All week we have been taking votes from you, the readers to see who you think is the Best Villain in Dragon Ball Z, now we finally have the results of the poll. There were no special circumstances for the villains to be chosen, it was simply who you thought was the best overall bad guy throughout the series. NUMBER 5: BoJack Bojacks goal is to conquer the universe and destroy all those that stan in his way. According to North Kai, he was sealed by all four Kais in a star, but when Goku teleported the devoluted, ready to explode Cell to North Kai’s planet, killing him and Goku at the same time, the seal broke, allowing Bojack to be free. He was the leader of the Galaxy Soliders. Bojack is a bloodthirsty Hera, having no loyalty to anyone, he was quite the interesting enemy. “It’s been so long… Since I’ve snapped someone’s neck!” NUMBER 4: Buu First thing is first, I want to clarify that this does not cover all forms of Bu this was just for the original Majin Buu. The playful and childish Buu is one of the most powerful villians ever encountered on DBZ, revealing that he destroys things for fun simply due to his old masters instructions, only stopping when told he was wrong by the grand supreme kai’s personality showing in him. “So, do you want to be candy, cookie, or pudding when Buu eats you?” NUMBER 3: Broly Broly is a psychopath with an uncontrollable rage, and is uplifted by the very idea of brining destruction and death to his enemies. He loves nothing more than to destroy things, as shown by his wanton destruction of planets for little more than intimidation. Broly was the first Legendary Super Saiyan in 1000 years. “If you’d just let me kill you all before, you wouldn’t be dealing with this pain now.” NUMBER 2: Cell Cell the ultimate creation of Dr. Gero’s super computer, designed to have all the abilities of the greatest fighters to have ever inhabited or visited earth. Cell’s personality changes drastically as the story progresses, he was known for being quite sophisticated. He is more patient and calculated when it comes to achieving his goals. “You fool! Don’t you realize yet you’re up against the perfect weapons?” NUMBER 1: Frieza Let’s be honest we all knew this was going to be the winner. Frieza relishes death and destruction, as he shows in his enjoyment of Planet Vegeta’s destruction. He is one of the most sadistic characters in the series, and often tries to make his enemies suffer before he kills them. Being the first major battle arc in the Dragon Ball Z series it is of course favorite to all. “There are three things I refuse to tolerate. Cowardice, bad haircuts, and military insurrection. And it is unfortunate that our friend Vegeta possesses all three of these.”

We all have tons of animes that we watch and that we love, we are almost specifically looking at action genre today to do this little article. What characters from which shows would we like to see go at it with each other to see who truly is the top dog of the anime world. It’s a hard question to answer considering each show and character has their own specific traits that make them super powerful and hard to defeat but, we just want to see these battles take place anyway, so here is some battles we would love to see happen. Ichigo(Bleach) vs. Naruto(Naruto) Who would not want to see this battle happen? Ichigo a human with the powers of a shinigami going up against Naruto, the genin with the power of jinchūriki of Kurama. Would we be able to say for sure who would win this fight? Absolutely not, but just the thought of these two going at it gives me goosebumps. It would be cool if the anime directors got together to make more cross-anime shows even if just shorts. Back to the point though, a battle like this would have a huge impact on everything and everyone around them and enough to make every anime fan happy. Edward Elric(FMA) vs Hei(Darker than Black) The full metal alchemist going up against BK201 would certainly be a cool fight. BK201 has the advantage that if he can wrap his wires around you, you are as good as dead, but with the power to change elements that Edward Elric has that would give him a better chance of survival and possible victory. It would again be something that I would truly love to see, but again it’s up to the writers to do a mix. Considering they are both Bones products it is not out of the realm of possibility I guess. Light(Death Note) vs Yuno and Yuki(The Future Diary) A battle that would be quite interesting to see how exactly it would work. Yuno and Yuki have the future diaries that tell the future but light has the death note in which he can write down where, when, and how a person will die. Would their knowledge in the future diary be able to avoid his written word and allow them to escape the fate? If so , this would turn out to be one of the cooler battles of the group just to see how things would pan out. Hatake Kakashi(Naruto) vs Kenshin(Kenshin) A samurai vs a ninja, that age old fabled story that we have seen in the movies and read about in novels. Who would win a battle of this magnitude is unknown but it would be one that all would be interested in just for the sheer fact of the historical background these two sets of warriors have with one another. Vash The Stampede(Trigun) vs Spike (Cowboy Bebop) Space bounty hunter versus the sixty billion double dollar bounty known as Vash the Stampede. Vash does always say that he...

