India is a land of celebrations, and if there’s one state that elevates the festive spirit to an entirely different level, it’s Gujarat. Known as the Land of Gods and Divinity, Gujarat beautifully blends tradition, culture, and spirituality. Being from Agra, I’ve always been surrounded by an overwhelming richness in culture and architecture that feels like it’s woven into my very soul. Growing up near Rajasthan, the seamless blending of traditions, rituals, and histories has only deepened this connection. My love for forts, heritage, cultural values, vibrant attires, intricate jewellery, and flavourful food isn’t just an interest—it’s a part of who I am, pulsing through my veins. For as long as I can remember, it had been a dream of mine to experience the magic of Garba during Navratri—the colors, the music, the energy. And finally, this year, that dream turned into reality.

What started as casual chit-chat with friends about the iconic United Way of Baroda Garba soon turned into a full-fledged plan. Trains were booked, passes were secured, and before we knew it, a group of 16 of us was all set for an unforgettable nine-day journey through Gujarat.

From the pulsating beats of Garba in Vadodara, the shopping adventures at bustling bazaars, and indulging in mouthwatering Gujarati delicacies, to the serene and spiritual vibes of Somnath and Dwarka, this trip turned out to be everything I had envisioned—and so much more. Join me as I take you through the highlights of this exhilarating journey filled with dance, devotion, and discovery.

Welcome to Vadodara: The Heart of Garba

Our journey kicked off with great excitement as Vadodara, the Garba hub of Gujarat, welcomed us with open arms. Day 1 was all about exploring the vibrant local markets and shopping for the perfect Navratri attire. In Gujarat, how can you miss the traditional Chaniya Choli and Kediyo? We headed to Nawa Bazaar, the oldest and best place for bargaining. The market offered a stunning range of authentic Chaniya Cholis, starting from ₹800 to ₹30,000, and an incredible selection of oxidized jewelry priced between ₹20 and ₹300. And let’s not forget the colorful Odhani scarves!

While shopping, we indulged in some mouth-watering Gujarati snacks. Jalebi-Fafda is a must-try combo, and when in Gujarat, you have to embrace the “meeth-namkeen” flavors. We devoured local favorites like gathiya, patra, muthiya, sev, and the iconic Gujarati kadhi, which is surprisingly sweet compared to its Rajasthani counterpart. But the highlight of my culinary experience was the Lehsuniya Rotla (garlic-flavored bajra roti), a giant-sized delight!

Day 1: Garba Night, A Dream Come True

As night fell on Day 1, the moment we had all been waiting for finally arrived. Stepping into the gigantic Garba ground of UnitedWay of Baroda, we were awestruck. The dazzling colors of Chaniya Cholis, the festive decor, and the energy of the crowd were simply electrifying. Garba enthusiasts of all ages, from young children to elders in their 70s, were tapping their feet to the devotional beats dedicated to Goddess Durga.

The synchrony in the dance, with thousands of people moving in perfect harmony in large circles, was a sight to behold. The soulful renditions of Kanha and Radha songs added to the divine atmosphere. Barefoot and immersed in the moment, we danced for hours under the hot and humid sky, lost in the love for Garba and devotion to the Goddess.

Day 2: Exploring the Statue of Unity

After barely three hours of sleep, we woke up fresh and buzzing with excitement. Day 2 was all about sightseeing, and we planned a trip to the magnificent Statue of Unity. Located just a couple of hours from Vadodara, this towering tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is a symbol of national pride. The complex has so much to offer, from wildlife exhibits to a fascinating museum and the spectacular light and sound show, which left us teary-eyed with patriotism.

The day ended on a high note, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech and the national anthem resonating in our hearts as we headed back with cherished memories.

Day 3: Garba Glamour on Ashtami

On Day 3, after a day of shopping at Alkapuri Market in Vadodara, known for its stunning Ajrakh prints and traditional handicrafts, the anticipation for the night ahead was palpable. As night approached, the excitement of returning to the Garba ground took over once again. This time, the occasion was even more special—it was Ashtami, a night known for its grandeur, and the energy was on a whole new level.

The Garba grounds were packed with people who had dressed to impress. The Chaniya Cholis were more vibrant, the Kediyos even more intricately embroidered, and the makeup and jewelry reflected the festive spirit. The women, especially, had put in extra effort, adorning themselves in backless blouses, mirror-work skirts, and colorful bangles. It was like watching a moving canvas of traditional Gujarati fashion. The men, not to be left behind, sported Kutchi jackets and vibrant kurtas, adding to the colorful spectacle.

As the night progressed, the music grew louder, and the crowd's enthusiasm reached a fever pitch. Melodies like “Radha nu Roop” and other traditional Garba tunes echoed through the air. Dancing in sync with the crowd, the atmosphere felt electric, as if the collective energy of thousands was being channeled into the rhythmic footwork of Garba.

What truly stood out that night was the confidence and freedom of the women. Well past midnight, girls and women of all ages could be seen confidently riding their scooters, their Garba outfits fluttering in the breeze, as they laughed and giggled with friends. It was a beautiful sight—a testament to how Gujarat strikes a perfect balance between tradition and modernity. The spirit of Navratri wasn't just confined to the dance floor; it overflowed into the streets, creating an atmosphere of celebration, empowerment, and togetherness.

Despite hours of dancing, no one seemed to tire. The energy in the Garba ground remained undiminished, with everyone wishing the night would never end. The magic of Ashtami made this Garba night one to remember forever.

Day 4: A Spiritual Journey to Somnath and Dwarka

Day 4 started on a different note, as we shifted from the electrifying energy of Garba to the tranquil world of spirituality. Our group of 16 set off early in the morning, embarking on a journey to visit the revered Somnath and Dwarka temples. As we boarded our traveller, everyone was glued to their phones, reliving the excitement of the previous two days by flipping through Garba pictures, videos, and shopping snaps. For a moment, it felt like the trip was winding down. But that mood didn't last long—as soon as we started joking around, indulging in delicious snacks, and gulping down refreshing buttermilk, the energy was back in full swing.

In just 8 hours, we arrived at Somnath, just 20 minutes before the Aarti was about to begin. We rushed to our rooms, which were thankfully just 500 meters away from the temple. With barely any time to freshen up, we dashed to the Somnath Temple, and all the hustle was worth it.

The temple stood tall, bathed in golden hues, resembling a royal palace. Words can’t do justice to its beauty—it was spotless, well-organized, and surrounded by an aura of peace. Somnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, left us in awe. The darshan process was smooth; you didn’t have to walk much, and there were water jars available outside for purchase to offer Jal Abhishek to the Shivling.

That day, being Navami, the Shivling was adorned in an elaborate Ardhanarishwara sringar (half-Shiva, half-Parvati). It was a soul-soothing moment, one of those experiences where you feel an instant connection with divinity. The temple’s serenity made the experience even more special, offering us a quiet respite from the excitement of the days before. It was a perfect way to reset, filling our hearts with peace before continuing our spiritual journey to Dwarka the next day.

