Ensuring that cats and kittens receive adequate vitamins and minerals in their food is crucial for maintaining their overall health and well-being. I have had many problems with feeding my animals at the beginning. That is why I'm so sensitive to this topic.

Here's what happened with our dog. Imir - that was his name - was still small, perhaps just six months old. And that summer there were lots of ticks.

Once Imir had almost died from a tick bite. We had to take him to the vet, for three days he was between life and death. We discovered that he, among other things, lacked vitamin K. We also discovered that the feed we bought for him was not rich in vitamins.

So, with the cats, I was just an expert on animal foods and looked for good kibble. I also buy vitamin pastes for boys for at least up to 6 months to support bone growth. And I give them a good meet, too.

Vitamins are organic compounds that are necessary for various bodily functions such as cell growth, metabolism, and immune system support. Cats require specific vitamins like A, D, E, and K, as well as those from the B-complex group, to maintain healthy skin, coat, vision, and overall vitality. On the other hand, minerals are inorganic elements that are essential for bone development, muscle function, nerve transmission, and enzyme activation.

Key minerals for cats include calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. We have to pay particular attention to the presence of taurine in the cat food.

A balanced diet that is rich in essential vitamins and minerals is vital for preventing nutrient deficiencies and ensuring optimal health for the growing Maine Coon kitten.

In short, I spent this week studying kitten food and prices. I must say, I found that the prices have increased compared to two months ago when I bought the bag last time. I paid 10 euros more than the previous time (for 10 kg). Well... he is growing and he must eat the correct food in this period.

My Maine Coon Cats Can Stay All Together

Maine Coon Cat Becomes Beautiful If Alimented Correctly This Way

This fantastic Maine Coon cat has a beautiful body, is large, and has very thick silky fur. At almost 4 years old he is a fantastic animal even though I left him at my house two years ago because I had pity on making him return to the condition he came from.

He was a pile of fur, all lumps, at two years old he weighed only 5 kilos (less than my females), his teeth were falling out, he was dirty, and he didn't know how to play or express his emotions. I was really shocked when his owner took him out of the carrier.

Timur, my deceased male, was a splendid cat, almost 1 meter long from nose to tail, weighing 13 kilos. His kittens weighed 9 kilos at one year old. I couldn't even imagine a male at two years in these conditions like Filippo was.

I took him to the vet and he gave me some news: this cat will soon die and his death will be atrocious. In the photo you can see how small he was compared to Mefiti who at the time weighed 8 kilos, she is a large female. But she was twice smaller than Timur.

Filippo was very sweet and let me clean and tear out his lumps. I bought vitamins and minerals, and very good food. I said that I would try to give him the best life I could for the two three months he had left.

I tried to cure his illnesses and the relapses he had for a year. In short, I did everything I could.

Soon he will be 4 years old and he has been with me for two. He is healthy and has grown a lot. Even though his weight is almost 8 kilos, you can see with the naked eye that he is in splendid shape. You know that Maine Coon cats grow up to 4 years old, so we can assume that Filippo is now at his peak growth. In the photo below you can see that he is bigger than Mefiti now.

So, if you want to have a beautiful and large Maine Coon cat, my advice is to help your Maine Coon cat grow. At least up to six months of age, use multivitamin and multimineral tablets or pastes, preferably specific for kittens. At least up to 15 months (the age until Maine Coons are officially recognized as kittens) use kibble specifically for kittens. All purebred animals that grow very strong within a few months need growth support.

Cats are carnivorous animals and therefore nature created them in such a way that meat provides them with everything they need. Give him raw meat. I buy minced meat from adult beef for my cats because this type of meat is healthier than others.

Starting a new life is not easy for anyone. Imagine if they took you away from your mother, took you to who knows where, and put you in an absolutely alien and, as such, hostile environment. And you are only three months old.

I think my cats tell the kittens that they have to leave our house and go to another family. In short, kittens know what awaits them. Some don't want it, others ask every person who comes to take them. In any case, the first days are hard for everyone.

Our Henri seems to have not understood that he is leaving. The second day he cried but then calmed down. He has a room at his disposal with everything necessary and full of toys. In short, the first few days he had things to do.

All my big cats, however, were offended that I brought it and retreated to the porch.

What I like about these cats is that they remain calm in situations when other cats lose their minds. It happened that the carrier with 4 kittens had broken (we were going to the vet for the first vaccination). The carrier had opened, but the kittens remained all together and just looked around. While in a similar situation "normal" kittens ran.

