2nd day of internship

Today, my first department is kitchen. I go to office to get my schedule. I get pastry for my first week, followed by spice market and ferringgi grill kitchen. I go to pastry kitchen at 10am and start to help task like what I did yesterday. Wrapping the christmas tree cookies for the christmas celebration. Make friend with few colleagues from east malaysia. But cant really remember their name. What ashame!! Chit chatting with them. In the middle, chef ask me to go eat doughnut. Continur my task and 1pm go for lunch. After lunch, i go back to kitchen and make almond cookies until 5pm. Have to prepare 300 big cookies. After 5, chef allow me to go back early.

1st day of internship

We just get our schedule for today. The training manager so nice here. We are allowed to choose which department we wanted to go. So I got kitchen, front office, recreation n sales and marketing. I dont bring kitchen boots to hotel so i cant really help in the kitchen. The chef ask me to help around while waiting for 2am for Food Safety tuition. I went to pastry helping them to wrap cooking for christmas celebration. Afterward, goes for the tuition. It ends at 7pm. Continue to eat dinner at cafetaria and goes back home.

2nd day of orientation

2nd day, it starts a little bit late. Today, it starts at 9.30am. We are there on time. Having session until 2 and have our lunch break. Today, menu is difference. Got spaghetti. Afterward, we have lesson about the firedrill. It is so bored. On top of it, the presenter shows us the process of fire evacuation 20mins video. Totally, fall asleep. But luckily at the end, we have the try out of using the fire extinguisher. Haha. First time using it in my life. Then, we have tour around the hotel. Wonderful, room is very beautiful and i like the seaview. They have this room, outside have balcony and inside the balcony, have a bathtub where you can enjoy the view of sea. We also go to see the CHI spa. The session ended with the quiz. So, that's all for 2nd day of internship. Tomorrow, I will be starting the real working

1st day of Orientation

Today is the first day of orientation. Wake up early in the morning, take bath and have my breakfast. Ready and depart to hotel. We are all waiting outside the staff entrance because we arrived earlier. Suddenly there is one guy come and smile to me. He is wearing a tshirt, loose jeans, sneaker with messy hair. So, its already 9am and HR department already opened. So we going in. Afterward, the staff asked us to wait inside the room. Suddenly, it is so coincidence, the guy who smile to me is my supervisor. Haha.

On that day, we just learnt nothing much. Most of it, Ihad it before in STEP class. Lunch time, I go to cafetaria to have my lunch. It is like back to college life in the west country where you have to queue to get your food. Food isnt bad. They have chicken, fish, dimsum, salad and free flow drink. Oh, 1 more is their delicious patisserie. After lunch, continue for the orientation until 5.30 and go back home. End of 1st day of orientation

Vera sweet 21st birthday surprise.

It was my buddy 21st birthday. We planned it since 6 months ago to actually surprise her at Singapore. We bought the flight ticket. For me is from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore but still got other friend from Jakarta, Medan and China. So, all of us going to meet up at Singapore and surprise her. So on the day of her birthday, we all arrived at Changi airport early in the morning and right away took MRT to her house which was so far away from the airport.

We asked other friends who studied in Singapore to get the cake so we didnt need to go and get it again. When we arrived her home, her sister opened the door for us to get in. She was taking bath at that time. We went inside her room and waiting there. It took so long for her to take bath. Suddenly, bath was over. We were hiding inside the room with camera ON and her boyfriend was holding the cake with the candles ON. Once, she got in, we sang a song and she was surprised. She ran back to the toilet and cried. She was crying inside, complaining why we flew the whole way from different country to Singapore without telling her. Hahaha. YES, the surprise worked out. It took around 10mins to calm her down, haha. Finally she came out, we sang a song and she blew the candles.

After done, we relaxed for a while then she changed clothes. Afterward, we went to have lunch at Bak Kut Teh, then went to Curtin university to submit her assignment and went to Orchard Road. We have our dinner there at Takashimaya. Ate a lot of finger foods and it made me full. Miss the bacon cheese sausage.

The next day, we went to Marina Bay Sands. I and my friend went for casino since we already passed 21 years old and allowed to go in. Some of them werent allowed. So, they waited for us outside. We went in. It was huge. I didnt play much. Scared to lose. Haha. At the end, I only won 10 dollars. After from here, we went to VIVO city to meet other friends and afterward back to orchard road to have dinner. This time dinner at Wisma Atria, food republic, it was awesome. I was having my favourite dishes Rojak and Laksa. MISS it so much !!!

