What Is The Tea Cube Podcast?

2013-10-29T07:38:00.000-07:00

So for the last 3 weeks I've been posting some mixes up here on my blog. I thought I'd take a minute to explain exactly what this is.

Every week I plan to post up a different mix of a different genre of music, until eventually I get a rotation. This will help expose music of different genres to those who maybe only listen to say.. dubstep? then the next week they hear some drum and bass and think "wow that's actually quite cool".

Also I intend to feature tracks from lesser known artists and also feature mixes from other DJs to help gain them some exposure too. I have already featured a guest DJ on episode 2, and on episode 3 I have featured some tunes from some lesser known hardcore producers.

I hope for this to be a success somewhere down the line, but as with everything It's been a slow start.

If you did hear my previous episodes from this blog, please show your support by doing at least one of the following.

Subscribe to the YouTube Channel http://www.youtube.com/TeaCubeRecords
Like the Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/TeaCubeYT

Just these two will help a million. The more support I get the more encouragement I will have to continue.

Thanks for your time.

Review: Daft Punk - Get Lucky

2013-04-29T19:55:00.001-07:00

I've been promising these reviews so why not go straight to the UK Number 1.

So Daft Punk are back with their new track Get Lucky and have shot right up to number 1, well done to them its been quite a long time since I heard any fresh Daft Punk content.

The first thing that I notice listening to this song, the style seems to be quite a lot different. at least until around two and a half minutes through the track their electronic sounding voice samples that they are so famous for seem to appear very well mixed in.

Overall its a very nice well produced track although coming from their old albums this feels a bit soft and dull to me. I've not had a chance to check out the rest of their album but I hope to do so soon.

World of Warcraft Patch 5.2

2013-03-05T17:59:00.000-08:00

And so World of Warcraft patch 5.2 is upon us.

It's currently 2:20 Server time, the servers have been down for over an hour and wont be up until the morning.

There's a few things that have taken my attention and I'd like to take a moment to talk about them if you would like to stick around while i relive the original reason for creating this blog.

First off... More frickin daily quests.

I wont lie, I'm going to be very honest here... But I haven't done any. I get told "you need to do your dailies to get better stuff"
If it means walking around in average less than great gear... I couldn't care less. I'm not doing dailies, It's a stupid thing to force people into them. That's that!

During my day, the incentive to do dailies was a Netherdrake or one of those other damn things who's name escapes me right now. Then the Sunwell server effort (I'll come back to this) which rewarded me some big title I had to pay gold for. Nothing was gated behind dailies.

Reputation on the other hand, yes. You needed to be Revered with respected factions in order to obtain keys to enter heroics, this was a fantastic retard mechanism. Because you would invite them into your group and the moment you got to the door and all of a sudden you are missing 3 dps, you knew there and then that you wouldn't have wanted them in your group anyway.

But here's the big difference between reputation then and now. Back then you could choose, "do I earn it questing or do I earn it dungeoneering" now you have to gain your rep by questing, no choice.

Wrath of the Lich King introduces reputation tabards, wear this tabard and any heroic will give you rep for what ever faction you want. Brilliant idea, extended into cataclysm including racial tabards too (yay for no more runecloth)

Come mop we should be moving forward not backwards.

I understand that this Isle of Thunder is supposed to be a server effort like sunwell was. Who knows it may be worth taking part in, but I for one seriously... Cannot be bothered anymore.

I did my dailies in sunwell, and I didn't do anymore until Trial of the Champions, which I might add I lost a lot of progress by merely faction changing, which caused me never to go back again. I tried my molten front, I wanted the achis but no. It's like a full time job. If you don't go in day in day out and put hours of work to it, you won't get what you want.

Anyway, moving on.

New Tier and Upgrade Removal

So there is a new Tier. This will be the first new Tier since Ulduar not to include new dungeons.

I'm not exactly sure if ZG and ZA count along side firelands as they come at a month or two difference? Not sure. But none the less this bothers me.

With the removal of Item Upgrades this leaves me in a difficult position. Gearing up new characters is what I do, I don't care for raids. I just level things all the time. The problem this leaves is that there will now be people running around in the same blues I have only better quality than what is available.

Inb4 "LFR"

Personally I'd rather excrete a Pineapple but each to their own I guess. For the next 5 days we will still be doing old content LFR until they decide to open the first section of the new raid. This bores me terribly, I wan't some 5 man dungeons to gear my alts, not a 25 man disaster.

Transmog Weapon Restrictions

Here is a sore subject for me. Don't get me wrong for one moment that I'm not happy with the changes... Because believe me I really am. Although it was not quite what I was hoping for...

Let me get onto the subject of Legendaries for just one moment.

There is still no clear reason as to why Blizzard refuse to allow us to Transmogrify Legendary Weapons. I can understand if there is some kind of code writing issue if you are trying to perfect a way of transferring the weapons unique effects. For example the way my Legendary bow shoots magic arrows instead of normal. Or the awesome effect the Shadowmourne gives off.

But Blizzard, we can live without that for now. Of course it would be a bonus if that could be possible, but at the same time, we just want our weapon looks you get what I mean?

I'm still also not quite sure on the restriction on 0 stat items too, but I'll leave that for another day.

New PVP Season

I'll put it like this... The new sets look shit and all the same. Not much else to say really.

Class Changes That I Care About

I'll start off on a good note, I'm playing Paladin now... All I can see here is buffs, I'm not going into it, you can read them yourself. This pleases me really.

On the other hand, I also play Mage. And all I see is nerfs so I'm at a balance here.

To Finish Up

On a whole, I still very much dislike the direction this game has taken. I think Blizzard are making a very big mistake. QQ and so on and so on. In the last 2 years my bucket of care for this game has sprung a serious leak. I almost didn't even buy MOP. I bought Guild Wars 2 first.

