A drive upstate to the Finger Lakes region with Binny, Swap and the rest of the crew for the weekend. We ate. We drank. We sang. I learnt how to play American football. This picture was taken at Taughannock Falls which is about a half hour drive from Ithaca.

My lovely coworker Vishakha got married a few weeks ago on a beautiful Saturday morning by the beach on the Jersey shore. One of the ceremonies in an Indian wedding is the Pithi ceremony. It is a cleansing ceremony where a paste made of turmeric, rose water and chick pea flour is rubbed on the bride. Its intended purpose is to make the bride glowing and radiant for her wedding day. She was kind enough to let me take a few photos through the day.

Road Trip

Early last month, my buddies Goldy and CP talked me into flying all the way across the country to California, only to spend 5 hours there, and drive out early next morning. We drove up from San Jose to Whiskey Town in Northern California and then headed to the Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. Four days of hiking, trekking, fine dining at the Crater Lake lodge and plenty of nasty beer (Miller Lite? Really CP?) And because of the rather last minute planning, I ended up spending 12 hours bouncing from airport to airport all over country, before finally hitting LGA at 7am just in time to take my Monday morning conference call from the cab. Totally worth it.

Brooklyn Bridge by day

Fellow budding photog Saiyyam and I had a photography date last Friday. It was a gorgeous day in New York and we walked the Brooklyn Bridge (well, around 2/3rds of it) and got some fairly decent shots. The original plan was to stay there until after sunset for ‘blue hour’ and get some pictures of the bridge from the Brooklyn side. But instead we got wasted over a couple of sangrias and waltzed all over South Street Seaport singing Dynamite. An Friday evening well-spent I’d say.

My friend Binny was gracious enough to allow me take some pictures of her yesterday in the park. We walked all afternoon through hordes of shirtless runners, families picnicking on the lawns, ladies trying to catch some sun, dogs jumping into the fountain (in one case one little pup was thrown into it!) to beat the heat, and hot-dog vendors selling water bottles for $3 each. And after the shoot, we stopped for some amazing frozen yogurt at 16 Handles, which is now officially my new favorite dessert place in the city.

It’s difficult to make someone who’s already so pretty look prettier. But here goes.

Fireworks

I took these pictures from my apartment window during the 4th of July Fireworks display on the Hudson river a few weeks ago. I was fortunate enough to live high enough to have a great view of the fireworks. Sailboats started lining up on the river since 5 in the evening.

Edinburgh

I spent a weekend in Edinburgh when I was in London last year. Possibly the most breathtaking city I have ever visited. Oh and the ribeye at the steakhouse right outside Edinburgh Castle was unbelievable.

And the correct pronunciation of ‘Coleburn Street’ is ’Cockburn Street’. Gotta love the Scottish accent!

Hola Cancún!

I flew down to Cancun, Mexico for a few days in October 2010. And I have never been more relaxed in my life. I was shirtless for nearly 90% of my time there. Either in pool, or in the ocean. Or because it was just too hot to wear a shirt. I would have liked to get more pictures though. Beautiful country, beautiful people.
