Breakfast with the family, sharing 2 plates of wanton noodles. I can barely finish mine, but both the lady and the boy can barely get enough.

There are 2 cups of ice-teh-si, which happens to be the right drink for the scorching morning.

Lots to think about over the weekend,

but I like how this is starting.

His mummy just spent the good part of the evening finding a solution to his skin problems. She's been worried sick about how this new allergy's been wreaking havok on the little boy's skin. The battle with David's allergies looking to be a neverending one. Just trying to find the cause of it is an exercise in frustration. All we can do now is pray for the best. And that the little boy doesn't get too upset by the rashes.

Hives- A Major Confusion

I was happily updating my facebook account regarding David's eczema and reporting that all is well.
( At least, he was "spotless" for the past one month plus.)

Then, the hideous spots start to rear its ugly head again.

It started with a spot on his face and seemingly having a life of its own, it spread to his arms and legs. By mid afternoon, when he woke up from his stroller, he looked like he had measles.

That ended our beautiful plans to spend a day at Sentosa. Sigh...

We went to see Doctor Ko, who suspected that it might be a case of mite bites from the stroller. "The spots are all on the exposed areas." He concluded. I thought he had a point then. Boy, are we bushed. We spent the whole afternoon washing and steam ironing all the items that he has been using.

He recovered two days later with the help of Desowen, a hydrocortisone cream.

We thought the worst was over. The mites should be killed now. But NOOOO....

IT WAS NOT A CASE OF MITES...

Oh great ! After $200 later, then we realised that wasn't a case of mites.

I found out one evening when I brought David out to the Giant Supermarket. It was in a different stroller. (One that was kept at my parents' house and we were very sure that there wasn't any mites on it. )

After half an hour later, I saw it "pop, pop,pop". Out it comes, red, ugly and looking very itchy. The little boy was in good spirits though.

He was still smiling away with his spotty red face. ( Aww... The brave boy.)

So in the end, we concluded that he may be allergic to something in the air. With the thickening haze, we can never be sure.

He's Becoming a Little Gentleman

David is finally turning 1 and I think he is really glad.

It isn't easy getting him into this suit as he is a really wriggly boy. We are glad for the results. A gentleman at last. :)

These days we are trying to help little David learn some table manners.

He is starting to put his foot on the table when we are eating. In the dining areas, he loves what we are eating and is not afraid to "verbally and physically" ask for it. (He will flap his arms and legs and creating such an earthquake that we are afraid that the Combi will give way.)

It's a process but David does have a habit of smiling cheekily to get away with things. I wonder where he learns it from. :P

My first post in Couplehood

[This edition of Couplehood is a guest post, by the mostly silent Angela. It's her first time! She'll be writing more often now as I work on other projects. Oh yeah, we're back, and thanks for waiting ~ Adrian.]

I feel like flying.

Yups, that's how it feels like after being back when I was almost cut off from the world for nearly 11 months. It's been a great 11 months watching the little one grow up (and I do not mean my hubs). But yes... and thank you, dear,for being such a supportive husband.

The lil' one has been great. He has learnt how to say "Ma...Ma... Ma" and " Da... Da..." with an occasional " hello" .(Where did that come from??) But of course, his favourite word is "Mum..Mum". He loves to eat, the boy... Not difficult to see after he gorged down half a Char Siew Bao right after his bowl of porridge. I think it's a Koh family thing.

But on another note, I would like to thank those people who have been very supportive during this period of time when I am a new mum. My parents, who have tirelessly driven me back everytime I visit, Sis Janice and P. Sng for all the advice and helplines, Fuhui, who frequently checks on whether I am alright, Guimei and hubby for all the help they have rendered, Shuyi, for the thoughtful company, the Auyongs for all the food, fun and laughter and all the friends who have rendered help and company whenever they can despite their busy schedule. Thanks Guys.....

No, not out of Singapore. The wife and I have not gone on holiday since the boy was born (apart from two work trips). In fact, the closest thing we've had to traveling overseas was crossing the Benjamin Sheares Bridge.

I'm just swamped. Utterly. Need time to rest and be with the family every chance I get, so I won't be online writing so much. Didn't help that I had to deal with obnoxious people over the week, but I'm glad that's over.

And, of course, it was good to be over at the Auyong's. Loved the soup, the fun and most of all, the company. You guys are awesome.
