Corporation is recalling 55,362 VPCF11 series and VPCCW2 series laptop computers under its Vaio brand in mainland China due to overheating problems, the country's quality watchdog said last week.
The affected laptops were produced between December 2009 and February 2010, while sales of these laptops kicked off in January 2010, according to the State Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine.
Sony said it will fix those computers that can overheat caused by a temperature-control defect, posing a burn hazard to the user and distorting the laptop's shape.
The recall is also taking place in the U.S., Europe and other countries in Asia including Japan.

At 22.2mm thick these are some seriously thin machines, while Toshiba reckons that their six-cell batteries could power them for up to 11 hours.

Processing power could be an issue, though, with no plans - as far as we know - to sell them in the UK with dual-core variants of Intel's CULV processors. Such an option will be reserved for the Satellite Pro T130, so it could be the one to get if you're after something a little more powerful.

Satellite T110

Intel Pentium or Intel Celeron Single Core ultra low voltage processor

Up to 3GB (DDR3)

250GB HDD

11.6in LED Backlit 1366 x 768 Screen

Integrated Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n

Integrated Web Camera with Face Recognition

3 x USB 2.0 Sleep and Charge, 1 x HDMI

1.58kg

Available in Precious Black or Iron Red Metallic

Satellite T130

Intel Pentium, Intel Single Core or Intel Celeron Single Core ultra-low-voltage processor

Up to 4GB (DDR3)

Up to 500GB HDD

13.3in LED Backlit 1366 x 768 Screen

Integrated Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n

Integrated Web Camera with Face Recognition

3 x USB 2.0 Sleep & Charge, 1 x HDMI

1.76kg

Available in Precious Black, Iron Red Metallic or Luxe White Pearl

In the past, due to hardware restrictions, laptops don’t exactly boast any noteworthy computing performance, great graphics and entertainment level audio. Now, when you think of digital entertainment, the new ASUS N61 and N71 laptops may make it to the top of your wish list. Inside you would find a powerful Intel Core 2 Quad mobile Q9000 processor for raw mobile computing power. Graphics is handled by the integrated NVIDIA CUDA technology with dedicated 1GB DDR3 VRAM NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M chipset resulting in the highest quality HD display you can dream of. Both use High Definition LED backlit screen with 16:9 aspect ratios found in HD TVs.

You can have the entire HD label slapped on a laptop but the sad truth is that most laptops suffer from sound quality, which in Simon Cowell’s remark is “Absolutely horrendous”. Not the ASUS N61 and N71 series though, these laptops are American Idol materials so to speak in terms of audio quality. The secret lies in ASUS SonicMaster audio technology which features dedicated resonance space design that provides acoustic layering for clear and crisp sound reproduction. Using paper and foam cone, the quality of sound from different ranges are drastically enhanced. Combine that with the renowned Altec Lansing speakers and SRS Premium Sound and you have not only a HD picture but HD audio as well.

Both the ASUS N61 and N71 are truly an entertainment marvel and if you want to see
more netbook options from ASUS, can find out them here.

This company will then turn around and send it to retailers, who will then send it to customers.

This means that this high-end model could be in customer hands by the end of this month, or very early in October at the latest.

Get Out Your Wallets
Nokia N900The leaked scheduling document confirms Nokia's suggested U.S. price for the N900: $650.

Amazon.com is already taking pre-orders for this smartphone at that price.

An Overview of the Nokia N900
This upcoming model will have the same general shape as Nokia's earlier Internet Tablets: a slider with a large WVGA touchscreen and a landscape-oriented keyboard.

It will run a new version of Nokia's open-source Linux-based operating system, Maemo 5, on an ARM Cortex-A8 processor. It will also have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

In addition, it is going to have a 5 MPx camera and Carl Zeiss optics.

The Kodak Zi6 HD is a nice little camera and Woot has a nice deal one ‘em today.

Amazon sells the pocket cam for $122, but if you can deal with a refurb, Woot has one for only $69.99. You even get your choice of black, pink, or red. The little camera can capture 720p video at 60 fps with 16:9 aspect ratio. All that media gets stored on a SD/SDHC card and you can get about 40 minutes to fit on a 2GB card. Don’t expect production quality video out of it, but we use these cameras all the time and they get the job done.

