Looks like the Dev-Team is going to be demoing a working version of the yellowsn0w carrier unlock on the official iPhone OS 3.0 firmware tomorrow evening, that’s Tuesday June 16th folks. I’ll be sure to post a link to the video or whatever it is ASAP. You can also follow @MuscleNerd yourself to find out immediately when the demo is up.

As anyone reading this blog must already know, this is the big week where Apple releases their official 3.0 FW to the public (Wednesday), and then the new iPhone2,1 hardware, aka the iPhone 3GS (Friday).

On Tuesday evening (just before the big Apple release) we’ll do a live demo of the yellowsn0w carrier unlock working on official 3.0 firmware. The actual link for the feed will be twittered by @MuscleNerd (see our twitter feeds to the right) and also placed here when the feed starts. The demo should answer everything you need to know about the new yellowsn0w. But it’s good news for iPhone 3G unlockers everywhere.

Meanwhile, we’re in the middle of testing our PwnageTool and QuickPwn tools, which will work with iTunes 8.2. The jailbreak of course continues to work on 3.0 for all devices it ever worked on, thanks due the Pwnage 2.0 technique released last summer. Our tools will be released no sooner than the Apple release (just in case!).

P.S. For the new iPhone 3GS, please don’t expect periodic updates about any progress we have or don’t have. Nothing gives Apple the upper hand like someone tweeting or blogging or partial hack results. That’s not how cat & mouse is played That’s how the cat gets fed.

I sold my iPhone 3G a little bit earlier on craigslist.org for $200, and it sold in 5 minutes, literally. This was the title of my ad “iPhone 3G (8GB Black) Hacked/Jailbroke.” I seriously got 7 emails in 5 minutes at 11PM, I called the most interesting subject line right away, and we met up within 30 minutes. Crazy huh? Apple products are like serious gold! They hold resell value so well.

Anyways, the point of this post is to inform you I will be posting a crazy amount of videos on youtube as soon as I get a damn iPhone! I will be waiting in line at AT&T for my new toy. I did not pre-order it, so I will be insanely sad if I don’t get one…

NOTE: If you look closely, you’ll actually notice that they rearranged the icons. The 3.0 firmware adds a Voice Memos application. Instead of adding the Voice Memos app at the end, they add it to the third row of apps and then rearrange the entire third row of apps. Previously it went Clock, Calculator, Notes and Settings now, they have it as Voice Memos, Notes, Clock, Calculator. Lmfao.

Looks like the long awaiting MMS (picture messaging) is finally going to be available, and not only that, AT&T is going to include it in our text messaging package for free. Yay for that! About time right? AT&T Says:

Later this summer, as part of the 3.0 software, AT&T will make multimedia messaging (MMS) available at no extra cost to customers with a text messaging bundle

I was told something a bit different, I was told MMS would be available on the 17th of June (2 days from this post), as earlier stated in my last post. But either way, we are getting MMS this summer, and for free.

Looks like we have some leakage on the new hardware inside of the iPhone 3G S. Anandtech really spills the beans here for us, going in-depth about the new iPhone 3G S hardware. It’s all so fascinating!

It looks like the new iPhone 3G S is sporting the new ARM Cortex A8 CPU, while the old iPhone’s are using the ARM11 Core. In short… If the iPhone 2G/3G were Honda’s, the iPhone 3G S would be a BMW.

As for the GPU (Graphics processing unit), the PowerVR SGX — even if it’s clocked down to half-speed, it’s rendering geometry 3.5x faster with a fill rate 25% higher as well:

The iPhone 3GS may be a mild upgrade from a consumer perspective, but what it’s going to enable is far from it; watch out Nintendo. Remember the performance gains we saw in the early days of 3D graphics on the PC? We’re about to go through all of that once more in the mobile space. Awesome.

I personally called AT&T twice, and sat on the phone for quite some time, trying to figure out some issues about my upgrade eligibility… At the end of the conversations, I asked both AT&T “manager/supervisors” about MMS and tethering.

Both managers did reply saying:

“MMS will be available when iPhone OS 3.0 launches on June 17th”

“Tethering will be available later this summer once AT&T determines a pricing package.”

