Sandringham Flower Show

The Sandringham Flower Show took place on 31st July and, although the day wasn’t hot or dry the turnout was amazing.

We were very proud that our electrician Ted was presented to the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall for his contribution to the show over the last 22 years! Unfortunately we didn’t know this was going to happen and this is the best photo of the memorable event. Ted remains a man of mystery (that’s him at the back!) but we are grateful to all the crew who used their knowledge and expertise to ensure the Show ran perfectly.

The Secretary for the Royal Warrant Holders, who had a large Frame Marquee at the Show, wrote to us after the event saying:

“On behalf of our President and members of SARWH (Sandringham Association of Royal Warrant Holders) I must thank you and your team especially Ted and his colleague for all the hard work in ensuring everything went smoothly with the marquee at this year’s Sandringham Flower Show. I look forward to their help and assistance at next year’s Sandringham Flower Show, which is on 30th July 2014.

August continued to be busy with events such as the Wayland Show and Cromer Carnival where we are pleased to say that our cliff top marquees remained secure despite high winds at the start of the event.

The French Ambassador’s Reception

To celebrate Bastille Day on 14th July, The Ambassador invites French dignitaries and French residents of London to this prestigious reception held in the grounds of Kensington Palace. Every year we provide large frame marquees with beautiful linings, blue valances and ceiling drapes.

Sandringham Flower Show

The Sandringham Flower Show is now in its 132nd year and we have been providing all the large marquees for the majority of that time with sizes and styles of marquee changing throughout the years.

The Royal Warrant Holders have a Frame marquee but most of the other marquees are the Traditional style with canvas that keeps the interiors cooler for the exhibitors, visitors and plants. With temperatures soaring this month anything that provides even a slight drop in temperature is a relief. We shouldn’t moan, it is wonderful to see the sun and we hope it continues to shine on the thousands of visitors expected for a great day in Sandringham Park with the wonderful back drop of Sandringham House and Church

The Cambridge College Balls were a feature of this month as always and we were delighted to supply all of the marquees for the internationally famous St John’s College Ball again and help to make 2013 such a success.

Crowning the Cambridge Colleges’ social calendar, the St John’s Ball provided six stages for bands, DJs, orchestras, choirs, comedians, dancers, magicians and entertainments on the Backs.

We supplied frame marquees ranging from 3m to 20m widths in every court and carpet protection to all the grassed areas.

Having worked with St Johns for so many years our crew moved quickly, safely and efficiently to ensure the marquees and equipment were ready well in advance for the committee to theme and decorate all areas.

The Royal Norfolk Show

Congratulations to all involved in making this year’s Royal Norfolk Show such a success with visitors topping 90,000!

We supplied most of the large structures, including a 25m x 65m (82’ wide by 214’ long) Frame Marquee, as well as many small Traditional, Frame and Chinese Hats for the exhibitors.