The LUMIX DMC-GF1 distinguishes itself from previous models with its elegant, compact design reminiscent of classic film cameras, yet builds on Panasonic’s success with the revolutionary LUMIX G Series of digital interchangeable lens system cameras based on the Micro Four Thirds system standard. With its compact size, user-friendly design and ability to record High Definition (HD) video and take professional-quality photos, the LUMIX GF1 continues to redefine digital photography standards.

“Panasonic changed the digital camera industry with the world’s first Micro Four Thirds digital camera, the LUMIX G1 – a compact “DSLR-like” digital camera that produces exceptional image quality. Then, as we continued to raise the innovation bar, Panasonic launched the LUMIX GH1, adding full High Definition 1080p video recording with continuous auto focus,” said David Briganti, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. “The new LUMIX GF1 continues the evolution and is the perfect addition to our LUMIX G Series, as its sophisticated, small body makes it easier and more convenient to carry. The GF1 is ideal for point-and-shoot consumers looking to step-up to DSLR-quality or for current DSLR users who want greater convenience without compromising performance quality or creative flexibility.”

With its lightweight body, the LUMIX GF1 provides experienced photographers with the ideal digital camera to carry with them at all times. Like its predecessors in the LUMIX G Series, the LUMIX GF1 eliminates the pentaprism found in traditional interchangeable lens cameras. Thus, this mirror-free structure allows Panasonic to dramatically reduce both size and weight.

Though small in size, the LUMIX GF1 does not compromise in advanced features. The LUMIX GF1 thoroughly optimizes the advantages of a system camera to ensure high performance, whether capturing photos or HD video. The LUMIX DMC-GF1 can record 1280 x 720 High Definition video in AVCHD Lite, a format that enables longer recording times. With a dedicated video record button, capturing video is convenient and easy. The LUMIX GF1 can also record HD Motion JPEG in 1280 x 720 and other video recording formats include: QVGA, VGA and WVGA. The LUMIX GF1 has a unique Movie Program Mode that allows consumers to adjust the depth-of-field while shooting in HD video, so background and foreground can be blurred to give creative effects – something typically only possible with expensive professional camcorders.

The LUMIX DMC-GF1 includes the new My Color mode, which includes seven preset effects – Expressive, Retro, Pure, Elegant, Monochrome, Dynamic Art, Silhouette and Custom – all which let users manually set the color, brightness and saturation levels. With the Live View function, users can see how these settings will effect the photo before they shoot, making it easier to capture the exact mood or atmosphere desired. For even more elaborate effects, users can choose from a total of nine Film modes, and set the contrast, sharpness and saturation levels for each. A custom function lets users store their favorite settings in memory. Furthermore, the exposure meter can be displayed in other shooting modes and the correlation between shutter speed and aperture is shown, with a color-coded warning that alerts users when the settings are not in the proper range.

For those users not quite comfortable with extensive manual and creative controls, the LUMIX GF1 provides a user-friendly setting that can address a beginner’s comfort level, while helping them evolve their photography skills. For instance, Panasonic’s new Scene mode, Peripheral Defocus, lets users take a photo where the foreground is in focus and background is blurred – or vice versa. This popular effect can be intimidating for a beginner, but in the Peripheral Defocus mode, by simply selecting the objects to be blurred and focused using the camera’s keypad, it is simple for photographers of any level.

Also, helping to make the LUMIX GF1 more approachable, Panasonic’s popular iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, a system of technologies that engage automatically – no setting changes needed – allows for intuitive use when shooting still or video images. While shooting video, iA activates Panasonic’s O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization), which helps reduce video-blurring due to handshake. In addition, Face Detection automatically detects a face in the frame and adjusts focus, exposure, contrast, and skin complexion on it so it always turns out beautifully. Intelligent Exposure continually checks the ambient light level and adjusts the exposure setting as conditions change to prevent blown highlights and blocked shadows. For still photos, the iA system encompasses: Face Recognition (up to six faces can be registered); Auto Focus (AF) Tracking; Mega O.I.S.; Intelligent ISO; Intelligent Exposure; and Intelligent Scene Selector.

