Android is the operating system that powers over 1 billion smartphones and tablets. Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a dessert: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean. As everybody finds it difficult to stay away from chocolate we decided to name the next version of Android after one of our favorite chocolate treats, Kit Kat!

And because of this new tie up between Andoid and Kit Kat, Hershey’s USA and Android are going to be giving away Nexus 7, Google Play credits or that Andoid-shaped Kit Kat!

Let’s have a break, and chew down that Andoid-shaped Kit Kat!

Like other period and health calendars, its basic functions include a calendar where you can mark your period start and end dates, temperature, mood, weight and symptoms, to name a few, using cute icons. You can also add notes to each date. The calendar predicts your next period depending on previous data. It also has logs and charts. You can also password protect your calendar to keep other people from prying, and there’s also several ways to backup your calendar – by email, local storage, cloud storage or by Dropbox.

In case you wanted to see the other period and health calendars I’ve tried and the few differences they had, you can read my blog entry about it here.

A few nights ago I was experimenting with my CDR-King Android TV Box (MK 802) and screwed up a lot of things. While scouring the internet, I saw a lot of resources for reflashing it sans the CDR-King branding(because I cannot find a stock CDR-King firmware). While testing the stock OEM firmware I found its a lot better than default CDR-King one.

For flashing stock firmware here are some resources that I used.

from Liliputing

from Rikomagic

Here is a guide for flashing Clockworkmod Recovery and eventually Cyanogenmod 10.

Also I have installed Android Pilipinas’ favorite Android tweak.

I have not personally tried flashing CM 10 on my device but am planning to soon. Will post tests if ever I flash CM 10.

Recently, I discovered that there are otome games on Android and I’ve started playing this otoge called Shall we date?:Ninja Love. This game is one of the those Shall we date? series you’ll see around. They’re made by NTT Solmare for both android and iphone and is powered by GREE. So you would need to register for GREE before you’ll be able to play the game.

I have a longer post about this game at my blog, but if you prefer a less detailed post, you can read it on here, instead.

Ninja Love, like any other otoge, is 2D dating simulation game where you progress through the story like reading a visual novel. But unlike usual otoge, where the story line depends on the choices or decision you make when situations arise, in Ninja Love, you follow the same story line, only yor Love Meter will gain slower points.

There is also a character level, but it’s basically useless due to the fact that you level up just as the story progresses. You will, however, be limited with your progress because you need evergy for each chapter you read. You gain these by either waiting for X number of hours or buying rice balls from the store using in-game money or GREE coins (this is where the business begins). While going through the story, you will also be held back by checkpoints and this time, you need passports to go through. Rice balls are one thing, but checkpoints are really expensive if you would buy them using in-game money and there’s no way you’ll be able to buy all passports using in-game money by merely farming them. Basically, it’s a subtle way of saying, “buy GREE coins” to continue to play.

If you’re all into bishie and fan service and you’re okay with spending a bit to get it, the game is not that bad for an otoge.

With the Android strengthening as a platform, and the iPhone barely even changing form factors, there is no wonder why it’s an exciting period in the Android history. From Ice Cream Sandwich, we are now on the Jellybean era, and things are simply getting more exciting by the day: main brands are now playing the Quad-Core Android wars, while the entry-level brands are churning out dual-core devices by the numbers.

Cherry Mobile is out to corner the market on budget dual cores, and they’re doing so with a vengeance: it seems as if they release a brand-new rebranded whitebox Dual-Core Android every two weeks! In fact, if memory and excitement serves us right, they’ve even seemed to release one dual-core Smartphone after the other for the past two weeks!

It’s both exciting and crazy. And my Cherry Mobile Flame is starting to feel old and creaky, especially with the Cherry Mobile Titan TV out in the market.

Call it screen envy of sorts, the bottom line is that, my pocket and wish lists may resent Cherry Mobile, but there is only one way to view this period in Android History: It’s a revved-up, charged-up time for Androids!

And here I have a brief (if you call 1008 words “brief”) review of my Cherry Mobile Flame.