It comes to the day that we have to say goodbye. It was Sunday and all of us were having class on the next day. Unfortunately, I was also having exam on Monday. My flight was 2pm in the afternoon. Flew back to KL and reached there around 3-ish. My friend had to catch the flight to Medan and China but their flights were at night. So, I accompanied them at the airport until 7 and then I went back home. It was a short trip but yet I was having a lot of fun.

It is really hard to find article related to my topic which is "Prevention of sneak-in guest in hotel". Lecture said it was interesting but it could be quite difficult and now im suffering looking around for the article. Cant really find it. I am probably going to change to another topic.

Last day of Raya holiday

Holiday comes to the end. It's over. No more holiday until end of semester. Today, i dont really do a lot of things to enjoy my last day of holiday. I have been watching series 24 season 7 for a day. I started yesterday at 2pm and finished just now at 4 the whole 24 episodes. This series make u addicted as the case cant be resolved. It always lead to some other case. After finished the season, i I took bath and went to buy some groceries at Empire shopping gallery, 10mins walking distance. I like doing groceries. There are always a lot of things to buy. Anything. I always spend a lot of money in buying groceries. Afterward, walked back home again. Nothing much to do. Now, Im at home and nothing to do besides typing this blog. HAHA. Later on, going to have dinner which i havent decided yet. Maybe just gonna cook at home. Then, watch 1 movie and off to bed. Have to sleep earlier today because tomorrow I have 8 oclock class. Im scared that I cant wake up. This whole week, I have been awake only after 12. So, hope tomorrow I can wake up early in the morning. ADIOS.

Penang trip

I was having HOLIDAY ( always waiting for that word) for a week. Hari Raya break. I and my classmates were going Penang for this short trip. We were staying in Vistana apartment for 2 nights. It was a nice apartment, affordable yet clean. We departed early 5am in the morning. There were 6 of us. So, we drove 2 cars which my friend CS and New were driving. We stopped by at IPOH and had dimsum for our breakfast. Afterward, continued the journey to Penang. Reaching Penang around 10am. We stopped by at my friend's aunt home. We went to have lunch and went to see apartment that we were about to rent during the 3 months internship in November. The apartment wasnt that bad but the other one that we saw, was terrible. We also went to Shangri-la Rasa Sayang and Golden Sands resort to have a look which are the resorts that we going to have our internship. At night, we had our dinner at seafood restaurant by the sea. The next day, we went to Hard Rock hotel at Batu Ferringhi, took pictures there and walked around the beach. It wasnt a perfect weather. It has been raining in Penang for few days continuously. From Batu Ferringhi, we moved on to Toycity. Entrance is Rm10 for Malaysian but for foreigner is Rm20. But they didn't check whether we are foreigner or not. So we just paid the same as local people. Just a while in there, then we drove back towards apartment and took nap since everyone was so tired. We took nap for few hours and went to have dinner at food hawker @Gurney . The food hawker store was so crowded but the food there was nice. After dinner, we went to this hospital theme restaurant called Clinic Cafe at Gurney shopping centre. Just went there to try out and have a drink. haha. The next day, we woke up late, packed our luggage and checked out from hotel. Went to have lunch and afterward, went to Botanical garden. Suddenly plan changed, they wanted to extend another night in Penang because the driver were so tired to drive the whole way back to Kuala Lumpur. So, we stayed 1 more night. The apartment that we stayed were already full so we have to stay back at CS, aunt house. The next day, early in the morning, we headed back to Kuala Lumpur.

Nadia, good friend in college, was coming to Malaysia for holiday. It was a short trip only for her. I finally met her at Bangsar. We went to eat together with Yashar as well at this restaurant called Ben's General Food Store. Most of the dishes are pizzas. Pizza is so Yummy esp the IL Carnivore. This pizza is full of meat: chicken, beef, turkey and lamb. Delicioso. We weren't plan to eat here. Just we arrived already at Bangsar and we passed by this restaurant which none of us tried before. So we saw a lot of people were there, so we just bumped in. Bad thing about this restaurant was just sometime we have to share table with others because mainly the tables here are long table. It's only 3 of us and we ordered 2 pizzas and salad. The patisseries look delicious as well but our stomach couldn't fit anymore. So, we didn't order it. Dinner, chit chat until around 9pm. Afterward, we headed back home.

Always having a good time when old friends having some gathering. Yesterday, I went to shopping center near my place to watch the "rise of the planet of the apes" . Erm..... It just a typical movie, not wow.

