I have been wanting a spiraliser since seeing the brilliant Robyn review them on her blog, Girl on Raw. I love pasta but I’ve really been trying to cut back on the volume of pasta I eat and I thought that having a spiraliser meant I could combine my pasta with vegies and make a more balanced meal. It makes sense, right?

I came across some lovely bunches of baby beets at the farmer's market and had to buy them. I'm trying to expand my vegetable horizons by buying a vegetable I've never tasted or never cooked before and experimenting.

I've never had fresh beetroot before. I have to say that I'm not a huge fan of the stuff in the tins but I just knew freshly homecooked beetroot had to be better than the

Friday (Sunday) Lunch Quick Notes: Blu Grotto Rosalie

Blu Grotto at Rosalie was one of the many Rosalie businesses tragically effected by the Queensland Floods in January. They are still closed and rebuilding but hopefully they will be back soon.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Sorry for the lack of posts recently.

We have been having some problems with our internet which has now cumulated in an unusable phone line and a tenuous (at best) internet connection.

When I say tenuous, I mean tenuous. It cannot handle both D and I being online at the same time and it has put D's World of Warcraft endeavours on hiatus, much to his displeasure. Nonetheless, I wouldn't be a good (ahem) food blogger if I wasn't excited to try something new, so I really couldn't wait.

Over the Christmas holidays, D and I took a day trip up to the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland. We love it up there and we planned a big adventure to take us on a windy touristy journey back down to Brisbane.

We started at Eumundi to visit the Eumundi Markets. We had to start here, because we drove up to the Saturday markets on New Years

Sold on socca

We had a great time at Capri. I loved my meal, it was great and light. The service was friendly and efficient even though the restaurant was packed. I'll come here again.
