These days, there’s no shortage of retro gaming handhelds on the market, with different brands, models and gimmicks available pretty much anywhere you look. That in mind, gaming brand AYANEO recently unveiled its new handheld, which greatly resembles the original Nintendo Game Boy.

More specifically, we’re referring to the KONKR Pocket Block, which as you can tell falls under AYANEO’s KONKR sub-brand. The Pocket Block comes with a heavily retro-inspired design, with a full set of controls save for an analogue stick. The device was shown off during AYANEO’s Product Sharing Session on its official YouTube channel, which you can view below.

AYANEO didn’t reveal too much details about the device however, although the company says that the handheld will come with “AI.” As for hardware, it does feature some of the usual tidbits including a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It’s also expected to come with a 3500mAh battery, although at this point we still have to wait for official details from AYANEO.

A while back, the company also showed off the Neo Next 2, although it packs some big differences when compared to the Pocket Block. Priced at $1799, it runs on Windows and is powered by an AMD Ryzen processor, and also comes with a 165Hz display.

With newer vehicles nowadays using advanced infotainment and management software platforms, it’s a bit unsurprising to see more and more manufacturers team up with big names in tech and IoT fields to gain a lead on the competition. Take for example Stellantis, which recently announced a new multi-year partnership with Qualcomm for its Snapdragon Digital Chassis system-on-chips (SoCs).

According to Stellantis, the deal is aimed at essentially combining Snapdragon Digital Chassis tech with Stellantis’ own STLA Brain platform, which manages advanced driver assistance (ADAS), cockpit and connectivity management, and more. The deal also covers Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride Pilot ADAS system, which brings Level 2+ hands-free functionality to select Stellantis models worldwide.

Stellantis adds that the collaboration will pave the way for improved compute performance and AI-based features. Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer at Stellantis comments:

Our customers deserve seamless, next-generation experiences that continuously evolve to meet their driving needs. By deploying this intelligent platform across our global portfolio, Stellantis is delivering on that promise with unprecedented speed and efficiency. This is made possible through our strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, which allows us to scale smarter, connected capabilities across all our brands.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 is probably one of the best compact flagships that you can get this year, and if you’ve been holding off on getting one then now might be the best time to go for it. The base model Galaxy S26 (the smallest of the bunch) is currently on sale right now, with as much as a hundred bucks off its usual retail price thanks to this offer from Amazon.

There’s a lot that Samsung has packed into the Galaxy S26—new this year is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which comes in a special “for Galaxy” configuration specifically tailored for the S26 series. You’re also getting 12GB of RAM and a choice of either 256 or 512GB of internal storage, as Samsung has now removed its older 128GB base storage configuration. For software, you’re getting the latest One UI 8.5 along with Android 16.

The Galaxy S26 also comes with a slightly-larger battery than last year’s model at 4300mAh, although charging speeds remain largely the same at 25W for wired, and 15W for wireless. Likewise, the phone’s camera configuration stays the same with a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP 3X telephoto lens. Selfies are handled by a 12MP front camera.

Samsung's Galaxy Buds Able could bring a clip-style open-ear design to the Galaxy lineup, according to reports from South Korea.

The post Samsung’s next earbuds look nothing like its current ones appeared first on Phandroid.

Samsung’s earbuds have always gone in your ears. Noise cancellation, silicone tips, a seal against the ear canal. That’s been the formula. But according to reports from South Korean industry sources, Samsung’s next earbuds look nothing like its current ones. The Galaxy Buds Able are shaping up to be a clip-style, open-ear design. They sit on the outside of your ear and leave the canal completely open.

The approach is similar to what Huawei pulled off with the FreeClip 2. A C-shaped clip loops around the ear, with a small driver positioned just outside the canal. According to ETNews, citing industry sources, Samsung is going with air conduction rather than bone conduction. That puts the Galaxy Buds Able closer to the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds and Sony LinkBuds Clip. You still hear music clearly, but ambient sound comes through naturally without any transparency mode toggle.