I hate to say it, but If this new Tier isn't great. I think this games days are seriously numbered.

Toonstruck 2

2013-02-02T11:57:00.002-08:00

Toonstruck - 1996. One of the most expensive to make games of its time.

I'm just curious as to how many people here played this game? It was one of my favorites back in the day.

There is a Petition for Toonstruck 2 being hosted as a Facebook Group by the man who owns the rights to the game, if you are like me and wish to see the second installment which was made but never put into the game, check it out. Toonstruck Two Petition

Music Reviews

2013-01-31T11:00:00.001-08:00

I wanted to start a completely new blog to start making Music/Song/Artist reviews. But after creating the page and looking at templates, I thought too myself "why don't I just alter the theme to Angry Space Goat instead" The idea I have is for more honest reviews, none of this suck up crap you read saying "Justin Bieber is brilliant" because we all know the truth, the only time I could ever say those words are in Quotation... Never to be quoted as my own words. I intend to be honest on my opinions. Another thing I wanted out of the new blog was to have people submit the names of songs/tunes/bands/artists that they wish me to review, and I'd add them to a list of to do. So, we shall see how it goes, only problem is I need something to start out with. -Professor Clutch

Level 80 Twink Soloing

2013-01-28T10:51:00.000-08:00

So, It's been a while since I posted anything again.

With Mists of Pandaria, there have been several Item Level 409 Blues to choose from for level 80 Twinks. Some see this as a silly move, but others like myself love it. This has enabled me to push through content solo that would have previously been silly.

Some classes are absolutely silly with this gear but regardless, I'm playing Hunter. They aren't completely op compared too the other classes, but I have managed a few things.

Here is a video that I would like to share with you, I was able to solo Onyxia 10 man with my 80 hunter. Hope you enjoy.

Kemi and Cubedouts Christmas Mix [Dubstep]

2012-12-23T07:48:00.001-08:00

It's Christmas time, so here is a present from Dj Cubedout and Dj Kemi.

Dream Jobs - What You Do Instead

2012-12-17T03:01:00.003-08:00

So here's a question...

What would your dream job be? and what job do you do instead?

When I left school back in 2004 I thought to myself hey, I want to be a Computer Technician... Wow how stupid was I. These years later I think too myself why!?!!? Why did I choose this.

The summer after college finished on the Computer course, I filmed a short Skateboarding video. Was a video of a friend, not the greatest quality but It was all we had. I'd not really made many videos in the past. But I thought too myself, wow, I could do this. I was addicted to extreme sports on TV and always wanted to go around making my own videos.

So that summer I decided screw it... Signed up for a film course at Truro College.

Dream achieved right? no... I attended for 4 weeks until I gave up. The teacher was incompetent and out of a class of 15 I was the last one to leave. I learned nothing except that the teachers computer was riddled with viruses, and left very disheartened.

I already had knowledge of editing and basic camera use, but I didn't have my own camera, and I went back into IT.

Now I'm 24 and wondering where my life is going. Jobs in the IT sector aren't amazing, and running a local business has proven quite a challenge to me.

I want to pursue my dream of making videos. YouTube offers a good platform where I can earn money from my content providing I can get the views, but I still have the first restriction... Cameras.

And now I need your help, where should I start? I have no money and I want to make this happen. If I can start with one camera then that's all good, but Ideally I need something of decent quality because posting videos like the old Skate video wont get watched in this day in age. Ideally I want something like a GoPro for certain shots and a decent camera for normal shots.

Who knows? I guess I'll figure it out eventually.

Trance Mix vol.1 - 2012 - by Dj Cubedout

2012-12-10T10:00:00.001-08:00

SWTOR: Mobile Security

2012-11-14T14:51:00.001-08:00

So this may become a rant as opposed too advice, or who knows? It could become both.

Here is the situation:

I quit playing SWTOR around the time Guild Wars 2 come out, maybe a week before.

After this time I rooted my Android phone which removed the Security Key application from my phone.

So SWTOR announces that It will become free too play, this is great! I reinstall the game, go to download updates ready for the day it goes F2P.

I enter my details then read.. "Security Key" yea... Can't log in. So I contact customer support explaining my situation hoping someone would be able to help me out.

Instead I get this lovely email back.

Regards,
Protocol Droid M0-T0, Star Wars (tm): The Old Republic(tm) Customer Service

Ok, thanks Protocol Droid M0-T0 but I was hoping too get a response from an actual Human/Chiss/Twi'Lek what ever... But no, generic response.

"Fair enough" I think too myself as I start dialling their phone number. They must have a proper procedure on their phone network.

I listen too the menu, 2 for accounts, 2 for security... Nope nothing in here about authenticators. I listen to every option in every menu until I give up.

Contact them again explaining that the phone gave no option about authenticators, asking if I could once again please do this online?

Guess what they emailed back?

Yup that's right, the exact same email... Word for word, letter for letter, character for character...

Fine, Ill ring the damn number again and press any old option. "contact someone from billing" ok.

*orchestral music*

15 minutes later...

Some Professor and Doctor are telling me I'm a valued customer and my call will be answered soon...

15 minutes later... They are here again...

30 minutes later... Still no answer, I give up...

I have used the online robot support again and made very clear that their phone service sucks, their online service sucks, and if they wont help me online I wont bother playing their game ever again. Lets hope this triggers an actual living creature this time.

So I guess the advice I can give from this is... Always remove your Mobile Authenticator before doing anything which could loose your Authenticator, could be formatting, selling the phone, anything really... Because its an absolute pig to get back.

Zombie Gangnam Style

2012-10-27T07:50:00.002-07:00

So today I got really bored, and made this mashup of Zombie Nation and Gangnam Style...