Day 5: A Visit to Dwarkadhish Temple

Day 5 started bright and early as we made our way to meet Dwarkadhish Ji, Lord Krishna, at the sacred Dwarka temple. Located near the confluence of the Gomti River with the Arabian Sea, Dwarka’s majestic structure resembled an ancient palace. The temple’s intricate carvings and grandeur made it an awe-inspiring sight, though it had a different vibe compared to Somnath.

Unlike the peaceful ambiance of Somnath, Dwarka was bustling with people, cows roaming around, and a more chaotic atmosphere. The temple wasn’t as clean or well-organized as Somnath, but its historic significance made up for it. One important tip: avoid carrying phones into the temple. You’ll have to deposit them before entering, and the long queues to collect them later can be time-consuming. Despite these small inconveniences, the darshan of Dwarkadhish Ji was a spiritually fulfilling experience.

The charm of Dwarka lies in its rustic beauty, where tradition and history come alive in every corner. It felt like stepping back in time, where Lord Krishna himself once ruled.

The Final Chapter

After a week action-packed days, we returned to Vadodara, feeling fulfilled yet nostalgic. The warmth of Gujarat, its rich traditions, and the unmatched vibrancy of Garba had captured our hearts. As we made our way back home, we couldn’t help but reminisce about the unforgettable memories we created.

From the dazzling Garba nights to the spiritual serenity of Somnath and Dwarka, Gujarat has left an indelible mark on my soul. Navratri in Gujarat is an experience of a lifetime, one that I will cherish forever. Whether it’s the dance, the food, the shopping, or the divine aura of its temples, Gujarat truly lives up to its title as the state of Gods and divinity.

I know Goa is too much to consume even if it is one of the smallest states, Goa is one that you can never have enough of.

I'll try to make it easier for you to plan your weekend getaway or for that matter holidays too, in this blog post. Goa is a place where anything can be found. The fact that people of all ages are welcome here is what I like most about it. I've been coming here since I was 11 years old and have done so on birthdays, anniversaries, weekend getaways with friends, and now with my child. I always feel refreshed when I visit. Specifically, Goa is split into two sections, south and north. This blog is worth reading if you're looking for weekend activities in North Goa.

Things to do in North Goa

Goa has whatever you might think you'd like. There is therefore something available for you, depending on the reason you came to Goa.

North of Goa is fun! A happier, and more vibrant young Goa.

Consider the following inquiries as you examine your "Goa Trip": Do you want the option to place a food and beverage order? Are you more of a water fun person or do you prefer a calm sea? Would you prefer sun tan or sun set? Would you prefer music on the beach or peace and quiet? Do you want to make some memories while dancing, vibing on the beach or you want to sip n gaze at sea? A sport person or romantic one?

How to Reach Goa

By Air: Goa is well connected from any of the metro cities in India. You can book a direct flight from the link given here Easemytrip for the best and most affordable experience.

By Train: North Goa's closest railroad station is Thivim.
If your train doesn't stop there, Madgaon is your last option. Get off the train and book a cab; Ola and Uber aren't yet available in Goa. A local cab will cost between INR 1000 to INR 1500.

By Road: Due to the connectivity of the roads and the ease of navigation, if you are planning a road trip, be sure to enter through Panjim. It is a big time savior believe me, I am claiming this out of my own experiences from various roads.

Where to Stay in North Goa

Staying again is a matter of choice and the kind of traveler you are.

Sharing the list here choose as per your trip kind.

1. Leela Cottages

A few steps up from the beach are some very adorable cottages with their own private sun beds set back from the beach.

2. Wigwam

This place is on the Mandrem side but also heading towards Arambol, and is inland, not on the beach. These incredible tipis are located in a lush garden and have the most beautiful outdoor restrooms.
Choose Wigwam if you want a distinctive and different place to stay. You can ride the bicycles to the beach for a brief distance.

3. Jardin D’Ulysses

The rooms are really lovely, the atmosphere is peaceful, and it will feel like checking into home. This is a lovely place to stay, a little away from the actual Morjim Beach.

They also have a fantastic restaurant.

4. Resort Oxygen

Despite not being on a beach, there is an infinity pool where you can watch the sun set. The cottages are charming, quiet, and cozy.

5. Buena Vida Beach Resort

This property's location is breathtaking. It's right on the beach, they have limited villas with each villa having a patio facing the vast line of beach.

6. Pause by the Sea

New and nicely decorated Bali-inspired cottages with lovely gardens and a pool. The resort serves the best food in town. Morjim Beach is 200 m from Pause By The Sea, while Ashwem Beach is 1.9 km from the property.

7. Landmark Goa Villas

These are elegant villas that would be suitable for a group outing or if you and your friends were looking for a place to hang out and have fun.

8. Sibaya Beach Resort

Within budget, right next to beach, and very very clean n green resort. I like the sunsets from this place.

9. Circle

This is a new entry guys, awesomely unique, and a sustainable travel property. I didn’t get chance to book it so can’t review the services, however I am already in its fan club conceptually.

Red Thread Vegator, Synq Morjim, Living Room Beach Resorts, Montego, Woke Hostel, Artist Cottages are well maintained, decent and budget properties to opt for a longer stay.

Nightlife in Goa

When I say party I am mentioning here “The Beach Party”.
Without wasting you time, listing is as follows:

HillTop

Situated between Vagator and Anjuna Beaches in Goa, The HillTop stands as a legendary trance party venue since 1974. It preserves the 60s Hippie atmosphere. Nestled on a small hill, it offers a chance to unwind amidst dance, delectable food, vibrant cocktails, and great music. While Sundays witness the club's vibrant energy, the operating hours are limited from 5 PM to 10 PM. Evolving from a roadside eatery to Goa's premier psychedelic trance destination, HillTop boasts neon-lit palm trees, creating an enchanting ambiance for partygoers and diners alike. Renowned for hosting the HillTop Festival in February, the club attracts top national and international artists.

9Bar Goa

DJs come from all over the world to play here. Due to its proximity to numerous hostels and guesthouses, tourists frequently stop by for parties. Amazing views of the Arabian Sea are a benefit of this location. Every time I've gone, admission has been free, but depending on the DJ, some big parties may charge a small fee to enter.

The Goa Collective Bazaar

Markets are a huge part of our incredible Indian culture and also for me, a large part of the excitement of traveling. It doesn’t matter if you actually need to buy anything, I believe you should always jump at the chance to visit a market. During the busy season, which runs from the end of November to the end of April, the market is open every Friday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. It can be found in North Goa in Vagator at the famous Goan Trance venue of Hilltop. Entry costs 100 rupees per person, and if necessary, a stamp is provided to permit re-entry. You can find some amazing boutique stuff also, if you are bringing children, I would advise arriving early to partake in the art activities that are typically offered in the kids area near the entrance.