Ok, lets rewind the time to noon. I went to hospital to see my friend's mom. Been there for a while then I went to Bangsar to look for food. It's 3pm already and I could hear the sound from my stomach. So, we walked around the street and we bumped in to this Spanish restaurant which none of us tried before. The restaurant called "EL Meson". I ordered the "Carrillera de Ilberico Estofada" which is Spanish pork. It was DELICIOSO. After finishing our lunch, we went to watch movie.

Finished movie, it's just 7pm so we have to wait until 7.30 because it's fasting month. So, mostly there are a lot of traffic congestion before 7.30. So, we walked around and suddenly I met Yashar. My gang member in college. what a surprise ? He was having part time job in sunway area. So, we just chatted for a while then afterward I went back already. It was so nice to meet an old friend. haha.

Samosir Escapade

Hi, fellow readers. Time passes so fast. Last post was April and now, it's June already.

I was having semester break holiday for a month. A MONTH, it's extremely not enough. I went to Singapore again for a week. Heading back to Medan, and few days later, I was having my short trip vacation to Samosir Island. 4 hours driving from Medan and take ferry to cross over to the island. This trip was awesome. WHY ??? It wasn't plan out. When I was at Singapore, I hang out with my hometown friend who was studying in there and I just randomly said we should go out to island or highland when we back. Then we told our friend that was in my hometown. Suddenly, few days later, he text me said that we will be going on the weekend and hotel and transportation were confirmed. I was so excited. I like travelling.

So on that day, we were leaving at 7 pm. We went to airport picked up one of my friend that just arrived from Singapore then headed straight away to Lake Toba. The ordinary road that we usually have to pass was jam so we took another way which we never pass before. Wanna know what's happening ?? The road was surrounded by forest with no light at all. The only light was coming from the car. Freaking Scary. We were just chatted the whole way. Finally, we arrived Lake Toba around 12 and we stayed 1 night in there because there is no ferry to cross over in the middle of the night. The next morning, we went to the harbor and cross over. We arrived samosir island around 2. We went to have lunch in one cafe. I was so surprised. There are a lot of Caucasians here. I thought there are none in my hometown. Less seeing them in the city. After having lunch, we went for cycling around the island. Having so much fun yet my legs pain. It's been long time, I haven't ride a bicycle. Around 6, we heading back hotel and took rest. Having dinner at pizza store and back to hotel. We sat at the hut at poolside chatting until late night. The next day, we heading back to Medan.

APRIL

A lot of things were happening on April up till now. Finally moving to my new rented house. I had been waiting for a month to move in but it wasn't ready yet. But now, It's OK already. Just need to move in few stuffs and furnitures that have been entrusted in my friend's house.

My best friend was coming back to Malaysia last week to settle his documents at university. He just came for a week. So, everyday, went out from home going to shop, walked around. 1 weeks seem to pass so quickly. Without realizing it, it almost coming to the time that he needed to go back. Last day, we went to Malacca and Port Dickson. We just went to Malacca to eat. We departed around 3pm and arrived around 5. Straight away headed to restaurant and ate the Chicken Rice Ball. Afterward, we just walked along the Jonker street. We were looking for the fried ice cream the whole Jonker street but couldnt find it. We were craving for it since the last time we ate was last year in here. Finally, when on the way back, we found it. After eating,we headed to Port Dickson and will be staying there for a night in one of our friend's house. The next day, headed back to KL. Arrived home around 6, straight away jumped to bed and slept like a pig. Woke up around 8 and felt bored. So, we went to watch movie.

The next day, we sent him back to the airport.

Sudden trip to Genting

It was sudden decision. Remembered my previous story about the dining at The Apartment. The next day, we supposed to go to Cameron Highland because my friend who was studying in architecture had to go site visit to their project. However, one of their group member couldnt wake up so the plan was cancelled but all of us were awake already. So, we decided to go eat Pork Noodle together. Afterward, just suddenly came in mind to go to Genting Highland since all of us didnt have a lot of assignments yet. We left around 3pm since Julia had to fetch his brother from the airport at 1pm. So we waited her until arrived home then we left. Straight away heading there. Arriving there around 4 something. Walked around, took pictures, chit chatting, and eating. At night, we went inside the theme park. They had firework on that day.

Alvin is a pianist. So, while we were waiting for Julia to come back home. We went to his house and he played piano for us.

We were not allowed to take picture using the doll at the head. It was forbidden. However, we didnt notice the camera sign there. So, we took it and took the picture. Until there was one lady coming toward us and showed us the camera sign.

