/>Officially, Anatomy I is here. Since the pre-release, there have been some changes and tweaks that have been made to the overall publication, but still it is very much the same in its final form. Since plenty of you have already subscribed, I'm not going to fill you in again on what is in the magazine. Fact is, you've probably already seen it. But I would like to take this time aside to let you know that I have switched over the subscription model from RSS to strictly Opt-In email.

RSS has provided far too many problems for subscription management and was initially intended to be used as a placeholder until we found a much more reliable alternative. Opt-In email is the permanent model we are going to be working with in terms of distribution. With that being said, I would like to notify you that I am shifting the subscription model over and if you all are still interested in getting special deals, perks and future issues, I invite you to re-submit your information into the new system. In your confirmation email, you will receive a link to the final version of Anatomy I instantly. It only takes about a minute... Due to this service change, I will be removing the current method of subscription that you are recieving this post on, so don't get left in the dark!

Please feel free to use this link below:
http://foryourenrichment.us1.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=944263cc5ed2ef98dccc49660&id=cec84166f6

Or feel free to visit the Anatomy website and click on the magazine cover in the sidebar to get the job done.

Happy New Year!
-Cliff
Below is the link to download your copy of anatomy magazine, be sure to

I have changed the host for the magazine and now everything is corrected. Same rules apply. Simply look for the link to the download in the post footer and you're good to go! Also, in the contents page you get the promotional code for 20% off with Karmaloop.

Please do not reproduce the direct link to the download. Instead link to the Anatomy Magazine subscription page, or the webpage if you would like to blog it. but yeah, if you just click on the link you will be able to download the magazine in digital form much easier. For those of you that did not get to download the magazine today or yesterday, I apologize. However, now everything is corrected.

Best,
-Cliff
Below is the link to download your copy of anatomy magazine, be sure to

This period of time has been a defining one: a test of strength, endurance and I suppose you could maybe even say perseverance. But it has definitely been one of devotion. Anatomy Magazine, once a mere thought of mine floating around in the ether, has finally come to fruition.

The preparation that has gone into this project is immense. Between a constant 300+ some odd days of blogging paired with executive pitches, business plans, concepts, layouts, networking and plenty of other duties, this path as been a difficult one at times: full of distraction and uncertainty. But I am a lucky man to feel built for this undertaking. I am appreciative that many of the experiences I have been fortunate to have such as formal training in art, photography, graphic design and web development have all knit together into one tight and efficient package. I am glad to see that I did not quit when times were tough, that I have made great friends and that I have built great relationships on the way. It pleases me to see that the evenings when I have burned the midnight oil, listening to music, taking cigarette breaks and looking into the darkness from my porch in Durham, that everything, all of the work put in has really come to “this.”

Read More After The Jump

Before reading this magazine, before opening this book, I would like for you to know that this piece of work has a little bit of my self and my staff within every page. This piece is the culmination of long conversations on the phone with mom and dad, this piece is defined by the rejection I experienced by brands and investors alike and this piece is late nights blogging endlessly about products and brands and culture. It would not be defined without the intensity, the struggle and the constant stress of dreaming big. This, of course, is with me simultaneously understanding that these dreams, like all grandiose swevens, could be my ultimate undoing. Anatomy Magazine would not be defined if artists such as Jay-Z, Mick Boogie, Lil’ Wayne, MGMT, Yeasayer, Justice, MSTRKRFT and the like did not create produce harmonies that synced in perfectly with the wind, the rain, the snow, the heat, the stress, the pain, the motivation, happiness, joy and excitement that has pushed this magazine away from being a mere thought, to being another small piece in this universe. Thus, this publication has developed a character that cannot be read on a page or seen in a picture. It is read in between the lines of every story. But most importantly, this cluster of imagery and words would not be defined if it’s existence was not threatened… If it was just, say, too easy: if my staff and I were older, if we had unlimited resources, if the prospect of failure was not waiting in the wings.

We should have failed. We should have died, perhaps, on the side of the road on our way to the first issue. But we did not. The eighteen or so individuals on the masthead you may have so graciously skipped over while flipping through, helped deliver this publication to you the way doctors do children. Like children will crawl, develop it’s legs, walk, and one day run. This child will hopefully lead a healthy life, grow up and do great things. But now, however, consider your eyes on this page as this child’s christening.

Like all great things, the assembly of the staff you have seen in previous pages came together on a dark and stormy night at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Most who have worked on this publication, are all students at this university. The places you see are the theaters of creativity that surround us. For brands, the clothing that you sent us have been stored in our dormitories. We check out meeting places in the union to assemble. We work on our stories and pictures using university resources. No, we do not have an office space, but we are proud of where we are and by extension, where we come from and perhaps even, everywhere we can possibly go.

Now that we are here, now that our existence is known to you, we challenge you the way others have challenge us. I challenge you the way others have challenged me. I challenge you to be moved. I challenge you to create. I challenge you to dream. If you take nothing from what I have said, then pay notice to our age. Pay notice to our potential. If you can see everything that we are capable of being, then I implore you to take notice of everything you can become… and that it is never too early, or too late, to take a chance and fly into the sun. It may be, after all, that to reach the apotheosis of ourselves we must be taxed for everything we have … This is ok.

Now I leave you with this magazine. The publication before you covers myriad stories. Some that have inspired the readers, others that repulse and the few that have defined us. No, it is not perfect. Yes, there is improvement that must be done for the near future. However, you would not be reading it if I was ashamed of the product we deliver to you with pride. I hope you open this magazine with an open mind, I hope you close this publication inspired… or at least, entertained. Now, without further adieu, I present to you, Anatomy I.

Below is the link to download your copy of anatomy magazine, be sure to

I am proud to say, no. No offense to my boy josh, of course, but between then and now huge things have been popping off. Last week, Anatomy Magazine had the honor and privilege to have Virginia's own "The Clipse" for an interview which will be our cover story. Yes, you heard it right people, The Clipse is our cover story. With that being said, this is the official cover of Anatomy I:
Stories included in this issue will be with Rebel 8 President, Joshy P. Larry Luc with PROCESS from ATL, an interview with Daniel Johnston, Brother Ali and A-Track, and two excellent fashion spreads featuring looks from brands including T.I.T.S., OBEY and Apliiq.

For those of you unfamiliar with The Clipse, here is a little bit of reference for you to work with:

The Clipse - Grindin'

Baby feat.
