Andie has some wonderful Christmas Card designs in the store just in time for those early Christmas sessions.  I love that the cards are so versatile… not only can they be Christmas Cards but many can also be utilized for any event of your choice.  I took one of the “Let it Snow” cards and duplicated the bottom design layer and moved it to the top (to match my photo better), changed the color of the bird (again, to match my photo…) and now not only do I have a Christmas template but a birthday party invite as well.

New products are exciting and fun, but don’t forget about classic products when you’re looking for inspiration. Remember, when you purchase something from ASD, it’s yours to keep! Unlike paper and glue consumables, these can be used over and over.

For this project, I wanted something simple and sweet to showcase this little cutie, and the Dirty Mask 2 and the Love (landscape) Mask were perfect solutions. I simply cropped my photo to the size of the Love landscape and resized the Dirty Mask to the same size. I layered the Dirty Mask with the photo, flattened, and layered to the Love Mask. I added a bit of Gradient Color to help the words pop a bit, and I was done!

I am not a professional photographer but I love photography.  I epecially love to take pictuers of my little boy. You don’t need to be a professional to enhance your photos. I am a sucker for signs. All sorts of signs. I wanted a way to display a few together to save on space. I used Storyboard: 20×10 Grunge to display three of my sign photos at once.

Now I have more space on my walls for more photos! Gotta love storyboards!

Last week reminded me once again of how important photographs are.

After 14 wonderful years, we had to make the tough decision to put our beloved labrador, Olive, to sleep. These photos were taken about 30 minutes before we took her to the vet’s office. It was a sad day.

However, I’m so glad that I got photos with Olive and our family before she left us. This is one of my favorites. Eventually I’m going to create a storyboard of three pics that we took before we left, but right now I’m debating on going with the natural color, or with Andie’s Work-It presets.

Here is the shot again, using Andie’s Hypnotic Lightroom preset and sharpened a bit:

And this is probably my favorite, mainly because it really brings out my husband’s gorgeous blue-green eyes. This shot uses Andie’s Smurfed, Dream Date-On, and Vignettes – More Bright presets, followed by a bit of sharpening. I don’t know how well it translates on your computer screen from the website, but my image in Lightroom (and consequently in print) is really great!

We really miss our special girl, but thank goodness for the photographs.

p.s….. I’m not a wedding photographer, but I am shooting a wedding in the hills of beautiful southern Kentucky this weekend. I can’t wait to “work it” with Andie’s presets when I get home. I can almost taste the vintage feel!
