William W. Louie Receives a Congressional Gold Medal

He recently was awarded a Congressional Gold Medal for his service in World War II as part of the Chinese American WWII Veterans Recognition Project. William W. Louie served with the 354th Fighter Group. The virtual presentation premiered Saturday, April 3, 2021. Thank you to everyone who has to come to this blog to learn about the 354th Fighter Group. This will be my final entry.

I just finished posting all the 170 images of the 354th's famous and hard to find book, HISTORY IN THE SKY. It was made shortly after the war. It is sometimes available on ebay. This is a version on microfilm that I received from the USAAF archives and paid to have transferred. I hope people will find and enjoy it online.

On that page I have over 1800 additional documents posted that I received from the USAAF archives. There are flight reports, mission reports, histories, etc. All related to the 354th Fighter Group.