Dubki

Dubki, the dawn and dusk cafe on Ozran Beach, looks dazzling in every inch and has the most coveted sea views anyone can ever ask for, peppy vibe, great ambience and a perfect instagrammable happy place. DJ here is a bolly pro, ample of space to lagao thumkas of your kind. I love it, totally!

Sea Turtle

Sea Turtle at bagha beach, total jam packed nightlife vibes with sand under you feet and sea breeze in your hair.

Restaurants of North Goa

When in Goa you must hop between flavors.

Pisco by the beach

This restaurant at Anjuna is light and airy and has spectacular view of the Ocean. It is constructed to resemble a resort villa. Pisco's food is more than just a meal.

Baba Au Rhum

A tiny eatery serving delicious pizzas and other food at Anjuna is known as Baba Au Rhum. I'd heartily endorse going here for breakfast.

La Plage

No matter what type of cuisine you're craving, Morjim has it. You can get the best food there. You should really space out your visit here so you can eat at each of these places, in my opinion. La Plage offers something for everyone with its secluded beach, authentic French cuisine, and breathtaking sunsets. Don't miss out on the chance to eat, drink, and celebrate in Goa!

Khana and love café

The road up to Morjim Beach has the cutest, coziest little cafe. Along with great coffee and smoothies, they also have a small boutique with hip clothes. They have a lovely terrace where you can eat lunch, dinner, or breakfast. Although not the fastest, the food was excellent!

Activities In North Goa

North Goa has a lot of water activities available, including jet skiing, banana boat rides, parasailing, and more, just like the majority of North Goa beaches. My advice is to haggle with the sellers. If engaging in adventurous activities is not your cup of tea, you can also choose to simply relax on the beach, go swimming, or get a massage. You can go out and shake your booty at any number of nearby parties.

Hey how have you been, it's been a while, long time no see.............to...tu zinda hai k parlok nikal liya?

A kind love, an unconditional support system, friendship is never out of the league.

Silliest mistakes, careless talks, squeezing money for a friend in need in a judgement free zone, be it late night food hunting or early morning chai ki tapri, at some random hill, I have it all in my list which we have done together. Being with such personalities who may be a reason of your multiple conspiracies ..is a lifetime memory and part of my own story.

With aging and other commitments you may not be talking everyday, you still feel their pain, you still know whenever you need them they will reach out to you, in worst of your time they are standing tall. Having such life partners is a tempting treat.

The toughest part of this relationship is to keep it alive, people come n go in life but being with ones who were supposed to be your kins in their thick n thins is never easy.

My idea or you can call it a yet not achieved goal of friendship is inspired from 19th century, my grandfather, my dad, they have a certain level in their friendship. Their friends were no less than families. 60's reunion in a school uniform, tea parties of endless chats about kisne kis ko kitne dhoke diye, preparing a meal with very personalized touch for your friend when you are 70 already..... admiring this pure non malign love since my childhood.

Is there an official Friendship Day?

I should confess on this Friendships day that I haven't been this committed, a feeling of deep-seated resentment still exist. Expectation of him/her calling me as I am grieving, expecting him/her to be available as n when I need them, expecting them to be back on their own. To be in this state is no luxury m sure. As we are a part of social media exposed generation wherein people are highly expressive and with sudden NON-EXPECTED cold instances when you are already fancying for a bollywood movie inspired friendship goals, it HURTS! The poor friend on the other side of the world, unknowingly hurt you on the grounds of your non attained desirable attention.

Yes, friends are supposed to be your support system but you need to call out for help, express your wishes and give them their predefined space which they own.

Happy Friendship!

To keep in touch is in the simplest form of all time now, a phone call - once in a while is enough to let them know you still care for them. Even if you are not swearing on your friendship, not going to holidays together, not partying the whole night, and yet manages to hold tight, Salute to you.

With a tickle in my travel appetite, I set myself up to step in the lap of nature. Therefore, I planned a Trip of the Uttrakhand’s Kumaon Region of large Himalayan tract, covering Nainital, Ranikhet, Kausani and Almora.

There is an Icelandic proverb that says- "You will reach your destination even though you travel slowly." Holds true for Kausani.

Such an untapped place it is. Tucked atop a ridge, the village is engulfed by dense pine trees overlooking the Someshwar Valley, Garur, and Katyuri Valleys! Very few places in the world can boast of beauty similar to Kausani and the tiny village enjoys the stature of a cute, quaint hill station of Uttarakhand.

A pacifying place for solo travelers and a paradise for bloggers like me. Photogenic, calm, and a virgin place when it comes to monetization of hill stations.

In terms of distance, the village is about 51 km north of Almora. Kausani is an ideal winter destination. Even more so, this is the perfect place to ring for the Peaceful New Year Eves! Winter season boasts of the most stunning crystalline views of snow-covered peaks! However, don’t let this stop you from visiting in the summer months from April to June – which provide their own kind of beauty. Established to promote the traditional Kumaoni artwork, this industry now serves as a major source of employment for the local people, shepherds and weavers. Another tourist spot is Anasakti Ashram, has been built as a tribute to the Mahatma who visited this place for about two weeks in 1929.

Seoul - The first city of South-Korea.

Seoul is a dynamic city where modern skyscrapers and high-tech public transport meet the traditional palaces, Buddhist temples, street markets, and mountain trails. The city hosts major shopping thoroughfares with bars and markets that stay open for 24 hours.

Since the end of Korean War, the city has had major transformation and it is constantly progressing towards its current status as a global economic force and major player in the world of technology.

The Han River flows through the city with twenty-nine bridges that span its waters enabling people to shuttle from north to south of the city via trains, buses or cars.

I happen to learn and explore a lot about the city during my short visit to Seoul. The city is so attractive that it will make you fall in love with itself.

Gyeongbokgung Palace

Also known as Palace of Shining Happiness. It is located on the city’s main boulevard, Sejongro, close to the Blue House, the President’s residence. It was built by King Taejo at the end of the fourteenth century. A walk through the grounds of this Joseon Dynasty palace is a walk back in time. It is connected to the Jongmyo, a Cofucian shrine to kings and queens of the Korean Josean Dynasty. English tours can be booked in advance, or simply look out for one of the ‘greeters’.

Hyangwonjeon Pavilion is artfully built on an artificial island of a lake which make it beautifully captured by lens. The highlight of the palace is Guard Changing Ceremony where all the guards with traditional clothes, followed by a raging music instrument, march with flags, sword, and shield on hand. It is truly a mesmerizing experience.

Don’t have time to visit traditional village in Gyeongju or Andong Hahoe Folk Village? Worry no.
In Seoul you can still see a complex of traditional houses. With more than 1,000 hanoks, some of them remains as a living place for Koreans. Some houses are opened as guesthouse, or just a mini museum for people. If you are interested, you can participate in many traditional Korean crafts. For example: learn how to play a traditional Korean instrument. It is also a great place for taking instagramable pictures.