Over the course of the last week we here at AK put up a poll for everyone to partake in asking you what was your favorite anime movie of all-time. We tried to put on this list what we thought you would choose as some of the more influential movies that the anime world had to offer. Of Course, we had quite a few write in votes and I will take the time to put honorable mention on here for those movies not lucky enough to make the list. Let’s get to it shall we? NUMBER 5: Metropolis Kenichi and his detective uncle, Shunsaku Ban, leave Japan to visit Metropolis, in search of the criminal, Dr. Laughton. However, when they finally find Dr. Laughton, Kenichi and his uncle find themselves seperated and submerged into the middle of a larger conspiracy. While Shunsaku searches for Kenichi and answers, Kenichi tries to protect Tima, a mysterious young girl, from Duke Red and his adopted son Rock, both of who have different reasons for wanting to find her. NUMBER 4: Ghost in the Shell In the year 2029, the barriers of our world have been broken down by the net and by cybernetics, but this brings new vulnerability to humans in the form of brain-hacking. When a infamous hacker known as “The Puppetmaster” begins involving them in politics, Section 9, a group of cybernetically enhanced cops, are called to investigate and stop him. The pursuit will call into question what makes a human and what is the Puppetmaster in a world where the distinction between man and machine is increasingly blurry. NUMBER 3: Princess Mononoke While fighting to save his village from the attack of a demon-god, Ashitaka comes in contact with it and is inflicted with a deadly curse. In his search for a cure he is forced to leave his village forever and journey to the forest inhabited by animal gods. There he finds himself in the middle of a war between the forest gods and a village led by Lady Eboshi. NUMBER 2: Spirited Away On their way to their new home, a young girl, Chihiro, and her parents stumble into what appears to be an abandoned theme park. But all is not as it seems, as the theme park is a bath-house for the spirits, and not a place where humans are welcome. Chihiro must fend for herself and rescue her parents, as they have been turned into pigs as punishment for eating food meant for the gods. Honorable Mention Appleseed Growing out of the chaos of global war, the city of Utopia is populated by humans and bioroids(artifical humans). On the surface, everything is harmonious, but tensions lurk. Into this seemingly perfect society comes a survivor of the wars, Deunan Knute, who carries a legacy that will turn out to be of critical importance to the future of humanity. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust Continuing his quest to...

Toonami was one of the greatest things US fans of anime fans had going for them, some of the best shows of the time were played and some of the lesser known shows even got a chance to shine when watching this block of Anime. After eleven years of air time Toonami was finally dissolved by Cartoon Network and we never got a chance to see it again, until April 1st, 2012 when Adult Swim brought our beloved T.O.M back to the airwaves and gave us a little glimmer of hope, that maybe, one day, we will get to see this glorious block of shows again and maybe Anime will finally have the resurrection in the states that it needs. This article is about what we think Toonami needs to do if it ever were to come back in order to stay afloat and bring fans happiness again. ONE: Show Selection Now, as well all know, the original Toonami had some great shows, but if they were to bring it back what exactly are they going to do to keep the Anime populace happy? Do they continue to show all of the old shows to bring a bit of nostalgia back to our lives, or do we try to reinvent a little bit and bring in the new generation of anime for all to see? Well, I think the answer here is they would need to do a mixture of the two. Of course, you can bring in the older fans of Anime by showing DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, etc, but if that is all you are going to play then you will limit your audience to the same line-ups all over again which will drop viewership drastically. There are not a ton of great animes out there today but there is certainly enough variety out there that you could keep people happy whether it is playing, One Piece, Bleach, Naruto Shippuden, Darker Than Black, Death Note, School Rumble, Ouran High School Host Club, etc, there is plenty out there that you can filter around that could keep people happy and make people remember that the anime world is still thriving, it just never had the chance to be shown to the rest of the world how great it is still doing. TWO: SHOWTIMES Here is where things start to get a little bit tricky, before you had the original Toonami which had a afternoon play time that usually hit as soon as you got home from school or work. After a few years they decided to switch it over to a later evening programming block and introduced T.O.M as the host of the show. Finally, the last change came when they moved it to the Saturday night five hour block that came on, it would show all of your favorite shows, but you had to wait all week to see them, also it came on late enough that some of them you may have missed. The...