What We Know About the Galaxy Buds Able So Far

This isn’t Samsung’s first experiment with unconventional earbud shapes. The Galaxy Buds Live launched in 2020 with a bean-shaped design that sat in the ear without entering the canal. That one didn’t exactly take off, but the open-ear market has changed a lot since then. The global market for open-style earphones is reportedly climbing from around $3.8 billion last year toward $4.2 billion this year. Bose, Sony, Huawei, and Anker are all pushing hard into that space.

No official launch date exists yet. Some outlets speculated the Galaxy Buds Able could show up at Samsung’s rumored July 22 Unpacked event. SamMobile says the earbuds have hit delays and aren’t expected there. Price and full specs remain unknown. What’s confirmed is that Samsung is actively working on the product. Firmware leaks, a battery certification, and a corroborating report from South Korean industry sources all point the same direction. When it does arrive, it’ll be a genuinely different product from anything in the current Galaxy Buds lineup.

T-Mobile Live Translation beta is now live for select postpaid customers, translating calls across 80+ languages without any app.

The post T-Mobile is translating your calls in real time, right inside the network appeared first on Phandroid.

Live translation on phones isn’t new. Google has it on Pixel, Samsung has it on Galaxy. But those solutions need the right hardware or a specific app. T-Mobile is doing it differently. The carrier just kicked off the beta for T-Mobile Live Translation, a feature baked right into its network. No app. No special device.

You activate it by dialing 87 during a call. The network detects the two languages being spoken and translates both sides in near real time. T-Mobile says it works across more than 80 languages on any phone on its network, including basic feature phones. Only one person on the call needs to be a T-Mobile customer. The beta is free, though that “free during beta” language does suggest pricing could come later.

A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Sign Up

The beta is open to select T-Mobile postpaid customers. You can register through the T-Life app or at t-mobile.com/live-translation. Spots are limited, and signing up doesn’t guarantee access.

There’s also a privacy angle worth thinking about. Since T-Mobile Live Translation runs on the network rather than your device, your call audio passes through T-Mobile’s AI infrastructure. T-Mobile says it doesn’t store recordings or transcripts and only activates when you turn it on. That’s good to know, but worth reading their full policy before using it for anything sensitive.

T-Mobile first unveiled this feature in February, calling it the first feature built on a new “network-native AI” platform. The idea is to push new capabilities through the network itself, without asking customers to buy new hardware or download anything. T-Mobile Live Translation is just the first feature on that platform, with more reportedly in the works.

A leaker claims Apple is testing an iPhone 19 Pro display that curves on all four edges, raising questions about how it differs from the 20th anniversary model.

Apple’s iPhone designs don’t change often. The flat-edged look has been around since the iPhone 12. Outside of the Dynamic Island and some camera upgrades, the front of the phone has stayed pretty familiar. That might be about to change in a big way. According to a new leak, Apple is testing an iPhone 19 Pro display that curves on all four edges. If it holds, it’d be the most dramatic visual overhaul since the iPhone X.

The claim comes from Digital Chat Station, a Weibo leaker with a pretty reliable track record. They correctly predicted the design of the iPhone Air and the iPhone 17 Pro ahead of launch. According to the leak, the iPhone 19 Pro display wraps around all four sides of the phone. The prototype reportedly has a hole-punch cutout for the front camera, but Face ID sits fully hidden under the panel. These devices are in the evaluation stage, so nothing is locked in yet.

The Bigger Question This Raises

There’s a wrinkle worth paying attention to. Apple has been building toward a 20th anniversary iPhone for 2027. Earlier reports described a special model with a quad-curved, fully cutout-free display. If the iPhone 19 Pro already gets the curved screen treatment, it’s harder to see how Apple makes the anniversary model feel distinct.

One possibility is that Apple keeps the fully uninterrupted display, no hole-punch at all, exclusive to the anniversary model. The 19 Pro would get the curve but keep a small punch-hole camera. That split would draw a clear line between the two. It also tracks with what we already know. Apple has been struggling to get the front camera under the display without degrading quality. A hole-punch iPhone 19 Pro display may simply be the more realistic near-term option.

