After a hiatus in the spring and summer, AASP is back to (some of) it’s old tricks! While the program is smaller and the rules are a little different this year, the staff are hard at work finding innovative ways to keep AASP full of fun, joy, and even some learning.

What to expect from AASP in the 2020-2021 school year

We’ve all faced a new, strange, and often scary reality in the past several months. School and child care, like so many other elements of our daily lives, continue to be deeply impacted by COVID-19 and current events. As a result, the Angier After School Program looks different this year but we are learning to adapt and make the most of of new circumstances!

Below are details to help you understand some of the changes in place to keep your children happy and healthy at AASP. However, please understand that we continue to get new information and guidance from the state and the district, and everything is still subject to changes which may be beyond our control.

AASP is open 12:30-6pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. AASP is not operating on Wednesdays. Children are enrolled at AASP on the same days that they are already at Angier for in-person learning (per NPS policy).
Students and staff will follow NPS guidelines and wear masks at all times in the building and on the playground. Children can remove masks to eat or drink, and while outside on the field while physical distancing is being practiced.
We are eating lunch and snack outside whenever the weather allows. We plan to spend lots of time outside regardless of the weather (rain, snow, or shine!) so long as it is safe to do so, so please send layers!

We do have space on Mondays and Tuesdays for students in the A cohort! If you are not currently enrolled, and interested in signing up, please contact us at info@angierafterschool.com for more information. Unfortunately our Thursday/Friday enrollment is full at this time, but please contact us to learn about our wait list.

AASP at Home is coming to a close!

As this very strange school year wraps up, the AASP staff want to express our gratitude for all the children and families who joined us for the very new and unusual experience of AASP at Home. We miss you all dearly and look forward to a time when we can all be safely together again.

To our 5th graders who missed out on so much, we wish you the best and hope you’ll stay in touch!

AASP at Home!

The AASP teachers are missing our after school friends while we all practice social distancing from home. We’ve started a new series we’re calling “AASP at Home” so you can follow along with your favorite AASP teachers while we teach fun projects from our homes! The projects are all available on our Facebook and YouTube pages. We hope you enjoy these activities! Feel free to leave feedback or pictures of finished projects in the comments.

Priority based enrollment for the 20-21 school year is now closed. You can still apply, but new applications will be placed directly on our Wait List. See the Enrollment page for more details.
