Weekend - Thrifting & Bowling

This past weekend (I need to learn to post these sooner) I visited my hometown. It was a nice break. Hung out with a good friend, went thrifting and black light bowling!

Aren't these salf and pepper shakers so cute? I like the ginger bread couple.

Almost ended up getting this plant pot. I kinda wanted to paint it something funky but then I remembered how many things I have around the apartment that still needs painting.

Almost got this too but the other side of the mug was in bad condition.

Nothing was really open Sunday night, except the movies (but you know, I've seen almost everything) So we went black light bowling. It was so packed but it was good times.

That's me bowling like a champ.

Had to take a picture of Tania's dinner. The chips looked to cool.

My favourite thing about going bowling are the shoes. I hope one day I find a pair.

Photo an hour - February 23th

It's my first Photo an hour post! (Yay) I've been trying to do one of these for the longest time but I always forget. Anyways this is what I did yesterday...

8AM

Start my day off with a walk around the block with Cap. Then I shower and eat some breakfast.

9AM

I relax a bit and finish watching 'But I'm a Cheerleader' on Netflix.

10AM

I bought some window sticky things over the weekend and decide to put them up now. Then I sweep a little too.

11AM

Check my email and catch up on some blogs while I have a little snack.

12PM

I get some dishes done and clean a bit more around the apartment.

1PM

I start making my galaxy shirt and play with Captain while I wait for the first side to dry.

2PM

Pogo's for lunch while I watch 'Family Guy'. Yum. And some more playing around with Cap.

3PM

Start a little sewing project while I watch 'Stand by Me'.

4PM

I decide I really like how the shirt turned out so I lay out some more fabric. Then I watch 'Hatchi' while the fabric dries.

5PM

I take Cap out for his long walk of the day and have some avocado when I get back home.

6-7PM

I keep sewing some more while I watch 'The Countess' and have some dumplings for dinner around 7.

After that I put some 'Family Guy' on and edit photos for the rest of the night. I know I have such an exciting life.

Nail Art 26: Teeth

Sorry for the not-so-good picture quality for these ones. I took these at my old job, (these nails are a few months old) using the lights instead of using the natural light from my window like I usually do. So I just took a lot of pictures, hoping at lease one or two would be good enough. I like teeth.

The teeth were supposed to be soild white but the new top coat made it all crackly. I thought it looked kinda cool so I left them. The teeth on my right hand ended up looking so bad!

Weekend of Painting stuff

Last weekend (I wanted to post there sooner but I never found the time.) I decided to paint some of my 4x6 frames and hang up some of my artwork finally.

And there they are hanging on 'my' wall. Not really my wall, I can hang them wherever I want but this wall and the other wall (see those photos in the back? That's my 'photography wall') are just little areas that I can do and put up whatever I want. I want to get another shelf and obviously put up some more stuff.

While I was painting my frames, Justin was painting his old little book shelf. Since Most of our stuff is black... except my red table and the wall shelves are dark brown.

And there is the after photo. Yes we collect figurines, mostly superhero ones. I don't like my nesting dolls there, I want them high up on their own shelf one day.

Have you ever re-painted an old shelf or table? I think it's fun.

This weekend we're just chilling.

What's in my bag (Winter)

I thought now would be a good time as any to do the whole 'what's-in-my-bag post' since it's slowly getting warmer and the snow is melting so quickly. Im always surprised to see how much crap I carry in my bag.

Can you tell I had to take these pictures with flash? (I hate using flash, especially for digital photos) That's what happens when you come home later every day... no sun. :[

1.) My Forever21 bag. The strap broke, actually the metal clamp on my strap broke. So I went into the store a week later and they happily gave me another bag. But this new bag's zipper broke the next day...and then the strap broke again. Same spot too. I've never had this happen before so I've decided to never buy bags from them again. They look pretty but cheaply made.
2.) My favourite winter hat. I got it from Etsy last winter.
3.) My Juice Box camera. Even though it's been dark lately I still keep a film camera on me... just in case.
4.) I got used to keeping my glasses in my bag. Even my fake nerdy ones I wear for fun sometimes.
5.) Some perfume and chapstick.
6.) Hello Kitty candies. My hand and face creams for those super dry winter days.
7.) Gum, for when I eat out.
8.) My iPod shuffle with my blue gummy bear ear buds. We'll see how long these last, My headphones never last more than a few months.
9.) Keys.
10.) My eReader I got for Christmas.
11.) My new wallet, also a Christmas present.
12.) I always have some random necklaces in my bag, sometimes I end up taking them off half way through the day. Or sometimes Im so busy in the morning that I put them in my bag to put on when I get to work.
13.) My Nightmare before Christmas gloves. These were actually a present for Justin but he already has a pair of superman ones.
14.) Hair stuff. I usually have a few hair clips, bows and ties in my bag, just in case.
15.) And finally, My little sketchbook that I used to write down notes to myself. My USB key and my cell phone.

