with a name worthy of it's own celebrity it's not a wonder that peter quickly catches your eye. one of our three boys in the april issue of freq magazine this post is very overdue. the grass and trees are now green (just to give you an idea of the timeline when these were taken), that doesn't make it any less relevant, however. with his amazing eye for colour and bold patterns these are safely some of my favourite looks for the summer. have a great weekend and make sure to check back on tuesday for my take on the other stars of our april shoot. xoxo

in calgary again. this time for a good solid month, taking care of business so to speak. and how much business has already rolled our way, always grateful for being busy. here is an oldie but a goodie (pre-bang and just at the tip of spring, but i have been hunting that topshop skirt ever since i saw it in their campaign at the beginning of the season, when i finally ordered it it came in a tad too big (nothing a safety pin here and there won't fix). it's easily one of my favourite pieces for spring. as every good fashion obsessed girl knows this is the time to start cleaning our closets, however, to make room for the upcoming fall/winter finds, check back soon and stay tuned on facebook for your invite to our annual clothing sale, myself and a couple of equally obsessed in the city will be parting with some of our most treasured possessions (emphasis on fashion of course) on june 22 in victoria park. new rule for this year: if it hasn't been worn within the year, it's up for grabs. i can't wait to start sharing it all with you. we start posting june 3rd. get ready calgary. xoxo

it's not everyday that you get to be invited to be part of a huge event thrown by one of the most successful and popular brands in the world, let alone one that lays their roots right here in canada. naturally then, we were thrilled to have been asked to host aldo calgary editor's ambush event with lou lou magazine on wednesday night at chinook center. with all the social media attention i am sure you didn't miss your chance to get your fill of all things aldo and lou lou. those on site got a chance to chat with the magazine's editors and sampled some delicious catering. the turnout was more than we could have ever expected. the calgary fashion crowd with all our favourites faces came out to support and shop the night away with 20% discounts on the entire store, swag bags and special in store giveaways for those most fashionable in attendance (yet another reason never to miss these things, and dress your best for every occasion). we made some new friends, got some more shoes and learned about aldo's drool worthy high end collections (aldo rise for girls and mr.b for the gentlemen). i love the nights when you walk away and you are so happy to be part of such an amazing (and growing) community of people. be sure to check out garmann:lee and binzento for more coverage of the event as well as instagram and facebook for more of tyler's photos from the evening. next stop on tour is vancouver, then montreal, let's hope they don't outshine us. xoxo

ok how friggin' excited would you be if you opened the mail and a links of london bracelet was just sitting there beautifully wrapped waiting for you. so this happened to me. i am such a huge fan of their friendship bracelet collection, brought on by my friend jennie who got matching ones with her boyfreind. my first one was what became infamous around here, the skull bracelet. while i was at holt renfrew for the christmas season for the past two years i've been eyeing the comings and going of the colorful arm candy, lusting after more. the double wrap bracelets are my favorite right now, had a hard time deciding between the light and dark colors so i decided to mix it up a little. 100% sterling silver these beauties take the bracelets we used to love as kids to another level. which one should i splurge on next? xoxo

coming to you today with my left hand, so to say i will be keeping it short. tendonitis, arthritis (god i hope not at this ripe age of mine), or another form of wrist injury is currently preventing me from normality. at the rate i am typing with so many e-mails to write i will be sitting at the computer until next week. a few days, couple of tiger balm ointments, vinegar compresses and things should be back at their operational selves again. until then i have some more black and white outfits for you (just in time for summer), this one especially important to me with my newly acquired badu hat from my calgary visit. the bold lettering, and a leather visor made me instantly fall in love when i saw it on sp.badu instagram. for one of your own you can e-mail spencer at spthedesigner@gmail.com xoxo

