A poem for spring

The first day of spring is finally here,
a gift from God that comes every year.
The Robin sings a heavenly tune,
as the daffodils and tulips are beginning to bloom.
The egg stands up in an unusual way,
an event that occurs only at the exact time on this day.
God is the only one to know why this occurs.
God’s message and his memory continue to endure.
To believe that God gave his son to wash away our sin,
to ask for forgiveness and put your total faith in him.
He preformed miracles during his life on earth for all to see,
but the prophecy was fulfilled as Jesus said it would be.
Make a positive change during Lent, this spiritual time of year.
Christ will return relieving you life from fear.
Spring clean your life and be prepared for this day,
ask for forgiveness and pray for those that don’t know the way.

With all the programs that allow you to manipulate photos you can take a bad photo and make it into better one. This was done in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Picasso is also a great and free photo manipulation program that works well especially for blogs. The difference between the 2 programs is they allow you to do different types of manipulation. Setting up photo shoots are good practice and a great way to explore photography. Canvas on Demand places your photo on a canvas creating a work of art for your home of office.

Our family of mans best friends

This is my family of dogs that have brought a lot of happiness to our family for many years. This year we have lost 2 of our family members and this is a post is in memory of them. The 1st and 4th photo is Pompie and she loved us very much. We miss her a lot and want her memory to last forever in this blog. Her love for us was totally unconditional. The second photo is Sammy and he was born to please us. He got cancer in his eye and after surgery we had him for several months before he left this world. I know Sammy and Pompie will meet us in heaven someday as they brought 14 years of joy to our lives. The 3rd photo is Roosevelt and he continues to be an active member of our lives. We love him and he is a big baby. He would not harm a flea. Tye Tye is the 5th photo and she was the mother of all these great kids. She is alive and well other than a little arthritis. She is 16 years old and everyday she is with us we are grateful. After having 4 dogs for 14 years the deaths of Tye Tye's kids within months of each other have made this a very hard year. Our house seems empty. Tye Tye and Roosevelt are still alive and well. When they are gone this white German Shepard chow mix will be gone forever. This post will keep them in our lives and our hearts forever. God Bless Our Amazing Dogs!

Thumbtack is a great site to display your work and possibly get art jobs. As a logo designer, graphic designer, photographer and writer we all look for ways to earn some money. This is a new site I came across in hopes to get hired to do what I love, ART. For now just check out the site and see some of my work. For now just carry your camera as you never know when a photograph can make a great picture to hang on the wall. With all the technology this could easily be made into a print and framed. As a starving artist in these difficult times we all could use some help from other Americans that appreciate art, photography and the beauty of a storm.

This shot took several times to get the sparks in action of the welder. By adjusting shutter speed and a little luck I really enjoyed this challenge. Photography is fun and all I have to say is relax and enjoy whatever your talent is. Whether you think its good or bad is not the point. I like it and that is what is important. I think this is a work of art and beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. Comments welcomed!

Photography is great fun and any subject can be used to practice and learn about adjusting shutter speeds and all the things you can do with your digital camera. Don't be afraid to try anything because you can delete it if you don't like it. That's the great thing about the digital world of camera's. This photo was one of my first attempts using a still 4 by 4 camera while in photography class. This actual shot took several attempts to get just the right negative but learning is exciting and the more you learn about simple adjustments the more useful the camera becomes. Have fun and enjoy as a hobby. You never know when the perfect moment will appear so keep your camera near.

Using Picnic software to manipulate this photo adds some variety to the photograph. These are just free manipulations but you can purchase Premium to have additional options. Just think about how digital cameras have changed the computer world in a short time. What is the next technology that will transform the future of blogging and the internet? Just think there is some youth or adult with the next fascinating invention that will change the world as we know it today. If you noticed I said any age of person could transform the on-line technology. We have only had personal computers since 1985 and there is a generation that currently never has known a world without computers and digital cameras. Where there come a day that when you say DVD that a child will not know what you are talking about. The speed that life is changed by technology is ancient in the blink of an eye. Don't blink or you will miss it!

Sun fading allowing this day to end peacefully

These photos display a peaceful letting go of the day allowing the night to take over without a fight. This reminds me that we should relax and enjoy what is now the past because tomorrow will come. This peaceful surrender shows no chaos or anger to the day and the night will give you time to re-new your energy for tomorrow. Problems of the day melt away into the night and putting your cares and worries into the hands of the one that created everything you will sleep well. This photo is called "Changing Skies" as it says to have faith as tomorrow will come.

The world, moon and Kansas

The moon viewed from where I stood in eastern Kansas which the camera was able to capture my perspective but not the color. The Western Hemisphere viewed the exact same moon from a different perspective according to where they stood at that exact moment. Millions of people shared the same view of the this moon yet there picture would reflect a whole new perspective. By experimenting with photography at night I aim to capture the vivid colors actually I see. Sometimes photos capture odd things not seen by the human eye. Challenge yourself to capture the true artistic colors of God's palette!

These are photographs of plants and flowers from my garden. I take my little Samsung camera wherever I go. You never know when a Kodak moment will appear. Digital Camera's are a great tool for an artist. This also is a video camera which I am experimenting with now. I will be sharing a video of me creating a unique work of art using the video camera to capture the whole experience. Beauty in the eye of the beholder and I hope that you enjoy my work. I want to develop a new group or forum of creative people that have a desire to exchange ideas, create and share. Please let me know if you are interested in helping me start this group. Here are some top of the line camera's to the less expensive ones. At Amazon.com you may be able to find used ones for less. Do not let money hinder you from being creative as it is all worth it in the end.

Photography is a great hobby and today it is easier than ever due to digital camera's can do most of the work. The eye of the the shot is still up to the artist. Fine arts photography is very rewarding and I am going to start practicing taking pictures with the idea of reflections. I cannot wait to show you what I come up with. Take your camera everywhere you go as you never know when you will have the one moment in a lifetime to take a picture that may never come again. The camera this was taken with was a Samsung. I love this camera and have been experimenting with all the things it can do including video's. If you don't have a camera this is a purchase that you will never regret. There is a Kodak moment when you least expect it.
Gaining knowledge and experiment with all the features your camera has can make this into a money making venture if you continue to practice the art of photography. I suggest buying a digital and video camera to add to the opportunity of catching your child's first steps. This would make a great gift for any family member. Creativity is a quality that needs to be nurtured and encouraged by parents, grandparents and teachers. With all the technology the art world has changed the way we create images. Before computers an artist had to use their brains and hands to be creative without making mistakes in the final piece of art.

I remember spending a long time reproducing a set of fonts by hand for use on mock-ups with pencil then applying ink. It taught me how a slight line can make all the difference in the world of the look of a font. A mistake in ink usually required starting all over. Pencils, paint, clay and paper are the way to learn to draw initially.

At an art show of my grandchildren;s work I was elated to see that they used crayons, watercolor and pencils. One project was to re-create a magazine image that was selected by the teacher. Everyone did used the same image. What they produced was works of art each having a unique slant on the image. This was great to see and my grandchildren were proud of what they did with their own two hands.

Computers are a great medium to add to or enhance the original hand-drawn rendering. I want to teach kids to draw by hand as they learn so much more. My grandchildren wanted to use stencils to make a Mother's Day card but watching me draw a picture and write words freestyle made them quickly want to do the same. They were proud of how they drew something just by watching grandma and looking at photos.

The first thing I had them look at was to find shapes in the picture. Looking closely they could see squares, circles and triangles. Computers should be used as a medium but being able to actually hand draw an image helps develop the artistic eye for detail and adds their own individual style. This style and creativity is what makes them unique and also aids in teaching life skills.