Last week was very difficult both for me and my Maine Coon cat Mefiti whom I have already talked about before. Not only did she have an abscess under her throat. She was pretending to mate with Filippo a month ago. Filippo is castrated and these games end badly for her:

Mefiti wanted to have kittens so much that she developed a hysterical pregnancy.

Well, things did not exactly this way. The cat had a hormonal swing. It's not that she "invented" a pregnancy voluntarily like humans could do (by the way, they say, Phantom Pregnancy is possible in human beings, too).

Maine Coon cats have heat practically every month all year round and can mate even immediately after giving birth. This is a serious problem in homes where owners do not want to sterilize their cats. In my case, I have a small registered domestic cattery and therefore my cats are not sterilized.

So, what happened?

Mefiti was in heat and tried to mate with the neutered cat. This caused a hormonal surge. Which led to the false pregnancy.

Normally, this does not lead to serious consequences and the problem resolves itself in a few days. But in this case, the inflammation of the uterus has begun. Nobody knows the reason. Maybe precisely because there was that abscess and her body was unable to fight the infection... We don't know. But it happened.

Cats, at least mine cats, don't complain. Maybe they don't want to be treated or are afraid of the vet. Or maybe Maine Coons are just like that. Timur never complained either.

Mefiti ate a little and lay down next to me with her legs stretched out (photo). I honestly didn't think anything bad at first. Yes, she was sad and behaved a little strangely. But it can happen.

One day she didn't come when I called them to eat their "treats". I went to look for her and found out that she was in the box and had some kind of birth. Other cats also came and it seemed like they were looking for the newborn kittens. Obviously, there weren't. They were not the birth waters, but pus coming out of the uterus.

In the bad luck she had she was lucky that some of the pus had come out. Otherwise, the uterus could burst. Any wrong movement could lead to this. And the cat would have died in terrible suffering.

Ultrasound confirmed that urgent intervention was needed before it ended badly.

Even during the operation, the vet could accidentally pierce the thin covering of the uterus and it would be very difficult to then clean the pus from the entrails. The hours while I waited for me to take her back I couldn't find peace. It was too dangerous...

The vet was very good I must say. In the photo, you can see for yourself how big the extracted uterus was. The cut on her belly is very small, only a few centimeters.

Here you see Mefiti just some hours after the operation. The problem with this cat is that she doesn't want to take the medicine. She spits it out. But she must take antibiotics. And we fight about it with her every night now. She understood when I took the medicine out of the fridge, she immediately ran away, hid, and didn't come out for a long time. So I have to invent tricks to distract her from looking at me.

The first few days after the operation she had a fever, but she is now fine. The cut clearly still hurts and I see that sometimes she lies down next to me with those legs stretched out. But the worst is passed.

I have to say that while I've certainly heard that Phantom Pregnancies happen, this is the first time I've ever seen it. The situation is certainly very dangerous and you need to rush to the vet as soon as possible.

Every animal has a distinct character. 1-cent-big fish, a bird, a cat, a dog. Their personal characters are leveraged with the traits common to their species. In my life, I have raised many types of animals and know what they are like.

Observing animals opens your eyes to their "societies".

I saw a small green scalaria (an aquarium fish) saving a large black scalaria that was weak and seak from a goldfish that was 5 times larger than the savior. Seeing this incredible rescue made me change my opinion of fish forever.

I really like quails. These very curious birds are always busy with lots of problems to solve.

It was very interesting to see that our dogs could communicate with each other over a distance without seeing each other and without making sounds. A kind of telepathy.

But among all animals, Maine Coon cats occupy a special place. Many people call them dog-cats for many psychological traits of their characters.

They are very attached to their humans. They follow you everywhere, they control you, and demand lots of attention and cuddles as a confirmation of your love and their possession of you. They learn your habits and "help" you follow them.

Hestia, the "white" female above, knows that I work for an hour with my students and she starts walking in front of me as soon as an hour is over. I can't chat with them because she covers my computer camera.

And it didn't end there. I don't know how she knows what time the alarm has to ring and she wakes me up a few minutes earlier.

All my cats wait for me on the terrace when I leave the house. The most curious thing is that they run in front of the front door as soon as I open the gate. They can't see me. How do they know that this is really me and not my neighbors? A secret.

