Nashville, Tenn. July, 29 2010… The newest music video from six time GRAMMY ® winner Amy Grant will be broadcast exclusively on GMC this Friday, July 30 at 8 p.m. ET.

In addition to the broadcast debut, there will be an encore airing of the music video on Sunday, August 1 at 1 p.m. ET preceding “A Song From the Heart,” a movie starring Grant. She will also be featured on the Top Spin 10 Countdown Show on Friday, July 30 at 12pm ET and Saturday, July 31 at 8am ET. A re-airing of Grant’s Faith & Fame will also add to the weekend full of coverage on the channel, airing at midnight ET on Friday, July 30. A promo video for the premiere is also currently available at www.watchgmctv.com.

The song “Better Than A Hallelujah” comes from Grant’s acclaimed March release titled Somewhere Down the Road. Grant’s first new, non-holiday music in seven years garnered praise from People magazine saying “this is a soothing set of inspirational pop, as the pure-voiced Grant exudes a simple warmth on tracks…” and Billboard magazine raving “…all the songs on this collection weave together into a beautiful musical tapestry—–each as warm, thoughtful and gently compelling as the woman singing them…. we are all better for Grant having shared this emotional road map.”

The video has already struck a chord with readers of Ladies’ Home Journal’s www.lhj.com. Below is just a sample of viewer feedback from the online debut of the music video on www.lhj.com…

“WOW…is all I can say! This video is the perfect accompaniment to this song. It eloquently depicts those situations in life where our mistakes, tragedies or regrets cannot be undone and we are left with our sad realities where only God can give us comfort. It brought me to tears.”

“Beautiful Song. Beautiful Video. Beautiful Artist”

“As always, Amy’s songs bring me healing right where I need it!”

The music video for “Better Than A Hallelujah” will be available at iTunes ® and other digital service providers beginning August 10th.

THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS
With Vince Gill and Amy Grant

NASHVILLE – June 30, 2010 — When the holiday season comes around, music superstars Amy Grant and Vince Gill will embark on their fifth Christmas tour. The Twelve Days of Christmas Tour kicks off December 8 in Sarasota, FL and wraps with 2 shows in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium. “Christmas audiences are special,” explains Grant. “They tend to involve the whole family, and their emotions are a wonderful mix of anticipation and reverence. It’s a thrilling experience for both of us.” “These holiday tours have become our favorites,” Gill agrees. In their two hour program, the Grammy-winning husband-and-wife team will present cherished standards and newer seasonal fare as well as some of their biggest hits.

Amy Grant’s career spans over 30 years and stretches from her roots in gospel into an iconic pop star, songwriter, television personality, and philanthropist. Grant has sold more than 30 million albums and won six Grammy® Awards in multiple categories, beginning with the platinum selling Age to Age in 1982. She also has six #1 hits, including “Baby, Baby,” and “Every Heartbeat” and is one of only two Christian artists to be awarded a star on the legendary Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Grant released her first live recording in 25 years with Time Again…Amy Grant Live in September 2006, and then announced her first ever label shift to EMI Music Group where her entire music catalog was re-mastered and released via a Greatest Hits CD and made available for the first time digitally. In the fall of 2008 she released her first new Christmas music in 9 years, The Christmas Collection, and this past March released her first new music in 6 years, with Somewhere Down The Road, which debuted at #2 on the Christian Soundscan Chart. The first single, “Better Than A Hallelujah” was a Top 10 hit.
.
One of the most popular singers in modern country music, Vince Gill has a love for country music, top-notch songwriting, and world-class guitar playing, all wrapped in a warm tenor and a quick and easy wit. If anyone in country music defines humility, it is Vince Gill. His generosity and kindness are legendary. Gill achieved his big breakthrough with “When I Call Your Name,” which won the Country Music Association’s Single of the Year award. Since then, he has won 17 more CMA honors, including Song of the Year four times. Since 1990, Gill has walked away with 20 Grammy awards and has racked up sales in excess of 26 million. Gill co-hosted the CMA Awards for the first time in 1992. He continued to host “Country Music’s Biggest Night™” for 12 consecutive years, ending his run in 2003. In addition to being a long-time member of the Grand Ole Opry, Gill was inducted into the prestigious Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007. Gill boasts three best-selling Christmas albums of his own: Let There Be Peace On Earth, Breath Of Heaven and Christmas Collection.

June 4, 2010 — it seems impossible to believe that spring is nearly over and summer is on almost here. The days are indeed longer and the heat is on! I love summer for all of its weekend get togethers with friends and family, fresh fruit and veggies, and great music blasting from the stereo speakers.

As you know, the Flood of 2010 that occurred in Nashville and surrounding communities was a devastating natural disaster. So many people lost their homes and belongings. Some lost loved ones and pets. Having grown up in Southern California I have lived through several big earthquakes, but nothing prepared me for the impact and damage of the flood. Although my home was unscathed, several of my friends and their families lost almost everything. It has been heartbreaking to experience and yet at the same time it has been so inspiring to see people pull together and help loved ones and strangers. I can not remember a time I have ever been as proud to live in Tennessee as I have been in the past month — the “volunteer spirit” runs deep in our veins and it has made all the difference in the world.

Amy has done several benefits for flood relief. She participated in both our local Channel 2 and Channel 4 flood telethons. She and Vince donated a total of $150,000 to the telethons to go to flood relief offered through The Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Feed America. (Although Amy has always been very private about her personal giving, she allowed us to publicize this particular gift because she was hopeful that other individuals would be inspired to give as much as they could afford) She also participated in Brandon Heath’s “Love Your Neighbor” benefit which raised over $60,000 to help rebuild the “El Shaddai Church” of Nolensville. She also volunteered to help try to salvage and clean the belongings of some dear friends whose house was lost in the flood. As I watched her do so much I was reminded of the lyric from “Find What You’re Looking For” that says:

“what would they find
if they searched for a heart of gold?
they’d find sacrifices of
time and of money never told.”

But the work continues. On June 22, Amy will be joining Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and several others for the “Nashville Rising” concert at the Bridgestone Arena. All proceeds from that evening will be designated for flood relief through the Community Fund of Middle Tennessee. Tickets sold out in about 15 minutes. It promises to be a great night of music and inspiration for our community.

The weekend after the flood, Amy’s “I Do” daughter, Jenny Gill, married her longtime companion, Josh VanValkenburg, got married in Amy and Vince’s backyard. The weather was perfect and the setting was something out of a fairy tale. Jenny was a stunning bride and Vince was beaming from ear to ear as he walked her down the aisle. It was a night of friends, family and celebration.

Amy only has a handful of concert dates in the next few months, but August through December are going to be very busy. We are very excited about the “Pieces Of Our Lives” tour with Compassion International. It promises to be a very special and intimate night of music in very special venues. Amy was so inspired by her trip to Africa last summer and asked to partner with Compassion in a new and unique way.

“Better Than A Hallelujah” is continuing to climb the Christian charts. We are so excited with the response of this song and believe there is still a lot of upward momentum for the song. Last week Amy shot a video of the song that should be premiered in the next couple of weeks. The director took a very unique approach to crafting a “film like” storyline for the video and we are excited to see the final results.

Again, as always, I say thank you to all of you for continuing to support Amy’s music. She often says that this is the sweetest stretch of life she has ever known and she loves the balance she is discovering of making new music, touring with dear friends, and also spending focused time at home.

Blessings to you and yours…