There’s also the naming question. Apple may skip the iPhone 19 name entirely and go straight to iPhone 20 to mark the anniversary. It wouldn’t be the first time. Apple jumped from iPhone 8 to iPhone X in 2017 for the same reason. Nothing is confirmed yet on that front. But 2027 is shaping up to be a genuinely interesting year for iPhone hardware.

AT&T Build-A-Plan starts at $15/month and lets you swap data and hotspot add-ons month to month — but there are a few catches worth knowing.

Most wireless carriers want you to pick a plan and stick with it. You end up paying for data you don’t use or hotspot access you never needed. AT&T is trying something different with AT&T Build-A-Plan. The new plan launches May 27, starts at $15 a month, and lets you swap features in and out every billing cycle.

The base plan covers unlimited talk, text, and 1GB of data. From there, you add what you want. Extra data runs $5 for 5GB or $10 for 15GB. If you need unlimited, that’s $20 a month for standard-definition streaming or $35 for HD. Hotspot is a separate add-on, ranging from $5 for 5GB up to $20 for 50GB. At the top end, the most loaded version runs $70 a month, covering unlimited data with HD streaming and 50GB of hotspot.

A Few Things to Know Before You Sign Up

There are some practical limits worth knowing upfront. AT&T Build-A-Plan is a prepaid offering, so unused data doesn’t roll over. On non-unlimited tiers, video streaming tops out at 2Mbps on 5G or 1.5Mbps on 4G. The plan is also limited to one line per account and is only available online, not in stores.

AT&T has been busy on the plan front lately. The carrier overhauled its main unlimited lineup in March, and there are already reports of a higher-end Elite 2.0 plan in the works. AT&T Build-A-Plan sits outside that unlimited structure entirely, aimed at people who want more say over what they pay each month. According to AT&T, the $15 starting price undercuts both T-Mobile and Verizon’s lowest postpaid options. For light users or anyone tired of paying for features they don’t use, that’s a solid starting point.

The post Spotify Memberships could be a big deal for podcast creators appeared first on Phandroid.

Podcast creators have had to piece together their own monetization stacks for years. Ad revenue, Patreon pages, third-party subscription tools. It’s a lot to manage. Spotify is about to simplify at least part of that. At its 2026 Investor Day, the company announced Spotify Memberships, letting eligible creators offer paid subscriptions directly inside the app.

According to Spotify, Spotify Memberships give creators a way to build recurring revenue from their most dedicated listeners. Fans pay for deeper access to a show, unlocking exclusive content and experiences in return. Creators also get direct access to their subscriber list and audience tools to help them grow.

What This Means for Creators Already on Patreon

One of the more practical details is how Spotify is handling creators who already run memberships elsewhere. If you’re a podcaster with an existing Patreon, you don’t have to abandon it. Spotify says those creators can keep distributing gated content through Spotify Open Access. This allow paid content from outside platforms reach Spotify listeners. Spotify Memberships is just an additional option, not a mandatory switch.

Spotify has been quietly building out its creator monetization tools over the past year. The platform’s Partner Program launched in early 2025, giving eligible creators a share of ad revenue and Premium video payouts. Spotify has also been making moves to compete more directly with YouTube, including rolling out music videos for Premium subscribers late last year. Memberships fits into that same push to keep creators invested in Spotify as a primary home for their content.

The timing makes sense. Patreon reported that podcasters on its platform earned $629 million in 2025, up 33% year over year. That’s a lot of subscription money flowing through a third-party platform. Memberships will roll out to select creators this summer, with more details still to come on pricing and tier structure.

Xiaomi recently announced the launch of the POCO Pad C1, a new addition to its affordable tablet lineup. In case you’re wondering why it looks a bit too familiar, that’s because the POCO Pad C1 shares a lot of similarities with the Redmi Pad 2 9.7, although it does come with the signature POCO aesthetics.

In front is a 9.7-inch 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits, which is housed within a slim, metal unibody chassis. More importantly though, the POCO Pad C1 runs on the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chip, and while it won’t be a performance powerhouse it should be enough for most daily tasks such as content streaming, web browsing and social media use.