I brought our 8-month-old kitten to my mother. She didn't want it that much. But then she discovered that he stood at the door before she had to go out and didn't move from there until she got home. She fell in love with him when she saw that he loved her so much.

The same cat understood that it was important to my mother when the phone rang. He saw that she didn't hear it and started calling her.

Maine Coon cats love to do what their owner does. Even eating what the owner eats. Having breakfast together is a way of togetherness for them. Timur, the red-white cat in the photos, ate tomatoes because I ate them. And even pickled cabbage (photo)!

I like the way they talk to me. And they are really very talkative.

Another curiosity is that males who reach 13 kilos in weight and one meter in body length (Timur in the photos) have an almost inaudible and high voice.

Kittens learn commands very easily and follow them. If you immediately train your kitten to come when you call, this can save you from unpleasant situations. The Maine Coon will not run headlong out of fear into an unknown place, but even if it runs away, it will respond and come when you call it. Little Maine Coons willingly bring an apport, a toy that you throw. They happily run after it and carry it so that you can throw it away once more.

Another feature of them is that they easily get used to walking on a leash (harness with leash). You can take them with you when you go on vacation or go out with friends. If you have trained them to do it. One of our kittens spent her holidays with her owners on the boat (in Genoa).

It's possible to talk about them all the day. In any case, Maine Coons are truly fantastic life companions.

Philipp, Maine Coon Cat Without Psycological Problems

Filippo is a young cat who spent the first two years of his life in a cage. They rented him to breeders as a breeding stock. He arrived in my house as a fur ball that weighed only 5 kilos. This is the weight of a two-year-old female, not a male. He was so mistreated that he didn't know that it was possible to play, he didn't know how to express his feelings. It made me cry when I watched him.

At first, I didn't know what to do with him. His fur was terrible: just lumps. I was thinking of taking him to the groomer to shave him. But the groomer was not working in that period. Maybe on vacation. Then I slowly started combing him, tearing out all that dead hair.

Within a week or two he had become more relaxed. Now it was time to bring him back. I don't like cats unless they're red. But this poor creature who had now become alive... It was so painful to think that he had to go back to the cage... And I decided to leave him with us.

It's been almost two years that he has lived with us. With good food, vitamins, and love the kitten grew. Now he already weighs almost 8 kilos. Not much for a Maine Coon, but for him, it's a great success. He also became large in size. Not as big as Timur was, but you can tell by now that this is a male Maine Coon cat.

His hair is very soft and even today he believes that the hairstyle is his privilege and is the sign of my love for him. If he hears that another cat is combing, he will immediately come and demand to be combed himself.

The photos show you a naughty boy who at almost 4 years old behaves like a tiny kitten. If I do it right now that I have to get a new boy, I should give Filippo to someone. But knowing what his life was like and how happy he is now, I don't have the strength to even think about cheating on him.

The New Maine Coon Male Will Arrive Soon In Our Family

This is Henri Le Grand, a 3 month Maine Coon kitten. The breeder has to vaccinate him the second time and he will be ready to leave his mum. By law, in Italy, cats can leave the cattery from three months of age.

In fact, I believe that the right age for Maine Coons is 4 months because they are later in their growth and maturation. Our Philipp, who by all Maine Coon standards should already be an adult at 4 years, is still a kitten due to his behavior.

Maine Coon cats are like the gentle giants of the feline world, known for their large size, friendly personalities, and striking appearance. These majestic creatures have tufted ears, bushy tails, and a thick, water-repellent coat that comes in a variety of colors and patterns. They are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds, with males often weighing up to 18 pounds or more.

Maine Coon Cat Rivalry in the Family

Maine Coon cats are known for their large size, friendly nature, and playful demeanor. However, what happens when two Maine Coon cats are brought into the same household? I will tell about the rivalry between Maine Coon cats in a family setting.

Normally, Maine Coons are very friendly when living with all other species of pets. The kittens from my cattery coexist with literally every species of pet, even budgerigars. In my example, you can see what happens when Maine Coons want to achieve something.

I present to you the two of three Maine Coon females who live in my home. One (from behind) is Hestia. She is 10 years old, and she has been living with me since the age of 4 months. She has a calm and balanced character and usually doesn't question anything, even if she is capable of giving a slap if disturbed too much.

The other is Mefiti. Mefiti is very young, she is only 6 years old, but she is much bigger: she weighs 8 kilos while Hestia weighs less than 6. She came to me when she was 8 months old. Mefiti is combative and normally defends what she wants. Mefiti is very much a creature of habit: she has favorite places near me. She feels safer and protected. Always staying in the same place makes her feel comfortable in her life. I am her power bank.

