I have written, the Tea Party is in reality a creation of American industrialists and Christian Fundamentalism.

私が以前に書いた様に、茶会が本当にアメリカのお金持ちと原理主義キリスト教の作り物です。

In my previous blog post linked to above, I describe how the Tea Party are very against Social Programs. The present trouble comes basically from this. The Right wing of the Republican Party, which is the Tea Party, will only agree to raise the American debt ceiling if President Obama destroys Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

The Tea Party, and Christian Fundamentalists are very selfish people. They want their suburban life style, and are even against preserving endangered species if it is inconvenient to their lifestyle.

茶会、原理主義キリスト教の人達は、とてもわがままです。自分達の郊外ライフスタイルが不便に成ったら、絶滅危惧種の動物を殺したいです。

Recently in Florida, Tea Party people became very angry when the Federal government extended a protective zone for Manatees. They are angry because it will restrict their sport boating in the area.

最近、フロリダ州で、マナティーを守る為にマナティーの自然保護区を広げて、茶会の人達がとても怒っています。何故か、彼達のボートで遊べる地域が狭く成ります。

So of course the Tea Party people and Christian Fundamentalist people want to destroy any government welfare. They feel it only helps lazy people to live an easy life. They do not wish to use their tax dollars to help any one else, they want to keep all their money for themselves.

All this parading around in costumes is simply theater. But the Christian Fundamentalists and Corporate backers behind the Tea Party have their own goals.

この衣装で遊んでいるのは、ただの芝居です。しかし、茶会の黒幕、企業の社長と原理主義キリスト教は自分達の目標が有ります。

The Corporate people want to privatize Social Security so they can use the money for investment purposes. In the Bush administration, money was given to Church groups for social welfare. The Christian Fundamentalists want to control all social welfare in the United States.

企業の人達の目標は、社会保障制度に投資出来る様に、民営化をしたいです。ブッシュ政権で、社会福祉の為に、色々な教会が連邦政府からお金を貰いました。原理主義キリスト教が、アメリカの社会福祉を支配したいです。

If you are need of help, you will have to go to their church, convert and become a member to receive health care or any kind of assistance.

困っている人なら、ヘルプを受ける為に、原理主義キリスト教の信者に成らなければなりません。

Americans are just plain dumb. Too many Americans cannot understand that these programs they wish to destroy also help them.

アメリカ人は、やはり愚かな国民です。数多くのアメリカ人はこの壊したい社会福祉政策が自分の助けに成る事を理解出来ません。

Also, they are too dumb to realize that they are destroying the American economy, and then the world economy. They just cannot understand that the entire world is connected together. Of course, this is not all Americans, but about half.

The IRS will cease to function as they will not be paid.

The US nuclear arsenal will not be guarded as the funds will be gone.

アメリカの核兵器貯蔵庫は予算がないので、警備されません。

Federal prisons will have to let all criminals go. There will be no money to pay guards or for food.

連邦刑務所は、犯罪者を自由にさせます。警備員でも食料でも払う予算がないです。

The US border guard will go home as they will not be paid. All US borders will be completely open.

All US troops overseas will run out of fuel as there will be no money to pay for it. They will have no way of returning to the US.

US embassies will cease operation.

No Federal help in case of natural disasters like floods, storms, or fires.

The mortgage market will collapse.

住宅ローン売買は、中止に成ります。

The TSA will shut down, but there will also be no air traffic controllers, so there will be almost no air travel from the US internationally, or domestically.

The point to all these scenarios above is that Americans will not report to work if they don't get paid.

So is default inevitable? There is an obscure rule in a Constitutional amendment, the 14th amendment, that President Obama could use to raise the debt ceiling unilaterally. However, at this point the President says he will not do it.

I think the Tea Party, meaning the Christian Fundamentalist movement, is using this default to create a crisis and destroy the Obama administration. It is a step in their efforts to take over the United States.

I do not think they care about the damage they do to America or the world. For them, this is a revolution, it is a Civil War.

So even if President Obama uses the 14th amendment at the last minute to avoid default, the Tea party/Christian Fundamentalist people will take this to the next level.

それで、オバマ大統領はぎりぎりにその憲法第１４改正を利用しても、茶会／原理主義キリスト教は次のレベルまで発展します。

And eventually we will be looking at violence. And remember, the Christian fundamentalist dominate the US Army, and the Air Force. They have lesser influence in the Navy.

そのうち、暴力的な戦いに成ります。覚えていた方がいいです。現在、原理主義キリスト教は陸軍と空軍をほとんど支配しています。海軍は、そんなに強くないです。

America's future is dark.

アメリカの将来は暗いです。

I think there are many people that will be shocked with what I have written. Particularly Americans. However, while no one can say what will happen in the future with 100% certainty, I think what I have written is what will come to pass.

私が書いた事にショックを受ける人が多いと思います。特に、アメリカ人は驚きます。勿論、１００％確実に将来を予言する人はいないけれど、私が書いたこの論文が将来に真実に成ると思います。

Peak Oil is fact, not fantasy. Yet Americans refuse to consider it. The American diplomats who Mr. Al-Husseini spoke to told him to lie about the amount of oil in Saudi Arabian reserves.

