Yes, Jews are in danger in Israel (and worldwide)! Yet, people around the world ask Israel why it defends the lives of its 7 million citizens (Jews and non Jews alike!). Because the terrorist regime voted in a qvasi - democratic fashion in Gaza (if one ignores the killings against Fatah members and officials) wants, plans and tries to put in practice ways to clear Israel of its Jewish population.

The last time Jews were about to be murdered the world (including the US) stood still and waited. This time, Jews do not stand still and wait. Because they know the World will do the same over again.

In a twisted compensatory logic most Nations of the world accuse the Jews for the current situation and for being the Goliath in this fight for survival. Zoom out of the Gaza strip (after you've really looked closely at what's murderous plans are taking shape within!) and look at tiny Israel in a mass of Muslim nations bent on creating a Judenrein Middle East! If you care about human rights, protect the rights of the Jews of Israel!
If you care about human rights, shout for the victims of Darfur, for those oppresed in China, for the Christians opressed and killed in many muslim countries. If you care about the Palestinian nation's right to a homeland, why do you shut up when it comes to the Kurdish nation??!

The Gaza Flotilla and the Maritime Blockade of Gaza

Legal Background –

1. A maritime blockade is in effect off the coast of Gaza . Such blockade has been imposed, as Israel is currently in a state of armed conflict with the Hamas regime that controls Gaza , which has repeatedly bombed civilian targets in Israel with weapons that have been smuggled into Gaza via the sea.
2. Maritime blockades are a legitimate and recognized measure under international law that may be implemented as part of an armed conflict at sea.
3. A blockade may be imposed at sea, including in international waters, so long as it does not bar access to the ports and coasts of neutral States.
4. Given the protesters explicit intention to violate the naval blockade, Israel exercised its right under international law to enforce the blockade. It should be noted that prior to undertaking enforcement measures, explicit warnings were relayed directly to the captains of the vessels, ex press ing Israel's intent to exercise its right to enforce the blockade.
5. Israel had attempted to take control of the vessels participating in the flotilla by peaceful means and in an orderly fashion in order to enforce the blockade. Given the large number of vessels participating in the flotilla, an operational decision was made to undertake measures to enforce the blockade a certain distance from the area of the blockade.
6. Israeli personnel attempting to enforce the blockade were met with violence by the protesters and acted in self defense to fend off such attacks.

My personal comment: this shows how some people decide to be racist without looking at the root causes of their misery - the first slavery wave took place from Africa towards the Arab Peninsula! (you never heard about Jewish slave masters, as slavery is forbidden in Judaism!). But again, Jews are the scapegoats for all!

When Jews stood against slavery and oppression of African Americans, or of South African black people - we were "ok". And then? Its easy to forget!!!

George Lincoln Rockwell was an ex-Navy pilot who had fought in World War II and the Korean War. He has lived up to his name. He is not asking you and me to follow him. He endorsed the stand for self that you and I are taking. Why should not you applaud? No other white people want you to do such a thing. His own people will hurt him or try to hurt him, you heard what he said, just because they have taken a stand to see that you be separated to get justice and freedom ... what right have you to sit there and hold your hand when you know he is telling the truth. No, the trouble of it is you are scared to death! You don’t want the white slave master to say 'I heard that you were there listening and enjoying the German Nazis or the White Circle leader'. Attitudes toward Israel are widely negative. Twenty-four countries give an unfavorable evaluation, while only two evaluate Israel positively, and two are divided. In the 28-country average, 50 per cent rate Israel's influence negatively and 19 per cent rate it positively.

Even so, the average of countries polled in both 2009 and 2010 became slightly less negative; unfavorable ratings have dropped by four points.

Views improved but remained negative in several countries. Unfavorable ratings have dropped in Australia by 20 points (now 47%, down from 67%), in Canada by 14 points (now 38%, down from 52%), in China by 12 points (now 40%, down from 52%), in Japan by 11 points (now 52%, down from 63%), in Portugal by 22 points (now 46%, down from 68%), in Spain by 11 points (now 60%, down from 71%)

The USA has remained one of the two countries offering a positive rating overall, although this has dropped seven points (now 40%, down from 47%). Russia continues to be quite divided (29% positive, 30% negative).

