You think that's the true color of Canadians. Love and peace....yah, you think. When you visit those two black and white creatures in the zoo, please think about truths behind the trade. Pandas are lucky to be the diplomatic tools of China. Or they might end up like the bears in bears farm, like those dogs and cats brutally beaten to death in common market. When you think of China, please don't see it as cute as pandas. Think about the miserable bears in bear farms, caged for decades because Chinese want their biles. When people say human rights, animal rights, none of them is real. The only thing people care about is money, Canadians are no exception.

But, that's it.

I still remember the joy when I got letters from loved ones decades ago.

And the design of the stamps, except for the philatelists, it seems nobody cares any more.
For a nice letter to complete, of course the content of the letter is the key, but the hand writting, the choice of paper, the envelope, the stamps even the seals and the fragrance all play an important part in it.
Personally, I think it is an art. Yet, we are losing it.

Somehow I miss the old time. When you receive a letter, you can tell how much the effort the writer puts in it. No wonder decent literature is going south. People now don't have the chance to practice it. You just need copy-forward-send or just clip share is all you need.

It's not that I don't know how to appreciate neo-writing, but cyber language seems lacking the elegancy we used to have.

First of all, the latter is sort of dehumanization. You can read so much about a person just simply from their hand writing, which is an endangered art. Second, cyber spread is horrible, If you invite A and not B while B is on A's FB list.....And, on computer, it is so easy to "mis-clip" someone. I for once deleted a wrong guy from my friend list because his name look so similar to the guy who sent awful messages to me. Last, written invitation feel more....elegant. Food from other places are just not fresh and tasty enough.
Think about it, they have to ship it before it becomes spoiled. I have.
I saw a debate on YouTube. They talked about whether Taiwan is a part of China.
Several Chinese argued:
Taiwan people use Chinese, so Taiwan people are Chinese, therefore Taiwan belongs to China.
I couldn't help replying this ridiculous inference by posing:

I got many Caucasian friends who speak Chinese. They are not Chinese. And, there are so many people in the world use English. Is U.S. a part of Britain? Does Canada belong to Britain? How about Australia? How about Spanish? So many countries use Spanish.

Then I received several messages:

You are brain-damaged.
You are a poor ignorant woman.
Stupid Canadian.
You and your mother are sex-slave Taiwanese love to be fucked by Japanese. (yes, some Chinese love to use this kind of expression to describe Taiwanese, I have seen them on Internet many many times.)
Women know nothing about politics, so go home to serve your husband, if any man is willing to take you.
...................

Too many, I can't put them all up here. Some words....you don't wanna hear.
But there are two replies caught my eyes. One is the most creative, the other tries to reason me down to his level.
He wrote: Silly girl, for English, that is international language, so everybody uses it. Yet, Chinese is not an international language, so if you are not a Chinese, why will you use Chinese?
LOL....
The most creative one also provided me a deduction of his/her own:
You sick bitch, you are moron, you have bad reasoning because you have an impotent husband.
XDDDD....
Why do I think he/she is creative? Because it never comes to me to link one's ability on logic to the impotence of one's partner.
XDDDD
We might suggest urologists to use a simple logic test to see if one's partner is impotent. It would save lots of time and money. Health Canada should try it XDDD
By the way, I do think he or she has coitus problems or why an argument about sovereignty of a country and the use of language can link to sexual performance? I give him or her my best wish for he or she can recovery from the stress. And FYI, my sex life with my hubby? Satisfied!! :)))

York Region has the new regulation that the un-compostable bags will be not acceptable in green bins. However, I wonder why the regulation is only limited to green bins, why did the government not make the same rule for all plastic bags? Why do they not make the uncompostable plastic bags vanish on market and force producers to make compostable bags only? Especially for the grocery bags, 5 pennies for each one though; still, many people are willing to pay for the convience. Then what? if those bags are not acceptable in green bins, we just dump them since those bags won't get second chance to be used. Does this regulation really do anything good to our environment, or it just give us another "chance" to spend money? The new regulation might make the green bins recycling pocess easier for the workers, but for benefiting the environment? I doubt. As all those uncompstable bags are still sold and used on market, this new eco-friendly regulation leads me to suspect that it might just a collusion between government and big corporations in disguise.