Make sure to go to Samcheong-dong Culture Street; every Saturday there is a market and throughout the weekend there are many street performers A special feeling when you walk through the hilly alleys.

N Seoul Tower attracts travelers with the opportunity so see a stunning view of Seoul City from the observatory deck. Standing on the top of Namsan Mountain, originally functioned as communication and observation tower, the enchanting view awaits you. Need not to miss having dinner in N-Grill Restaurant.

There are seven tree-shaped frames covered with Wish Padlocks at the base of the tower. Chains of locks are stacked forming a tree of locks full of wishes from people around the world.

Seoul has many interesting districts with different vibes and characters. The famous Gangnam District (Gangnam Station line 2) is for upper class Seoulists with branded shops and pricey clubs.

Hongdae District

(Hongik Univ Station line 2) most backpacker hostels can be found here. Maybe can be said as never sleep district. Full of youngster, the hype is just so wild and young with lots of bars, restaurant and small shops.

Our favorite area of the city! Always busy with many youngsters, street performances, which results in a great vibe. Located right in the middle of the area is the Gyeongui Line Forest Park. It’s a unique place where you can enjoy urban culture and greenery at the same time. It’s also a great place to have a beer at night with friends and mix with the locals.

Itaewon

Itaewon is more like expat district because it is near to US military camp. Very clean environment, unique shops and hosts western type of restaurant.

Itaewon feels like a different world in the city. This is the foreigner’s neighborhood of Seoul, where you can find the multicultural part of Korea. It might not be the most traditional of places but it’s a prime example of the way foreigners have weaved their way into the fabric of Korean society and what makes expat life in Korea different from anywhere else.

Dongdaemun Market

Dongdaemun Market is more down to earth, suitable for everybody who seeks for affordable option.

Myeongdong District

Myeongdong District is known for its affordable prices and the irresistible street food!
Looking for traditional Korean Souvenirs or artistic stuffs, make your way to Insadong (Anguk Station line 3) and check out the beautifully decorated stores there.

DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone)

The cold war between South and North Korea can be felt in DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), the buffer zone between two countries. The two squabbling countries agreed to set up the DMZ, an area of 2 kilometers on each side of the appointed line.

The DMZ tour from Seoul will take you to witness the gloomy past of the war happened between both countries. It also covers the observatory deck, where you can see directly the land of North Korea, and deserted Dori Station which is supposed to connect Asia and Europe. In this tour you will learn what happened in the past, and about the hopes of people to end this war.

War Memorial of Korea

Memorial exhibits, war memorabilia, art works, and military equipment. It is a perfect place to learn about Korea’s history of war, most notably with North Korea. Also displayed here, are the pillars representing the support provided to South Korea from various different nations.

There are many more exciting things in and around Seoul such as COEX Mall (Asia’s largest underground shopping mall), temples and palaces.

Indeed, Seoul often presents itself as a city of colorful garden, a mirror of its past and a reflection of its future. 😊

...SEX, the most passionate experience which is capable of giving the divinest pleasures that one can think of. Our Ancient era was way more liberal, where women had an equal say in what they enjoyed and wanted to share in bed, Sex was considered as a divine ritual. This was firmly believed that Love is in the true of nature of human and sex is a form of expression. We all know about the Kama Sutra. Indians were one of the first civilizations to have written text, educating and informing people of the richness of sexual pleasure.

Now fast-forward to 21st century wherein sex is banished from talks, it is been discouraged to be in our curriculum. Even today being in my 30's I can talk—and have talked—about nearly everything with my parents. But when it comes to sex, we revert to our prepubescent selves, giggling at every anatomical term. Or, we make jokes about it to mask our discomfort. Call it immature, or call it the product of an education that taught us little to nothing about the mechanics of sex. I often overheard my parents and grandparents talking about how Cinema is playing a role in promoting sex weirdly and absurdly. To some extent, I agree with them when it comes to toddlers or even early teenagers this is too much information about SEX which is not been aptly introduced to them.

But....but how will they learn about sex if we as parents do not encourage these curious sex talks with them. Whenever they ask how babies are made, we opt to feed them with fancy stories or navigate them to some other point. We left no options for them and thus they quell all their curiosities by "OTT", wherein a man is thrusting a woman with a naked back and this woman has nothing to do apart from making appealing voices. We call it a liberal era, literally? I remember when I saw this song "Tip Tip Barsa Pani" in front of my father though he managed to change the song as soon as he noticed me gazing at the act, he shouted pretty well and then it was from eyes "tip tip barsa pani", horrifying believe me, I was like this is something very wrong that these guys were doing in rain, so only he has changed the channel. For me I was a "Tathastu" kid, believe me this is an honest confession I still feel the same because denial is quite strong here.

So if you do not want your kid to hop from one porn site to another aimlessly and unknowingly that these sites are for adults as it has grown-up content, then do talk to your kids as early as often!!

How? When? Why?

So this "why" I have already answered above, Talking with your kids about sex may not be easy, but it’s important — and it's never too early to start. Your support can help them make healthy choices as they grow up.

It may be hard to know where to start, especially if your parents didn’t talk to you about sex when you were growing up.

There is more risk with not telling them enough than telling them too much.

By the age of 2, kids start noticing their surroundings. They start touching and exploring their body parts, incorporate the proper names for genitals into everyday activities like bath time, try to be honest, and explain things biologically. Like we have names for every body part, for example, ankle, knees, head just like that vagina, penis, nipples are our body parts too. Kids need these words to communicate health issues or injuries.

Nadine Thornhill a sex - educator recommends avoiding connecting sexual biology to gender. For example, drop the idea that all boys have penises and all girls have vaginas. Instead say, “People with penises” or “People with vaginas.” Thornhill explains that by watching your language now, you set the groundwork for easier conversations about gender roles and identities later.

Ultimately, when it comes to kids, you want to empower your child to be able to evaluate risks and make good decisions. “Helping kids understand that they have a gut, an inner voice, and they can and should listen to it, is a big part of what sex education is about,”

Going On A Journey Within!

This line has triggered various thoughts in - cluttered with ample of thoughts and negated mind many a time.

We are all unique individuals. We all have special qualities, talents and gifts that only we possess which make us wonderful and fascinating people. But have you ever met this side of yours?

For me the answer is Darn Yes!

