Even though, it was not on purpose of course, because I had a lot going on with the tragedy in Feburary which leads my epipen expiration on that month. Rest assured I gotten my epipen a couple of week ago, and thankfully I have not gotten a reaction in order to use my epipen. Now what I have learned this time is something new not just their look from last years designed. They have a new protocol that they change which frankly gives me a wonder of thoughts in my mind. Now they can sell twin packs only, no more single packs. Since, it seems quietly cheaper instead of buying two just in case which is quite smart and cheaper for people and me of course.

Yet one thing is for sure what I can find scary, that one Epi Pen cannot work. In this case with the twin pack you have two epipens. This can lead to an interesting scenario by what I was told from the pharmacy. One epipen can work though sometimes it can fail and not work which you need to use your other epipen. This was rather not to all shocking at first but made me think of the situations I can go through. What if two epipens did not work hopefully that does not happen but that can rather be death defying and fatal situation which no one wants to go through especially. These epipens are lifesavers for many of us who need it in these situations. As well information of whether or not it is true but since the epipen is now in twin pack it does not have the correct dosage for the single packs that is required but rather less. So it is a rather the same dosage but split into two which is I am guessing they call it the twin pack.

Through these findings by what I was told from the pharmacy may be quite alarming but I will need to gather more evidence if this is really true. This will be in my next post this coming weekend.

Also included in the epipen twin pack is a fake epipen injector to practice on which I will explain in the next blog posts. This was surprisingly new included in the twin pack.

I am a lil late on the blog post but it is better then never, I gotten held up and had a lot going on last week as well these coming weeks but I am putting in the required blog posts hopefully every week of this month! Thank you for supporting!

Allergy Reaction with Photography Chemicals? Their is chemicals that cause sever allergic reactions which are hydroquinone and Metal (monomethyl p-aminophenol sulfate). These chemicals come from the developer when processing your film. I know that I touched the developer more then a few times since, I could not see in the dark room. Bare in mind this indeed was my first time being in it as well a partner for the first time. As well with a cut that I was not aware of until I open the lights. Which I cut myself from opening up the film roll in the darkroom. This increased my chances of getting the allergic reaction of dermatitis. They cause allergic dermatitis by the contact from the skin or wounds. From what I was experiencing from these chemicals first time processing this film, was the reddening burning itching sensation. I had a delayed reaction sometimes it cannot always happen right then and there which I got it during the night from my first post about Allergy Reaction with Photography Chemicals.

Since, narrowed down by research I can be allergic to these two chemicals. However with this reaction I got to still go back and continue. This is college and a requirement to go upper division in my degree, and I have to take the necessary precautions. No matter what you love and enjoy especially during these past two months focusing on my photography and being cautious their is some areas that stop you for awhile which is allergies. I have to wear gloves, and could not go to the darkroom open lab(when class is not in session, your own time) in the first few weeks. I did not want to cause much of a bigger reaction. Their is lab and it is required in class only spent the two the hours every week there even though, when I breathed the burning, stinging sensation into the darkroom it only lasted it quite a few moments when going back there. Yet, going back when I was ready, I did not breathe the burning, stinging sensation, it seemed to go away. My guess could be that I was still with the allergic reaction, that my body was reacting to especially with the air. Mostly I been going to every open lab since, their is filmed to be processed and print. I enjoy being in the darkroom, though it is not stopping me to continue developing film.

One thing to keep in mind when dealing with photography chemcials in the darkroom.
Before and After Tips:

Wear gloves especially if you have a previous reaction.

Possibly old clothes, not your nice clothes do not want to get splashed chemcials on them.

Carry benadryl, if symptoms persist of an allergic reaction.

Everytime I get home, put all your clothes in the laundry, since the smell can pentrate or any chemicals that may have been splashed on.

Also, I go straight to the shower when I get home, gets rid of the smell in the hair and any possible chemicals that you may come in contact with the skin. As well makes you feel clean and fresh when get out of the shower.

Drink plenty of water, replenish your system, from all the chemicals that you come in contact.

Chemicals can be absorbed in the skin when in contact with photography chemicals. (Which is why usually skin contact dermaitis allergy reaction occurs)

What you should use when in contact with the developer is the best affect to get it off is use pH-balanced soap. Anything that you find that has pH-balanced soap which washes it off from the developer chemical contact.

