SPCA of Central Florida
Homeless animals may be adopted from several organizations and government agencies in Orange and Seminole counties. To see or adopt an animal, contact the shelter.
Dogs, cats and other animals are available at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Central Florida, which serves Orange and Seminole counties. The society’s Orange shelter is at 2727 Conroy Road, Orlando, and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The society’s Seminole shelter is at 2800 County Home Road, just south of Sanford. It is open for adoptions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Orange Animal Services
Orange County Animal Services is at 2769 Conroy Road, Orlando. Adoption hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The shelter is closed Sunday and holidays.

Seminole Animal Services
Seminole County Animal Services’ shelter, 232 Bush Blvd., Sanford, is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for adoptions, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for redemptions, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for all other services; and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for adoptions, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for redemptions and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for other services.

Buddies for Life
Buddies for Life is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity that makes presentations about animal welfare to all ages and groups and finds homes for homeless dogs and puppies.

Sunshine Airedalers of Florida is a nonprofit organization of experienced Airedale owners dedicated to rescuing Airedale terriers and placing them in suitable homes.

Coastal Poodle Rescue is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to rehabilitating unwanted, abused and abandoned poodles and poodle mixes and placing them in loving, responsible homes. All dogs are checked by veterinarians, spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, provided with microchips and placed in a foster home until adoption.

Greyhound Pets of America, a national nonprofit organization for former racing greyhounds, has an adoption shelter at 1260 S. Ronald Reagan Blvd., Longwood. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The organization has adoption days at Petsmart, Petco and Doggie Door stores in Seminole and Orange counties on Saturdays.
