Nokia working on tablet confirms Marko

2012-03-16T06:58:00.002-07:00

Ahtisaari , Design Chief at Nokia
In an interview with Finnish newspaper Kauppalehti , Marko Ahtisaari has confirmed that
Nokia is working on their own tablet computer. It would not be wrong to guess that the
tablet computer would run on the upcoming Windows 8 operating system.

Rumors already suggest that the tablet would include a 10.1″ touch screen and would be
powered by a dual core Qualcomm processor. Availability is expected to coincide with the
launch of Windows 8 and we can hope to see the tablet in action at Nokia World later this
year. The tablet is expected to stand out from the thousands of tablets out there. We can
expect great industrial design to be one of the key selling points.

Ideal smartphone screen size is 4 - 4.5 inches, study shows

2012-03-16T06:54:00.003-07:00

A survey, performed by Strategy Analytics in the UK and US amongst current smartphone
users, shows that more than 90% of consumers seek larger screens than those found on
devices they currently own.

The explanation for this is that more and more people use their smartphones for web
browsing, watching video and video conferencing, as well as mobile gaming. And as we all
know, all of these are better on a bigger screen.

Unsurprisingly, females polled tended to wish for slightly smaller displays than males. Also,
existing Android users were more likely to seek larger screens than their iPhone counterparts.

Strategy Analytics warned that any increase in screen size must not be accompanied by a
similar increase in thickness or weight, because devices must remain compact enough to fit
inside purses and pockets.

Apple Vs Android

2012-03-16T06:48:00.000-07:00

Apple iOS and Android are the two fast developing mobile operating system which share
similarities and differences on the basis of their hardware and software. These operating
systems are devised for smart phones, pads and ipods and belong to 4th generation. These
are the most modern technologies that are pretty fast and somewhat mind blowing because
of the amazing features both have for the users. There are differences between Apple iOS
and Android which is necessary to know when we are going to purchase a mobile phone.

SourceCode (Apple Vs Android)

Both have different sources as Apple is a closed source and has disclaimer to use this
operating system on any other mobile phone companies while Android is open source
purchased by Google and any mobile company can use this operating system. Apple does not give access to its users to the software and takes this responsibility of software development on its shoulder easing customers experience with the phone.

Google is continuously improving its applications and developing new applications to
facilitate the user with the desired features. Google has also offered from the user side to
add and develop application and allow them to interact with the software to edit or add new
applications. Basically Linux is making Android software and shows better prospects in the
future to have rivalry with Apple as presently ratio is 300,000 : 200,000 :: Apple : Android.

Operating system (Apple Vs Android)

Apple has an individual operating system reserved only for Apple products like iPhone, iPad, iPod and tablets. It has its very own unique operating system with no further categories. It is the sole proprietor for the Apple devices and still having the prominent position in industry among various mobile operating systems.

Android is derived from Linux and is further divided into different versions. You cannot say
that one Android is similar to other there are variations like Cupcake, Donut, Éclair, Froyo,
Ginger bread and Honey comb and future version is expected as ice-cream. All are slightly
different from one another or you can differentiate them as old or new versions of Android.

Networking (Apple Vs Android)

Android is leading in this feature as it facilitates all community platforms to interact with
others anywhere on any topic. Among these are facebook, twitter, delicious, etc. You become

the part of vast network and become the effective member of this global village whereas
Apple has a limited social network and does not promote globalism yet the part of this globe.

Connectivity (Apple Vs Android)

Android has the benefit of having Google’s platform so all the features like Google’s search
engines, GTalk, Gmail, youtube, and even G maps are supported so it becomes a dynamic
experience to have Android operating system. Apple has its own mailing patron and lacks
other facilities like gmail etc.

Security (Apple Vs Android)

Android being a social network and an open source is more prunes to the viruses and security threats. There are security holes you can say leave readily for the sake of improving the software with the help of passive language programmers and hobbyists who have passion to develop software

Apple has a tight security system as not only its operating system is locked by Apple not to
access but also security patches and bugs are intended to secure Apple mobile to its greater extent. Apple’s Apps are only downloaded on Apple’s devices after authentication procedure.

Utitlity (Apple Vs Android)

Apple is loaded with more than half million applications offers many utility features like
gaming, office pack, filing system, skype, air printing, air play and my iPhone all are dynamic features to enhance the mobile using experience. Android also supports many utility feature however its applications are less in numbers than Apple iOS.

LG Lucid 4G render appears, phone penciled in for March 29th launch

2012-03-07T22:41:00.003-08:00

PocketNow obtained a rendering of the LG Lucid 4G, also known by its codename, the LG
Cayman. We already have a leaked launch date of March 29th for the LG Cayman via Verizon,
so you can apply that to the LG Lucid 4G. The device is expected to come with a 4 inch WVGA
NOVA display with a brightness of 700 nits. Under the hood will be a dual-core 1.2GHz
processor, 8 GB of native storage and a rear-facing 5MP camera that captures video in 1080p.
The front facing VGA camera takes self-portraits and allows you to video chat. Android 2.3
will be pre-installed and the device will offer 4G LTE connectivity.
With a model number of VS840, the LG Lucid 4G will be pegged between the VS700 LG
Enlighten and the VS920 LG Spectrum. We would imagine that Verizon will put a $199.99
contract price on the phone.