Birthday dining at The Apartment

After the birthday celebration held by my friend at MOS. The next day, we went to eat together at The Apartment at KLCC. It's a casual dining restaurant. Food and environments are so nice here. We went for our dinner here. Before going, I already made a reservation in the afternoon. It was on Saturday night so Im scared it's gonna be full. So, for precaution, I called to make a reservation. We were eating, chatting until the restaurant closed. After dining, straight away heading back to sunway. Supposed to go Karaoke but everyone was lazy so it ended up stopping at Boston, chatting for a while then going back home cause the next day, we were supposed to go Cameron Highland. One of my friend who studying architecture had to do site visit going there. So, basically I was following them but the next day, it turned out that they group's member didnt wake up. So, plan cancelled. A sudden decision suddenly popped up in mind to go to Genting Highland. Story coming soon !!

Pangkor Island

It was a sudden decision to go to this island. We plan it a week before. 7 of us were going namely me, Julia, Vicentia, Alvin, Selly, Christin and Indra. None of us been here before. We just heard that this island isnt bad so we going to try it out. We were going on Friday at night taking the 9 oclock bus. I knew it was so late but no other choice since we still had class of Friday. We haven't bought the bus ticket for that day yet. We went to look for the bus station in KL and we were lost. At last, we found the place and fortunately, still got the ticket. We departed at 9.30. Arrived in there around 2am in the morning. The journey took around 4 hours from KL to Lumut. The next day, we checked out earlier and went to the jetty to take ferry across to Pangkor island. We arrived Pangkor around 1 and checked in to the hotel. This is the worse, the hotel didnt allow us to stay more than 2 people in one room so we had to rent for another 2 more rooms. NVM, just forget the worse, keep it behind. The important is we are going to have fun. After checked in, we straight away headed to the beach. We played water sport: snorkeling, riding banana boat, jet ski. At night, we went to have our dinner at Daddy's cafe. It located on the beach. So, we were having our dinner on the beach which we could hear the flow of the water. Awesome. The food there were so nice. The seafood was so fresh esp the Tiger Prawn. We only staying there for 1night only because we had to come back on Sunday. Next day, we took ferry back to town and waiting for our bus to head back to KL. It was a very nice short trip.

Langkawi 2011

Langkawi is the earliest vacation for me in 2011. I have planned this trip a year before with my Indonesian friends. Flight from Medan to Kuala Lumpur then straight away heading to Langkawi. We departed at 11 Feb and we have been staying there for 2 nights only.

Langkawi is an island with small population leaving there. Local villagers are friendly. After we arrived there, straight away went to rent a car to go around the island. We were depending on the maps that given to us and Blackberry GPS.. I dont think we gonna need driver in Langkawi so we drive the car ourselves. A lot of place to have fun namely Cenang beach, Kuah, Datai Bay, KOK beach, a lot more. But for me the best is Datay bay area. We stayed in Andaman resort which is a wonderful hotel. Although place is quite far, but the they have private beach there and is a wonderful beach.

First day wasnt do too many things since we arrived very late at night. The next day started with going to Underwater in Langkawi, having lunch eating seafood which is so delicious because it is fresh then afterward went directly to hotel. The rest of the day, we went to the beach and having fun in there. Sitting on the beach and tanned myself. The next day, we checked out from the hotel and went around. We went to the cable car and lastly yacht club to take picture. Headed to airport and waiting for our flight back to Kuala Lumpur. OMG, flight delayed and this time even worse. No estimated time given when the plane was going to arrived. Waiting in the airport for few hours. Finally 12midnight the plane was here and headed to KL. Arrived KL in the morning and checked in to hotel.

Hotel in KL is the worst, I checked in the hotel around 3 am in the morning, the receptionist gave me the room key but couldn't open the door. So, I asked her to change. Then, she gave me another room. I was so shocked as the way going inside the room. The same row of my room, inside is like having a slut organization. When i wanna walked inside, I could see all the slut with tube covering their breast queue at the end of the room. What a terrible hotel.

My final test for semester 2 was just out. I'm satisfied with the result as the effort that I putted during the test. Just wondering how my patisserie and baking can get A. I was so amazed because the exam and final test, I didnt do it very well. I only did well during practical test. Anyway, doesnt matter as long as I can get good mark. Haha.. GPA is increasing as well. Semester 1, I only got 3.4. Now. 3.6 already. Have to keep it up.