Never eat, drink in the darkroom you do not want to ingest chemicals.

Protect any open cuts.

Contact who is in charge in the dark room if experience with an allergic reaction.

Thank you everyone, for the support. I wanted to keep this blog going every week though with the tragic that happened it just delayed everything by what was being planned. I am coming back on schedule and as planned. Since, not only the blog was delayed but going back to college the next day as well was pretty hard. A shock that I received of a tragedy of three close relatives, from a head on collision from a drunk driver was not the best news to receive on Feb. 06, 2012.

So I thank you, for your patience, and support. I have been going through a lot with life's obstacles, dealing with college, and balancing life overall. However, I am continuing these blog posts, it is just the time and work of how to in coporpoarte everything together which is just coming from one person which is me. So, it does take a lot of work putting it together though overall these past months and years have been coming along nicely. I seen a lot improvement and with the help of fans and readers you are also making it possible. Thank you so much for hanging in!
I appreciate it very much.

Since you probably know by some of you know that I am back in college for the spring semester. An while coming back in college these past two weeks that have gone by fairly quickly. A class of photography, I have enrolled in which deals with black and white film as well dealing with the darkroom. It was the second week of college, in photography lab class we each had a roll of film to practice on how to develop it in the darkroom. Of course you can go in with a partner to keep in track of the time and the other person puts the film in each of these chemical tubes of containers by the time. It is a long process but I am giving you a fair simple information of what is going on. Since i was the person who was in charge of putting the film into the tube of containers I got in contact with the developer chemical at the time. I felt an itch of it of the liquid on me but it did not bother me as much thinking it was normal in my mind and brush it aside. Indeed my mind was to focus of how well the results will be when you finally see the film strip with photos. After the process of the darkroom is done and went to do the last of finishing chemical process. I put the film in the dry room, which is a process for the film to be in this one particular machine that has heat to speed up the process as well not get any particles and dust on the film strip. From then on I went to go wash off the chemicals that had went on my skin. This was a two hour lab but with other students in the dark rooms their is fairly enough room in the dark room it self. Therefore it was more of get it done quick before time runs out of class since, I was the of the last few students to get the feel of how to process your film.

I got my filmed dried and cut the strips where I put them in a sleeve of each one of the strips and I was ready to go home. At night I wake up a few times, and I felt this burning sensation on my skin and itchiness but it did not bother me so much that I went back to sleep since it has been a long day. The next day, I kept scratching my skin and felt this itching sensation all over my body that I could not brush off. My mind was so focused on college I barely put my mind on what was happening to my body. When the day wore on and I was heading back home, my mind at ease and somewhat relaxed. The itching sensation felt right at my skin again, I looked at it and it was red and fairly a lil bit swollen. That is when I needed to focus what was going on then I remembered from the photography chemicals that only splashed part of my skin not the other area that was contacted. I went to the pharmacy got some anti itch to cool down the itching sensation. I was looking for the benadryl cream until I found something new which is benadryl crystal gel. I bought it and went to put on the gel where it was affected. However that did not cease my thoughts because I still had the itching tingling sensation that I felt all over my body. I decided to take benadryl allergy pills which in a couple hours later it settled down that affect.

I later on researched, to my extent that it could have been an allergic reaction. If I am correct that it happens again when I am developing film then there is going to be issues throughout the spring semester since I need to take this class in order further up my Graphic Design degree. The most funny thing about taking this class the professor says that in many of years of teaching she has never come across anyone who has been allergic to the chemicals. I guess I am the first one aren't I?

The next blog post will be about the research I conducted and to see if it is an allergic reaction. Any thoughts, and questions welcomed. Also there is a few that have posted and/or send me message of sharing your thoughts and wanting your voice to be heard to on here. They will be soon in the blog this month! Thank you for your submissions I appreciate it!! It has been hard tough weeks trying to get myself together but I finally made it! Continue to share and submit ideas, messages, that you would like to see or post on the blog. Though its finally in and back in action for good progress since, I was making some changes to the site which caused a lil more time and got behind schedule since was constantly making changes to it. Though it turned out good and there is still more configuration and features to be putting in the next coming months.