Personally, I don't see why African Americans will feel better when niggers are replaced by slaves. They both talked about the inequality in the past. Yet, slaves can be any one. But nigger leads us to see the world in the old time, how black people were mistreated. So, there will be no literary impact from the new revised version. And... who gives the publisher right to bowdlerize based on what they think and to censor the history? Do they want to cover something?

Money for Nothing is a complaint from a working man who resented the unfairness between him and the musicians on MTV, I don't see anything against homosexuals. Ok, if yes, it's 25 years ago, isn't our society matured on this issue? (Well, only a bit I know.) But I remember when it's out, I sang along with the stupid animated character on TV and it did not turn me against gays and I learned faggot was a bad word.

I don't say these words are worth keeping. But in these work, they are also part of our history, shouldn't our kids also learn from bad things in history? Through nigger and faggot, new generation can learn what the perspective of old generations held, and why these words are called unacceptable now.

Lucky for me, I have The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn since I was a child, still keep it. Someday it might worth something 'cause it's the original content with the word nigger Mark Twain used. And I do have Money for Nothing in my collection. I think my grandchildren are the lucky ones because I have lots of things without being purged and it's the inheritance I can give them.

Today, I went shopping with my husband. I stood in frond of a stall full of assorted salt, salt from French grey lake, Hawaii sea salt etc.. And I took a box of Pink Himalayan Mountain Salt--0.1g and cost 10 bucks. My husband wondered what made it more expensive than others. I pointed it out from the label that it's collected from high mountain and was the same salt as in 250 million years ago in Jurassic period. And my husband said....
So..it might come from dinosaurs' pee. Pee should be salty, you know.....
The reason leading to the decreased consumption of carbohydrate is the distorted conception of beauty. The reason leading to misconception of beauty is the acute cultural alteration. The change-too-soon culture derives from the globalization. The globalization is caused by rapid growing media and travel devices, which the innovation of technology gave birth to. Therefore, should I curse the scientists? Blame my unhappiness to Issac Newton or Albert Einstein? Is Thomas Edison responsible for my insomnia; Alfred Nobel for the never-stop wars; and Charles Darwin for my right to divorce because he proposed that I am a human being, not a rib?

I thank all the giants in the field for helping us see more and more. However, sometimes truth disappoints us. Without Edwin Hubble, I would still think the moon is the most beautiful thing behind the fickle clouds; without Ivan Pavlov, I would still think all my pets are genius; without Sigmund Freud, I can enjoy the high heels without being accused of coveting men. Yet, God always loses the battle in my highways of neurons.

It's a right thing to encourage kids to read and boost kids' academic performance from poorer neighborhoods. But paying kids for what they should do in the first place is just a pain killer, not a cure. In future, it might lead to related drug dependency. Kids will loose the interest on learning and forget to enjoy the real reward from studying--knowledge gain. More, they might abandon studying for other opportunities receiving more money, like join organized crime society. Its' all because youngsters won't remember why they need to go to school, like painkiller makes us forget what the real problem is. Before you realize the severity of the illness, it has become incurable. Besides, why not use the money to provide our children better study environment, hire more teachers? To my own kids, I want them to see the beauty in books, not the money for the grade; to use scores as understanding how much they learn, not as how much they earn.
The only thing I know is that it is still green, which is why this area attracted us to move here.

Watched the mayoral debate on Rogers this afternoon, the good thing is that all of the four candidates are still less politician-like than those who run for other cities. However, I did not hear any promises about how they will actually do for our city, only some vague ideas. Frankly, I don't like the present mayor's leadership. I agree with Ms. Sherban, whose opinions are quite opposite the present Mayor, that fast growth doesn't mean good development for our city. I do not want those developers dig out all the good land too soon. I know some people can't wait the real estate business boost in our area because some people expand their fortune by buying/selling properties.

