Ang Sining ni Ineng

Hey! Look at the Sun!

Dull pale painted walls are our most common anxiety. Our question is how to turn these pale walls into an exuberant and elegant one.

My answer would always be the magic of mirrors.

One of my favorite is the Sunburst Mirror.

The origins of this classic form was trace during the middle ages down to a French design guru.

Ethan Allen Sunburst Mirror

Monstrance is from the Latin word Monstrare “ to show”, is a liturgical object commonly used in the Roman Catholic church for centuries. A monstrance is a crystal container encrusted with gold or silver it is often where the communion wafer is displayed.

It was in the 17th Century that the crystal container was made with bursting rays of metal which imitates the sun. The bursting rays of suns are a visual representation of Christ as the light of the world.

When the church buildings were renovated and even sometimes destroyed, this gilded sunburst made their way to be in the homes of everyone.

Often the mirror plate was replaced with devotional images.

It was in 1940s in France that Gilbert Poillerat designed a simple forged iron sunburst mirror. It was a creative move that mesmerized the design enthusiast and patrons. A religious symbol that turned dull walls to vibrants ones.

Farewell Lola ina.....

Tears rolled down to my cheeks as I have heard that Lola Ina was gone. I would always remember our summer days when school is finally over she would pay her grandsons a visit in our neighborhood coming from Pangasinan down here in Pampanga.
My childhood friends were her grandsons and I thought up to this time if I would call them just friends, because they are not just my friends but my family.
Lola Ina , she let me experience how it is to have a Lola. She used to cook one of our favorite snack "Champorado" using wheat.
I would definitely miss her sweet smile and hugs. How I admire her when she is pouring her heart in raising her hands in worshipping in church. We love you Lola Ina.

Thrift Shops.... Anyone?

2010-04-26T02:06:00.000-07:00

Thrift Shops the name which was known in the West side of the globe.

But here in the Philippines we often call them “Ukay-Ukay”.
Ukay – a slang word for Halungkatin which means to search roughly.

People were used to see shops with bits of everything from clothes to toys. And it feels great to find something that would stand out from the rest with an strenuous effort of searching.

If you are fond of looking into thrift shops which is very economical Yahoo suggested some places here in the Metro .

Turquoise, an inviting, luminous hue, as the color of the year for 2010.

Pantone the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, announced PANTONE 15-5519

First Words...

2010-04-24T08:42:00.000-07:00

SINING - our very own Filipino word for Art. I was asking myself " Am I ready to tell the world and impart to them on how I see it."
Being an artist we communicate "visually" and knock at the door of our society to show them their reflections( at least done artistically).

Everything is written by the same Hand. The alchemist - Paulo Coelho

It's the same Hand that formed our fragile body from dust and gives our hands the talent and ability. Kudos! My Best of all Friends. This is all for you and about you.

First blog

To blog or not to blog. I was battling over to take the first few step. I am currently reading a book of Paulo Coelho entitled "The winner stand alone" and I was struck with on the what I have read....

" Talent is a universal gift, but it takes a lot of courage to use it." - Paulo Coelho

Then I could say I took the courage. This is it!

I could relate to the painting of Cornelius Acasio's "First Step"
I bet this man took the first step, first brush strokes, and dare to show the world his idea and talent.

And MADE ( Metrobank Art and Design Excellence) recognize his talent by taking home the beacon.

Budding or full grown as an artist let us take the courage to use our talents.

MADE 2010 is now calling for entries.

So get that canvass and reflect to the world on how we see it.