The tablet also comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with the option to expand storage up to 2TB via a microSD card. There’s a reasonably-large 7,600mAh battery inside, although it does charge a bit slowly at just 18W. On the software side, the tablet runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and likewise features baked-in AI features from both Xiaomi and Google.

Finally, the tablet also comes with an 8MP main camera, with a 5MP sensor in front for selfies and video calls. Xiaomi hasn’t mentioned regional pricing yet, although we’re bound to see more information once it goes live in global markets.

Not too long after setting a new Nürburgring Nordschleife SUV lap record, Xiaomi’s new YU7 GT finally made its official debut in China. The vehicle was accompanied by the “standard” YU7 model, although Xiaomi’s spotlight is clearly on the more capable GT variant.

As such, the YU7 GT features a dual-motor powertrain which uses Xiaomi’s HyperEngine V8s EVO, capable of up to 28,000 rpm with 1,003 horsepower. The GT variant accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 2.92 seconds and reaches a top speed of 300 kph, while the Standard YU7 can sprint from 0 to 100 kph sprint in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 220 kph.

For performance, the YU7 GT uses the Smart Chassis 2.0 Master Edition, which introduces dual-valve CDC variable dampers, an electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD) for active rear-wheel torque vectoring, and a carbon-ceramic braking system with Akebono multi-piston calipers. By comparison, the base YU7 model comes equipped with the core Smart Chassis 2.0 system, featuring dual-chamber air springs, a motion-sickness relief driving mode, and a 5.7-meter turning radius.

Both models use high-voltage architectures but feature different battery chemistries and capacities. The YU7 Standard is built on a 752V silicon carbide platform with a 73 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which allows for a CLTC-rated range of 643 km; on the other hand, the YU7 GT steps up to an 897V ultra-high-voltage platform with a 101.7 kWh ternary lithium battery, and CLTC range of 705 km.

The new YU7 series also introduces three new standard exterior colors including Crimson Red, Radiant Purple, and Volcanic Gray. The YU7 GT adds distinct aesthetic and aerodynamic modifications, including a widebody stance with 295mm rear tires, an active rear diffuser, a unified front splitter, and 24K gold carbon fiber accents.

Inside, the cabin features OEKO Standard I certified materials, a HEPA filtration system, and an expandable 1,740-liter cargo capacity when the rear seats are folded. The GT variant does add up to 2.3 square meters of Alcantara wrapping, carbon fiber trim, and 18-way adjustable driver’s seating with active cornering bolsters.

The YU7 Series also comes with Xiaomi’s HyperVision panoramic display and an updated XiaoAi AI Voice Assistant ; for automated driving, the lineup uses a dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor computing platform, as well as LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and Xiaomi’s HAD (Hyper Assisted Driving) software for highway and urban navigation.

The Xiaomi YU7 Series is currently on sale in China, with the entry-level Xiaomi YU7 Standard priced starting at RMB 233,500 (roughly $34,000), while the YU7 GT starts at RMB 389,900 (around $57,000).

If you own the DuRoBo Krono e-Reader, then you might want to check out what the brand has been working on lately—DuRoBo recently announced that it’s finally launched Moodi, a compact, wireless page-turning remote aimed at making your reading experience more comfortable, especially during extended reading sessions

Weighing at just 18 grams, the Moodi remote features a rounded, pebble-like silhouette, which houses a dual-button setup for controls. These buttons use DuRoBo’s signature “paw-pad” tactile feedback, which gives off a soft, springy feedback when pressed. DuRoBo says that this design allows users to turn pages, scroll, or control audio without shifting their grip or reaching for a touchscreen.

The Moodi can connect to devices via Bluetooth 5.4, and features three control modes which include Reading Mode for one-handed page turns with a gentle tactile click, Multimedia Mode which controls playback and track skipping for audiobooks and music, and Browsing Mode for incremental scrolling with articles and research notes.