I don't know why the other cats sometimes try to take her place. In this case, she doesn't fight but leaves.

In this case, Mefiti was lying next to me, but there was some space left. Hestia came and got in the middle of the free space. She wants to be close to me too. First Hestia looks at Mefiti and as you can see, Mefiti had a face and ears that are not happy. But she did not move. Hestia slipped in behind me without caring about Mefiti's emotions. Mefiti, disturbed, left.

Monitor the interactions between the Maine Coon cats closely, especially during the initial introduction period. Step in if you notice any signs of aggression or tension and redirect their focus with toys or treats.

4. Create safe spaces:

Set up hiding spots, elevated perches, and cozy retreats where each Maine Coon cat can escape if they need some alone time or want to avoid conflict with the other cat.

5. Positive reinforcement:

Reward good behavior and interactions between the Maine Coon cats with treats, praise, and affection. Encourage peaceful coexistence by reinforcing positive interactions.

It all depends on the behavior of the owner. Be careful not to favor one of the animals, try to be equal with all. And scold them as you would scold your own children if necessary. Maine Cons are extremely intelligent and will understand everything you want from them (although perhaps as cats they won't show they do)

Mefiti is Not Well. Cat Abscess

My poor little girl is not well: she has a very large abscess under her jaw. The cat bit her and the wound became inflamed. I noticed that she behaved badly when the abscess was already the size of an egg. In a few days, the 8-kg cat has become like a feather: 5 kg. At the beginning of the week I was so happy after weighing her - and suddenly such a drastic change!

The worst part of these sad events is that they usually happen, at least in my house, on Saturday evening. When everything is already closed or is about to close. Unfortunately for me, I don't have any medicine at home to survive until Monday. And the pharmacies close in an hour.

Luckily I have a friend who is a pharmacist. But she's too far away, in a little village up in the mountains. At this point, I've already lost my mind, I call her and ask her to wait until I come and prepare an antibiotic for me just to survive until Monday.

Imagine that I, who normally don't leave the house when it's dark because I prefer not to drive at night, run there, driving an hour along the mountain roads where not all Formula 1 drivers would be able to hold on, and then even back to buy a medicine for a cat...

Unfortunately, the sad part didn't end there. Monday morning I called our really good vet, but he has an operation and can't answer. At this point, I took her to a vet I had already thought about before. Because my vet is a little complicated I was thinking of changing him and so I knew about this other.

Luckily she accepted us and when we arrived, she cleaned the wound (the abscess had opened). And nothing. That's all.

I didn't say anything because I believed that a vet knew what she was doing. But in the evening the cat feels sick. Nothing to do, I call our vet and this time I go to him urgently immediately.

Abscess is very dangerous. A cat can die immediately. And already the first vet had to give her an antibiotic... Fortunately, our vet, although a bit complicated as a person, is very experienced.

Today my beautiful kitten is fine. The wound is almost healed, there is no more fever. Although she is still a little sad, she eats and walks.

I am happy.

Maine Coon cats have been living in my house for the last 10 years. I have a registered little domestic cattery. According to the rules, cats from the catteries cannot walk freely on the street. They should always stay at home. My cats have a whole apartment at their disposal, plus a veranda with a “winter garden” and a small terrace. Honestly, they think they are hosts, and I am at their service. They know well how to manipulate me and get what they want. I’m sure your animals are no better either, so you can confirm the truth of my story.

I have a young male, a very beautiful cat named Philip. He is 3 years old, a young adult by Maine Coon standards. This means he loves running like crazy and playing with two kittens, his older daughters. In short, he is cheerful and very active, as he should be at his age.

A few days ago, I was combing him and discovered that he had swelling on his neck. I know what it is, an abscess, and know how dangerous it is for the health of anybody. I contacted my vet, a very experienced doctor, and fixed an appointment. At night, the abscess opened, and the pus came out. There’s nothing wrong with that, if all is good, means he’s healing.

By the way, you must always remember if you have to treat an abscess, you need gloves because pus and other secretions can be very dangerous if you don’t know what provoked it.

My task in this case was to wash the wound with a solution prepared by the vet, as he explained to me. The next day, I discovered this poor animal had new holes in his neck. I caught him immediately and ran to the vet again. I thought it could be mange or other terrible illness.

