So I've been up since a shy after 5 - Crazy busy this weekend. I've been coding for 5 hours ( which used to be enough to be completely done) but now I have to relearn everything I've ever know apparently.

So hows the rest of the day shaping up - about the same - proposal to finish, 5 brochures to work on, 4 websites, branding materials for 2 companies, and a save-the-date

whooo - an hopefully squeeze in a nap.

Spent the last couple of days in an SEO class from Hippo Internet Marketing Training. I had a friend that couldn't make it and asked me to sit in for her.

Tonight I'm working on a branding proposals. It's going kinda slow so I thought I'd switch gears for a minute. What I should really be doing is working on the Phoenixfire Solutions site. I haven't really gotten around to discussing it with many people, and for some reason I'm having a hard time talking about it - Oh well, I guess it will get a bit easier as it goes. Phoenixfire Solutions - is my Graphic Design and Tech firm, Tech/Design/Web/Consulting to be exact. So what does that all mean - well it means that I am a total solution provider. From the idea phase to the technology behind how it works.

So what happens when you remove the cause from cause marketing - you get a really emotional new way to say buy our crap. Sure there's the few seconds of Susan G and what I assume is Habitat - although I really didn't see any logos. There's the Jackson 5, from back before they were all scary crazy. That's a plus.

It just seems wrong - when you cut away the images, and they are great images, and the music, all your left with is 30 seconds of State Farm saying - we support "stuff", give us your money.

I get all reflective this time of year. I'm not sure if it the sense of running out of time, or taking a little more time for myself that causes it but the last couple of weeks of the year it always occupies my thoughts. So I'm not really a fan of New Years Resolutions, they always have seemed silly to me - I get the whole new beginning thing, but i never really got why that can't just be next today. Here's my Friday resolution - to be better well at everything. I know, seems kinda far fetched, and well frankly I've been battling with myself about whether such a thing was even possible, is a bloated ego type thing to think. In the end I've decided though that its what I'm going to go with. I have so many wonderful things going on, and i just want to make sure that I am pushing myself to make the absolute most out of them.

I will be a better dad, i love that boy more than i could ever explain to anyone and i will in this year make sure that he never has a doubt about it.

I will be a better fiance, I'm not really sure what that means yet but I am head over hills with that girl, and I'm sure their is more than i can do.

I will paint more often, I'm sure their is time somewhere :)

I missed early voting, had plenty of chances to go but I never made. I will however be out bright and early in the morning. In the rain, standing, waiting, as long as it takes to makes sure my vote counts. You must be the change you want to see in the world. Its important and its our responsibility to make this country what it once was. I'm reminded of somethign that Kennedy once said - "Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." I've been thinking quite a bit about what it would take for the US to become the promise land once again, and its not sweeping reform ( those things will come as a result), and its not fixing the economy ( although that has to be done as well), it the ability for one good person to make an difference in the world we live in. Its a simple thing, its helping out your neighbor, it's not looking at his problems and deciding its because of the color of his skin or sexual orientation. It's a smile and thoughtful concern about the well being of all. It can happen if we each hold our selves responsible to the idea of a better world, and demand it. One voice can change the face of everything. One vote can change the world.

Great experience helping out a great cause. I will not be walking in this one - I'll be carrying your luggage, driving trucks, and making sure your taken care of while you walk 50 miles. You can register here. I walked the Challenge Walk in DC a couple of years ago. It is very rewarding. I expect that I'll walk this fall, possibly Philly.

So I won't be around for a few days, I'm heading to DC by train bright and early in the morning to do a charity event for the MS Society, with some friends. The 8 of us will be walking 50 miles this weekend to raise money for MS research. for those of you that don't know i have a good friend that has MS and i wanted to do a little more to help out. so we are leaving first thing tommorw and taking the train to DC to walk this event with 400 other people, finally ending up at the capital sunday afternoon.
