OAKLAND, Calif. —

A SWAT team surrounded an Oakland home early Sunday morning where officers believed a homicide suspect was hiding, according to Oakland Police.
A blue alert search for a dangerous suspect began at about 1:25 a.m., and officers set a perimeter in the 1400 block of 25th Avenue, Officer J. Moore said
The standoff began after two men pulled up to highland hospital, bleeding from gunshot wounds.
One of them had been shot in the neck and he died from his injuries.
As of 8 a.m., dozens of officers were positioned around the home and were waiting to make contact with the suspect, police said.
Sometime before 9 a.m., SWAT officers were recorded escorting a man in cuffs to nearby vehicle, but officers on scene would not confirm if it was the suspect.
No additional details about the search, or the suspect, were immediately available.

It's been a long time since I got a breather. My life has been so complicated lately that I've been going insane. Sometimes in life I guess you have your ups and your downs. These past few weeks have truly tested me to the maximum. I don't want to get into detail but just know that Andy is okay! Anyways with that aside and left in the past, today was a beautiful day. Around 70 degrees me and Joycelyn have been planning a photoshoot for awhile but haven't had time to actually go through with it. You know how some plans go, you put it off to the side. Today we just did it, spontaneously. Our dedicated photographer was Thy-Thy. I want to thank her for helping us take pictures. It's kind of fun being the instructor on how to use a camera. She killed it though, once she got her hands on the camera she just went to work with us. After doing our photo shoot we took a trip to stoneridge to check out the "Archie's Girls" Mac make up event. Joycelyn loves make-up. She was so excited to be there, it was happy to see her happy with all of the other caked out girls. Now that we're home i've just been touching up photos and doing homework. I haven't posted a legitimate post on blogger in some time but there will be bigger and better events coming your way! Sincerely, ATP.

Homeless man in Oakland

This video is about a man I always see on my way home from work. Mark Mankety been at this particular location since 2011. He's has been affected by the recession that started in 2007. He is 62 years old and lives along side of the freeway of 580 in Oakland, California. Mark manages to buy meals and walk around locally and is in desperate need of help. This has been a pending project that I've finally gotten to finish. Shoutouts to one of my buddies from high school that I reconnected with to shoot this video Dara So. Cheers to a new year, happy 2013 everyone.

Finals Aftermath

Everyones off because finals is finally over! Everyone deserves a pat on the back, we've survived another quarter/semester. Even though the quarter is over I still have to go to work. I'm not to enthusiastic about going to work but I love learning. One way work benefits me is by teaching me something new almost every time I go in. That's something that i'll pick over money any day. With that said my "work" looks more like "school" to me. I'm extremely grateful to have my job, considering the economy right now. Today at work I had to go to certain class rooms that run this lecture capture software called Panopto. I had to troubleshoot and run updates today. If you've already glanced through my photo's you're probably wondering "why is he taking pictures at work?" This assignment documented that I had to get pictures of the hardware within the classrooms, so I snapped a couple on the side. The pictures i'm going to provide today present the aftermath of finals, exile.

After I got a little editing done I decided to take some pictures. Joycelyn brought out her make up to practice so I brought out my camera to practice. Everyone knows that practice makes perfect and I stand by that. Today I was listening to random podcasts as I usually do. There was something that stuck with me throughout the day. It was a experiment on a design assignment. Half of the students were divided by two assignments. One group would bring a new design everyday to class, and the other half would work on one design for the whole week. To sum it all up the speaker said "the one's who worked on new designs everyday improved through constantly coming up with new ideas." I guess you can approach it that way if that suits your fancy. In that subject I feel like i'm a hybrid learner. Once you give me content or material to learn, i'll spend the time on my own to figure it out. Thus getting better at it. I would say it's ambition to a extent.

Christmas in the park, San Jose

Today was our first time going to Christmas in the park in San Jose. I was curious to see what all the hype was about. Overall it is what the title proclaims it to be. What kind of surprised me was that I didn't feel the "Christmas Spirit" at this location. The dolls and puppets on the corner kind of turned me off. If you're gonna do Christmas, you shouldn't scare the kids away! We caught Rudolph the reindeer and Santa Claus walking around. I don't know why he was walking, he is supposed to be slaving it out in China making presents for the kiddies.

East Coast

If you didn't know, the east coast is going through devastating times right now. Take 15 minutes out of your life to watch this video and to prepare yourself and your families of what may be coming to the west coast. I'm not saying that because I can predict the weather, but we're as close to the water as new york was. I've been so caught up in my own little world. I was in shock when watching this video with Joycelyn. Take a moment to be grateful for what you have now. You'll never know when life will be stripped away from you. Prayers out to the east coast.

The product of hard work and dedication. I've heard every now and then Damian popping up in conversations because he went to Oakland High. I never got the chance to actually sit down and watch his work. When I was watching highlights of him i've noticed that he's always concentrated, very humble, and knows how to work with his teammates. I've come upon this video posted by the Portland Trailblazers. It's a very inspirational video. If I had the chance to speak to him I would tell him to keep up the good work. "I always felt like I had the chance to make it, and the way I work, and how much I believe in myself, I knew that would give me a chance." This quote from him reflects my life as of today, and Damian I salute. Best of luck to you and your future.