Toshiba shows off 13.3 inch tablet concept to be powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3

2012-03-07T22:21:00.000-08:00

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas unless what happened was a
13.3 inch quad-core tablet. During this year's CES show in Las Vegas,
we told you about three Toshiba tablets on display. One had a 5.1
inch screen, another had a 7.7 inch display and the third carried a
The latter was a non-operating model which prevented us from
assive 13.3 inch HD panel
getting a good look at the tablet.
Well, it turns out the crew at Pocket-lint happened upon the 13.3 inch
Toshiba tablet on display in the U.K. at the Toshiba 2012 conference.
Just like in Vegas, the tablet was not operational, but unlike the unit at CES, this one could be
handled. We are told that the tablet is light and not as unwieldy as you might imagine.

On the side it looks like the tablet will offer HDMI and USB connectivity with a slot for
microSD cards. The unnamed 13.3 inch Toshiba model will allegedly be powered by a NVIDIA
Tegra 3 quad-core processor if it is ever put into production. As a concept model, there is
no guarantee that it will ever see the light of day. Pocket-lint was told by Toshiba that the
decision whether to produce the device will come down to consumer reaction. So if you want
to see this tablet in the stores, Toshiba wants to hear from you.

Apple allegedly offered Motorola and Samsung patent licensing

2012-03-07T22:12:00.002-08:00

Sources, close to Apple, have reportedly shared with Dow Jones
Newswires that Apple has offered Motorola and Samsung patent
licensing deals in order to settle some of the ongoing litigations.
Allegedly, Apple is seeking between $5 and $15 royalties per
handset or roughly between 1% and 2.5% of net sales per device.
If this information turns out true it marks a shift in Apple's strategy
when dealing with Google's rife operating system. It's no secret that
the late Apple leader, Steve Jobs wanted nothing to do with
reconciling with Android but rather wished it gone from the face of
the market.
If Apple settles into patent licensing deals with Motorola and
Samsung, it could receive a nice cash injection as we all know
Android is flourishing in sales but also the Cupertino-based company
could raise the price of making Android smartphones, thus
effectively hardening the task of producing low-end droids for the
mass market and making the OS less favorable for developers.
Trying to stop or otherwise slow down Android by seeking injunctions in various countries
is becoming more and more tiresome a task. Samsung and others have proven that even
hardware-based injunctions can be overcome in a timely manner so it's logical if Apple has
decided to change their strategy. It's either that or we're witnessing a textbook the-stick-or-
the-carrot type of game in action.

Mobiado announces the Grand Touch Aston Martin edition

2012-03-07T22:02:00.002-08:00

Mobiado has partnered with luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin to create their
latest Grand Touch Aston Martin edition.
Just like the previous Grand Touch smartphone, this one, too is a Samsung Nexus S
underneath, but it's pimped out with a really expensive case on top. It can be made
out of a solid aircraft aluminum or solid brass with yellow or rose gold. Below that
some ebony wood or mother of pearl can be inserted depending on your taste.
Of course, the other part of the phone isn't so exquisite and packs the usual Nexus
S hardware, like the 4-inch WVGA screen, 5MP camera at the back, 1GHz single-
core processor, 512MB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Quite unfortunately,
the device comes with Gingerbread pre-installed, but being a Nexus device, you can
easily update it to the latest Ice Cream Sandwich.
Not that you are going to be bothered, because to buy this device, you'll need to have
more money than sense. Official pricing is not unveiled, but we imagine yellow gold,
aircraft aluminum and ebony wood don't come cheap.

http://www.gadgetworld.in
According to the designer, the Android 5.0 interface will be much better than
the current best Android 4.0. The design here is in accordance with the rumors
around and mostly this might be the perfect design.
The best feature of Android 5.0 is that this will be the OS which will support

It’s more often the same as that of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Face
Unlock. This design brings a new notification bar which is more useful which

Let us now check out the steps for downloading torrents on your Android device.
Step 1
Access the Google Android Market application from your phone's application menu. The app may be placed on the home screen as well.

Step 2
Once the Android Market app is open, try locating the app under the utilities tab. You can also use the search widget of the application, located on the upper right side of the screen, and search for Atorrent. This is a free application and has been tried. However, for security purpose, make sure you read the permissions any application asks for.

Step 3
Upon installing the application, start the application. You can also exit the Android Market application and run the Atorrent form the main applications menu.

Step 4
Atorrent app will open up to the main splash screen which showcases the torrent search tab. You can now search for torrent files using this.

Step 5
This application is configured to use the default browser using which one can browse for torrent files and download them.
Note that there are both legal and illegal torrents and we do not encourage illegal downloads.

Step 6