I hope its gonna be my next destination after my February trip to Langkawi. Im really wanna go visit Dubai. What makes me wanna go there? Ermm... Basically a lot of things. I am amazed with how they make their city become the tourism spot. Creating every amazement especially for the tourist and besides it, they create everything and make it become the most amazing. For instance, the highest tower in the world, biggest airport, 7star hotel, biggest water park, etc. One of my best friend is from Dubai. So he keeps on asking me to visit his country since he visited mine last holiday and as return, I have to visit there as well. Just dont know when its going to happen. For me, if I'm going to visit there, It's wont cost me too much compare to the person who doesn't know anybody in there. Because if I'm going, I am going to stay in his house. So, I save money for accommodation already which accommodation in there is killing us. The air ticket from Malaysia to Dubai, which around Rm2000++ during the promotion using Malaysia airlines. I wish I can get there by Emirates but it's extremely expensive. So, I just need to spend on my own expense and fee for the activities. For instance, going for the desert safari, sand boarding, riding camel, visit the Wild Wadi water park. Besides Dubai, he told me that we can go to Abu Dhabi which takes 3 hours by car. In Abu dhabi, We gonna rock the Abu Dhabi like the movie "Sex and the City 2". Gonna visit the Emirates palace hotel which the "sex and the city" stars were staying.

Burj Khalifa, the highest tower in the world. Approx 828 meters. In front of the tower, we can see a wonderful fountain known as the Dubai fountain. Inside the Burj Khalifa have Armani hotel which partnership with the famous designer Giorgio Armani.

Burj Al-Arab, the 7 star hotel in the world. They have few wonderful restaurants namely Al- Mahara, underwater restaurant, which we can have the atmosphere like having our meals inside the sea and Al- Muntaha located above 200m which we can have a view of Dubai.

I woke up around 3pm. i was planning to go watched movie at night. There was new movie released played by Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie called The Tourist. But my friends were still sleeping so had to wait for them until they awake. We started going out at 8 and went to shopping center to collect the ticket. Afterward, the other friend fetch us from there and we went to eat. Our movie was played at 11.50 so we had to eat and chit chat until around 11 then left there. Talk talk talk and it's the time to go.

The theater was crowded. It's a nice movie but i think the movie is least in action.

We decided not to go back after movie as usual cause it was just 2am. So, we continued went to 24hours tea shop. We went there to eat. Suddenly saw a lot of people playing card which could be caught in here if police seeing us. But everyone was playing it. So we decided to play. The game was called Big2. I never played that before. We played until 5am in the morning which i ended up winning and my friend scolding me cause i won. Haha.. Then, we went to have breakfast and went back home. It's was a very fun day yet tiring.

New Year eve

Since most of my friends went abroad, so I ended up celebrating eve with my family. My parents asked me to cook several dishes for dinner. So, i need to write all the ingredient needed and buy it. Menu : mussel kaiyaki, lasagna, fried chicken breast, grilled prime beef with mushroom sauce and served with mashed potatoes.

Early morning, i woke up and went to market. I was so pissed off that day because most of my ingredients, they didn't have it such as paprika powder, blackpepper, mussel. Furthermore, all the ingredients weren't provided in one grocery store. I had to go to few groceries to get the ingredients. OK. Finally, i got what i wanted. Just few things were missing. It didn't matter anymore.

Started cooking at around 4 and finished by 7. So tiring. After eating, got a call from my grandmother asked us to go to her house cause they were having BBQ party. So, we all took bath and went there. At the end, celebrating the eve in my grandmother house. My plan really dint come along. In my mind, i was thinking celebrating eve with few friends at bar then counting down together, but it ended up differently.

Im back to Indonesia. Im having 3 months holiday and supposed to have part time job. However, I decided to go back to Indonesia to have Mandarin tuition. Since I have been accepted in the STEP program, I really think that I need to improve my Mandarin because Shangri-La in the future is mostly focus in China region so Mandarin is very crucial. Today, is the 2nd day of my class. OMG, it's so difficult. Have to memorize the symbol, pronunciation. Everything have to start from beginning.

I am so fed up. Thinking what the plan for Christmas and New Year. I know it's going to be normal gathering with friends. AH.... I wanna back to Malaysia....

It turns out my roommate really leaving Malaysia. Last day for him in Malaysia was so miserable. He was sick. Haha. So cant really enjoy it. Just stayed in bed. At night, he felt better. Luckily, I had moment to give the gift to him as a remembrance plus birthday since his birthday is on January and I wont be there. So, I passed it to him first.

I am going to miss him so much because he is a really a good friend of mine. Most of the time, I made him pissed off but he still can understand me. Gonna wish u all the best.