The LUMIX GF1 also comes fully-equipped with a built-in flash and a large, 3.0-inch Intelligent LCD with a wide viewing angle and a 460,000-dot resolution. The Intelligent LCD offers automatic backlight control, which when combined with its high-resolution, helps improve visibility in all light environments – from sunny outdoors to low-light interior settings. New for the LUMIX G Series, the LUMIX GF1 is compatible with an optional Live View Finder (DMW-LVF1), which provides the full-time live view function boasting 100% field of view regardless of the attached lens. To further expand the LUMIX G Series system, Panasonic Micro Four Thirds digital cameras can be used with Four Thirds System interchangeable lenses via an optional mount adaptor DMW-MA1 and with the prestigious Leica M/R lenses using Panasonic’s DMW-MA2M DMW-MA3R. These adapters give the user access to the unlimited number of lens properties.

The LUMIX GF1’s sensor technology offers the best of both worlds - the superior image quality of a CCD sensor, and the low-power consumption of a CMOS sensor. Advanced technology makes it possible to read four channels of data simultaneously, helping the LUMIX GF1 deliver 60 frames-per-second full-time Live View images, while maintaining fine detail and rich gradation. The LUMIX GF1’s Venus Engine HD records stunning high-resolution 12-megapixel images using its advanced Live MOS Sensor. This sophisticated LSI circuit separates chromatic noise from luminance noise and applies the optimal noise reduction to each, helping to capture clear and beautiful images even when shooting at high ISO levels.

The contrast AF system adopted in the LUMIX GF1 is not only accurate, but also very quick – approximately 0.3 seconds with the LUMIX G H-FS014045 lens. Users can choose from a wide-range of AF modes, including multiple-area AF with up to 23 focus areas; 1-area AF with a selectable focus area; Face Detection; and AF Tracking. The LUMIX GF1 also has a Quick AF function that begins focusing as soon as the user aims the camera - without pressing the shutter button halfway.

As with all Panasonic LUMIX G Series digital cameras, the LUMIX GF1 is equipped with a highly-effective Dust Reduction system. Thus, if dust gets inside the camera (when changing lenses), Panasonic’s Dust Reduction system addresses this problem by placing a supersonic wave filter in front of the Live MOS sensor which vertically vibrates around 50,000 times per second, thus repelling the dust.

The content captured on the LUMIX GF1 can easily be viewed on a Panasonic VIERA® HDTV by simply inserting the SD/SDCH Memory Card into the VIERA’s SD/SDHC Memory Card slot or into a Panasonic DIGA Blu-ray Disc Player. Alternatively, an optional mini HDMI cable can be used to output still and motion images recorded with the LUMIX DMC-GF1 directly to the TV for easy VIERA Link™ operation, with control of playback functions, such as slideshows, managed from the VIERA HDTV’s remote control.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF1 will be available in early October 2009 with the option of two kits – both with a suggested retail price (SRP) of $899.95. One kit option includes the newly-announced LUMIX G 20mm/F1.7 ASPH, a compact and lightweight “pancake” lens, while the other kit features the LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S. The optional Live View Finder DMW-LVF1 has an SRP of $199.95; while the DMW-MA2M and DMW-MA3R both have an SRP of $249.95. All new accessories will also be available in early October.

First, the 3710a (pictured) is simply an Americanized version of the 3710 flip introduced a couple months back, offering a 3.2 megapixel cam, Series 40, and a concealed external display in addition to that all-important dose of 3G on T-Mobile's AWS band. The more interesting item, though, might be this Motorola -- as usual Moto has done a terrific job of concealing virtually all useful bits of information about this phone, but we have reason to believe that it could be the Android-powered Morrison since it's got WiFi on board in addition to 3G, Bluetooth, and the usual RF suspects. With Moto's big announcement just around the corner, we wouldn't be surprised.

Video playback is top notch and widely compatible, the camera is among the best I’ve ever seen on a mobile phone, and the video recording can actually hang with a lot of pocket cams, like the Flip of Kodak Zi series. On all other counts the phone never falls flat, but it never really shines, either.

