Latest Hoarding

Since school is almost over. I want to do more photography shots again. I still paying my training online which I haven't really take advantage for the past 4 months, I think it's time to concentrate with it again. So for my latest product hoarding, radio transmitter. I didn't get the Pocketwizzard. I think there's no use to spend more when at this time I am trying to learn new techniques and improving shots. It's cost saving for me and the advantage is great.

Do you know what it is? It's from Impact. I spend less than expected and I got 2 receivers and a transmitter with extra battery. I am so happy that I got it.

Test shot..

Used Tokina 12-24, D90 with the transmitter on top of a D90 and SB600 mounted to a receiver. Shot the flash in an angle. Nice... SB600 wasn't noisy if to compare using C-mode. Man I am starting to like it.

Used Tamron 28-75, d90 with the same combine set up like what I've mentioned above. With few shots testing the aperture and exposure composition and a tweak in Lightroom 3 i got this finish photo. Amazing! I am excited to try this more.

Impact gives me the power to shoot wireless with a flash syncing the camera. Oh boy! This could be addicting..

Final's Week

Yay finally the week is here. Anytime soon, I can get over with homework, quiz, exam and in short SCHOOL. I am glad I survived. I didn't have a life that I want. So tied up and I can't really do what I wanted to do. Now it's finally over, I can't wait to have more free time.

Hard Times

Crime rates are increasing by the dozens. It’s everywhere. With the time change and economic crisis, crimes are getting rampant in areas when poverty and rate of unemployment is high. I have experienced this in some of the cities here in the bay area. I know one community that used to be a very nice area. The economic crash put so many communities in trouble and the community that I used to know is not the same anymore. It’s so bad to see the change but nothing else we can do. These are the effect of hard times. I hope someday things will get better.

The situation these days, you will never know what to expect. People are doing crazy stuff to live and survive. It’s a good idea to think ahead about knowing where this reliable California criminal lawyer in the area. Better to get references handy just in case trouble comes. Tricky Homework

Oh man I was doing a practical set of one of my homework. It took me 2 full days to work on it and not even finish it. Man the difference of $2.50 was so tricky that I have to review every task that I did and I ended up doing it again almost at the very beginning. I have wasted my time. I should have did it from the start to correct the problem. I am sure there's a way how to do it but because of frustrations my head didn't get to think straight. Gush, this is part of being a student. My weekend was ruined.

I was sitting here at work today using our t1 internet connection while I was working and trying to bid on tickets to the practice round for the Masters golf tournament. Unfortunately, the ticket prices went above my price range. Two practice round tickets sold for twelve hundred dollars! Much to rich for my blood! I have never been, but I try to come up with tickets every year. Each person that I know that has been to the tournament says that it is the coolest thing that they have ever been to (even if they aren’t golf lovers). The course looks pristine on television, but the people who have actually been say that it is so beautiful that you could almost eat off of the course. You can also get really close to very famous golfers. My husband has been before and he said that it was the most fun that he had ever had. He went one year that Tiger won. Since Tiger won the tournament last weekend, I think that there is going to be a huge crowd at the Masters this year.

Well, it has been awhile since writing my last post. Quite so busy with school and my time is so hectic these days. I can't wait school to be over. I have not rested well enough. I have been doing so many homework and lots of reading. I was supposed to take 3 classes but I don't have the time for 3 so I dropped 1 class. It could have been a good training for me. Time is just so hectic I don't want to neglect my personal life as well. I also have less time spending it with friends. I can only do when I have few hours to spend. It's rare these days because of so much reading and homework. Just these week we have our midterm and I did it in flying colors with one subject and the other one will be graded next month, there's the thrill if my score is perfect or just bare pass it.

My photography is neglected as well. I haven't done any reading nor practice. Even my online training I at times forget that I paid for it. Just so busy! I am looking forward for the end of May to get out of school.

Morroco Restaurant, Mountain View

Just a week ago, I had spent an evening at Morroco. I reserved a seat there online but when I told the hostess she said it doesn't matter. The restaurant was not crowded but I liked it. The square footage of the place is small. Decor got the feel of the country. Food was absolutely delicious. Service from staff and owner was good too. Overall, it was nice to dine there.

Appetizer: 3 different flavor briwatts - veg, chicken and crab

Dessert:

chocolate briwatts : green tea ice cream

I grew up in a small town in Alabama. After I graduated from college, I got a job in Atlanta working for a large bank. After working in Atlanta for a few years, I got a great promotion and had to move to Memphis, Tennessee. When I got transferred, I didn’t have a lot of time to shop for things for my new house because I had to start working as soon as I moved. That left my husband in charge of setting up just about everything for our house. He was there when the movers brought all the furniture. He was also the one to tell them where to put everything. I hope I never have to depend on his decorating and furniture arranging expertise again. But one thing he did do right was get us set up for our television service through Memphis direct TV. At least when I come home from work I can still have a little normalcy in my life. Hopefully sometime soon I can work on getting the furniture in the right rooms.