What do you keep in your bag? Anything weird... like socks?

Not too long ago Redbubble made iPhone and iPod cases available. I finally got around to making some iPhone cases available in my Redbubble Store. And I think they look freakin' awesome! (Now I really wish I had an iPhone) So I wanted to share a few of them with you. If people like them enough I'll go back and make iPhone cases available for some of my older works too. :]

Movies of January Review

The Devil Inside

We started off the new year with a horror movie! I love horror movies, its maybe something to do with not really knowing what's going to happen next. Unlike most movies today, I can pretty much guess the next move or who the 'bad guys is'. Which sucks because I don't want to know, I want to enjoy the movie! Anyways this one was pretty good. Some nice effects, but I hated the ending. I knew it was coming and I won't ruin it for you but I hate when they end movies like that. Overall I enjoyed this movie though, not the best horror movie but a good start to 2012. :]

The Adventures of Tintin

I grew up watching the cartoon so I had to go see this. It was pretty good, not amazing but a good movie to go see. There's a lot of action going on in this movie but at the same time it felt a bit slow. One thing that bugged me was that their heads felt like they were just a bit too big for their bodies.

The Iron Lady

I went into this movie thinking it would be like Edgar. (which I didn't really like) But it was actually better, they did such a good job on aging her. If you see this movie just look at her neck in some of the shots...wow. The acting was really good, just like in Edgar but this movie actually kept my attention even though it was pretty late. I probably wouldn't go see this again though.

A Dangerous Method

I liked this movie, but I don't really have much to say about it. The acting was good. I wasn't amazed by this movie but it wasn't horrible. It was just a good movie, but not something I would own. A very serious movie, probably not a good idea to watch it really late after a long day at work.

Beauty and the Beast 3D

Im not a huge fan of 3D movies. I actually really dislike movies that were made for 3D, just to be played in 3D. I went to go see this because it is one of my (and Justin's) favourite Disney movies. We went on the first Tuesday (cheap night) after it had come out and there were maybe 8 other people in the theatre with us. Which is pretty sad, I pictured that the theatre would be full and everyone would be singing along to the songs. Instead we just quietly sang to ourselves. After seeing my first Disney movie in 3D, I'd have to say... I wasn't impressed. The 3D just brings out all the little imperfections that would have gone unnoticed if you were watching it normally. (Belle's hands shrunk and grew a lot) All the beauty shots obviously looked great in 3D. I would recommend seeing other Disney movies in 3D, only if it was your favourite (or if you really want to support Disney). The 3D part doesn't make the movie any better.

Haywire

We went into this one thinking it would be awesome. Com'on finghting movies are always great. Plus female lead...but really this wasn't that good. The acting was just barely passable... the only thing that saved this movie for me was the awesome fight scenes. (I went with three other guys and they all hated this movie) I mean the fights looked so real! Not the regular over the top 'pow' sounds you here when someone gets punched in other movies. So if you're looking for something a bit different, something a bit more real...

Underworld Awakening

I really enjoyed this movie. They did a great job in this one, the werewolves looked kind of bad, wish they put more work into them but there were a lot of cool action shots. Obviously if you're a fan of the Underworld movies and follow them, you should go see this one. The one dude's transformation was pretty badass.

The Grey

Awesome! So awesome. If you know me, you know I love wolves. So obviously I mainly went for that part. Really good movie, Great acting...I don't know what else to say. Everyone in the theatre was actually quiet when the serious scenes came on. The one thing I didn't like, (and I already knew it was going to happen) was how the wolves were 'evil' in this movie. They were also very big. I mean wolves get big but...these ones were huge. And there's a lot of other little things that wolves normally don't do but to make this movie what it is.. well, they had to bend the rules a bit right? Everytime you see a close up of a wolf, they looked to cool!