Yes, you have heard correctly, it has been confirmed that TV Osaka are now airing the re-runs of Bleach. Does this mean that the fans will get what they want and they will end Bleach the way everyone was hoping, or was it just a way to make some quick cash and get some ratings for TV Osaka? Now, I know the first thing that will be said “Didn’t you just recently write an article about Bleach ending to soon?” the simple answer is yes, I did, but now with this new information we have to put the possibility into question. On TV Osaka’s airing schedule they originally had Bleach set to air episode 367 on April 3rd, but obviously April 3rd has passed and we have seen no episode 367. Now as I stated above, is this just a way for TV Osaka’s rating to go up or will they air new episodes of Bleach? Well one thing I do know is that the anime is currently caught up to the manga so at the very least we will have some sort of waiting period whether it be 6 months or it be longer before new episodes will come out either way. I think that my initial post when saying that Rock Lee was just a filler until Bleach is ready hypothesis may be the closest thing to true. Only difference is that it will not air on TV Tokyo any longer. Looking at sales figures Bleach is still one of the top rated Mangas in Japan and the TV show does equally as well. The idea of a movie is looking further and further out of sight and out of mind, but the substitute choice is much better if you ask me. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? I cannot say for sure but by the looks of things this may be a good sign for the people and everyone may get the happy ending that they all deserve. Only time will tell though whether or not this will come to light or not we can only hope so.

This is a discussion that everyone differs on but always ends in a heated debate, calm discussion, or even sometimes the rare fisticuffs are thrown, but let’s take a look at what we here at AK believe to be the 5 Worst Animes of All Time. I will apologize here some of my statements I feel very strongly about so I made get a little emotional and let my temper get the best of me. Now on to the list! NUMBER 5: Kirby: Right Back At Ya! What a wonderful way to ruin a childhood franchise that we had all grown to love. Who in their right mind thought that it would be a good idea to turn a tiny pink blob that eats things into a television series, sure it works as a videoit game because it is simple and ends up being fun to play for it simplicity, but to think that it would work as a television series is just bad judgement. The ratings speak for themselves with this show and everyone can see that nobody was a real fan of this show. Let’s leave Kirby to his video game glory please. NUMBER 4: Super Milk-Chan What exactly was this show about again? It left absolutely no impression on anyone and had no real point. None of the characters made sense, the show had no point or substance, and you couldn’t even understand what these voice actors were saying. The drawing style was atrocious just everything about this show screamed low budget garbage not wortI thh the paper it was drawn on. Just plain horrible. NUMBER 3: Duel Masters Can you say mix between Yu-Gi-Oh and Bakugan? Like we haven’t seen this type of show twenty times already, worse than that, they couldn’t even get it right. After years of shows that have this exact same plot they still couldn’t end up to get it right. How exactly do you excuse yourself from not being able to evolve a product after seeing and hearing all the mistakes that fans pointed out about your competition? I don’t even think I want to say anymore about this show, it makes me sick just thinking about it. NUMBER 2: Tekken: The Motion Picture Another good gaming franchise with a bad anime adaptation. Tekken’s worst quality was the production value of the anime, the story was supposed be serious but it ended up being hilarious. The story starts with Kazuya being thrown off a cliff as a child(maybe not everyone finds this to be funny) it was the way it was done that made it funny. The voice acting was not very good and the animation was sketchy and made it very hard to watch. Unless done by one of the top production companies, I say you leave the video game franchises alone and let them just stay game franchises. NUMBER 1: SD Gundam Force I think everyone agrees on this one, chibi Gundam? Now, I will say it wasn’t exactly...
