We also need to download packages p7zip-full to run this application, download p7zip-full through the synaptic package manager.

Add permission access executable on the file Unetbootin we downloaded earlier.

Right Click → Properties → select the permissions tab and check allow executing as a program or type chmod +x linux-555-UNetbootin on terminal.

Before opening the application Unetbootin better stick usb flashfirst, after flasdisk stuck, then double click the Unetbootin willappear like this.

hi all, two weeks i didn’t update post on this blog because of beausy in the real world, so long it feels.

Are you using a usb modem for internet connection in ubuntu / linux mint? Have you ever had the desire to send and receive sms via modem? I am sure you would say yes.

On ubuntu / linux mint are very easy to use application to connect to the internet such as network manager, but the network manager there is no feature to send or receive SMS.

To send or receive SMS in ubuntu / linux mint you can use the GNOME PHONE MANAGER. To install this application, open a terminal and then type the command

Sudo apt-get install gnome-phone manager

Application Phone manager can be open through the menu application a System Tools a phone manager. After you click the phone manager, phone manager icon will be located on the bottom right panel desktop. So that you can use this application, right-click the phone manager icon and then select the preference. The most important thing is to set the phone coonection. Click on the Connection tab, the phone connection, there are 5 choices, we will use the option to the other five ports. My modem is detected as / dev/ttyusb0.

To send an sms, please click the phone icon manager, fill no purpose, write your message and click send.

Standard Linux file permissions are rwx (r: read, w: write, x: execute)
why there are three rows of letters rwx? The first rwx are the permissions for the owner, the second to group and last to the universal.

we will write chmod 700 filename

we can also write

chmod +r file name to allow read in our file
chmod +w filename to give write access to our file
chmod +x flename to give access to execute on our file
to eliminate a right of access to our files we can type chmod-r /-w /-x filename

I am sure that many articles contains about the basic commands in linux, but I wanted to write it again because certainly there are many new Linux users who still do not understand about the basic commands in linux.
Some basic commands in linux terminal which is often used, among others:

1. Displaying directory contents
ls Displaying directory contents
ls-R Displaying directories and their contents
ls-m Displays files with comma separator
ls-x Showing files horizontally
ls-a Displays all files, including hidden files
ls *. txt Displays files with a specific type, ex = txt (text file)
ls-F Displays for the directory

ls-l Displays file with permission files
ls-color Displaying files and directories with a different color

2. Moving directory
cd / usr / bin Move to the directory / usr / bin

USE HUAWEI K3565 USB MODEM ON LINUX MINT JULIA

Are you surprised with the words above? This happens when I use huawei vodafone k3565 usb modem on Linux Mint Julia .. after I plug the modem into my netbook, then I set the network connection by clicking the menu → preference → network connection.

Then click the tab mobile broadband and click add. The display appears to set the new connection. Select the modem is used, by default huawei k3565 usb modem was detected good on Linux Mint Julia. Click fordward, select the your provider's country, here I choose Indonesia because I live in Indonesia. Click fordward, select your provider, there are several options to choose and there is also an option I can not find my provider and I wish to enter it manually if you do not find your provider. Click fordward, select billing plan or APN. Click fordward and then click Apply. It would appear that our created configuration and we can change the APN, username and Password according to the provider that we use.

After completed indent configuration as above, I click the network connection that is in the bottom right of the desktop, then I click the connection that I made earlier. But the result,, i can not connect, I try to reconnect but still could not connect again. Then I was browsing through mobile phones but all the tutorials as well as I did above. Then I tried the advice given my brother. When I try to connect the internet with the new configuration and the results I can connect to the internet.

THE WIDESPREAD USE OF PIRATED OS IN POOR COUNTRIES

It is true that pirated OS is too widely used in poor countries. This is due to the high price of the original OS that can not be reached by the poor. In addition, there are several more factors that support the widespread use of pirated OS in poor countries. These factors are:

1. There is lack of knowledge about the existence of the free OS (open source) which has the same function as the paid OS. The lack of the knowledge is because people know only one OS and they do not know the other OSs.
2. The pirated OS has already been circulated and spread everywhere and it has easily been obtained.
3. People do not realize that using pirated OS is a violation of copyright. Most of them do not realize this because there is none who reminds them, for example by saying "it is better for you to use the open source OS instead of pirated OS. It violates copyright law. You can be jailed if you use the pirated OS.
4. Most computer users are ‘end users’ who have already felt the ease of using Graphical User Interface which is beautiful from the paid OS and they find it difficult to study the Command Line with Open Source, even though the current open source OS also has beautiful view.

What I mentioned above is probably only a few factors that cause the widespread use of pirated OS. There may also be personal reasons that make them choose to use pirated OS. I myself use the Open Source OS, the linux mint. Why do I choose to use Linux Mint which is a product of Open Source and free? My reason is very simple. The paid OS is still too expensive for me. So, I just want to remind that using the free OS is better than using the paid but pirated OS. The paid OS indeed offers various facilities that may not be offered by the free OS / software. We know that the paid OS is still too expensive for us, but it is not a reason to use a pirated OS. So, whether we want to use the paid OS or the free OS is up to us. It depends on our favor. My advice is that if you use the paid OS/software, it is better for you to use original and official OS / software in order that we do not harm the original vendors of OS / software.