The Threshold

It was 2012 when I was going through a really hard time in my life both personally and professionally, I felt suffocated and choked in the situation where I was stuck. I packed my bag and headed to Bus Depot, decided to board the bus whichever is the first, and it was for Shimla. The air in Shimla calmed me down and made me experience something I had never felt before. I started feeling light as if I have shed all the burdens. I had a consistent body pain from earlier which seemed to disappear in that moment. I soaked in the salubrious mountain air. It was at this moment I realised, how vulnerable I was! I cried for hours, was so overwhelmed with emotions and then felt free.
Sometimes a long road trip or a secluded retreat away from home is that missing key that finally unlocks the new quest we have been hoping for. That quest was for "listening to myself" undoubtedly! Some people travel to explore the unknown while others travel to reconnect with themselves, something they have lost in the hustle-bustle of their robotic existence.
Cruising on the road, enjoying the scenic beauty, bonding with different kind of people, knowing various cultures does evoke positivity.
It gives you a better sense of decision-making and allows you to empathize more.
Travel experiences can not be described in mere words, unexplainable and for me, it is absolutely divine. I unplug myself whenever I can, to feed my soul and to connect to something which is larger than life.

The Enlightened New Age Wanderer

Nowadays travel has placed itself in a new place where everybody is categorized in some or the other travel mood. There are people who travel solo and there are the ones who go with random people in a group.
The motive behind this is to hang loosely from their hectic life and give themselves a well-deserved quality time.

Travel allows us to spend some time that is meant to be spent on ourselves by avoiding the unnecessary mess of conflicting thoughts wherein we are judging ourselves for no reason.

Travel not only allows us to explore more but also makes us question and discover the very oneself which has been lost in this pretentious world. Traveling in own kind is equally important, it mold you in many certain ways. When we travel for experiencing new cultures or globetrotting to other countries, it surely broadens the perspective. There are people who travel for spiritual awakening or happiness. So to travel is very much of your choice, you may travel for leisure or to seek knowledge. But in the end, you will not feel the same that you do in general. I do overpack memories from my small trips even, which is why I am always nostalgic with hunger pangs for more.

Realisation

What happen when you travel? Why in movies dialogues reiterates that live in the moment...?

As we incorporate what we learn into what we know, our minds start expanding, enabling us to understand everyone's perspective. When understanding got built up we start empathizing and thus we become more compassionate. This interconnectedness with all that is around, give birth to self - realization which is our innate purpose for life.

Travel helps foster our foundational teachings because we are on the move, going from one place to another to the next; nothing is permanent. It offers to teach us to "Live Lightly" and relish experiences and relationships.

Naturally, the fact can't be denied that money gives us happiness, but have you ever questioned yourself that what makes you deeply, soulfully, and genuinely happy? To answer this, we need to get out of our comfort zones and become aware of more than just our typical daily routines. Is it enough to Just reach a destination? The answer is NO! As the series of actions while travelling, carries an inherent ability to change the level of our joy.

Travel Within

Whenever I travel I feel like my best self, split free, flowing with the bliss of love. I question my sufferings and ask myself, I start from communication to persuasion and then finally expressing myself. I accept myself exactly as I am. This is the sense of gratitude that I attain by traveling.
It allows me to live in the moment, seize the day and learn from experience and move on to the next.
I travel for the sake of myself and my peace within.
You choose your reasons, but remember to live lightly and relish the experiences.

My first confrontation with Tokyo was through Big Screen. I am a big fan of Old Romantic Movies. A very famous love tale from Bollywood “Love in Tokyo” gave me ample reasons to put Tokyo as a destination in my travelling spree.

Tokyo is not just the most populated city of world, it is most engaging, and it’s a city with unique blend of ultramodern sky touching towers and traditional Shrines.

The city which is now sheltering maximum population was once a small Fishing Village named “Edo”.

There is a lot to see, do and eat in this Capital City of Japan..

Not To Be Missed in Tokyo | Key Attractions in Tokyo

Toy Centre – Akihabara

Akihabara, a shopping center known for its electronics retailers, ranging from tiny stalls to vast departmental toy stores. Akihabara has gained recognition as the center of Japan's otaku (diehard fan) culture. It is an address to many shops and establishments devoted to Anime, Manga and Video Games.

The place could also be visited to buy some Japanese electronics. The shops here offer everything from the newest computers, cameras, televisions, mobile phones, electronics parts and home appliances to second-hand goods and electronic junk.

My visit to Akihabara was targeted to buy a time tracker. And undoubtedly, this place justified to be on my list of attractions.

Old Tokyo – Asakusa

Asakusa is a district which still holds the remains of old Tokyo alive within its dense streets.

Asakusa's main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century. Sensoji was built for the goddess of Kannon (Goddess of Mercy). The temple is approached via the Nakamise Street, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries.

One thing which is very unique about this colorful temple is the Fortune Reader Corner. (Read your fortune by OMIKUJI)

To my surprise, I got good fortune in my both attempts. 😉😉

Must Try Local Snack @ Sensoji - Ningyo Yaki

Ningyo Yaki is the most popular souvenir from Asakusa and sold at many shops on Nakamise Street.

It’s a sweet cake filled with sweet red bean paste usually in shapes of dolls, birds and Asakusa’s symbolic lantern “Kaminarimon”.

Ningyo Yaki found way to by bag as souvenir for my friends.

Discovering an old tale is always fascinating but it could not beat the fun of experiencing World’s most busy pedestrian crossing, so do mark your way to Shibuya District

Shibuya District | Famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing

Shibuya is a center for youth fashion and culture, and its streets are the birthplace to many of Japan's fashion and entertainment trends.

A prominent landmark of Shibuya is the Bronze statue of dog Hachiko.

The tale goes that Hachiko, an Akita dog, used to wait at Shibuya Station at the same time and place every evening for his master to return home. One day the master, a university professor, did not show—he had died suddenly at work. Despite his master’s passing, Hachiko continued to wait faithfully for his owner at the same time each day until his own death. The bronze statue stands in the place he used to wait and is now the famous meeting point in Shibuya.

The 2009 Hollywood film “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale” starring Richard Gere is based on this story.

One of the most identifiable landmark to the Tokyo city is definitely Shibuya Crossing.

Shibuya Crossing is like a giant beating heart, sending people in all directions with every pulsing light change. Nowhere else says ‘Welcome to Tokyo’ better than this. Hundreds of people – and at peak times upwards to 3000 people – cross at a time, coming from all directions at once, yet still not dodging each other with a practiced, nonchalant agility.

My excitement forced me to join the road crossing parade not just once but many a times 😊

While in Shibuya, give a visit to Disney Store. The store is so well themed. I loved all of the different rooms themed to Disney movies. We did use the ticket buying service for the Tokyo Disneyland Park.

As we all know disneyland is not just a theme park it is the "Nostalgia". It was the first Disney theme park outside of the United States. Modeled as Disneyland in California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland gives you ample reasons to consume your one full day.

Harajuku – Takeshita Street

Harajuku is a Tokyo neighborhood best known for its bright colors and trendy shops. It is where Japan's kawaii culture began and continues to thrive.

Harajuku’s iconic main street, Takeshita Street, is a must-see on a trip to Tokyo. Located a few steps from Harajuku Station, this pedestrian paradise is generally packed most days of the year.