you can tell how behind i am when i post photos from my trip to calgary. well here it is, i couldn't let this one go unposted anyway, it's not often that we see amazing street style just roaming freely on our city's pavements. and no surprise then that she wasn't even from here. also for the consideration of not flooding you with my own vanity i like to vary the posts between my own photos and those of the inspiring people around me. i feel like a horrible person for not remembering her name (don't we all always say how bad we are with names, but maybe it's just a bad excuse for being awful listeners). we all heard the rumors and confirmations of nordstrom opening it's first stores in canada in the near future, so imagine my excitement when i was stopped along 17th avenue and asked to what ended up being a style photo exchange for the nordstrom trent report. check out the nordstrom blog for updates. their presence so early on in the city (the chinook store is not scheduled to open until 2014) is something that stroke my curiosity so i am sure to be paying close attention to any upcoming news on the subject. for now i am off to vancouver for some work, it's looking like an amazing weekend ahead. xoxo

this term was just as foreign to me as it might be to you. thanks to a not so great arrested development documentary and some lame fonzie reference from decades ago (who has that kind of attention span anymore) now i know, and so wittingly am able to use it as the title for today's post, how clever that it ties into my cut up men's west 49 tee, also only a fun play on the infamous givenchy animal prints from a couple seasons ago. my brother confessed that he regularly reads my blog to find out what is new in my life, now that i know i have a whole new stage for family deceit (ha! kidding!), little does he know that on top of the usual work and seldom play we're doing more work. i'm actually getting geared up for the clothing sale we will be having at the end of june, this means a roadtrip with the family (tyler and charlie of course), a week in calgary riding our bikes and potentially an awesome new neon suitcase (thank you airline industry for keeping me on trend). oh yes and welcome bangs again, thanks to the always talented and beautiful kristin page, there really is no place like home. xoxo

i'm back. basically left my life behind when i was away for work in the past few days (no computer, no cat, no boyfriend), it's been amazing outside, as in canada finally caught up to the rest of the world, which translates into a lot of time spent outside photographing clothes, obsessing over newly acquired wardrobes and awaiting fall/winter to hit the stores, silently wishing we could just skip the sales. had some much needed reflection time about the next few months, plans and goals have been made, dates have been set and now we live. have a happy weekend everyone, i promise lots of content come next week, a very exciting preview i can tell you about is a collab with links of london and as always more from suasion... stay tuned. xoxo

sadly i will be missing the calgary comic expo this weekend, the guest line up is out of control this year: casts of walking dead, game of thrones and lotr just to name a few (you know the nerd inside you is having an aneurysm right about now). having just been to the vancouver fan expo last week i thought in light of not being able to see the cosplay at the grounds i can at least share what i saw over here on the coast. even though the magnitude of the vancouver convention shys in comparison to its neighbor, the enthusiasm of the attendees makes up for what it lacks in size. having had some media issues in vancouver we are going to try for the pax prime in seattle at the end of the summer, i will be curious to see what these events have to offer on the other side of the border, something tells me that things are not only bigger in texas. stay tuned. for this weekends' coverage of the calgary goings on check out their instagram feed @calgaryexpo, because pictures are always worth a thousand words. happy weekend. xoxo

this one is all smiles for you guys today. the weather has been amaze, life in general is treating us well, lots of planning and work and setting of goals, things i don't think will cease to be part of an everyday routine. weekend in vancouver aside from all the rain could not have been more perfect. it's no secret that i can not skateboard, never could, probably never will, this one is 100% tylers' property, we paid a visit to a west 49 about two weeks ago and we got to pick out some new swag (mine is coming up as soon as we have a sunny weekend) BUT it did go nicely with the color theme and as i helped pick it out i'm going to take the credit and the moment still life posted the watermelon sweater on their instagram i was at their door knocking. the perfect summer knit, what more could you want. xoxo