Back to the blog,
How will you be coping the winter that is coming up, since, I have been having cold days here and the temperature is lowering down it getting chilly. As well the most time of the year that people will get sick during these times. The climate is changing and ragweed pollen is the most coming about in the Fall months allergies from here and there. Yet, what comes to mind how can we tell from a cold to an allergy cold. Here I will break it down for you.

Usually my best tip, is by the color of the mucus that you can tell if it is a cold or allergy cold. If it is clear mucous then its an allergy cold. An if it yellow mucus its usually a cold. Though sometimes it varies and depends so, it is not always accurate. The mucus of course that comes from can be from coughing up the phlegm and/or blowing from your nose.

Other tips, that I found across from other sources and personal experience:

Since, I had an allergy cold from awhile back during October which had to be during the midterms yet I did alright thankfully though it was not easy. I was developing symptoms before it actually hit me since I have asthma and allergies. I would have my asthma easing me every now and then when I went to school. I would catch the shortness of breath, a little bit of coughing which was not much a bother since it was mild. I just had that emptiness of air inside me coming home. The college of school I go to has a lot of different tress though it is a very nice school to study in there can be some downside which when the allergies come up. I was being affected by the trees and the ragweed pollen that was floating around the college. Then there was the cold that was running about campus hearing the coughing and the sniffling. Yet, students like myself had to go to college because then we would miss important lectures and exams that cannot be made up unless for emergencies. Though, with the cold around and the pollen around I was exposed to then it had finally hit me.

Coming home, from college I felt some what miserable and kept sneezing every now and then. Then the next day I developed a small sore throat which I immediately treat myself from getting worse by doing the salt and warm water to gargle with. As well getting tea with lemon and honey to not have such and impact. Decided to take the an histamine of Zyrtec which eased down my sore throat and sneezing. The next few days after that, I was miserable, even though I did not felt like I wanted to do anything I had to keep going and get myself better. Since, I had to be exposed by college it made it worse coming home. I felt miserable I kept coughing, sneezing, my eyes were watery, my nose was stuffy and my face hurt. With my face hurting meant that I had sinuses as well. All these symptoms, I had the humidifier, an histamine and tea. Also with rest which made me get better much quicker. It was a few days of the cold allergy but after getting over it I developed losing my voice every now and then. Yet, it was diminishing.

What I did. May be different from what you do. Though these are tips that can help.
~I taken the Zyrtec for almost nearly a week.
~Having the humidifier for 3 days only.
~Gargle salt and warm water mix together in the mornings
~Drinking Tea in morning and night for a few days (Always include honey helps soothe your symptoms)
~Taking the prescribed Nasal spray for allergies and easing down my sinuses which I take every time I go to college since I do not want to progress my symptoms again.
~As well my prescribed inhaler for my asthma taken by what the prescription says
~Include water in drinking liquids it really does help your best liquid to drain out whats in your system
~Also rest rest rest for a speedy recovery

What do you do when you hit allergies or cold allergy?

Update for November & Allergy Free Thanksgiving Recipes

http://anaphylaxisblog.weebly.com/blog/update-for-november-allergy-free-thanksgiving-recipes

http://anaphylaxisblog.weebly.com/blog/update-for-november-allergy-free-thanksgiving-recipes#comments

blog updates

Hey everyone, I hope everyone had a good safe Halloween. I decided to put up once a month of blog entry's to give everybody an idea of what is going on. Since, on the topic of some safety tips here is some tips that I came across from these articles.

Careful what you eat and do not forget to read your labels which are the most important thing. Now there is one ways that allergies can be trigger by decorations. No? How can that be? Well it can certainly can depending on the decorations that you put up on your patio, apartments, or house. Pumpkins may give an allergy stir which can associate by the mold build up from the moisture from the pumpkins. As well other decorations that are on display can collect dust and of course pumpkins too can collect it. Preventing the build up and collecting dust is just keep it clean and check on your decorations once in awhile which can lead to a good benefit.

