Fun at Folsom Lake

Taking advantage of the amazing weather we've been having, my friend and I took our littles to Folsom lake for a day of fun in the sun. It was really the perfect day. Kaylin and her besties had so much fun running in the water and throwing rocks. Little man hung with me and we played in the sand, dipped his toes in the water, and played in the sand some more. It was so much fun!

Italian Family Style

With all this Irish Celebrating going on, I don't want to leave out our Italian heritage! One good thing about college, are assignments that make you go out to a restaurant for dinner. Our assignment is to immerse ourself in a culture and of course, I wanted to do something that I love. We went to Buca di Beppo and had an amazing family style Italian dinner. I mean, what says Italian more than the food. It was sooooo fun and yummy too. I mean, who doesn't love pasta and garlic bread, seriously....who?

Oh and if you're wondering why no one else is in the restaurant? It's because when you have this many kids, you go to dinner at 4 p.m. so you can get them home for their 6:30 bedtime and avoid them turning into mini monsters.

Obsession 1: I'm obsessed with...The Hunger Games! Please tell me I'm not the only one. I read the first one months back and couldn't get the 2nd or 3rd from the library because of the waiting list. I finally got them and spent the entire weekend reading the 2nd and 3rd book...in just two days.

I'm SO excited for the movie because the cast looks fantastic!

(Small Confession: While I have such a heavy load in school, the last thing I should be doing is reading The Hunger Games)

Obsession 2: Italian Sweet Cream by Coffee Mate: It's AH-MAZING!!!! Try it, You'll like it.

Obsession 3: Thrift stores are my friend! I got 3 shirts, 1 pair of shorts, 1 skirt, a frame, yarn, a purse, and a kids book yesterday. Since it was President's Day, everthing was 50% off. I spent $17 on all that stuff. SCORE!!

Confession 1: Even though I have a Google + and Twitter account, I don't know how they work and seriously am just scraping by with the basics. I can't even figure out how to change my profile picture on my Google + page...Me no likey Google + it's not user friendly.

Confession 2: I LOVE seeing the "Search Keywords" that take you to my blog, mostly because they don't make any freaking sense but they make me laugh. For example:

"Preggo Plump" - Seriously how in the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks does THAT bring you to my blog?
"9gag costum ideas" - Because I totally post gag "costum" ideas? No...actually, no I have never done that.
"Broken Chalk" - This is actually one of the top referring keyword searches. But, what's funny about that...is the amount of people who are Googling "Broken Chalk" I didn't know it was such a popular search!

Confession 3: I should not be blogging right now, I should be doing homework :)

I'm Diggin that St. Patrick's Day is the next holiday!! Second to Christmas, St. Patty's is my favorite! We're officially renaming St. Patrick's Day to SULLIVAN'S DAY!!

Time to bust out the green, the shamrocks, and the IRISH decor I've been missing since last year.

Avery Office Supplies from Shoplet - Review

In following my New Year, New Me resolution I needed to get more organized so of course when I was offered to review these amazing office supplies offered at Shoplet.com, I knew they would be put to good use.

The first thing I reviewed was the Avery Heavy Duty Ring Reference Binder. This binder is big, sturdy, and easy to open unlike other ring binders that you have to pry open.

Before I had all my home manuals stuffed into a binder and let's just say it wasn't working out.

In keeping with the organization, I was able to review Avery Custom Binder Spine Inserts. These binder labels are so easy to use, I downloaded a template into Word and was able to print the label out and tear it off really easy to slide into the spine. Now I'll never have to wonder what binder has what!

The last thing I reviewed couldn't be more perfect for me. The Avery Note Tabs are perfect because they can be used as binder tabs that you can write on for notes and use them as a page divider. I used them for notes in my text books so I don't have to write in the actual book, just in case I want to sell them back, they're still in perfect condition.

Happy Valentine's Day!

There's another cold making it's way through my family so this wasn't the most eventful week. I still managed to do a few Valentine's Day surprises for my amazing Valentine's.

I woke up to gorgeous red roses, a heart balloon, a card, and some pretty incredible Caramel candies!