A Bellagio, Campbell

It was nice of my hubby to reserved a seat for our valentines evening. Glad he was able to booked for the day though it was kind of late in doing reservation. He had us reserved at 5pm which was too early but it was a perfect time because after work we were both starved.

The ambiance inside was nice. It's a little tiny place but the decor and seating arrangement was cool. All white linens, some candle light and tiny flower to set up the table. We were greeted by the host and our table waiter was pretty nice too. He spoke italian. Trying to practice I guess because he told us he pretty much knew 50% of the language but he sounded right to my ear.

The food was good. I don't know about the hors d'oeuvres I don't have so much feel about it. I guess it was okay. Cold food really isn't my thing. The pasta dishes was really good. I would say par to my expectation. I got a little carried away with one that has the lobster. It was really a good dish. The main entree I got was the filet mignon. Restaurant cooked it medium rare. I asked them to cook medium for me but still it was kind of bloody. I wasn't into eating it that much. Aside from I was almost full. But the sauce and vegetable with it really complimented the dish. My hubby liked his and he did enjoy it. What I enjoyed most of the dining experience was the desert. I can't live without one. All 3 desert was fantastic. Love it!

Overall, it was nice to dine there. But maybe the pre-set menu price was a little over than what it is. I don't know maybe I am wrong. What I can say is that the experience I had with the place was pleasant. Service was good and the food as well.

Dusita - Thai Place

Hubby and I tried this little Thai place in El Camino. The name of the place is Dusita's. I am not too familiar with the restaurant though I always see it every time I drive El Camino. Hubby was looking for spicy food. He got tired of bland food.

Just trying to check if we could like the place, we did somewhat. Though I really don't like their bbq pork which was cold and taste was just okay but their garlic chicken was good. The pineapple rice was good but not really that good which I was hoping for. This is what you will get if you don't really read reviews. Anyway, somehow the basil rice that hubby got was good though the hot spicy was too much for my mouth.

I have mixed emotions with the place. I might going there just to get their garlic chicken but the rest I don't know if I would still want to.

Back To school

Well, well well what can I say? This is a drastic move. I haven't thought of it until I've realized there's no way for me to grow in my career if I don't take classes. I may have a degree in accounting in the PI but with no experience here accounting per say, companies just snob me. I hate it and I don't like it. So I hope just taking few classes can help boost my resume and confidence of a new employer. I hope one day I can get in to accounting field. I need a change so bad. I am already bored not growing at work.

So, with my 3 classes that I am taking, I don't know if I still have the energy to have some fun with other extra activities. Work, home and school is a challenge. I haven't tried taking 3 classes in one time. I don't know how I can manage with all of these. I will be a busy bee..

Sister and Me

My sister has been talking up Mad Men for years now so I decided to go ahead and go to a website and make sure I had all the Dish Network TV channels I needed to get the program when it came back on this spring. I think we've got a few more weeks before it starts again but I'm pretty much caught up on all the old episodes from watching it as it reruns on the weekends. I can't believe people used to work the way they did in the Mad Menera but I sure wish we were still allowed to have three martini lunches. My boss would absolutely freak out if he thought I even had a sip of alcohol at lunch, much less a decanter in my office! I can't wait to see what's been going on in the characters’ lives since the show went off last year but I'm sure whatever it is will be hard to tear myself away from. It's good TV like that.

Dimsum Craving Satisfied

Hubby took me to ABC restaurant in Milpitas for Dimsum. My very first in the restaurant and I would say the Siomai tasted good. It depends on each individual about their preference but I loved it. Now I know where to go and eat Dimsum. Though I haven't tried others that they offer. I saw a few that I recognized when the cart was passing our table. I saw chicken feet and so many dumplings I am not very familiar with. I also had pork bun it was good for me. I still like eating Siopao in the philippines if to compare it but the bun they have was closer to taste.

Hubby ordered on the side sweet sour pork and crab claw. The latter I wasn't impressed. It was rubbery and it was like eating jelly. I don't like it. The pork was okay. It didn't really give me the wow factor. Overall, I will still go to this restaurant for Dimsum. I love it.

Good Or Bad

Well I feel bad working today. I do everything in the office with no help. My manager is out of the office and my other help is sick. The phones are quite busy. Over hundred calls setting up appointments and hearing some complaints. I know I should not complain about it since I got a stable job but sometimes dealing with people on the phone and co-workers are hard to deal with. It's stress extensive when your phone line system sucks too!

I hate our phone line. I already complain about it. It doesn't really help reduce the stress level when you only have a minute to talk to one line at a time. You will hear this irritating sound of the lines your holding. I have no choice whether to keep it ringing or I will hold the other lines to stop the alarming sound. But with 1 minute it doesn't really help. I ended up having bad donors complaining about why I keep them on hold all the time. The people who invented this system from Toshiba sucks! Our facility people sucks too for keeping this phone at our department.

I also feel bad not even receiving credit for my hardwork today. It's just so bad when people take advantage of you. What can I do this is my work for now? I might have my good days when it's slow. Sometimes it's hard to think the positive when you are at the moment of stress.