It is spreading, and quickly. At $150, Japan could survive as a civilized nation, with difficulty. America cannot. America will quickly devolve into the scenario I have written.

When the price of oil reaches $120 to $140 for a period of three weeks or more, America is in danger. The collapse scenario I have written above will be over in about 2 months. The great danger for America is, they have always relied on Saudi Arabia to pump more to lower the price. This will no longer be possible, and no other country can take Saudi Arabia's place.

The reasons for Japanese strength are, the toughness and strength of character of the Japanese people. An electric train network that spans the nation. And, Japanese farmers and fishermen are not combined into mega farms like the US, food production will still be possible throughout the country.

日本の強さの理由は、日本国民の強靭性と心の強さです。それと、全国をつないでいる電車システムが大切です。その他に、日本の農家と漁師は独立ですし、アメリカみたい大型企業が入っていないから、将来、全国で食料生産が可能でしょう。

Yes, it is true that Japan will suffer some very hard years. While we will still have farm production, it will be some years before we can feed the Japanese population by domestic sources. But eventually, Japan shall succeed.

日本で、苦しい時代に数年入る事は、確かです。日本はまだ国内農業生産が有るけれど、国内食料自給のみで、日本人全員が食べる事が出来るまでに、何年かかかります。しかし、だんだん日本は成功します。

Here, American corporations, in the pursuit of profit, have seriously damaged America. Mega farms will disappear in days of oil shock. The rotting corpses of Animals will be a health hazard for nearby people. More importantly, the lack of experienced and knowledgeable farmers will be fatal to many communities that manage to survive oil collapse.

この問題について、アメリカの企業は利潤追求で、アメリカに巨大な傷を付けました。オイルショックが来ると、工場式農場は数日で消えます。近くに住んでいる人々に、その腐っている動物の死骸が病気の危険性に成ります。さらに重要なことに、石油枯渇の生き残りの町に知識と経験を持っている農家がいないので、死にます。

American domestic manufacturing has largely disappeared. It has been outsourced to other countries where the workers don't have rights, and work cheaply.

Thusly, in post oil collapse America, the only industries that will exist will be very small scale cottage industries.

Here is an opportunity for Japan. Since America will not be able to produce anything, Japan can supply America with, for example, electric powered vehicles. But Japan will also have to produce electric power generation equipment. It is possible, but not likely, that many US nuclear power plants will survive the oil collapse chaos. Everything will have to be rebuilt from scratch. Railroads will have to be electrified.

これは、日本のチャンスです。アメリカはどんな品物でも造らないから、日本が、例えば、電気で走る乗り物を販売出来ます。日本もアメリカの為に、発電設備を造らなければなりません。石油枯渇後で、アメリカの原子力発電所は、ほとんど使える状態で残らないでしょう。アメリカのインフラはすべて始めから、再建が必要です。鉄道も電気で走る様に、改築が必要です。

And before that can happen, there must be some kind of authority existing in America. American currency will have ceased to exist. The only way America will be able to pay for Japanese manufactured goods will be by a barter system, with natural resources.

この復活アメリカは、何とか政府を再び作る必要が有ります。アメリカの通貨は、消えているでしょう。アメリカの日本製造品に支払う方法は、物々交換で、自分達の資源を渡すしか有りません。

I mentioned the strength of character of Japanese people as a factor in Japan's survival as a nation. Americans have become a nation of selfish people. And willfully ignorant. They cannot cooperate with each other.

日本人の心強さを、日本国の生き残りで、大きな理由と書きました。アメリカはわがままの国民に成っています。それと、自分の希望で無知です。お互いで協力出来ません。

（私は、”自分の希望で無知です。”と書いています。この哲学、まあ、この考え方は日本人に理解し難いかも知れません。昔のアメリカで、普通の人の方が魅力が有りました。英語で、"I am just an average Joe."と言う言葉は、政治家が立候補する時に良く言います。普通の人と違わないイメージを作る事は、大切です。現在の茶会の政治家は本当に普通のアメリカ人と同じ様に無知ですから、数多くのアメリカ人はその政治家を信じています。アメリカ人は知識をもっていて、頭がいい人を信用しません。この事について、日本と全然違います。）

After The Great Tohoku earthquake, communities organized themselves in Japan to survive. This was before government help could arrive. This is impossible for most Americans. They will try to get things for their families, and their families alone. There will be little cooperation.

東北大震災後、多数の地域が自分達で組織を作って、生き残りました。これは、政府の助けが来る前でした。こう言う事は、ほとんどのアメリカ人に不可能です。自分の家族の為に、物、食料、水などをとり、他の人を考えません。ほとんど妥協しません。

Groups that I see that will cooperate to survive are the Hispanic population of America. The Catholic church is a great unifying factor. Also, Mormons will have great deal of survival potential. They store food, and will help each other as a community. The serious problem for Mormons is, the center of their community in America is Utah, which is a desert state. Drought will increase in future America, deserts will increase.

