Looking to play the role of a building manager? Then you’ll want to check out  Tiny Tower by Mobage.  I was unsure if I would like it due to its “bit” look but it definitely works. These “bitizens” or bit citizens live and work in the tiny tower.

The first floor of the tower is the lobby where your bitizens wait to be taken to their designated floors. The second floor is typically a residential floor so that bitizens can move into the tower. The residents pay rent and also work in the tower. They will remain unemployed until you hire them to stock a department such as my third level is a “sushi bar.”

I guess it’s the manager in me that wants to make sure that these bitizens are placed in the job that meet their qualifications so that they are “happy”. Each bitizen has stats or number series that indicates their desire to work in each department such as 9 in the creative department indicates they would prefer a job at a photo studio. The bitizens also have a dream job that if employed in you will receive a tower bux.  These tower buxs help you expedite time sensitive tasks or they can be sold in exchange for coin to purchase more tower floors. When purchasing a floor you’re asked to assign the floor to a department. Department levels consist of residential, food, service, recreation, retail, and creative.

From time to time you may have VIP visitors that knock “time” off your stock or increase business for a short period of time. Also if you help visiting bitizens find other residents then they often tip you tower bux for your time.

The game runs while your existed out but you must come back to restock your stores or you wont make any money while your gone. This is my latest find so I hope you guys will find it as fun as I do… till I’m on to the next one.

My journey started quite innocently enough. I had a pager for work, but I was tired of looking for a pay phone to call from. So I got a cell phone. It was big and heavy and expensive, and my was it also expensive to use! My first plan charged 50 cents a minute. No one called me on it. I still kept the pager and used the cell phone to return calls.

I worked my way through the technology advances and through the carriers. I remember being excited when I was able to order from Amazon on my Kyocera Sprint phone. I thought that was pretty smart. Then came the Treo 180; my first real smart phone with calling, text, email, and organizer, all in one. No more carrying my big leather Daytimer! There was a lot to love about that little monochrome device. I have been hooked ever since.

I spent a couple of generations with Palm Treo and eventually saw that the real action was over at Windows Mobile. I was frustrated with the technical support I was getting at Sprint. It seemed that in those days I often knew more about the phones than the support staff. Migrating from one platform and provider to the other took some work, but I was pretty happy with my Samsung slider and my new provider, Verizon. The first time I called tech support, a man told me that my problem was his problem and that he would work with me until it was resolved. Life was good.

I spent a few happy years with Verizon, but they were slow to get new phones. I was ready to upgrade my device, but there weren’t any phones available that were better than the phone I had. I started following phone forums to try to get word on release dates for “the next big thing.”

Then it happened, I came across and phone I wanted that was GSM. Verizon would never get it. Once again, I made the switch to a new carier. By then, we had number portability! No need to communicate the new number to the minions. My HTC Trinity and I were very happy together. It was my first phone without a keyboard and my first imported from abroad. I was giddy with the possibilities. For the first time in my cell phone history, I could buy the phone I liked and the carrier had no control over my selection. (Can you hear the angels singing?)

My next phone was an amazing device. The HTC Advantage was ahead of its time and was the best phone I had ever had for running my business. As I grew to use my phone more for data and less for talking, it was sheer perfection. Then a catastrophe occurred. It fell from desk height to the tile floor of my office. The screen didn’t break, but I was never able to keep the power on after the fall. It would be on for a while, but eventually I would check to see if I had any messages and it would be powered off. The best device on earth is no good if it won’t stay on.

I had my eye on the soon to be released Google Nexus One, but I couldn’t live without a phone while I waited, so I let AT&T sell me a Palm Treo. This was my last Windows Mobile device. To be fair to Windows, if they had released a Windows Phone in time, I might have stayed in that ecosystem. However, the new hotness was calling me and I didn’t want another phone with WM 6.5.

I had the Nexus One until the release of the next object of my lust was released. I caught a glimpse of the Dell Streak in January of 2010 and waited for the thing to be released. I was a long 9 months! While there were things about the Pure Google Experience I enjoyed on the Nexus One, I was delighted to return to my 5” screen. Everything I do on a phone is easier with a bigger screen.