Majority-Muslim countries continue to have negative views about Israel's influence. All five of these countries surveyed have negative majorities: Egypt (92%), Turkey (77%), Indonesia (56%), Pakistan (53%), and Azerbaijan (51%).

“After she was murdered, she became a symbol of freedom across the entire world. Her brave and firm protest brought unity to the Iranian people’s struggle and I hope that her actions will lead to change in the future,” he added.

President Peres replied to Makin, “In Israel we feel a historic connection to the Iranian people. Iran is not enriched uranium, but rather a prosperous and ancient culture. The uprising of many Iranians restored the honor typical to this Iranian culture. More than an economic or military struggle, I see this struggle as a moral fight; and Neda was a brave soldier in that struggle.”

He said that he is shocked by the treatment of protestors in Tehran and that he has “great respect for the Iranian protestors who go out to fight for freedom, unarmed, and receive in return bullets in cold blood. I have no doubt you will win. You represent a truth that never grows old, a freedom that has no alternative.”

“You can murder a person, but not a spirit. One candle can scatter a lot of darkness. And this candle will not be extinguished. In this struggle, I am sure that the progressive and moral Iran will emerge victorious.”

Caspian Makin said he was moved by his visit to Israel “because this is a country managed well, a country which respect all its citizens. The Israeli people enjoy total freedom and this stands in stark contrast to what occurs under the Iranian regime and its leaders.”

I read the recent article (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/28/opinion/28friedman.html) on the peace process by TL Friedman - a journalist I got to appreciate through reading his op-eds in the NY TImes, his books on the Middle East (From Beirut to Jerusalem) and the economy of today (The World Is Flat).

I do not want to attack him as do many others (Chomski and Finklstein, amongst others), although the title might suggest otherwise - I just want to say he's got a really globalized view on the situation in the Middle East. The average that make it so globalized is given by a multitude of views, so congratulations to him. If the average is what he seeks after so many years of great success, as Borat would put it :D

And a very nice response to Tom Friedman on this topic by Michael Oren (State of the Union show on CNN), bravo! Looking forward to seeing him advance to Foreign Affairs Minister of Israel.

Libyan leader calls European country 'an infidel, obscene state which is destroying mosques'

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi called on Thursday for a "jihad" or armed struggle against Switzerland, saying it was an infidel state that was destroying mosques.

"Any Muslim in any part of the world who works with Switzerland is an apostate, is against (the Prophet) Muhammad, God and the Koran," Gaddafi said during a meeting in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi to mark the Prophet's birthday.

"The masses of Muslims must go to all airports in the Islamic world and prevent any Swiss plane landing, to all harbors and prevent any Swiss ships docking, inspect all shops and markets to stop any Swiss goods being sold," Gaddafi said.

Hello,

Got to read about this piece of "news" recently on ynet(http://www.ynet.co.il/english/articles/0,7340,L-3820532,00.html). Few conclusions:

1. The story is strange, improbable under the terms exposed by this girl, BUT not impossible. Its true some border patrol soldiers are not the smartest, but thats true as a percentage in any population, anywhere in the world. We have to take into account the dangers they face every day - and many times these dangers are not presented to them in "black and/or white"..

2. The girl seems to be lacking a clear identity (she's not the one to blame, perhaps her parents - and I'm not necessarily talking about intermarriage here, rather about the lack of education towards an identity thereafter/her birth, that is..). Unfortunately - many people are in this situation and many end up being similar to what I present under point 3, below.

She might end up someday (perhaps the laptop incident will also end up being a part of the puzzle) really doing something nasty against Israel, Israelis, Jews (she anyway has a good start at it: furthering negative and FALSE aggressive imagery regarding Israelis). I don't know - but maybe..I wouldn't be surprised.

I wonder if she's part of the ISM or other such movements. She anyways seem to love the Middle East (Egypt and Palestinians, for sure) - but not Israel. If I were Freud I'd say this is because of her identity and complexes.