The remote also comes with a bit of customization via swappable, magnetic emoji button caps. Six expressive caps are included in the box which feature “meh,” “cheeky,” “drowsy,” “hype,” “vibin’,” and “goofy” designs, although the differences are mostly for aesthetics. The device is powered by a 90mAh battery that can last up for several weeks on a single charge.

The Moodi remote is available starting at $30.99 directly from the DuRoBo website.

CapCut is partnering with Google Gemini to let you edit images and videos directly inside the Gemini app. No release date yet.

The post Google Gemini is getting CapCut editing built right in appeared first on Phandroid.

If you’ve ever used Gemini to brainstorm a video idea or generate an image, you already know the next step is jumping to a separate app to actually do something with it. CapCut is about to fix that. The company announced a partnership with Google on May 21, 2026, confirming that CapCut’s editing tools are coming directly into the Gemini app.

What the CapCut Gemini Integration Actually Does

According to CapCut’s post on X, users will be able to edit images and videos inside Gemini using CapCut’s tools. The goal is to let you brainstorm a concept, generate media, and polish the final output without switching apps. No more generating an image in Gemini and then exporting it somewhere else to crop, color grade, or add text.

CapCut hasn’t shared a specific release date. The announcement landed just days after Google I/O 2026, where Google unveiled a wave of Gemini updates. A 2026 rollout seems like the reasonable expectation, but nothing is confirmed.

This isn’t the first time CapCut and Google have worked together. Google Photos already lets users export year-end Recap highlights directly to CapCut for editing. The CapCut Gemini integration takes that relationship further, pulling CapCut’s tools into Google’s AI platform rather than just linking out to it.

Why This Fits Into a Bigger Gemini Push

The CapCut Gemini integration is part of a broader trend Google is building. At I/O 2026, Adobe also announced it’s bringing creative tools into Gemini. Users will be able to generate imaging, design, and video content without leaving the app. Google seems to be turning Gemini into the place where you start and finish creative work.

For CapCut, the deal puts its tools in front of Gemini’s user base at exactly the right moment. Google has been steadily expanding what Gemini can do, and creative tools are the next logical layer. CapCut also faces a growing list of rivals. Meta launched its own video editing app called Edits last year, so a high-profile Google partnership doesn’t hurt.

The post PS5 sales dropped 30% in April and May could be even worse appeared first on Phandroid.

If you were paying attention back in late March, you might have noticed PS5 consoles flying off shelves. Sony announced a $100 price hike on March 27. Shoppers had just six days to buy before the new prices kicked in on April 2. According to Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, US hardware spending nearly doubled year-over-year in the week before that deadline. Turns out, that rush made April look a whole lot worse by comparison.

What the April Numbers Show

Circana’s US data for April shows PlayStation console sales fell 30% year-over-year. The PS5 sales drop landed right after Sony raised the PS5 Disc Edition to $649.99 and the Digital Edition to $599.99. The PS5 Pro now sits at $899.99. For context, the standard PS5 launched in 2020 at $499. In under six years, the price has climbed by $150.

Piscatella is already flagging May could be worse. Not all retailers updated their prices immediately in April, meaning some cleared existing stock at the old rate. Once that inventory ran out, buyers faced the full new price with no buffer. Nintendo’s Switch 2 benefited directly from the slowdown. Piscatella noted that Nintendo’s monthly dollar share of hardware spending hit its highest point since July 2025.

Why Sony Raised the Price

The PS5 sales drop isn’t happening in isolation. A global memory chip shortage has pushed up the cost of components that go into every PS5. The shortage is driven largely by surging demand for AI hardware, which has sent DRAM and NAND prices soaring. Sony CEO Hiroki Totoki confirmed the shortages are hitting hardware, software revenue, PlayStation subscriptions, and accessories.

This was the second major hike in under a year. Sony raised prices in August 2025 by around $50, then again in April 2026 by up to $150 depending on the model. Piscatella has said shortages will likely affect Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo through at least 2027. Relief isn’t coming soon.

Sony says no further PS5 price increases are planned for now. But with PlayStation Plus prices also going up and GTA VI still months away, the next quarterly report will be worth watching.