The hardware: Your first impression of the Omnia HD is that it’s big, but that’s not really fair: It’s a tall device, but it’s not meaningfully larger than any of the other popular touchscreen phones on the market today—it’s just proportioned differently. And for all the hardware crammed inside, it’s reasonably thin. Speaking of which, the guts: It’s got HSDPA (on European bands), GPS, 8-16GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, and 8MP, 720p-recording camera sensor, a built-in flash bulb, a forward-facing video camera, USB connector and a 3.5mm jack. It’s a healthy phone, hardware-wise.

Samsung touts the AMOLED screen over anything else, and with some good reason. It’s vibrant and sharp, but side by side with an iPod Touch, it isn’t strikingly better. The benefits of the OLED, such as they are, seem to manifest themselves more in a healthy battery life than anything else. In terms of touch, it’s a capacitive panel, and it’s extremely responsive. Any lag or difficulties with the onscreen keyboard are entirely down to the software.

Mobile Phone cameras are generally horrible, so the Omnia HD’s camera is a rare treat. Seriously: I trusted it to shoot a Klipsch Image S4i review last week. “>product review last week, and it definitely came through. It’ll match a low-end point-and-shoot in most situations, barring low-light—the sensor can’t really handle darker situations too well, and the flash is pretty wimpy—and fast-motion scenes. Video, on the other hand, is at least pocket-cam quality. In daylight it’s razor-sharp at 720p, while in low light it’s passable. It doesn’t quite match up to the best-of-the-bunch Zi8, for example, but it’s surprisingly close. On a mobile! When did this happen?

The Software: This is where things fall apart a little. Wherever the Omnia HD hardware shines—along with the kickass camera, it can handle HD video playback in plenty of codecs—the software is fine. The camera interface and media playback interfaces, music and video, are never distracting a usually do what you expect. Elsewhere, though, there are problems.

Samsung’s thrown the old Omnia’s TouchWiz widget UI, originally designed for Windows Mobile, onto the Symbian-powered HD. This in itself is fine, since TouchWiz has always been a decent, finger-friendly homescreen. Outside of the three homescreen panels, though, is a bizarre UI stew, some from Symbian 5.0, some from Samsung, and some from the deepest bowels of hell. For example: Scrolling! Instead of throwing menus and selecting entries, the selection follows your finger. It’ hard to explain, but it’s a terrible way to manage a menu-heavy operating system. The onscreen keyboard seems to be a Samsung special too. It’s fine—it’s spacious and rarely lags—but it’s set on a perfect grid, doesn’t come with any autocorrect and feels like it was designed in about an hour.
Outside of a few areas, the phone is a fairly raw take on Symbian, which means the UI is inconsistent and difficult to tackle with fingers, and seems to insert needless steps all over the place. Want to enter a URL? Press a button, type your address, press another button, and press another. It doesn’t make any sense. Functionally, though, it holds up fine: The browser could be easier to navigate with, but renders with WebKit, supports Flash and generally does its job. Same goes for pretty much everything else: the experience could be smoother, but you’d be hard pressed to find a task that the HD can’t handle. And if you do find a gap, remember: This is full Symbian, so you can always go app hunting. As dumb as the UI can be, don’t be fooled into thinking this is a dumbphone: it can do pretty much anything an Android or Windows Mobile phone can, just a little more awkwardly.

Whether we comprehend it or not, we have use of computers all a time. In this day and age, a chairman is more reliant on his mechanism than anything else generally his personal mechanism or a PC.

For many, a Personal Computer is most more than customarily a apparatus it is an required apparatus for a lifestyle. It organizes ones each day activities, reason an measureless volume of report and be a cornerstone for a persons each day vital and working.

With such faith on it, a single has to ask: how do we collect a undiluted personal computer?

Before we begin on a features, we initial have to ask yourself: will we need this Personal Computer to be with me most of a time? Do we have a good need for mobility? If we lend towards to need entrance to a mechanism a lot during a march of your day, your most appropriate companion is a laptop. If we speak to people more or can work with tough copies, we wouldnt need to projection around a four-pound laptop everywhere and can solve for a stout homebody called a desktop PC.

As shortly as we take your pick, afterwards we can go on to determining on a alternative features: speed, capacity, accessibility and peripherals.

The most appropriate place to begin is during a examination websites for computers.
