This bottom image is a close up of a three stranded choker. It was hard to get a good image of the whole since it doesn't lay like a regular necklace, but this shows how it would look laying flat against the throat.

At Last!

Finally! I was able to go to the bead store the other night and I found some great beads in her discontinued bin. I’ve become quite inspired. For the past two evenings I’ve been able to get back to my passion. And, boy, has it taken over rather rapidly.

For so many weeks I’ve been unable to bead either because of family duties or lack of the proper beads. Now that I’ve got new stuff the passion is back. I started by making black and blue bracelets for my nephew. He’s 11 and asked if I could make him a bracelet. I said sure and asked what colors he wanted. Black and blue was the answer, no silver just black and blue. So I had to do some searching for manly beads in the proper colors. I think they turned out well. He hasn’t seen them yet so I’m not sure how he will like them.

Then, last night I was up until 2:00 in the morning painstakingly threading seed beads onto stretch cord. I finished 2 bracelets, 1 ankle bracelet and 2 necklaces. They turned out nice if I do say so myself. I hope to add pictures of them soon so you can see them. I found some great stone beads that are a pale green crystal. They look great all made up.

Now that I’ve started again it seems that’s all I think about. I just can’t wait to get home from work so I can create!

Whine, Whine Go Away!

I feel so depressed today. I haven't been able to bead for 4 days in a row and it's killing me! My great aunt has needed someone to stay with her 24/7 while her housemate is in the hospital for a hip replacement so my entire family (all 4 of us) have been taking turns staying with her in shifts. Between work and Aunt Mabel there just hasn't been time to sit down and create. I have been commissioned to make 4 necklaces and another set of bracelets which have my fingers itching to get started. And, now my 11 year old nephew wants to know if I'll make a "guy" bracelet for him. I said sure. I'm actually kind of excited to try my hand at some masculine jewelry. I have ideas flying around in my head for that as well, but can't do anything about it for at least a couple more days. Bummer! Maybe by the next time I post I'll have new bracelets and necklaces to boast about instead of whinning. Thanks for letting me vent. ;-)

Well, I discovered this morning just how passionate I've become about my jewelry making. This morning I found myself getting ready for work in record time (a very unusual event I promise you). I've had my beads out for over a week now. Since I don't have a special room for my crafts they just sit in my living room. This became a problem this morning as I found myself sitting down to figure out which ones I wanted to wear this morning and began to bead a new one! This I did not have time for. I had to force myself to be satisfied with ones I had made previously. Wow! I just wanted to stay home and bead and be creative all day. What a bummer to actually have to come to work! However, work is how I'm currently paying for my passion/addiction so therefore staying home is not an option. I keep telling April (my sister) that I need to find a sugar daddy so I can stay home and fulfill all my creative desires without having to worry about how the bills are going to get paid. So far though I can't find a boyfriend let alone a sugar daddy. Oh, well. I digress. Needless to say I wish beading were my full time job instead of my current position. But, maybe someday that will change. I still have hope. Enjoy your day everyone. And thanks for stopping by.

In the Begining... there were beads

I'm really excited to have this opportunity to share my latest passion with all of you. For the past couple of years, I have found my creative outlet in beading. It started with earrings and quickly progressed to my favorite piece of jewelry, bracelets.

I've come to realize something about myself. I need to be able to be creative and have something to show for my work instantaneously. I find that beading is creative and quickly gratifying. I hope to be able to show you some of the beautiful things I've been able to create. Let me know what you think.

Since this site is just begining, the only photo I have at the moment is the one below. These bracelets include Pink Stone Hearts with Sterling Silver tubes. They're strung on stretchy cord for convenience and great fit. My sister commissioned these to be made for her own personal use and is now one of my walking billboards. I find this the best kind of advertising. Be sure to check out my store so you too can become one of my walking billboards. I'll also be listing in ebay, so I'll keep you posted.
