The post title is referring to the difference between Android 2.3.3 and Android 2.3.4 because it’s just one visible difference: Support voice and video chat using Google Talk. Of course, there are lot’s of bug fixes, but these are in any release.

So, Android 2.3.4, the latest over the air Android version update brings an exciting new feature to Android based devices. With the upgrade to Android 2.3.4 you can video or voice chat using Google Talk. Once updated you will notice a voice/video chat button next to your contact in Google Talk contact list. With one touch you can send an invitation to start a voice/video chat. You can make video calls via 3G/4G network or via Wi-Fi. The Android 2.3.4 update in addition to this new feature also include some bug fixes.

We have no idea if this is for a limited time so don’t fall asleep on this one.

Asphalt 6: Adrenaline is the latest version of the Asphalt series, and this is the WCG (World Cyber Games) version. You will even have the WCG car to drive. The game is compatible with the international (I9100) as well as Korean versions of Galaxy S II.

The download is a hefty 560MB+ and must be downloaded over a Wi-Fi connection. Other than that, it’s a fairly awesome game with intense graphics for a phone game.

At Google I/O this year, the newest version of Android was officially announced. Codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich, it aims to bring Honeycomb features to phones, Gingerbread features to tablets, and everything in between. The official announcement left us without a firm release date -- only that it would be released in Q4 of this year.

At the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco today, though, Eric Schmidt let a bit more info slip:

We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October/November, which everyone’s really excited about.

This is the first real word that we’ve heard since I/O back in May, and while it may not be much, it definitely puts us one step close to ICS-powered devices.

Here’s a full 5-row keyboard including arrow and Esc/Ctrl keys, intended for tablets, but you can install it on your phone too.

Are you missing the key layout you’re used to from your computer? This keyboard has separate number keys, punctuation in the usual places, and arrow keys. It is based on the AOSP Gingerbread soft keyboard, so it supports multitouch for the modifier keys.

This keyboard is especially useful if you use ConnectBot for SSH access. It provides working Tab/Ctrl/Esc keys, and the arrow keys are essential for devices such as the Xoom tablet or Nexus S that don’t have a trackball or D-Pad.

The supported keyboard layouts include:
- Arabic (العربية)
- British (en_GB)
- Czech (Čeština)
- Dvorak English (language "en-DV")
- English (QWERTY)
- Finnish (Suomi)
- French (Français, AZERTY)
- German (Deutsch, QWERTZ)
- Hebrew (עברית)
- Romanian (Română)
- Russian (Русский)
- Spanish (Español)
- Slovenian (Slovenščina)/Bosnian/Croatian/Latin Serbian

Completion dictionaries are provided by plug-in packages, see the "other applications by this developer" section for the currently available list. The keyboard also supports use of dictionaries (but not keyboard layouts) provided by AnySoftKeyboard language packs.

The permissions requested by the application are those needed by the underlying Gingerbread keyboard. It uses the contacts information for completion of names and email addresses, and audio recording for the voice input feature.

Screnshots:

I think it’s a very useful keyboard for anyone who likes using their phone/tablet not only for games and funny apps, with a very original design for an Android keyboard

To install, get Hacker’s Keyboard from the Android Market, plus optional dictionary packs.

For more information about Hacker’s Keyboard you can visit their website

Data2Ext is an excellent hack to have your “internal memory” increased, but if you don’t want to install it or your custom ROM doesn’t support it, there is an alternative to this little hack which allows you to free some space on phone’s memory.

Data2Ext is an excellent hack to have your “internal memory” increased, but if you don’t want to install it or your custom ROM doesn’t support it, there is an alternative to this little hack which allows you to free some space on phone’s memory.

I’m sure that some of you wondered after you’ve partitioned your SD Card to have … let’s say 1Gb Ext partition where is that space. That’s the amount of free space where you can move the apps to SD (you know that there are lot’s of applications which allows you to do this, and Android has a built in mechanism for moving apps to SD). But not all the apps can be moved to SD, and here’s a small tutorial which allows you to move basically any app to SD card.

First of all, we’re going to connect to the phone with adb shell with the phone on, and the ROM booted (don’t do this in recovery mode!)

See how much space do you have on /data (you’re actual internal phone memory)

df -h | grep data

/dev/block/mtdblock5 287.6M 142.7M 144.9M 50% /data

If you’re seing some strange characters follow this link to get rid of them

So.. it’s 50% full… or empty. Anyway, let’s see now which are the bigger apps installed:
du -sk /data/data/* | sort -rn | head

5080 /data/data/com.skype.raider
3371 /data/data/com.facebook.katana
3181 /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts
2126 /data/data/com.google.android.youtube
1905 /data/data/com.android.browser
1318 /data/data/com.android.vending
1231 /data/data/com.appmania.dm3dandlite2
1196 /data/data/com.htc.launcher
887 /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony
883 /data/data/com.android.mms

The first column is the number of Kb of the application.. So Skype it occupying almost 5Mb.
Let’s move it to the Ext partition..