Takeshita Dori (Takeshita Street) is a narrow, roughly 400 meter Long Street lined by shops, boutiques, cafes and fast food outlets targeting Tokyo's teenagers. An ideal evening dating idea of mine is with coffee in one hand and vast open sky in front, and Sky Tree has augmented this idea of mine!!

The top floor of the SkyTree (tallest structure of Japan) features tall, broad windows that offers the best 360 degree panoramic view of the Tokyo city.

Tokyo is a hi-tech showcase of modern Japan, and yet it still retains the soul of traditional Japan.

A city which will make you fall in love for itself.

IS GENDER A SOCIAL CONDUCT?

HOW TO DRAW NO LINE | GENDER ROLE

As a human being, I have to fight gender stereotypes in my day-to-day life and am forced to cling to the patriarchy. Yes, I do!

When we talk about gender equality or think of being liberated, we come across numerous thoughts. Let me put it with an example to phrase it in more particular. For a working mother, there is always a fact check running back of her mind that whether this is needed, is it good to leave the baby at home? A full time, staying-at-home mother is wrapped under this blanket of guilt of leaving her carrier and choosing family over her growth. Women have to choose, why? Men are capable enough to nurture a child why are they not given chance? Why weren't they are asked to sit at home instead? Why genders and their roles are preset by society? Why we just copy paste?

There are a few exceptions that I don't disagree with. I mean there are women who are fiercely independent and there are men who do not believe in gender stereotypes. Sadly genders do not have an equal playing field in life overall. I don't think that gender equality is sweeping in anywhere, it is being dragged to girth and portrayed negatively.

Recently I run through this article which talks about Hyperfeminity and Hypermasculinity. This is the exaggeration of stereotyped behavior. Hyperfeminine folks are supposed to be passive, naive, sexually inexperienced, soft, flirtatious, graceful, nurturing, and accepting. Hypermasculine folks are supposed to compete with other men and dominate feminine folks by being aggressive, worldly, sexually experienced, physically imposing, ambitious, and demanding. These behaviors are actually infused from childhood. Boys don't cry, girls don't talk loudly, be brave like a hero, you are looking like a princess and what not. In every story be it Rapunzel or Sita Mata there is a hero who saved them. Poor heroes, they can not stow away even if they are fearing to death, no room for failure!

Just like the other stereotypes Virginity has gained the importance it doesn't deserve. Virginity has nothing to do with dignity for sure. If a human female lose her virginity to someone in past and is not married to him, equates the girl of being bold and characterless and the other one who was equally involved in the lovemaking is now nowhere in the picture!!

These distinctions are not even taught they just exist. Men are unknowingly preached to claim ownership over a woman by means of intercourse. When it comes to parenting, once a girl attains puberty, virginity feels like a treasure to behold.

Something every parent wants to acknowledge and protect but doesn’t want to address and strangely, it only extends to the girl child. So, when a girl loses her virginity before marriage, this adds insult to injury, now she is profane.

That’s what’s consistently argued- biology, biology, biology. At what point do we give the whole nature vs nurture argument the finger and start addressing the inequalities present in society? Equality has to be a human fight not a female fight! We’ve evolved beyond primal needs; medieval laws no longer apply to 21st century postmodernism.

We are being hard on ourselves, which is not needed.. Gender is not something that we have opted, it is gifted to us, then how come roles are assigned to it and how could behaviors are expected out of it. How could discrimination justify the existence? Is gender a social conduct? The answer lies in execution!

I will start with the one I am using right now, and my favorite too.

VITAMIN C SERUM

Oily, acne-prone, dry or combination skin, this serum has got you covered! This treats pigmentation, scars, spots, blemishes, wrinkles and whatnot. This has worked wonders on my skin. It makes my skin so plump and glowing.

Ingredients Required:

Fresh Organic Orange Peel - Half of an orange

Rose Water - 2 Tablespoon ( May vary )

Are you wondering whether I have missed mentioning the other elements, the answer is NO. This is it.

Prep Time - 60 Seconds

Steps to follow:

Grind the peel with rose water

Make sure this paste should not be of runny consistency. It should be thick like jelly

Strain the mixture and press the residual with a spoon to extract all that we need

Apply it all over your face and neck and leave it overnight, if it feels comfortable on your skin. However, you can wash your face after 30 minutes too

You can add a quarter teaspoon of whey water (the watery portion of milk that separates from the curds), only if your skin is dry and you feel the need.

Things to remember

Do not use waxed oranges.

Only use fresh orange peel.

As it has anti-oxidants, make only small batches for storage, so that you can use all the goodness.

Store it in a glass bottle only.

Can use on daily basis, but I suggest go with your instinct, any which way it suits you the best, daily, alternative day, in every two days. Whichever suits your skin the best

VITAMIN A SERUM

I believe that age is just a number, though skin and body start showing up the signs of aging. Vitamin A is well known for reducing aging. Vitamin A also helps to speed up healing, prevent breakouts and support the skin's immune system and it promotes natural moisturising - which means it helps to hydrate the skin effectively, giving it a radiant glow. Well this Serum will certainly make you look younger and brighter. It gets absorbed in the skin instantly and thus helps in reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Ingredients Required:

Aloe vera Gel (colorless and odorless)- 1 Tablespoon

One Vitamin A Capsule.

1 Carrot. (Highly rich in Vitamin A)

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Steps to Follow:

Grind carrot in a mixer grinder without water

Strain it and extract the juices

Take a bowl, extract the contents of one Vitamin A capsule

Now add the carrot juice and aloe Vera gel, mix them well and make a gel consistency paste

Apply it all over your face and neck.

Things to Remember

If you are not using organic carrots, wash them properly, peel of the skin, and then grind.

Only use the best quality Aloe Vera Gel.

EXFOLIATING GLOW SERUM

A blend of natural alpha hydroxy acids works to gently exfoliate skin cells to lighten hyperpigmentation and smooth out texture. Basically, there are two types of exfoliations, one is physical and the other one is chemical. Fortunately for natural beauty lovers, you don’t need to buy harsh chemical products to give yourself a gentle, at-home chemical exfoliation. Chemical exfoliation is when a fruit acid or milk acid is applied to the skin which breaks down the substance holding the dead skin cells to your skin, and allows them to be rinsed away. When the exfoliation of the skin is done by either process, a layer of younger skin reveals, this is the smoother skin cells underneath. This smoother skin texture (generally with clearer appearance, and a rosy glow) makes us look younger. The effect is temporary, of course, because our skin is constantly producing new cells, and readying the old ones to slough off.

Ingredients Required:

Papaya

Tomatoes

Orange

Glycerine (Only if Dry Skin)

Prep Time : 10 Minutes

Steps to follow:

Cut the Papaya longitudinally into two halves

Use 1/4th of one half portion, clean and remove the seeds

Cut one medium-size or two small size tomatoes

Put cut tomatoes and papaya in a mixer grinder and squeeze one orange into it, now grind it coarsely,

Strain and extract the smooth paste

Apply it all over your face and neck

Leave it for half an hour or overnight whichever you think suits you the best.

Things to Remember

Prefer to use these in the evening, as Alpha hydroxy acids (Mild and Natural😇though) may make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

Store it in a glass bottle only.

Or you can freeze it in the form of ice cubes too.

Use only Desi or organic fruits and vegetables.

Holi curtains down the winter and celebrates the season of colors - Spring "Vasant" as we call it in India.

In most of the regions, Holi is celebrated just for two days. But when we say Holi Celebration in India is unique, we Indians meant the HOLI FESTIVAL at VRINDAVAN. It is a lifetime experience, one who has not seen and played Holi of Mathura and Vrindavan, have missed the whole zeal behind. Here in Mathura and Vrindavan, Holi is celebrated for 40 Days. Yes, you read it correctly for 40 days, But the main utsav is celebrated for 6 days. In these 6 days celebration, Holi is played with Gulal, Natural colours made by flowers and kesar, Flowers, Wooden Staff and what not.

Holi at Barsana, Near Vrindavan

The famous Holi of lath (thick wooden staff) where ladies of Barsana (a place near Vrindavan) where Radha - beloved of Krishna used to live. Krishna goes there to tease her on Holi, Radha and other gopis (cowherd girls and friends of radha) who were offended by his advances, hurl laths on him to drove him out of Barsana. As such, Nandagonian men visit Barsana every year and are greeted by women hurling sticks (aka lathi) at them. The men try to protect themselves but those who fail are captured by these women who then dress them in female apparel and make them dance in public.

Holi at Banke Bihari Temple, Vrindavan

Holi of Bihari ji is famous far and wide. Everytime I visit Banke Bihari ji I feel the love of Krishna - The God of Love and Eternity. He is adorable. And when we say Holi at Banke Bihari ji, you will certainly feel it pouring from all directions. Holi and it's playfulness was introduced by Lord Krishna and equally divine Goddess Radha and hence by then in Vrindavan Holi starts from Basant Panchmi - after all it is a blooming season. During the festivities, Bihariji (Krishna’s popular name in Braj area) is dressed up in white clothes, the priests here who are serving beloved Lord Krishna are known as Goswamis, sprinkle Gulal (Dried Natural Colours), water colours and keep on showering. Without glasses or Goggles, you won't be able to open your eyes in the premises of the temple, there is Gulal and Gulal everywhere. On this day before Holi, there are special celebrations at the famous Banke Bihari Temple at Vrindavan in the afternoon after the Temple gate opens at about 4 pm. Holi is celebrated not with colour, but with flowers. That is why it is called “Phoolonwaliholi” meaning Holi with flowers. The crowd chants madly in unison. It’s an unbelievable experience, Just feel the energy and atmosphere as you play Holi with Lord Krishna on this day! The temple opens at 9 AM and the festivities go on till 1.30 PM and resume at 4 PM. Get drenched in colours, go with the flow and enjoy the energy and lovely atmosphere.

Holi at Dwarkadhish Temple, Mathura

The temple opens at 10 am and a huge crowd waits outside the gates by then playing Holi and throwing color on anyone who comes there. The atmosphere inside the temple is actually divine. Priests play Dhols and everyone there is singing and dancing. You can also join and enjoy the celebration by being a part of it.

Holi in GOA is literally a thing! Yes, Goa; a land where every festival celebrated has its own striking appeal. The land which in itself is so colorful that you perhaps cannot imagine the spectacles and its aura of a colorful festival like Holi been amalgamated in its colorful processions, the most stunning feasts, loudest of music and dance and without forgetting – it’s vibrant culture. The wonderful sun-kissed golden beaches with lines of swaying palms and mystical blue strands of ocean running in tandem with the warm sands provide a perfect atmosphere for a festival celebration like Holi in Goa. Prominent and best Holi celebrations in Goa are the celebrations at – Panaji, Vasco Da Gama, Margao, and Mapusa.

Holi at Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Holi! at Ahmedabad is unique too. Again inspired from Krishna's childhood act of Stealing Makhan (White Butter) from high hanged Haandi (Earthen Pot) from neighbourhoods. Similarly a pot of buttermilk is hung high over the streets and young boys try to reach it and break it by making human pyramids. The girls try to stop them by throwing coloured water on them to commemorate the pranks of Krishna and the cowherd boys to steal butter and "gopis" while trying to stop the girls. The boy who finally manages to break the pot is crowned the Holi King. Afterwards, the men, who are now very colourful, go out in a large procession to "alert" people of Krishna's possible appearance to steal butter from their homes.

Let's celebrate the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the blossoming of love, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships.

For morning sessions try to reach by 8 am and for afternoon slots 12 pm to 2 pm, typically one can spend 1.5 to 2 hours ...after all it is berry fresh farm.

Once you reach this reservoir after crossing muddy paths and a few villages, you will be surrounded by rocky green hills. Paddling in water is a strict NO-NO. Dandiganahalli Dam is perfect for a short outing. You can swing by and hone your photography/selfie skills (whichever you prefer). The place is also great for spotting colorful birds. Carry your own food and water since there’s not much around here. If you are bringing a picnic basket make sure you don’t litter since there’s no one to clean up after you.

I thought of writing about places to see in Jaipur, believe me, I can not name just a few, this city is a treat to eyes. The whole city has beautiful lamps, roundabouts, totally an awe-worthy city. Have seen many tourist places but this city has great vibes in terms of architecture, culture, art..the amalgamation of the whole is scattered to every nook n corner. There are numerous photo-ready places in this city of Royals, listing some for you reference.

Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal has increased my power of imagination in many folds. Felt like I was once upon a time a playful princess who comes to these jharokhas looking to see life as had to obey the strict rules of "purdah", which forbade me from appearing in public without face coverings. Jokes apart, this was the original intent to build this structure, to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life and festivals celebrated in the street below without being seen. Hawa Mahal was built without a foundation. In fact, it is the tallest building in the world without a foundation. The five-storey building managed to maintain upright because of it is curved shaped. Just another masterpiece of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Hats off to Mr.Lal Chand Ustad who has introduced this design to us in 1799 itself and devoted it to Lord Krishna and therefore the inspiration was drawn from his crown. I can see this place from sunrise to sunset from Cafe Wind View, dipping in different shades and lights, decked up like a new bride all year long, Hawa Mahal is a finest pride.

City Palace

Moving forward from Hawa mahal you will reach to City Palace. It now houses the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, and continues to be the home of the Jaipur royal family. The royal family of Jaipur is said to be the descendants of Lord Rama. There are three entrances or gates of city palace and four smaller gates in the third courtyard which represents seasons The Lotus Gate represents summer, The Mor or Peacock gate depicts Autumn, Lehriya Gate - Spring and Rose gate is as soothing as winters. Their 3D look is magnetic and it is a sheer delight to just look at these gates. The City Palace of Jaipur is an exquisite symbol of Royalty.