The "Stockholm syndrome" is a psychological response sometimes seen in abducted hostages, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger or risk in which they have been placed. The syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm, in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage from August 23 to August 28, 1973. In this case, the victims became emotionally attached to their captors, and even defended them after they were freed from their six-day ordeal.

Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim who reportedly expressed growing dismay over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The shootings left 13 people dead and 29 wounded.

J Street student group drops pro-Israel slogan

"J Street's university arm has dropped the "pro-Israel" part of the left-wing US lobby's "pro-Israel, pro-peace" slogan to avoid alienating students.

That decision was part of the message conveyed to young activists who attended a special weekend program for students ahead of J Street's first annual conference, which began on Sunday.

At their earlier weekend session, the 250 participating students mapped out strategies for bringing J Street's approach to college campuses and encouraging students to join in the effort.
"We don't want to isolate people because they don't feel quite so comfortable with 'pro-Israel,' so we say 'pro-peace,'" said American University junior Lauren Barr of the "J Street U" slogan, "but behind that is 'pro-Israel.'"

Barr, secretary of the J Street U student board that decided the slogan's terminology, explained that on campus, "people feel alienated when the conversation revolves around a connection to Israel only, because people feel connected to Palestine, people feel connected to social justice, people feel connected to the Middle East."

She noted that the individual student chapters would be free to add "pro-Israel," "pro-Israel, pro-Palestine," or other wording that they felt would be effective on this issue, since "it's up to the individuals on campus to know their audience."

Yonatan Shechter, a junior at Hampshire College, said the ultra-liberal Massachusetts campus is inhospitable to terms like "Zionist" and that when his former organization, the Union of Progressive Zionists (which has been absorbed into J Street U), dropped that last word of its name, "people were so relieved."

Shechter said that J Street U allows students who support Israel to have an address on his campus, adding that nothing more to the right exists or would be sustainable and the only other Jewish student group "is decidedly not political... they won't go beyond having felafel on Independence Day."

Researching (google, dont worry) a bit on "Lauren Barr" I found out she was in Ramallah last year as part of a broader tour to "the region". I have to warn you Lauren - next time you're in the city, you might end up lynched (see recent history) - that's what usually happens to Jews there. Instead, you received a very warm welcome - you are becoming useful to the Palestinians.

And this is what you and J-Street really seem to want out of this entire endeavor: to be useful to the Palestinians. Fair Enough: their leadership is not there for them, so you might as well be!

But then..whats with all the "J" in "J-Street"? Who's there to "be useful" to the Jews in the Middle East? If the JEWISH STREET (J-Street, let me assume) in America is not ready for that...than who is? The "A-Street", the M-Street?

Beyonce Postpones Malaysia Tour after Islamic Criticism

Single ladies in Malaysia won't be hearing "Single Ladies" any time soon. Not from Beyonce at least. The star pop and R&B singer has indefinitely postponed her tour in Malaysia after the nation's Islamist party objected to her revealing costumes, provocative song lyrics and sexy dance moves.

Beyonce was set to perform at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on October 25th when the show was suddenly cancelled by promoter Marctensia.

As a South East Asian country with over 60% of its population Muslim, Malaysia has had its run-ins with provocative performers in the past. Female singers and dancers are often required to wear burkas, as it is against Islamic law for women to perform for men other than their husbands where "immoral activity" may take place. The country's Pan Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) also recently tried to ban Avril Lavigne and The Black Eyed Peas from performing.

So when uproar started over Beyonce's upcoming tour, the show's Malaysian promoter cancelled. However, according to a statement released by Marctensia, the concert cancellation was purely the decision of Beyonce's people.

"The postponement is solely (the) decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons," it said.

Either way, it doesn't look like Malays will get to see Sasha Fierce booty-drop any time soon.

Inglourious Basterds or Instant Gratification

Just out of watching Inglourious Basterds - and just before it I was told by a friend this is a "silly movie" and "a disappointment".

My opinion is simple, but ..Ill just tell you what it felt watching the movie for its full 153 mins!

