Micus-aero är en bår speciellt utvecklad för transport av patienter som kräver intensivvård. Micus-aero har integrerad syrgas och fästen för att montera båren säkert i såväl flygplan som helikopter och vägambulans. På en brygga över båren monteras den medicintekniska utrustningen. Båren inklusive medicinteknisk utrustning är testad och godkänd för användning både i luften och på väg.

Micus-aero kan också användas som en mobil intensivvårdsplats hos organisationer som har att ge katastrofhjälp. I samarbete med Business Sweden kommer AMT Solutions ställa ut i den svenska paviljongen på AidEx 2014 i Bryssel den 12-13 november, 2014.

Användarvänlighet i fokus
Akademiska sjukhusets avdelning för luftburen intensivvård (LIV) genomför varje år ca 800 uppdrag, både planerade sjuktransporter och akuta flygningar.

—Att lära av erfarenheterna från LIV:s sköterskor, läkare, piloter och medicintekniker har varit enormt viktigt under utvecklingsarbetet, säger Peter Johansson, utvecklingschef hos AMT Solutions.

Mobile Intensive Care
Micus-aero is a stretcher specifically developed for the transport of patients requiring intensive care. Micus-aero has integrated oxygen and interfaces to mount the stretcher safely in both aircraft, helicopter and road ambulance without using adaptors. Medical devices can be securely mounted on the configurable medical device shelf and the stretcher including medical equipment is tested and approved for use both in the air and on the road.

The micus-aero is also suitable as a mobile intensive care unit (ICU) for increasing ICU resources in disaster areas. In cooperation with Business Sweden AMT Solutions will be exhibiting at the Swedish pavilion at AidEx 2014 in Brussels on November 12-13, 2014.

Each year Uppsala university hospital carries out about 800 missions, both planned patient transport and emergency missions.

Mobile lifting aid with Airborne incubator

AMT Solutions has delivered the new Mobile Lifting Aid (MLA) to their launch customer, Uppsala University Hospital, in Sweden. The MLA is a portable lifting aid designed to facilitate loading of patients by air ambulance crews even at remote airports. The innovative design allows the MLA to be loaded in smaller ambulance aircrafts and assembled in only a few minutes, with power for the MLA drawn directly from the aircraft.

On a daily basis air ambulance crews have to handle patients on stretchers and transport incubators that often weigh 120 to 130 kilos. Air ambulance operators strive to have stationary patient lifts on the most frequented bases but when they have to retrieve patients at remote bases they have, up until now, been forced to do heavy lifting.

“The heavy lifting is recognized as an occupational injury risk with air ambulance crews,” says Ann Vestin who is head of the Airborne Intensive Care Department at Uppsala University Hospital. Ann goes on to say that “the MLA has been needed by our crews and we have already conducted several successful missions with our Eastair operated Learjet 45 utilizing the MLA. Feedback from both pilots and medical crew has been very positive.”

The MLA is designed to be stowed even in smaller aircrafts and no modifications to the aircraft or certification is required. The MLA is available for order with versions for Lifeport Aerosled, Aeromedical Products and micusTM-aero stretchers as well as for transport incubator systems using the Lifeport Aerosled TD. Versions with interface for other stretcher systems are in development.

AMT Solutions har levererat det nya mobila lyfthjälpmedlet MLA (Mobile Lifting Aid) till lanseringskunden Akademiska Sjukhuset i Uppsala. MLA är ett portabelt lyfthjälpmedel som underlättar för ambulansflygbesättningarna vid lastning av patienterna även på avlägsna flygplatser. Den innovativa designen gör att MLA kan lastas i lastutrymmet även i mindre flygplan och monteras på bara några få minuter. Kraft till MLA tas direkt från flygplanet.

Dagligen så tvingas ambulansflygbesättningarna hantera bårpatienter och transportkuvöser som ofta väger 120 till 130 kilo. Ambulansflygoperatörerna strävar efter att ha stationära bårlyftar på de mest frekventerade flygplatserna men när man skall hämta patienter på andra baser har man hitintills tvingats till tunga lyft.

“De tunga lyften innebär en risk för arbetsskador hos ambulansflyg besättningarna”, säger Ann Vestin som är chef för den Luftburna Intensivvårdsavdelning vid Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala. Ann fortsätter med att säga att “Lyfthjälpen är mycket efterlängtad hos våra besättningar och vi har redan genomfört flera framgångsrika uppdrag med den vid flygningar med vår Learjet 45. Återkopplingen från både piloter och den medicinsk besättning har varit mycket positiv.”

MLA är designad för att stuvas även i mindre flygplan och inga modifieringar av flygplanet eller certifieringar krävs. MLA:n är tillgänglig för beställning idag för användning med Lifeport Aerosled, Aeromedical Products och micusTM-aero intensivvårdsbår samt för transportkuvöser med Lifeport Aerosled TD underrede. Versioner med gränssnitt för andra bårsystem är under utveckling.

On the last part of the trip we demonstrated the micus-aero prototype to staff from the hosptal in Umeå and also had the opportunity to evaluate the loading of the micus-aero in a Beech 200 Air Ambulance belonging to Scandinavian Air Ambulance based at Umeå airport.

Thanks to the helpful staff of SAA and Umeå hospital we were able to verify that the micus-aero can be loaded into the B200 equipped with the narrow standard door.