The people worst off will be White Middle class urban Americans. If they are not a doctor, they will not have any skill that is useful in the new America. There will be absolutely no need for lawyers or stock brokers, financial analysts, these people, if they survive will become farm serfs.

Americans refuse to believe in Peak Oil, they believe some miracle source of oil will be found that will allow them to continue living as always. They refuse to consider changing their lifestyle. This is the doom of America as a civilized country.

アメリカ人は、ピークオイルについて考える事を拒否しています。何か奇跡的な新しい石油源が見つかると信じています。それで、現在の豊かな生活を努力しないで続ける事が出来ると信じています。その生活を変わる事について考える事も拒否しています。これは、アメリカの文明国に対しての悲運です。

And even if Americans woke up tomorrow, changed their minds, and decided to build an electricity based transport system, it is too late. It would take 20 or 30 years, the present American system will be unworkable in only few years from now. America is doomed.

もし、アメリカ人が明日突然に目をさまして、新しい考え方をして、電気の公共交通システムを造り始めても、遅いです。新しいシステムを造ると、２０か３０年かかります。現在のシステムは、あと数年で不機能です。アメリカは悲運状態です。

In Japan, we have a long history. Japanese people instinctively understand the need to conserve resources. There has recently been some talk by commentators on television of the need to return the philosophy of reuse that was common in the Edo era. This is a good idea.

日本の歴史は長いです。日本は、本能的に資源を節約する必要が有ると分かっています。最近、テレビのコメンテーターの話で、日本は江戸時代の物を再び使う哲学へ戻らなければ成りません。これは良い提案です。

In any case, what is certain is, a lot of change is coming.

とにかく、これから大変化の時代が来る事は確かです。

I would suggest the Pacific Northwest, Guam and Hawaii would not be able to support their present populations.

Concerning oil, America has steadfastly refused to consider Peak Oil. Or to even think about reducing oil usage. Instead, America has used it's military power to try to control the world sources of oil. Also, US embassies around the world are engaged in a desperate political struggle to control the world's oil supply to the advantage of America.

石油問題について、アメリカ人はピークオイルを考える事を拒否しています。それとも、自分達の石油の利用量を減らす事を考える事も拒否しています。逆に、世界の油田を支配する試みで、軍事力を利用しています。世界中のアメリカ大使館の目標も、アメリカの利益の為に世界の油田を支配をとるつもりです。

As we have seen with the Iraq war, this policy is a tremendous failure. Now that we have Saudi Arabia running out of oil, America is totally unprepared for this catastrophe.

Many people may try to leave, but the only possible form of transport is the family car. Gasoline will be very expensive. In any case, American gasoline stations only keep one day's supply of gasoline in the station. As many people try to move, there will be price gouging by gas station owners.

大都市から出ようとする人は、多いでしょう。しかし、交通は自家用車しか有りません。ガソリンの値段はとても高く成ります。とにかく、アメリカのガソリンスタンドは、一日分の供給しか有りません。数多くの人が移動すると、ガソリンスタンドの経営者は価格のつり上げをするでしょう。

Fights will break out. Most Americans have guns. Gun fights at gas stations will lead to explosions and fires. The same process will be repeated at super markets in small towns outside major cities.

Gangs of Black, Hispanic, and Asian Americans will leave their ghettos in the cities. As the population of most suburban towns is White, there will be a lot of racial fighting.

People evacuating cities will in effect have only the gas in their tank. When it runs out, they will walk. Most Americans, especially the White upper and middle class, are totally unfit for physical activity. They will also not be prepared for the ferocity of non White gangs roaming the landscape. They will die.

Factory farms are designed for maximum profit. The animals are given antibiotics and hormones to increase growth rates. I have read of large hog farms that are sterile environments. No unfiltered air is allowed in from the outside. The germs in the normal environment would kill them.

The collapse of transport, and so few people engaged in farming, means mass starvation in the post oil era United States. Animal husbandry, and the growing of crops takes specialized knowledge and experience. In most regions of America, post oil collapse, these people will not exist.

The areas that will survive, will be areas with natural water supply. This will be the American Pacific Northwest, and the American Midwest north of the Tennessee southern border, and the American Northeast.

After a year or so of chaos, military units based in such areas of America will establish order. They will attempt to restart local farming. Most farm work will be done by hand. There will be no fuel for vehicles. The military will confiscate all fuel supplies, but as there will be no more, eventually the United States Army will use the horse as primary transport. Calvary will return in America.

So we will see many small fiefdoms emerged based on military units. Since the American Army is primarily a Christian Fundamentalist Army, most of these fiefdoms will be ruled according to strict Fundamentalist principles. Refugees from cities who manage to escape to such areas, will be forced to convert to Christian Fundamentalism, and will work as serfs on farms or other places.

将来のアメリカは、その軍部隊はだんだん小さな領地に成ります。アメリカ軍は基本的に原理主義キリスト教軍ですから、この領地は、厳しい原理主義キリスト教の法律で支配されます。この地域まで大都市から避難している難民は、原理主義キリスト教に強制的に改宗されて、その領地の農場か別な所で、奴隷の様な働きをします。