Oh and I'm going to sneak in a cute little decoration I made. The hearts cost me $.29 and I just painted them pink and red and added a few polka dots. Super Glued them to a heart Ribbon and voila! Super cheap, cute, easy V-Day decoration!

Baby Geniuses Don't Sleep

I've already shared a bit on Braden's sleep patterns....or lack thereof. It really didn't come as a surprise to me that he wasn't a great sleeper since Kaylin pretty much never, ever, ever, ever slept either.

Most of the days I walk around in a haze of exhaustion....until the coffee kicks in anyways. But as much as I ~~love~~ ~~enjoy~~ have to see Braden 10 times a night, sprinkled in with a few wake ups from Kaylin and Dozer, let's just say Me and the Sandman need to work on our relationship.

My Father in Law shared this story with me and it gave me a different perspective to view my lack of sleep and it's a must share! Especially if you have kids who NEVER sleep!! Now, I think I'm telling the story correctly, and if I forgot a few details, it's probably because I was exhausted from being up all night with Braden.

My Father in Law knows a guy who had a daughter that would never sleep. Never, ever, ever sleep. (sounds familiar). Like me, he tried everything to get his child to sleep through the night but it just never happened. One day, he took his daughter to the doctor and explained how his daughter just would NOT sleep through the night, no matter what he tried. Well, what the doctor told him was something I'm sure he was grateful for:

She isn't sleeping because her Brain is growing so fast!

Well, this little girl, who never ever slept as a baby because her brain was growing so fast, ended up being a 14 year old, accepted to Stanford with a FULL ACADEMIC Scholarship!

So....although Braden and Kaylin aren't good sleepers, now I can at least see the bright side...it's because they're Geniuses!

Babie Geniuses Don't Sleep.....and they obviously don't wear clothes when they play with their toys!!
And that's something I can live with.

Letter Art is absolutely my NEW Favorite thing to do.

I'm always outside or at the park anyways, I figured why not bring my camera and try and find some letters to see what I can come up with.

These can make some pretty cute decorations too and be customized for your name or the holiday!!!!

Love you Frame & Waterfall Hair Twist

Seriously though, I'm actually doing more than pinning....I'm DOING!!

I actually made the "I love you because..." frame a while back and just haven't gotten around to posting it.

I made the frame and wrote on it to my hubby

"I love you because...You make the best coffee ever!"

(because he makes the coffee every morning so it's ready when I wake up)

(Yes, I know he's amazing)

So when he went to bed, I put the frame in front of the coffee pot to surprise him.

Well, when I woke up, this is what I saw:

How sweet is he? I KNOW! I was trying to leave him a sweet note and he left me one instead.

I HEART MY HUBBY!!!!

We've been able to write notes to each other every day and I think everyone should have one of these. Taking a minute to say I love you and thank you to your loved one is a MUST DO, EVERY SINGLE DAY! Go do it...now.

Awesome or Awkward

When I was visiting with my Grandfather this weekend, he was kind enough to give me a box of pictures from when I was a little.

At first I was like...AWESOME!!!!!

Then as I started looking at the pictures, I was like....AWKWARD!!!!

First up, for my NKOTB fans...a picture of me and my sister, early 90's. But check out my sisters shirt...oh and let's not forget the GIANT New Kids on the Block Button.

This one is Awesome for me...and Awkward...if my sister reads this blog post :)

Ok, it's awkward for me too, check out that hair...and those teeth! Thank goodness for braces!

Next up! A picture I've never seen before.

It's the ONLY picture I have of my Mom, Dad, Sister, and I.

Pretty Awesome if you ask me.

Finally, my Grandfather gave me an incredibly special gift. He gave me his favorite book.

A book I've seen him read countless times.

A book he's read more times than I've ever seen.

I have so many memories of my Grandfather and this book, I was blown away when he gave it to me.

"The Cruel Sea" by Nicholas Monsarrat

"One of the classic naval adventure stories of World War II"

He loved this book as you can see by the binding and it's incredibly

AWESOME

that I'll be able to read it too!