Amber Fort or Amer Fort

I just adore this fort. It allured me with its charm. The Palace is divided into six separate but main sections each with its own entry gate and courtyard. The main entry is through the Suraj Pol (Sun Gate) which leads to the first main courtyard. This was the place where armies would hold victory parades with their war bounty on their return from battles, which were also witnessed by the Royal family's women folk through the latticed windows. From Diwan-i-aam to Private Chambers of the maharaja, from Zenana to the frescoes decorated with colored tiles, this beautifully built Fort sums up the remembrance of greatness and supremacy. The Amer fort looks startling when all lit up in the evenings, it is worth a look and exceptionally picturesque.

Nahargarh Fort

A comparatively small fort with 18 Queen chambers 9 for winters and 9 for summers beautifully painted with vegetable paints and mindfully planned as per the seasons. The rooms are linked by corridors and still have some delicate frescoes. Walls extended over the surrounding hills, this fort was constructed as a place of retreat on the summit of the ridge above the city and was also a hunting residence of the Maharajas. Interesting fact about this fort is Amir Khan in Rang de Basanti has taken a dive here in one of its tank which was made for rainwater harvesting. Not only him this fort has seen many shootings of bollywood from late 70s.

Baapu Bazaar

It is not just a marketplace, it symbolizes the pink city in the best way it could. Symmetrical shops with numbers embossed and for sure a paradise for shoppers. By evening the whole marketplace lights, kindle the joy of royalty and serve a feast for your eyes. Shopping is not restricted to single Bazar (Market) in Jaipur, there are famous names here like Soma Shop and Gulabchand- perfect blend of ethnicity and tradition and typical representation of Indian attire.

About Taj Mahal

Stand in the middle of the courtyard see the Taj through and move towards it, you will feel as if Taj is moving away from you, take a few steps back Taj will surely look closer to you, this is because of optical illusion. An octagonal building made on raised marble platform looks indistinguishable from every angle.

At times I think that architecture then was way superior and finer from now. Being 388 years old this mausoleum is standing all white and glowing with pride. Marble used is soft n pure, semi precious stones lost no sheen. How did they manage to bring raw material from Yamen? How did those minute carvings have been first cut so precisely and then pasted inside without being different from each other? Were there any stencils used? Like I can't draw a line straight with or without ruler, and those craftsmen were having such an eye for details, correctness, and accuracy believe me it's incredible. Technology, machines, tools which are now available to us, were not even invented or discovered then, and yet Taj is made that magnificent.

A lot I have read on internet, about the history of this monument, the more I read less fancy I found Taj. Yes!! By saying so I meant- Who made it, when it was commissioned, all this is just a piece of gathered information, when one feels Taj in person they can totally relate to what I am quoting here. One knows that Taj is amongst world's wonders! Well Taj has distinction- It is the fusion of art, culture, human craftsmanship, efforts put in and the logic applied. Stroll Across the Charles Bridge

When we think of what to do in Prague, the first thing that comes to mind is a walk on the Charles Bridge and soak the grace that it offers. So, 663-year-old Charles Bridge is a historic bridge that crosses the river Vltava in Prague. It takes 5-7 minutes to cross this bridge without a stop, but I don't think anyone could have done that, as it has stalled for purchases, buskers, and artists painting, it is a pleasant experience. Walking across this bridge is a must to do thing for the visitors, after all who does not want to fall for the view. Despite of the huge crowd, one can manage to stop by and soak all the goodness. Be it night or day this cobbled storied bridge always bustles with touristy crowd. At day time you can enjoy the views, at night you can get high on the musical atmosphere created by various performances with Prague castle shining bright all lit in the background.

Prague Castle

If the Charles Bridge is the teaser of a movie named Prague, then Castle is the Trailer. This is the largest ancient castle of Europe once the home for bohemian monarchs and emperors now is the official residence of the Czech president and a renowned landmark for the city. In yoga, it is not only the asanas or poses that matter. Before you get into it, you need to get a right set off environment inside out. Here are some pointers that I keep in mind to enhance the benefits of Yoga.

Prerequisites Of Yoga

Practice Yoga before you eat

Yoga is way more than an exercise. It distributes the energy flow by enhancing the human energy system. So it is very much to be done empty stomach. In order to maintain the flow, there should be no intake of solids or fluids of any sort. Ideally, morning is the best time to practice Yoga but if evenings are more sorted than try not to have food 4 hours prior.

After A Shower

No Hot Water Bath please! Always try to shower with normal or lukewarm water. One purpose of bathing is for personal hygiene, But it is also a means of achieving cleanliness by washing away dead skin cells and thus the pores between the skin cells open up and that is important to perform yoga.

For some Asanas or poses, a bolster is nice to have, but for years I have used stacks of chair pads or blankets.

When you practice Yoga you aim to connect within. Any kind of interruption will distract you, therefore either switch off your phone or keep it away from you to focus inward. Keep this time just for yourself!

Poses to Practice at Home

Asanas or poses are the building blocks of Yoga. Move slowly through each pose, remember to breathe as you move. Pause after any Asana if you find it challenging, especially if you are short of breath, start again once you resume breathing normally. I therefore always start with Pranayams and gradually increase the degree of difficulty with Suryanamaskar, it helps me stretch and make movements more fluidic. At any point in time, you are short of breathing go for Balasana or Child's Pose - it is a great default pause position. Focus on stretches and balancing in your initial days. Do not try any position beyond your body limits. Yoga is meant to cleanse the inner self, a bad yoga can do more harm than good. Be cautious with your body and listen to your capabilities.

I suggest practicing only basic positions first, until and unless you gain the momentum and confidence to try challenging asanas.

Stay Safe

This is one tip with no shortcuts. Always watch your boundaries and especially be mindful of your body’s vulnerable areas. Particularly vulnerable areas are knees, hips, spine and neck. If you feel any painful sensations, adjust, soften, come out of the pose if you need to. Don’t force or push.Warm-up your body properly before attempting more advanced poses, and keep checking in, if it feels okay to be in a pose. Be especially mindful during transitions between poses or when moving in or out of poses – these are moments of a potential risk of injury because we tend to pay less attention to our alignment.

Choose Your Style

Yoga is a holistic approach to Wellness. First question you should ask Why am I practicing Yoga? and then What my body and mind need? The more you do Yoga more you will learn about your body, communication will be much clearer then. Understand the needs and choose your style. Make a combination of asanas or positions. Initially, you will enter in denial phase - where you keep on telling yourself that Yoga is not meant for me, it is not showing results, but eventually you surrender more and stop resisting.

How To End

Always relax with śavāsana, Corpse Pose, or Mritasana. It is needed to give your body time to relax. This Asana will help nervous system to assimilate the benefits. Body needs to be calm so that you do not feel overworked.