The vet tried to understand what caused this bad reaction. Of all the tests he did, one in particular, under the microscope, showed… no, not mites as I was afraid. Soil, seeds, and fungal spores.

Is it possible that the cat has found a splinter, a needle, that he can play with the plants? The vet asked. Yes, I have a nice collection of cacti that these cats enjoy pulling out of their pots and carrying around the house, so that you can find these needles everywhere, even in your own bottoms. I always wondered how they could play with it, because it’s full of thorns!

I don’t know why, but all the species of animals I had throughout my life hated my plants. Interesting plants are my passion and I always collected rare and interesting specimens. But maybe my pets always believed that since I was so attracted to them, they were a lot of fun as favorite toys.

Here we are: our babies arrived at one month of age, and now I have to think about their new life in other families. Now, I can tell you about their colors. Imagine that we have:

red solid (one female)
red with white (one female and 6 males)
red silver with white (one female and 1 male)
cream solid (one female)
cream with white (one male)

I wanted to show you all the kittens but they do not want to pose. Here are three of them.
I have to say you that they are surely the great joy of my life - specially because there are so many... too many bad moments. So many that I don't want to think about it.

You remember that we decided to buy Maine Coon cats a year ago. But my husband absolutely did not want to hear about castration of the male kitten I bought to be my pet - and we bought other to Maine Coon cats, females.

And now we will have our KITTENS! Maine Coon red and cream kittens, folks!
Could you imagine it?

We control the bellies every minute. The babies kick so gently! My god, what feelings!

My husband when I showed him how to listen to the babies in the belly and he felt them for the first time began to make frrr-frrr-frrr himself! :-)

Our New Maine Coon Family

Maine Coon cats are really my love now. I adore them even if it's completely different experience as with the dogs. In the year I do not write here because for different reasons and because it's much more quickly to post one or more photos in Facebook the situation in our "farm" changed completely. Now, I have parrots, my husband grows mandarina and carolina ducks. And, we have, as said, 2 females and one male Maine Coon. We would like to buy one more female, more white as our Estia, and, I would like to have tiger-color Coon. But it's a dream for today. In autumn we, maybe, will have kittens. If everything is good.

So, now I want to present you my Maine Coon Cats.
We have 1 year and 2 month old male Timur. You have just read about him here.
Timur is my great love. He has excellent character but sometimes wants to show me that HE is the master of this house.

Two females are completely different even if they are sisters. I gave them the names of pagan deities - one, Estia, the Deity of the hearts. She lives in her own world but have always stay not far from me. If she does not see me for some time, she begins to cry and looks for me. Every night she comes to me, makes me massage and than goes to sleep.

The other our Maine Coon female is something terrible. Her name is Furrina - it was one of the most anitque Roman deities, the Deity of the Water, of the sources etc. There is not one incident that she did not find. Now she is jumping on the bookshelf and from there on the bed. She can't stay one minute in one place. She is a mountain brook.

Timur - a Great Warrior

Timur ... did you hear this name? Tarmashirin Khan, Tamerlane... A legendary king in Asia. He was high and had red hairs, by the way.

Now, we have a new member of the family which name is Timur. Timur, the Great Warrior. Here is he, I present you our new child:

This boy has 5 month now and he came to us about a month ago when I turned home from Russia.
I was surprised to see how big was he when I've seen him for the first time. Than, the second surprise was his calm character. From the first minutes he accepted me and the fact he has to travel in the uncertainty. I was afraid about this long trip. We made 2,5 hours in the train, than, we had to go home with the car.

He was so calm that I took him from the cage and...

Now, we wake up with the kisses of the kid which is just ready to play with us. Some days later he was just the main cat in the house. Basja did not want to accept him. Only rain could make her change her mind. Unfortunatelly, they are still not friends. But Timur learns everything from her. How to occupy all the bed, for example... :-)))

Cats are the Best Manipulators

This is very unusual view for the place where I live, in Italy. In fact, the locals do not have such "cat-dependence" as many of us have. Young persons can allow something like this to their cats - as the owner of this cat do. But it's not normal for most of them.

I could not understand these persons which did not take in arms, did not caress a cat in their life. And... they can't understand me, who thinks animals are the same as we are. Different species.

