Anderson University administrative offices will be closed to observe the Christmas holiday beginning Wednesday, December 23, at 5 p.m. and will re-open on Monday, January 4, at 8 a.m. Campus security officers will maintain normal hours during the extended holiday.
The beginning of the new school year not only brings new students to campus but also new staff to the Anderson University community. This year, AU welcomed many new staff members in the Department of Student Life.

The Department of Communication and Design Arts at Anderson University will host the opening of the Fall Senior Exhibition on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, from 3-5 p.m. in the Jessie C. Wilson Galleries, located above the Krannert Fine Arts Building Breezeway. The event is free and open to the public, and the exhibit will run Nov. 14-Dec. 17, with gallery talks by participating artists on Nov. 16 from 6 to 7 p.m.
The Anderson University School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will present the annual “Candles and Carols” Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in Reardon Auditorium. Celebrating the 51st performance, the annual “Candles and Carols” Christmas program revives many memories for those who attend each year.
Anderson University welcomes new professors who will teach using their real-world experience in the classroom. Among the new professors are a multimedia designer, a graphic designer, and an engineer.

According to Wei-Huan Chen, The Indianapolis Star's arts reporter, the reduction of arts coverage nationwide has prompted organizations to take interest in young journalists’ careers. As of this year, The Indianapolis Star has taken action by initiating an Arts Journalism Fellowship to five beginning journalists.
Each year, Anderson University welcomes new faculty and staff members onto its campus. This year, AU hired Jeff Siemon, electronic resources librarian, and Anna Epperly, assistant professor of special education.

Sometimes the halls of Anderson University become so familiar that students and faculty alike can forget the exciting features that are hiding everywhere. Take Nicholson Library, for example—one of the greatest collections of rare children’s literature remains on display on the first floor in a climate-controlled reading room, just waiting for someone to show it off.
In the School of Nursing, Kinesiology, and Behavioral Science, Anderson University has hired two faculty. Professor Denna Thompson, an instructor in nursing, and Professor Chris Hamlyn, assistant professor in athletic training, have been a part of the Anderson University family for two or more years as adjunct instructors.
Cole Heberling, a four-year Anderson University baseball standout and 2015 graduate, was presented the 14th Annual Carl D. Erskine Award of Excellence at the Anderson Rotary Club Tuesday.
The award, named after the former major league baseball star and Anderson icon, embodies the qualities displayed by its namesake – teamwork, competitive spirit, fair play and excellence.
