I've been working on some children's books for HarperCollins using DC characters! This is the cover to my first book which is still in progress due out for a 2012 release! I love working on this stuff and the different format from standard comic books. It also gives me a chance to work in a simpler style which is also very challenging and fun as well!

The Phantom!

I'm a huge fan of the Phantom! The closet I have gotten to drawing him professionally is a cover for Moonstone's Phantom back in 2008. I liked what I did then but if I had the chance to do it over this is more of what he would look like. Sy Barry rules as the best Phantom artist ever! Then Don Newton! ;)

I'm a huge Green Lantern fan, if you know me you know that! ;) So in some down time I had I thought I'd work up a pin-up of the main man in his new costume! Also I wanted to experiment with some more linear rendering as well. Which I had fun doing and might just do more of!

Here are the pencils I did for the JSA 80 Pg Giant that just came out. The only revision I had to make was to not make Jessie's shirt so tight by adding a line under her breasts and erasing out the center line of them. Keith Champagne inked this job and hit a home run on it!

World's Finest Digital Painting

So between projects I always like to keep myself busy. This time I wanted to do a full digital painting and what I mean by that is not just a figure with no background. I've done a few of those just as experiments but never one with a full scene until now! I'm pretty happy with it and know I still have a lot to learn about digital painting but that's what more practice is for!

X-men Forever 15 pencils!

With the second issue of my work out I thought I'd post up some of the pencils. I had a great time working on X-men Forever and working with Chris Claremont was a dream come true of mine! Check that off the bucket list! On an art related note some of the pages in the book were actually colored and printed from my pencils due to deadline concerns and Cory Hamscher didn't get to ink all the pages that were inked, Sandu Florea stepped in and helped out on a few pages.

The book is out and now I can post pencils from it! I'm very happy with the way the inking and coloring came out on this project and can't wait for 15 to hit the stands next week!

World's Finest Breakdowns

This is my breakdowns (not full pencils) for an inker to finish over. That is to do their own lighting and rendering style over top of my layout/drawing. I actually love doing this part of the work. It's just so fun to figure out the layout and drawing. Doing the lighting and rendering is fun for me too but I like this part better.

I'm a huge Tarzan fan so when asked to participate I asked for a theme in that nature.
Spinning to Infinity is a web-site that is launching soon! Horizontal tabloid format. Every week is a new one-page done in one story in a different genre and drawn by a different artist. Slowly a connection between all these self contained stories develops and a universe develops. All strips are written by Steve Horton.

Well WWE Heroes 1-6 is a wrap on my end! Unfortunately due to time constraint issues you might have noticed in issue 4 towards the end I just did pencils and we got an inker. Issue 5 was me just doing full pencils and in issue 6 (the pages above are from issue 6) I did tight breakdowns. Not quite full pencils and not as loose as normal breakdowns.