My husband could not take a can in his arms, too. Till, one day, he fall in love with this one:

Now, she can do what she wants. And -believe or not believe- she is always a stray cat.
Interesting is that -even if she was spayed, it seems to us she helps other cats to grow their kittens.
Now, she has about 7 years and it seems, she is the only alive from all their generation. Stray cats do not live more than 2-3 years here...

A New Aviary for my Parrots

All my parrots -except Giove and Hera which have 3 eggs and seem to hatch their babies even if I do not understand the system they use for it- received their new aviary, finally. They have not only grass, soil, air and sun. They have even a pool. There are many "houses" and all kinds of food... They could not believe in their fortune. Some of them did not know to fly...

Now, I understand that some of this birds have problems. All of them, except nymphs, are adult. And I did not think the birds can have "human" problems... The Barnardius zonarius barnardi seemed to be dead: he felt down on the ground and remained there without any move for some seconds. He needed an entire day to turn "normal".Probably, he never lived in free space...

Imagine that some days ago he ate a leave from my hand! He comes near me when I enter inside the aviary. I'm very very touched...

Sheep in the Agrarian Show

We visited one of my favorite agrarian shows where I buy always new kinds of plants and my husband looks for new breeds of hens. There are many different championships in that show but the most important is maybe those of local breeds of cows.

I went in one pavilion where there were plants a year ago. This year, there were sheep. All with newborn lambs.

It was not very pleasant look. Something was happened during the way so that all the sheep gave birth the same night. But it was a sad pavilion. Later, my husband wanted to go there. I remained outside to wait for him. I could not enter once more there. He went out from there after some minutes and was disgusted, too.

There was nothing bad in the event, probably. But it was a sad look for me.

Gratitude of a Humpback Whale

This story I copy it from Facebook. I think, I do not need other words to describe it. And, since I copy it, I hope, the author will not be angry with me.

A female humpback whale had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines. She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat. She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body, her tail, her torso, a line tugging in her mouth.

This is her story of giving gratitude.

A fisherman spotted her just east of the Faralon Islands (outside the Golden Gate) and radioed for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so badly off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her…. a very dangerous proposition.

One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.

They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her.

When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, nudged them, and pushed gently, thanking them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.

Bianca Begins to Fly!

This one is the new fiance of Perla (behind her). I bought her on Feb.10 and they were in the cage till some days ago. Now, since Caruso became too aggressive I decided to change the couples: Caruso with Cannella live now in this little aviary and Perla con Bianca (I decided to call her so for her white color) went in the great aviary. I was sure, the situation will be normal because she is still little and does not think about the family.

Everything was all right with the exception that she was all time walking on the floor of the aviary. With my great surprise I understood: she does not know to fly... Terrible! Probably, she lived all her life in a little cage... And if she does not fly, she will not eat. She is so little and fragile - she will die.

I tried to teach her... But she seemed to have even not all feathers. I was desperate. I have not an other cage for her. And I wanted to see her flying with the other birds. But what can I do? In the evening I've seen her sitting on one of the branches. Oooo!!!! Great! I cried.

Today, I've seen her flying. Not very sure flight but she was flying! It was so beautiful!

How to Make Impression on a Female

Love... You can feel it everywhere in air if you go to visit our ducks. In my previous posts about our Mandarina Ducks, I just wrote that we have 3 males and 3 females. Well, 2 and 2 Mandarina and 1 and 1 Carolina. The Carolina are just a very in love couple, they are always together and even the young Mandarina could not break their relation.

Now, the end of the story about the Mandarina ducks.

The problem was that the Mandarina females both wanted the same male and did not want to know anything about the young we took for them at the place of the old male whom both females did not want at all.

The most bad thing was that the male, prefered the female of the old duck, flirted with the young female as soon as she looked at the new male. We did not know what to do with them.

But the young male was very decided. About a week ago the battles began. It was something incredible. They run and hit themselves for 3 or 4 days. They did not provoke wounds since they used wings and beaks to hit and jumped one on the other. But I was worried, one of them becomes exhousted and the other will drown him. The new, younger male, seemed to be more powerful than the other.

Interesting is that the females rushed between them to divide them. The young female began to follow him after the first day of the battles but he was not convinced of her love...

So, 3 or 4 days after, we decided to put the old couple in an other open-air cage. But when we came there... everything was finished: there were 3 couples near the pond. And the battles finished.

Don Juan remained with the old female and passes all the days to tell her how much he loves her...

And the young male conquered the young female. I do not have the foto because it's raining but as soon as the weather will change, I'll show you the new couple.