At the beginning (Chapter 1 - killing of the Jewish family) I was cold, damn cold and only got a bit more relaxed during Chapter Two (the forming of the "basterds" team and its first "activities"). Being more relaxed than turned into me being really hot and anxious..with the chapter showing life in Paris, the awkward meetings there, etc (I won;t steal too much from the pleasure of watching the movie ;))..

"Operation Kino" turned me into a cold, tensed b*stard again! This was in many ways a pre-climax like moment.. :)

The end was what turned this entire thing into the fulfillment of many teenage Jewish boys' dreams ...killing H*ler and all the other real bastards.

The end brought a big huge relief laughter from my side, suppress immediately by the image of my family being killed by the nazis and the realization that this is just a film ... just a film!

BUT....what a gratifying sensation and epic image ..with h*ler being turned into mashed potatoes by the rage of million Jews!!!

I got carried out by emotion even during writing this incoherent synopsis, so you can imagine this movie can not be watched without feeling something.

A bad movie? A good movie? Not sure what it is...except for: instant gratification.

Ex-IDF commandos rescue U.S. citizen, son from abusive Palestinian husband

Several ex-Israel Defense Forces commandos rescued an American woman and her two-year-old son on Monday from the woman's abusive spouse, who was holding them against her will in a Palestinian village in the West Bank, Israel Radio reported.

According to the woman, her husband - who she first met in the United States - hit her, prohibited her from leaving the house and threatened that if she left she would never see her son again.

After becoming aware of their daughter's predicament, the woman's parents contacted an Israeli who used to serve in an elite IDF unit, and he enlisted some of his friends to join him in the operation.

The ex-commandos spent several weeks of planning the successful rescue operation, which involved entering Palestinian Authority territory.

The woman and her son landed in the U.S. on Tuesday after being brought to the U.S. consulate in Jerusalem following her rescue.

The crown prince of the Gulf state of Bahrain, Sheikh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa, has called on Arab governments to communicate more with Israelis. “We need fresh thinking if the Arab Peace Initiative is to have the impact it deserves on the crisis that needlessly impoverishes Palestinians and endangers Israel's security. This crisis is not a zero-sum game. For one side to win, the other does not have to lose,” he wrote in an op-ed published by the ‘Washington Post’.

“The reality is that peace is a process, contingent on a good idea but also requiring a great deal of campaigning - patiently and repeatedly targeting all relevant parties. This is where we as Arabs have not done enough to communicate directly with the people of Israel. An Israeli might be forgiven for thinking that every Muslim voice is raised in hatred, because that is usually the only one he hears. Just as an Arab might be forgiven for thinking every Israeli wants the destruction of every Palestinian,” the crown prince wrote, adding that Arabs had to reach out to Israeli media to get their message across in Israel.

"Essentially, we have not done a good enough job demonstrating to Israelis how our initiative can form part of a peace between equals in a trouble land holy to three great faiths," al-Khalifa declared.

Ken Loach is a Roach

British director Ken Loach has withdrawn his film Looking for Eric from the Melbourne International Film Festival to protest Israeli funding of another film participating in the festival.

Loach demanded that the festival reject the Israeli Embassy's sponsorship of Tatia Rosenthal to visit the festival to answer questions about her animation feature $9.99, but the festival organizers refused, saying that they would not bow to "blackmail," the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.

Earlier this year, the Edinburgh Film Festival returned a 300 pound grant from the Israeli embassy due to pressure from the renowned director.

ABC quoted Australian federal Labor MP Michael Danby as having applauded festival organizers for standing up to Loach, and saying that ;

He also said that it does not make sense to boycott Israeli films in order to make a political point against their country's government.

"Why would you stop showing films that ask serious questions of the Israeli government in order to spite that very government?"

Melbourne International Film Festival chief executive Richard Moore insisted that as an independent arts event, the festival would not capitulate to political pressure.

"MIFF understands that that this issue is a particularly emotional one for people, but we will not participate in a boycott against the state of Israel, just as we would not contemplate boycotting films from China or other nations involved in difficult long-standing historical disputes," ABC quoted him as saying.

