However, these small steps to improve environmental quality in the United States leave room for the U.S. to improve. If it wants to be seen as a global leader, let's work on leading in this capacity as well. Click here to see how the U.S. and other countries ranked in the Yale 2006 Environmental Performance Index. It wasn't as bad as I expected, but I know we can do better. And each of us can help by doing our part to reduce, reuse, and recycle.* *Note recycling is the last step after reducing and reusing.

CEOs: Reduce your own salary

I've done some studying about non-profits and one of the challenges is bringing in qualified directors as non-profits rarely have the funds to pay salaries on par with for-profit executive salaries. It's also unlikely that donors would look favorably on a non-profit spending millions on an executive salary when the money could be going to create outcomes.

Well, this Reuter's article states that even CEOs think they earn too much! Well, then in the spirit of the season, I challenge overpaid CEOs to cut their own salaries and divide the cut into bonuses for their most underpaid/under appreciated staff members. What a Christmas gift that would be!

Read the Reuter's article here.

"Hidden Tech"

I really liked Amy Zuckerman's observations about virtual workers are, the heightened importance of communication in virtual work - knowing when to use email, phone, or face-to-face communication, and the importance of health insurance for those new to virtual working.

Check it out:
http://www.cnn.com/2007/LIVING/12/14/hidden.tech/