Start a new year with a good new year at Don Giovanni for dinner and welcome the year with a toast of Champagne. I just stayed home with hubby and celebrate our solemn and quite evening. The night I dreamed of. I never regret of not having it spend with friends. I am sure it will be more fun with them but I wished to feel relaxed at home. Indeed it was.

On the first day of the year, I spend my afternoon at a friend's house and it was fun full of good food and laughter. It was a moment to celebrate.

All Out Glam - Clinique

I got this new pallete collection from Clinique. It was a birthday gift from a very good friend. The name of the collection is called A seasons Worth of Pretty. When I got it, I was overjoyed. My friend knew that I am still starting out wearing make up and learning how to create different looks.

The good thing about this palette is that it has it's own make up guide. It has 5 different looks and a beginner like me can get benefit with it. I don't have to try and test different color instead I just follow the direction. It was an ease doing it. I love it!

I love my Modesto wireless internet because it’s the only thing right now keeping me from losing my mind. I can take my laptop with me on my sales calls and talk to my sister via email – she’s the only one who knows how much I hate this job. I don’t like to admit it because I moved out here just to take this position but I’m really, really unhappy and I wish I had never thought to make such a big change. There’s something to be said for the comfortable and the familiar and I don’t have either of those anymore…who would have guessed it would take me this long to figure that out? I miss my family way more than I thought I would and even my dad who usually drives me crazy is really popping up in my mind a lot. There’s something about home that’s calling to me and I thought that I couldn’t wait to get out – I guess you never know until you try it though.

Buying Gifts for Loved One

Christmas shopping is in the air. I myself did my own shopping this week. It was a little tedious to find something for the loved ones. But it’s really good to give, so the time and effort of doing so makes it go away. Though I didn’t go to the mall, I was only driving around stores near where I live. It doesn’t save me time and gas but I was glad I got the most of it. I maybe have lack one item but I decided to get it later when it’s already available in the store I am hoping to get.

Not all of us are lucky enough to have a job and have extra money for the holiday. I am thankful in the sense that I have a job and have a little savings so spending is not a problem at this time. For people who wish to find alternative means to show loved ones to give for the holiday, maybe consider send Flowers UK for the lady or gardening tools for men. There are still lots of ways you can do not to spend anything but you just have to get that creativity sparks in your head. Any simple gesture coming from a loved one can work. After a quick glance in Oakland Hills when we did our site seeing a few weeks ago, we dropped to this restaurant. It has the same aura like in Campbell. We were the last customer for the night. It looked empty and so quite. The waitress was very patient and our meals was cook good. We were happy to get a decent meal.

My place needs a cleaning

My carpet now looks terrible. It’s really in a bad shape. There were few dark spots from previous occupation and I have not tried cleaning it thoroughly since we moved. It created a bad spot all over the place. How I wish to have a professional cleaning company like Steam Team to have my place cleaned. They are very reliable in that aspect and make the job well done.

Also, my bathroom needs a cleaning too. I started cleaning it a few weeks ago but there were spots that are hard to clean. It needs stronger chemicals and more scrubbing to do. Global Winter Wonderland, Santa Clara

I had the great time at Santa Clara's Global Winter Wonderland. Hubby and I arrived past 7pm. To get to the ticket entrance you have to pay $10 for parking and $20 for Vip Pass. We chose the $10 and park ourselves. We walked towards the entrance and stood in line for more than an hour. The cold and the chill made it hard to wait but patiently waited. We were starved since we didn't eat dinner that was a bad idea. But we didn't know how the lines to get the ticket. The expectation was to get in line buy a ticket spend an hour but didn't happen. It took us over 3 hours. I had no regrets at all because I like all what's inside.

Oakland California Mormon Temple

I went to this place Saturday night to see how the city looks like on top of the hills. This church happens to be situated on the best spot to see the city. The attraction to this church is not only it's design but it's Christmas decoration too. Probably, it's more beautiful when it's the golden hour or the blue hour. But still getting there was absolutely nice.

For My Brother

My brother is scheduled to have a Gastrostomy tube replacement next year. I was a bit frantic where to get the specific tube to replace it. His doctor prescribed a brand and dimension. Then, I was calling around and emailing my nurses friends. I asked them if they know where and what pharmacy to buy the actual replacement. Two of them responded and it gave me the idea that it’s hard to buy when the patient is out of the country and not local in the area. But I appreciate the thought that they actually responded to my email.

I was glad that the day after I emailed my friend, I got a call from my cousin who is also a nurse who lives in L.A. He told me that he knew where to get it and I don’t have to worry about it. His going to take care of it and will send it to the Philippines. Because of that, I feel like wanting to give him a gift for Christmas or whenever time permits. Maybe, I could look for items at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Men/. They have so many good and quality items for nurses. I might as well consider the uniform for nurses as a gift. It might not be as grand but I think my cousin will appreciate the thought. I know from experience that my cousin is a giver and he doesn’t expect people to give him something in return.