"Mr Loach's decision is part of an orchestrated campaign to target events that are in receipt of financial support from the state of Israel. Loach requested that we join the boycott and as an independent arts organization. MIFF has refused," he said.

Loach has long been an outspoken critic of Israel and its actions in Gaza and Lebanon.

Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich beat Russia's Marat Safin and Igor Kunitsyn in the Davis Cup quarter-final at the Nokia Arena on Saturday to give Israel an unassailable 3-0 lead and advance to the semifinals of the prestigious competition for the first time ever.

The Israeli doubles pair won the match 6-3, 6-4, 6-7, 4-6, 6-4 in front of a boisterous Tel Aviv crowd of over 10,000.

The historic victory set up a September semi-final encounter with either Spain or Germany.

Erlich hailed the crowd's role in their victory, telling the cheering spectators they'd played a crucial part. Ram, the more demonstrative half of the duo, found himself lost for words in mid-sentence at a post-match TV interview on court, and headed off across the arena with his shirt over his head to embrace his teammates.

Half an hour after the game had ended, he was still court-side signing autographs.

Speaking to Channel 2 later Saturday night, Ram also praised the crowd, saying that "none of us has ever experienced such an atmosphere."

Israel had got off to a dream start on Friday when Harel Levy and Dudi Sela defeated Igor Andreev and Mikhail Youzhny respectively.

In the first match, Harel Levy, 31, ranked 210th in the world, beat Igor Andreev, ranked 24th. He won 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

In the second match, Dudi Sela, ranked 33th in the world, beat Mikhai Youzhny 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, 7-5.

40.5% of Israeli Arabs deny Holocaust

As many as 40.5 percent of Israeli Arabs believe that the Holocaust never happened, up from 28% in 2006, a new study released by Haifa University on Sunday stated.

According to the research, Holocaust-denial was present in all class sectors, with about 37 percent of respondents having studied beyond high school.

The study also focused on the issue of whether Israel should be classified as a Jewish state. According to those polled, only 41 percent of Arab Israelis recognize the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish and democratic state, compared to 65.6 percent in 2003.

In addition, about 53.7 percent of Arab-Israelis recognize the right of Israel to exist as an independent state, compared to 81.1 percent who recognized that in 2003.

The Haifa University study, conducted by Professor Sami Smooha, surveyed about 700 men and women from the Arab-Israeli and Druse sector.

I feel really bad seeing youth (usually) all over Europe wearing keffiahs around their necks..as a sign of being "cool", against the system sometimes, I suppose..

I feel bad because people wearing this in other circles would probably want me dead...so Im afraid to think that these young guys and girls in Europe might want the same. But lets not go that far! I would simply want them to understand that what they are wearing is not a simple "scarf", its something that has a connotation, and that connotation is linked to terrorism. One could say ..well, you know that the keffia is a scarf that many millions of Arabs wear, without any link to terrorism? 100% true!

But the way this keffia made its way to Europe and the rest of the world is through terrorism - through the image of Arafat and of other terrorists.

The tshirts with Che Guevara's iconized figure - the same in so many ways!
Che Guevara was a murderer who become an icon of anti-capitalism/imperialism. So young people in Switzerland, leaving a good life - exactly because of "imperialism/capitalism" - will wear that and feel that do something good for the others who are not so lucky! Give me a break, please.

If you're in your 20s or 30s and you live in England and you wear a keffia and you hate Israel, you are not washing away the guilt your ancestors have for colonialism! You are simply turning a blind eye on the violent history of the ME and the present violent attacks against your own country and other somewhat more civilized countries.

The same in Germany - all the radical left wingers, wearing keffiahs and accusing Israel as a "colonial power" - you are not washing away the guilt of your family, you're leaving aside truth and you're trying to close a circle. "We killed the Jews, now they kill others ("no matter if in selfdefence, and let us question that as well"!), so we're not worse than them..and perhaps they DESERVED IT.

Its a fucked up world, isn'it?