Our global is over crowded and fast population growth should not be the concern of our city. When our neighbors are over-populated, people will come. The big issue for a developing area should be what kind of city it will be, what type of citizens it want to absorb. You may build lots of houses, but draw only people who buy them for growing marijuana, or use them as stepping stones to bigger fortune. Growing too fast is like feeding this city steroids. The question is: are we prepared to swallow all the side effect? We don't even have our own police station. Why do we need more houses now?

I do want a green Stouffville, if I want a polluted city, I can go everywhere, why stay here? Planing a city's development is like raising a child. You can have a colossal giant with limited mental ability or a drooping dwarf with IQ 500, or a well balanced bright normally-grow kid. And.. I want my kid happy in a healthy way.

We called the service line, they said the channel is not included in the package. I could not help noticing that my niece kept taking pictures about everything, I asked her if she got a blog, (as a teenager today, who doesn't?) She said NO. Then she revealed to me later that she got one, but wouldn't let her parents know because they did not want her to post any picture about herself on web. I can reason the intention to protect your kid on net, but I don't think it's a good way to help your kids by forbidding her to blog, to facebook, especially in today's technology. My method is to share the experience and google more information about it, and become their e-friend. In this way, you will know their cyber activities.
I was asked to keep it secret and I kept my promise, yet as a senior to her, I needed to protect her, thus I surfed her blog... nothing bad, just recorded something about her activities with her classmates, no family photos, or use her real name or address or any phone number. So far so good.

These days we just focused on painting until two days ago, we tried to deal with the bricks behind the stove fireplace. My hubby opened its tiny door and found a unburned dead bird inside it. We had a hunch that it flew from the chimney and trapped. I could not help crying- not for its death but for the fear it had before it died in the tiny dark room knowing the death's approach. What did it think of at the moment? Families? The sunshine? The rain? The fresh air? It's horrible being placed in the situation. Somehow I felt my heart ache for the lonely sacred dying bird.

Another one is about the bear attack in Yellowstone park. Campers died and injured. It's surely not a happy news. But later, rangers captured a female bear with cubs and declared that the bear was responsible for the attacks. Of course, the bear was executed and it said that the cubs were put into a zoo to have good care. I don't know what to think and what to feel about the whole thing. The bear attack incidents happen ever year in Yellowstone, but people still go there camping for fun. Bears are there for survival. And how can the ranger be sure the mother bear is the one who responsible for ALL the attack last month? Even it's about humans, cops got the wrong guys all the time, and the rangers can tell the differences between all the bears? By the way, all attacks were done by the same bear? Who told you that? the deceased or the injured? If all that is true? Why does protecting your own kids become a wrong move? Why does putting the cubs into zoos become a nice deed after you kill their mother? Why did the rangers make such an illogical declaration? To ease the potential visitors' mind? Despicable humans!

And the poor guy Anderson in BC. His mother abandoned him 31 years ago when he was 15. And now she sued him for parental support. I believe the Family Relation Act was made for good intention. But laws are bounded. Things happen and it's impossible for people who made laws took all the conditions into account. I know some people who have horrible relatives, but how can you bond all the unpleasant relationships based on laws made by people outside the kin? What is justice? Th word is only made to soothe you as the word "God". Pathetic humans!

But trapping and killing those local residents-beavers-is just not an option. Yet the Red Deer Park management seems following the path.

They said, relocating those beavers would be the first-choice solution, however if it failed, those beavers would be trapped and killed. How horrible! Why it's not people who need to relocate their dog fun routines? Contrarily, history replays, always the outsiders or the newcomers slaughter the natives or old-timers--coward selfishness masked by self-justifying chivalry. Human love to play God to other species. I hate myself for being right again.