And now I find myself reading the blogs and forums hoping to get a release date for my next phone. I could import a Galaxy Note from the UK, but the rumor mill has it launching (soon?) on AT&T with an LTE radio. We don’t have LTE in my city yet, but I imagine we will before I grow tired of the Note. And you know what? I am looking forward to the return of the stylus. I have never truly loved capacitive screens the way some people do. I prefer the ability to select finer objects than my fingertips allow, and I hate that I can’t use the phone while wearing gloves (yes, I know there are special gloves.) I miss using the corner of my fingernail to make selections on my resistive screen, and I HATE the fingerprints.

A smart phone is so integral to my life now that I shudder to think of returning to a world where I have to be at my computer to get email, at work to schedule appointments or at home to receive calls. I take more pictures than I ever have in my life, and I communicate with others more than ever. But more and more my conversations are text and Facebook, and less voice. (I use less than 200 minutes of voice a month.) If you tell me something on the phone, I can forget it, but if you send me a text or an email, I have a reminder. In my world, if it isn’t written down, it doesn’t exist.

In addition to being a technology enthusiast, I am a salon owner, food hobbyist and new grandmother. I live in the Seattle area with a husband and a dog. I am also an author. Recently I snatched up The Sims 3 app, by Electronic Arts Inc., from the 10 cent apps promo on the Android market. I don’t get on the market to shop as much as I used to, so this time I was thrilled with my find. I was surprised to see this app at such a discounted price. This app usually is priced at 6.99. My only real regret is that by the time I had some play time in it for review, I missed the opportunity to let you all in on that 10 cent deal.

In college I was an avid sims player and used to spend my down time glued to my desktop controlling these people’s lives. These days I am a bit more limited on time. Thankfully Sims is much more portable than my previous method of play so I was able to keep up with my tasks while doing things around my home that I don’t enjoy as much like putting away toys and folding laundry.

Excited about my good deal I was in a hurry to see how similar it was going to be to older versions, but I was a bit bummed with the huge content that had to be downloaded first. I guess this is to be expected , so after waiting patiently I was ready to control my sim. Of course I had to model my sim after me.. female, brunette, hazel/green eyes. After getting acclimated to the controls and house surroundings I hit the city to make some money.

My first job was at the Corsican Bistro where you can “eat-in” to satisfy hunger and buy recipes that you’ll need to cook meals at home; after purchasing a cheap stove. Your recipes will be useless unless you remember to go to shop for some ingredients at the Quickmart. If you enjoy fishing go to the Hobby Shop and pick up a fishing kit to contribute to recipe ingredients;however, If a friend asks for your fishing kit, don’t gift it. It will take a while to build the funds back to repurchase this kit.

 Your Sim has needs that have to be met in order for it to remain pleasant while socializing with other sims. Building relationships takes a while so keep that in mind when you visit a friend’s house. If your relationship isn’t established you make “freak them out” if you use their restroom. There is a car dealership, but that takes some serious cash so for now its foot patrol for me.

Your sim has wishes or active goals that you are working toward to complete. Some of these goals are relatively short-term and others not so much. You can cue up multiple tasks if you prefer that play better and remember to save your progress if you don’t like repeating actions when you come back to it later. It does auto save, but it’s not perfect.

I’m sure I’ll continue to find out more things to do in my Sim city, but exploring it for yourself is half the fun. Do you get lost in the Sims world too or know how to get rich quick? Because we want to know!

Well one of my most favorite Developers has done it again! DroidHen has brought out a new game called Defender. I played this today for the first time, and I love it! Well, as you know I love all his games. They are great fun! This one is about little monsters invading a castle that you need to protect. These little buggers are quick! So you need to be faster than they are!

Those little monsters will stop at nothing from gaining entrance into the castle. So you need to employ whatever resources you have to stop them. Those include fire balls, lightning strikes, glacial spikes, meteors, thunderstorms, etc. In order to get those much-needed items, you must have the coins to update your arsenal. The more monsters you destroy, the more coins you get.  Now when you get to Level 10, you have a problem. The main monster guy comes in and is super intent on invading your castle. He’s strong and will stop at nothing! So be prepared!

Now you see those three rings at the bottom. Those are where you access the before mentioned lightning strikes, fireballs and etc. You have to make sure you have enough mana or it will not work. To get more mana, you can use your magic crystals to retrieve them.  If you don’t have enough crystals, then you are out of luck and will  lose the battle.  It’s a fun  and challenging game. I have fun with it and am determined to get past level 10.