What else can be collected besides dust, your old costumes can be collected by dust mites or whatever is sitting around the house. Yes, your old costumes can collect dust from being only used for the month of October even though their is some who just use it once a year on day of Halloween. Since, some use it for parties and what other events that go on during the October month.

Want to avoid an allergy attack but still want to go trick o treating by going door to door. Just keep it at a minimum area around the neighborhood. By letting your neighbors know about the allergy of you and/or with you that be trick o treating that night. It is helpful and your neighbors can have a special bag for them when knocking on their door for some good allergy safe free candy. It will require some little effort to tell about it but in the end it be worth your time to take in considering.

What do you do for Halloween?

Check blog post from the past!
Blog posts from Anaphylaxis blog!
Happy Halloween! The smell was so familiar but seem to be much more then just an ordinary smell. This smell had a smokey smell that dread in the air which can be seen from the outside. The smoke and the darkness left the distinct and mark in the sky which filled the neighborhood. Not only have I was out of the house, there was neighbors seemed to notice the dark foul smoke. It was leading to much concern and curiosity of where has it come from. The wind was blowing in all directions which lead to confused state of mind to where the smoke was originally located at. Minutes later there was the sound of the sirens of what was widely known by the firetrucks and knowing where the direction it took course. This lead to some relief because help has arrived and can go back to our daily tasks. However, this lead to an uprising of a trigger. I felt the needed to have cleaner air by the surrounding smoke still in the air. The windows and the doors needed to be closed and there was still the pungent smell there. Turning on the air conditioner to circulate the air. Yet, however I developed the feeling of tightness and burning sensation around my chest cavity. I felt as if my lungs were burning by breathing in the from the smoke that was there. My heart and breathing was abnormal which was leading to a trigger to my asthma. Eventually, I had my inhaler in handy and took it which eventually my symptoms had subsided.

What can be learned?
This experience can lead to similar situations like an attack of any sort can be allergy trigger as well. There are many attacks and triggers that can happen which we need to be careful out there. Even though we may not think it can happen to you it can. However if you do come across a situation, at least be prepared for it and have whatever that is needed to treat it.

Thank you!I am currently working on and processing upcoming blogs to keep the site going. I have a lot to give and there is a lot of projects going on for this site. It is challenging but in the end I cannot wait to release them.

Don't Know When It Hits You

http://anaphylaxisblog.weebly.com/blog/dont-know-when-it-hits-you

http://anaphylaxisblog.weebly.com/blog/dont-know-when-it-hits-you#comments

food allergies

misdiagnosis

share blog stories

true story

watch out

Hey everyone,This weekend I am going to share an a mini story experience. Since, allergies can be genetic which I will go more in depth in the next upcoming blogs. There are some families that can pass down of what they are allergic to which for instance, peanuts.

In this mini story, a person can have a family member that is allergic to soy where their son or daughter can have that allergic reaction. However, if the son or daughter comes in contact with this allergy of soy in one of the products. It can create an allergic reaction or something else can be triggered which can lead to an anxiety attack. There is some cases that have happened where it leads to misdiagnosis since, there are symptoms that can be similar to the reaction of the substance.

An example from an experience:
I have experienced this myself, since one of my parents are allergic to soy. Yet, a couple weeks ago, I came across an unknown new product of a candy bar. Not seeing the ingredients which was hidden and needed a snack. I grabbed the candy bar, and with a first bite from it within minutes it lead to a reaction. The reaction I got immediately was feeling funny and somewhat lead to an almost an up rise of a panic attack. However, I took benadryl which eased me down since it kept me calm by the drowsiness. Though, I did not think about it and proceeded to be calm afterwards. The next day, I was all right. Even though bendryl is an histamine, I took it for my benefit in case that I may progress allergy symptoms. Which I will not know if I was allergic to it. This reaction, I went through led to a trigger but it did not trigger an allergic reaction since I did not get allergic reaction.

What can you learn from it:
Always be aware from your experiences, and know your symptoms as well your family history. It can help and be a great benefit for you. As well talk to your doctor about it which also is a good resource to seek out medical advice. I advise to keep a diary or journal handy for your symptoms because it is not always can be an allergic reaction which it can be something else.

Thank you for your support! I have more to come as well!
I have received an e-mail which will be posted up in the upcoming blog! I thank you!
