I've been using this free photo editing app for the iPhone called "pixlr-o-matic". Any of you guys use it? Of course it isn't better than instagram but I've been loving it so far. There's so many different options and combinations of things you can do to your photos. The filter I've been using the most is this one called "Hagrid", and I found it funny because duh, I thought of Harry Potter. Actually, all the filters are people names which I enjoy for some reason.

Over a year ago I was putting together a lookbook for Lips of Wine. This was my very first attempt at photography, needless to say while looking over these old photos I see my work has grown. Not that I would actually call it "my work" or anything since I still don't consider myself a photographer, but the general idea is that from last year to now I can see a difference. For this lookbook, I scouted a few gorgeous young ladies to model looks from my own wardrobe that I styled. No real purpose for the lookbook, just something fun I wanted to do. I vaguely remember my thought process at the time being, "I want to put together different looks for each girl that portray each of my own personal styles". Because if any of you faithful readers haven't noticed, I don't really have one specific look. I dabble in a little bit of everything; maybe that means I have yet to find a personal style that suits me best, but I'd rather think that I've learned how to perfect what works best for my body no matter what "style" is given to me. I genuinely just love fashion in itself, every style, every look, every piece. Anyways, I chose Ms. Sarah Love to be one of my muses, with that gorgeous long red hair and legs I wish I had, she was the perfect fit for my super feminine and elegant side of style. Don't quite remember why I never posted these, but it might have been because I never got the chance to shoot the other looks, and I wanted to post my lookbook up cohesively. Eventually, the idea itself was thrown out the window and *womps* forgotten about. However, this weekend I ran across these photos and decided to share them with you guys anyways. I left these exactly as I found them, meaning any edits done were also done over a year ago. As stated prior, I wouldn't claim myself to be some master photographer right now, but can you tell the difference between my photos now and then?

This morning I had the strongest craving for some breakfast food, so Dre and I went to Chic Fil A to grab some (well, actually it turned into brunch instead because we missed breakfast and ended up just getting regular meals instead). I was a tad upset because I was really looking forward to an egg and sausage sandwich, if they even have those there because I've never tried their breakfast food before. But then, I took my first bite into that chicken sandwich and I couldn't even be mad anymore... That was my first time having it and I don't know why I've been missing out all these years. It was amaaaziiiing. Anyways, here's a few quick photos of what I wore.

Last Wednesday my boo Barbie asked me to come out for this shoot for clothing brand, Beautiful Nightmare by Mikey G. Without a doubt, hands dowwnnnn this was the funnest shoot I've been a part of ever. The shoot was located at the ruins of an abandoned house on the hill and you can only imagine what a struggle continuously climbing up and down this this hill was. I had to channel my inner acting skills, which are nonexistent by the way, because we had to run around like headless chickens as if someone was chasing us. Need I mention avoiding the thorns and shitloads of weird animal poop? I'll just say that the girls and I concluded the day with cuts, scrapes and bruises galore. After a series of unfortunate mishaps (which included two dead camera batteries, a full memory card, a school principal, and police) we were finally able to produce these wonderful photos, thank you Barbie! The designs on these shirts and crewnecks were all handrawn by the super talented artist Mikey G, and vectored by himself as well. Remember that line from Crazy, Stupid Love where Cal was like, "I'm wearing a shirt, and a sweater under a leather jacket and it's just all sweat down here..." or something like that. Yeah, well this outfit was probably more uncomfortable than any of the others I have worn, layers on layers on layersssss. I felt exactly like he did. Obviously, this emerald green is my new favorite color because it goes with my hair so well. This blazer was an awesome thrift find; when I saw it all I could think of was Scott Disick. People may not like him, but I think his style is great and I felt like maybe I looked like him while wearing this ensemble lol.

It's been awhile since I did a shoot where I was the photographer, so in case any of you forgot what this new section of my blog is about, let me remind you all. I define the word "muse" as a person who inspires creative endeavors. As stated last time, the young men and women whom I choose as muses are not only breathtakingly beautiful, but their motivation to be great at what they do literally pours through their veins. As corny as it sounds, the term "beauty and brains" comes to mind. Most of the time, people assume attractive people are so reliant on their looks that they don't have much else going for themselves. I want to prove that that's not true in anyway whatsoever; I want you all to be able to get to know my muses a little better, and to see that there's so much more to them than just good looks. I hope the people I've selected and their successes will inspire a few of you to keep pushing for your dreams. So now I introduce to you Lori, who many of you probably already know cause she's always in the social scene. She's an adorable bundle of feistiness, jet-setting and networking throughout the US. Twenty-two years young, full blooded Cambodian and currently living in the DMV. There's a little bit of a thug in her, hustling side projects such as throwing events while also working three jobs to take care of her mother. She's an all-around entrepreneur, currently managing a few local artists, hoping one day to be a great manager for upcoming underground artists (Oh, and doesn't she have a slight resemblance to Vashtie?).

This heavy knit from Ralph Lauren is one of my favorite recent pick-ups; it was on sale for like 75% off! Unfortunately, by the time I got to it the only size left was a 2x so I'm basically swimming in it. On the other hand, I love over-sized things anyways and it's super comfortable so whatevz. It's just an absolute must to find ways to wear it without making it look like a house robe.

Hey guys! I've finally recovered from some freakish cold that was so bad I thought I had pneumonia. Now I can share with you all the fun pictures I took last week with Aisha. Ironically, it was from being out in the cold this day that had be bed-ridden for a week lol. Originally, this shoot was supposed to be all for her, but then we ran into the always eccentric Malcolm who was also on his way to a shoot... So he decided to hang with us for a bit and we ended up exploring the streets of downtown Silver Spring while taking turns taking photos of each other (and we ran into so many familiar faces)! Awhile ago my girl Aisha hit me up wanting to do a shoot and we finally made it happen yesterday. Somehow, it turned into a big fun group shoot and we all took turns shooting each other as well as all the people we ran into. Has anyone else noticed how expensive any kind of heel with glitter on them are getting? I also have a bunch of old shoes I don't wear anymore, so it's like killing two birds with one stone by revamping the old into something entirely new for barely any price at all.

These were so fun to make, I went out and bought some other colors to glitterize the rest of my un-worn shoes!

This year I didn't participate in Black Friday, although I did venture out to finally get my hands on a pair of the black cement 3's. I think I've wanted those for as long as I could remember and refused to let the opportunity pass me by once again. Other than that, I got a pair of booties from Guess? for an amazzzing price; can't wait to wear those out!