So apparently, MMS will be available, and NOT late this summer, according to these so called “managers.“

Well it looks like AT&T is out of pre-orders available for pickup on June 19th the launch day.

According to the BoyGeniusReport, AT&T has sold out of its initial iPhone 3GS pre-order stock, so if you haven’t ordered one yet, you will have to wait a couple of weeks.

So basically, you can’t pre-order at the store or online anymore to guarantee pickup on the June 19th the launch date. If you have no pre-ordered yet, and were planning on it, your iPhone 3G S won’t be shipping to you/your store until “7-14 days” after the order date.

But you’re not completely out of luck, I went to a few AT&T stores myself, and a few of the AT&T’s told me personally they “had an ample amount of iPhone 3GS’s aside” for people in line.

So, if you want an iPhone 3G S on launch day, your best bet is to start camping in line. I know I am going before 7AM to make sure I avoid any confusion of people who might not know 7AM is for pre-orders only.

How to get free apps and games on your iPhone or iPod Touch! Literally, anything you want from the AppStore, you can now have for free!

What does this application exactly do?
Well if you launch Installous from springboard, it’ll list every single IPA that you’ve download, and installing them is as simple as a tap, and hitting Install. Installous will easily install the app, and the selected IPA will install! A respring isn’t even required! Just wait a few seconds and the selected IPA will be installed! Don’t like an app you downloaded? Swipe it to the right and select Delete! Poof! It’s gone!
(Note: Your iPhone will freeze for a few seconds as the IPA installation is finalizing. Don’t freak out when it gets stuck!)

Power Slider by Incase is extremely bad ass. This thing doubles your battery life on your iPhone, and I find this much more convenient than the RichardSolo 1800. The Power Slider however does make your phone a bit thicker, but I just find it to be so much easier to use than having to stick an obnoxious rectangle charger into my iPhone just to juice it up.

You don’t know how many times I have needed this bad boy, especially when traveling. Slip on this nifty little protection/charging case, and instantly start charging your phone. This thing literally doubles your battery life. You can also plug this into your computer and still sync with iTunes and charge both at the same time. Well not the same time, priority charging goes to your phone first, after your phone is 100% charged, it begins to charge the Power Slider. If you are an on the go type of person, always moving around, fidgeting with your phone, and constantly having to recharge your phone, get this now. A+ in my book.

Pros:
- More then doubles your battery life
- A lot more convenient than the RichardSolo solution
- Also protects your phone
- Can still sync with iTunes
- Can charge both simultaneously

Cons:
- A little thick (deal with it)
- $10 bucks more than the RichardSolo

Conclusion:
If you are in constant need of power for your phone, I strongly suggest the Power Slider. I have it, use it, and love it. Just my opinion

iHome 2.7.1 by Lauro via [MacCiti]

iHome 2.7.1 is a beautiful elegant theme, it’s the current theme I am actually using. The theme however does have some complexities to setting up and what not, but once done, it’s a masterpiece to show off. Any one who has an iPhone will see this theme on your phone, and say “How in the hell?”

However you are restricted a bit with this theme, and you must always keep things clean with the “Categories” app from Cydia. This theme could be customizable if you’re comfortable with SSH’ing into your phone. If you like simplicity and elegance, and don’t mind keeping everything in two folder (like myself), this theme could suit you well!

iHome 2.7.1 does require iHome 2.5 to be setup first which I do explain in a video tutorial here.

How to install:
1. Your device must be jailbroken. (how?)
2. Make sure you have WinterBoard installed via Cydia.
2. Make sure you have the MacCiti source installed in Cydia.
3. Search for iHome in Cydia, run the install.
4. Watch this video for detailed instructions on how to setup properly.

Doom Resurrection huh. I was always a Doom fan as well back when I was kid, hah. Every first person shooter I have tried on the iPhone has sucked balls, they just really aren’t that realistic to be playing on a touch screen phone, but then again, I have always been 100% Counter-Strike at heart, since 1.3 baby… But I must admit, these graphics look pretty intense, looks like the best yet on the iPhone. Can’t wait to see how this baby holds up on the iPhone 3GS.