For the monkeys mentioned earlier, the excuse is overpopulation, but this time? There are only a dozen or less beavers live near the bend and 30 in the river. Witness said, baby beavers were seen. What's wrong to protect your own kids? Dogs can be dangerous to those youngsters, mothers react, then they deserve to die? How about dog owners? Shouldn't they be responsible for choosing right places for their canine families?

I remember one bear was killed in BC because it ran into a store even though it did not hurt anyone. But still it was executed by RCMP. Saying it WILL be dangerous because it has the experience sneaking people's places. I kinda wonder....

Canada abolished capital punishment in 1963 for fearing the mistaken or wrongful convictions. So... even if you are a serial killer, you can still keep your life and Canadian taxpayers will feed you until you die NATURALLY. In addition, based on the loosen management of Canada prisons, chances are you may just walk out the gate without anyone minding you. Consequently, you can kill in a spree again. Afraid? No need to be. Because you are a human being....well, species speaking.

But beavers? Not even knowing which one is the real culprit, and the motive behind the crime. Without trial and jury, humans decide to kill them all. Want to see beavers? We got lots of nickels. We will be fine. So Mr.&Mrs. Beaver, complain to God why He did not make you the SUPERIOR species and he made Hitlers everywhere, including Canada. Women wear bikinis and men are topless not on beaches but on streets. It seems Toronto becomes hotter and hotter each year. I remembered the highest temperature in summer was 28 Celsius the year I landed in Toronto. Even though scientists still argue about the principle behind the phenomenon of global warming, I do worry about it.

This summer is no fun for me. The renovation is still on. My main task is painting and rearranging the whole household. So far, I have finished my dressing room, the master bedroom and the study room, and keep doing the basement. The brick is waited to be clean and the wood panels on wall needs a new coat of paint. My hubby's task is not that easy. The popcorn ceiling is done, he now works on the entrance floor: cleaning, sanding and sanding, painting and painting and painting, and finishing and finishing. It's really a paint in the ass job. Luckily, I got a man willing to do it.

My nephew B moved to live with his high school pal, so we have much less mess to deal with. Young men, it's really hard to ask them to keep neat unless cute girls involve. I haven't had the chance to see his new residence. Next month will do. Kulo is still staying at the old place. We don't want her to breath in the paint and I feel anxious about her adjustability to the new place as she never leave our old neighborhood. She got bunches of friends there- Mask, BW, Kabuki, Whity.....they are my friends too. I do have a feline friendly back yard. But this new place, we still don't know how well she will get along with the creatures here. My hubby comforts me that she will find her way. Yeah, after all, she is a smart girl.

We have been charged the Eco fees long before July 1 in Home Depot while we purchased the paints for renovating our new resident.

Even though I am a big supporter on all the issues on saving our environment, Eco fees is not one of them. I believe the intention is positive, however I doubt whether the manufacturers really use the money to save our environment. From my observation, the Eco fees is just the price hike in disguise. For the past year, we were in the shadow of economic depression. They did not dare to raise the price fearing that they would lose customers. Now, in the name of Eco fees, they "tax" you like the government do. Shouldn't it be "Who made it, who dealt with it?"

The government should give pressure to industry tycoons to force them making more environment friendly products, not allow industry tycoons to suck out money from customers' pockets. The even bigger joke is Ontario government delegate Stewardship Ontario to oversee the recycling programs and the communication for the Eco fees, which is determined by the manufacturers or the retailers. Isn't it funny? If it is not the collusion between government and industry groups, I don't know what it should be.

If they really want to do something good, they should encourage people to return the empty containers by rebating while people carry the deed. But, no, they just charge people money and ignore the fact that people might still dump the containers in the landfills. Then, what good can come from the Eco fees? Feed the fat cats!

I don't know what others think about the Eco fees, but one thing is sured: Mr. McGuinty, you just lose my vote.