First we need to create a folder:

mkdir /system/sd/moreapps

And now let’s move stuff and symlink them:

mv /data/data/com.skype.raider /system/sd/moreapps/com.skype.raider

Notice that after the mv command I’m using the old path of the application, and as the second argument I put the path to the newly created folder followed by the package name

The next step is to symlink them in order to “trick” the OS to look for the app in the old location but actually to find the data in the newly created location

ln -s /system/sd/moreapps/com.skype.raider /data/data/com.skype.raider

Here you’ve got to notice that I’ve just reversed the arguments from the mv command.

Now let’s check again my free space:

df -h | grep data

/dev/block/mtdblock5 287.6M 137.7M 149.9M 48% /data

I’ve gained 5 more Mb on the internal memory. You can use this example to move any application that you rarely use and it’s not containing stored passwords or something (like the browser or Gmail) because if someone steals your SD Card, he can read those passwords having your saved application on it (If he know what he’s doing, of course). It’s not very advised to move stuff like Flash Player (‘cause your browser will crash) or any system application because this will slow down your system. You can safely move any other application or game

So this is it. If you encounter any problems, please leave a comment. Now start moving your apps to gain some space!

The SoberApp Android app tracks the type, number, and time of your drinks so you can estimate your Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) and whether or not you should drive.

SoberApp is equipped with an extensive database of over 3,100 different drinks from beers to wines to hard alcohol. To begin, you’ll have to enter your gender and your weight for the app’s basic BAC calculations. Next, click the “Add Drink” button to search and select your drink of choice. If your drink has a barcode, use the Barcode Scanner app to instantly add your beverage which is a very, very useful feature as long as you still hold your phone still in order to scan the barcode . Then choose the drink’s size and enter the time you started sipping/shot gunning it. There’s even the option to share what you’re drinking via Facebook (and ask for a ride if you need it). Long press the drink on the main menu to edit it, delete it, or duplicate it. And since we are creatures of habit, any drink you’ve had in the past will automatically be kept at the top of the search list for easy access later.

To calculate your estimated BAC click the “Can I Drive?” button. If you haven’t had enough just yet and you certainly can’t drive any more, click the “Find Pub” button to search nearby bars within a certain distance. If you’ve had one too many, use the “Find Taxi” button to lookup taxi companies that work in the area so you can safely (and legally) make your way home.

After using this app a few times, check out Menu > Statistics to view things like total drinks consumed, favorite drinks, and alcohol content of your average drink.

This app supports both U.S. and metric units. The app also will detect your location automatically to determine the local laws in your country and for the pub and taxi finder features. If you’d rather the app use a fixed location, specify this in the settings.

Disclaimer: This app is for entertainment and basic informational use only. The actual alcohol level in your blood is dependent on a variety of factors in addition to your gender and weight. The suggested activity is a recommendation for an average person only. Always designate a sober driver or use a taxi/public transportation.

Installation:

You can install the application using the QR Code below or by following the AppBrain Link

Conclusion: SoberApp is an easy way to monitor the number of drinks you’ve had and estimate your BAC, all to increase safety and awareness when you’re out for a good time.

AppMania released today it’s new explosive game Demolition Master 3D for your Android smartphone! It is a sequel of well-known Demolition Master with thousands fans worldwide.

The rules are pretty simple, but gameplay is incredibly exciting. One has to place bombs on weakest points of building and blow constructions. From now this action takes place in impressive 3D world with gorgeous visual effects and superb graphics. You will never be bored with 70 levels in 3 locations and upcoming updates which AppMania is already working on.
One of the biggest surprise in Demolition Master 3D is rich soundtrack from Vladimir "Dargalon" Savin who made great soundtrack for famous Cut The Rope: Experiments! You should listen to it!

What’s amazing is how difficult that can actually be. Sure in first few levels it’s easy to find the keystones of the structures and just put the bomb there, but before long it really ramps up in difficulty. It’s only a few missions into the 70 included where that simple strategy falls away and you need to get a lot more creative and cunning in your bombing choices.

For a game about blowing stuff up it’s actually quite a complex endeavor. This isn’t the kind of thing where you just put a big stick of dynamite in the center and everything just goes flying. These are tactical, directed explosions, and if you want to knock down a structure then you need to be very exact in your placement and timing.

Demolition Master 3D is now in Android Market for $1,99. If you want to try, to be sure in uniqueness of our game, you can Demolition Master 3D for free with Lite-version. Be sure you’re best bomb expert in London, Paris and New York!

Here is a complete guide to the all of the 380+ possible combinations for the most popular brain puzzle game for your Android smartphone: Alchemy - developed by Andrey ‘ZED’ Zaikin.

The objective of the game is simple yet highly addicting, you start out with the four basic elements: Fire, Water, Air and Earth. Then you can drag and drop the elements onto each other to create other “elements”. For example combining ‘air’ and ‘air’ will give you ‘wind’.

The combinations have a great humor to them as you progress with the game, here are some examples:
‘beetle’ + ‘beetle’ = ‘The Beatles’
‘chicken’ +’egg’ = ‘dilemma’
‘man’ + ‘vicodin’ = ‘House MD’

Here is the list of all 380+ element combinations available so far for the Alchemy Android game in alphabetical order, new combinations seem to be added frequently at the moment, so please to post a comment if you have found a combination not in our list:
