The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) is hosting all candidates for Anderson County Commission District 3 for a discussion of issues, and a question & answer session with department members at Station No. 1 in Andersonville at 7 p.m. Monday, July 26.

AVFD’s monthly business meeting for July will be 7 p.m., Thursday, July 1, although all members are encouraged to arrive at 6 p.m. for individual photographs for use on the department’s website. Members should wear appropriate department shirts. (Officers should wear white shirts with insignia.)

2nd Annual Kids Firefighter Camp June 7-11

The Second Annual Kids Firefighter Camp, hosted by the Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) and supported by 16 other private and public entities, kicked off Monday, June 7 at the department’s Station #1 adjacent to Andersonville Elementary School.

Structure Fire on Park Lane

The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 22:12 to a residential structure at 1103 Park Lane.

The first units on scene at 22:25 reported the structure was fully involved.

The Clinton Fire Department provided mutual aid with a tanker and man power support. A total of 18 firefighters and support personnel were on scene fighting the fire.

Anderson County EMS celebration and Community CPR classes

We wanted to take the opportunity to inform each of you about two
upcoming events for the ambulance service.

On May 15th from 10am till 2pm we are having an EMS celebration to
kick off National EMS week. We are partnering with the county first
responder agencies to have a fun day where residents can come and see

The May Business meeting will be Monday (Tomorrow night) at 7pm. There are many important issues to be discussed so please make plans to be there. Also, if you volunteered for the Kids Camp committee, we will meet briefly directly after the Business meeting.