Well, Thanksgiving is over and now it is time to start thinking of Christmas.  There is no better way to start getting into the spirit than dressing your Andy up. I’ve come across a very pretty Live Wallpaper. It’s called Christmas Tree Live and it’s by 1473labs. I installed it on my tablet, and boy oh boy is it gorgeous!

This wallpaper will most certainly get you into the Christmas spirit with it’s beautiful trees! In this version you will have three trees. They are Standard,Happy and Frozen. You get to customize them a little too. For instance, the lights. They can be multi-colored,white,red,yellow,green,or blue. You can choose what shape they are; mixed,star,square,or circle . You can even set their effects to fast blinking,slow blinking,or fade in fade out. Really neat huh?

You can add sparkling effects as well. Set them to white, golden, yellow stars, puff and glow stars.  I absolutely love these! You can set them the same way as you did your lights. You can also choose to see or hide top of your tree with the Notification bar offset. Now to make this beautiful wallpaper complete, add in some snow! Also, set it to a little snow, normal amount of snow, or lots of snow. Make the snow fall slow, normal or fast. I like the normal amount of snow, falling fast. Very Christmasy!

Now this Free version is in the Android Market. There is also a Paid version that costs 99 cents. That one, you can actually do more to your tree. Make it very personal and very you.

Who likes movies such as Gladiator and 300?  I’ve seen Gladiator several times, and only a few parts of 300. Why am I asking this? Well I came across a game that so reminds me of those movies! This game is just too cool and I love the graphics! I love the days of the old, and so I am drawn to anything that resembles it.

This game you have two muscle-bound guys squaring off on each other. Your character looks like a spartan and is in some arena preparing for a battle with this huge guy! I mean this guy totally towers over you,so you better be careful!!  You are equipped with sword and shield in the beginning. The game will take you upon a tutorial tournament and show you the ropes. It is so neat to see and hear people cheering from the balconies as you defeat your opponent.

As you win more victories,you will get more coins from every tournament you win. With those coins you can buy new equipment,like stronger shields,sharper swords, and better helmets. You will have access to different potions for health, attack and block. There are some neat combos to help defeat your enemy as well as very special attacks.

I love this app, and am having great fun in playing the game. I also like how this isn’t just a tap-tap game. It kind of gets you involved with it, and to me that makes a difference. Now, this is from Glu, so you know it has some in store buying. You also know with their previous games, this one is going to treat you well! So far, so good.

I have bowled in leagues before and am married to a long time league bowler.  So, I’m always looking for bowling games and decided to try 3D Bowling from Italy Games.

There are five different types of lanes to try out from a regular bowling alley to a street scene. Each one of the lanes have different set of bowling balls to choose from. It’s a easy game to play with just swiping your finger to throw the ball down the lane. If you are looking for a simple game of bowling without many features, this is for you.

If you are looking for a 3D game for your 3D phone, sorry to say that this is not one.  Just the basic effects that you can see in the screenshots from my EVO 3D.

One of the good points about this game is that the only ads in it, are for other games. Which are not by the same developers, but they all look pretty friendly for kids. There’s also an online leaderboard to compare your stores with others.

I recently came across a really cool driving app that I believe it will come in handy during the holidays. This little thing does everything! It’s the neatest driving app I’ve come across! It’s called iOnRoad and it’s by Picitup.

What this totally cool app does is warn you of possible accidents. For this to work right,you need a windshield mount for your phone. This will serve as GPS, so it can safely navigate you to your destination. It has the neatest menu. It shows current temp and how fast the wind is blowing. Compass shows the direction you are going. If you need to quickly call someone,you can push the phone key. That will take you to  your contacts so you can see who you need to call. It has a music key, to play all your music you have stored via SD card or cloud.

Now I mentioned a warning of possible accidents right? This will show you just how many seconds the car in front of you is, from you.  Say it looks far, but in reality it may be just a scant 2 seconds away from you. It will highlight the distance in three colors. Green means you’re at a safe distance. Yellow means  you need to be careful and watch your speed. Of course I am sure you know that Red means you are in danger of crashing into the car in front of you. When you reach the Yellow  Careful area, an alarm will beep to alert you . When you hit the Red danger zone, a different alarm will sound off as well, that way you  don’t have to constantly look at the app.

Now you still have to watch how you drive and how others drive. This app will just help assist you in avoiding dangerous fender benders.