perfect timing and some inspiring instagram shots by the loverly caroline gault and i find myself at the door to one of the most welcoming spaces in the city (on one of the nicest days this year may i add). haithem kaadiki has got to be one of the warmest hosts i have ever had the pleasure of interacting with and with a mimosa in hand waiting for me upon my arrival to boot. i got him just in time for western canada fashion week, so to my pleasant surprise i also got to say hi to miss leah van loon, who was styling the show in edmonton just in a few short days after my visit. what is exciting on top of being in the presence of a great mind of the designer is that this is his first full women's collection presented to buyers and omg is it ever amazing. the neon, the structure, the cuts and the patterns, everything screams #sportyspice and spring 2013! i think we are all ready for the heat. watch for some amaze kaadiki looks in our upcoming issue of freq magazine. xoxo

nothing better than my favorite combo of black on black, throw an amazing silver chunky heeled sandal in the mix and you have my favorite lounging outfit for this victoria spring (sorry calgary >.<) everyone around here is anxious for the sunshine to hit so whenever we get a little peek of the sun coming through, i, at any rate, bust out the shorts. on my way out the door to check out the new h&m new icons collection that hit the stores today. i already have my favorite pieces picked out, now to try them on. xoxo

all aboard - park show 2013

i am finally sitting down to get through the images i worked on while on my latest trip to calgary, first up, and long overdue, is the park show images from the event held at the aerospace museum in the cities north east. the girls outdo themselves, as usual, with this stellar venue, every time taking the audience on a journey beyond fashion, exploring the possibilities of our own backyard. first were cars (at the mercedes benz hyatt auto gallery), now planes. with this track record the only thing left is going into space. the designers at this years park show also aimed to please, park show, in it's infancy was a place for up and coming designers to showcase their talents and present their work to potential local buyers, as the organization grew and park luxe was introduced we have all had the honor to experience calgary's full fashion ambition, park show is catching up, not only in talent but also extending it's reach to the rest of the province. nicole campre closing the show this year, familiar with the park runway but aiming at lowering her price points by far raised the bar for the presentation of any future events. i hope to see more of edmonton represented through park as time goes on, i can think of a few amazing designers who need to make their way down to see us very soon. along with park's usual suspects we were treated to a pre-show interactive wearable art presentation, breaking up the actual fashion show and some of the local favorites with smaller collections. the photographers got a little confused (despite a briefing from those in charge) and some early chaos ensued, but in the end it's all in the family. make sure to visit my facebook page for more photos from the event as well as visit gar&mann and binzento for their coverage. xoxo

bah! being home has been crazier than ever, it has never felt so good to be welcomed back by the city. i'm keeping this one short and sweet because i am literally running out of time to do anything. almost feels like stocking up for the apocalypse (plus it's tax season... obviously). we took these right before i left victoria in fear i will come back to bare trees, cherry blossoms are so beautiful but they come and go faster than bad fashion trends and victoria seems to get their bloom on quite early in the season. calgary has a LOT of catching up to do, but the sun, i have to say is extremely nice. happy monday!! xoxo

in my attempt not to neglect the blog for even a second, here is a quick b&w we shot the night before last. it's not summer yet, but it sure beats the weather i am about to drive into on tuesday sometime between 2 and 3 in the afternoon... is my guesstimation. this time around leaving home was a lot harder than i thought it would be, maybe because of my stopover in vancouver it seems like a longer trip, but i miss my honey already and it's only been fourteen hours. and so i apologize in advance for the emotional adventure you are about to embark on with me for these next two weeks. i shall make sure it is also filled with tons of great photos and tales of fashion and glamour... mostly fashion though. here's to another week closer to summer. xoxo

we took suasion out to play before i left for vancouver this weekend. we waited forever for the tennis courts to dry from all the rain we've been putting up with for the last week. finally we got our window, although it would have probably been smart to save it for a sunny summer day, and so you might see this one on many occasions still, especially that our windows literally overlook this, oh-so-very-convenient location. perhaps it will be time to pick up a racket and actually learn how to play. like i said in my last post my obsession with the laser cut has reached a new level, i can't seem to get away from it so i'm totes just embracing this trend. keep checking for upcoming suasion posts on aniab, there is lots in store for you, meanwhile check out their online store for more laser cut goodness.
