Chicken Fettucini Alfredo

2011-01-30T19:48:00.000-08:00

Aaron and I were starving around dinner tonight with an empty cupboard and fridge. So what did we do? Blew $100 at the grocery store; how is this sooo easy to do? Its doesn't seem like that much when it is in your cart. Anyways....we bought food so I could make Chicken Fettucini Alfredo. And boy was it gooooood! I will tell you how I made it.

Ingredients:

1 box of fettucini noodles
1 12 oz jar of Ragu fettucini sauce
parmesan cheese (grated or shredded)
Spinach (optional) **could add to Alfredo sauce after cooked in vegetable oil in small pan.
milk
2 frozen chicken breast
Frozen Garlic Bread
salt and pepper
vegetable oil

Utensils:

Pasta Pot
Frying pan
Small Sauce pan
Tongs
Baking Sheet
3 burners and an oven

Preparation 30 minutes:

Thaw chicken two hours prior.
Preheat oven for garlic bread.
Sauce- Put the whole jar of Ragu in the saucepan. Cover the top of the sauce with a layer of parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. You want the pepper to almost completely cover the sauce with a few white specks in view. Stir the sauce so the ingredients are distributed. Set sauce aside.
Begin to cook chicken in frying pan in vegetable oil with salt and pepper for seasoning.
Boil water for fettucini.
When water is boiling add noodles.
Pop the garlic bread into the oven.
Put the Sauce on the burner at medium high heat.
When Chicken is fully cooked take off heat and slice at an angle.
When noodles are cooked turn off burner; do not strain.
Take out garlic bread from oven and turn off oven.
Turn off the burner that sauce is on.
Use tongs to get a scoop of noodles into the saucepan. Leave in the sauce for a few seconds to allow sticking. Take noodles out of saucepan and put on a plate. Place 4 slices of chicken over bed of noodles and put a spoonful of sauce over the chicken. Cut bread and serve. Repeat serves 4.

I cant believe that we are actually going on such a cool trip! It is going to be so relaxing and peaceful. 6 nights in PARADISE!

Naps

2011-01-25T22:39:00.000-08:00

Today was a great day! On Tuesdays I usually have class until 3:30pm but my last three classes were conveniently ALL canceled today. So what did I do with my hours off? I wish I could say that I did something productive...but I took a 5 hour nap! AHH I know that seems crazy; but when you stay up until 2 or 3 every night because of homework or studying, sleep is easily put on the back burner. Your whole life you hear everyone telling you "8 hours a night," but nobody I know in college can really ever fit that into their schedule, its next to impossible. Just sleep when you can, naps are key to staying on track. Not every nap is going to be 5 hours, but at least 20-30 minutes a day is a great refresher! Check out this link if you don't believe me!!

Summer Heights High

2011-01-23T21:25:00.000-08:00

"Angry Boys"- Chris Lilley

My boyfriend and I were watching Summer Heights High tonight. I ABSOLUTELY love this show. My whole family, except me because I was in College, lived in Australia for 6 months. When I went over there to visit in 2007 SHH was just debuted on Foxtel over there. It took the show 2 years to come to the U.S. on HBO but I watched it in Aussie on cable! I showed all of my friends it and they all loved it too. We felt slightly "cool" when it came over to the states because we were already wayy ahead of the trend! Anyway, Chris Lilley (the creator of SHH), is coming out with a new series called "Angry Boys" it it supposed to premiere in early 2011. It is another mockumentary based on young boys and the shenanigans that they get into. I wish I knew more about this series but there doesn't seem to be too much information about it online. Anyone else hear anything about when it is coming here or more about the plot! I am ready and waiting for a new genius Lilley creation!!

Spring Break 2011

2011-01-23T13:56:00.000-08:00

Hey Guys-

My boyfriend, one other couple, and I are trying to figure out where to go for Spring Break this year! Our options are kind of limited because I am the only one with a passport so we have to stay in the U.S. This year I was looking at Puerto Rico as an option, since it is a US Territory; Hawaii seems to be a great place to go too. It will all come down to price and amenities.
Last year I went with 5 of my girlfriends to Daytona Beach, Florida. Let me just say it was not very relaxing vacation ;) It was just one giant party with 700 other College students in our Hotel. This year I am looking more at a calm/relaxing vacation. Any Suggestions?

Jersey Shore-licious

2011-01-22T12:25:00.000-08:00

**Snooki Falling on the Beach on the "Shore"

I am not sure why but I LOVE watching "Jersey Shore." There is just something about all of their drinking and drama that really keeps me locked in. I just saw last weeks episode when Snooki just gets a little too drunk and falls on her face at the beach. I can't believe that they actually arrested that cute little meatball! From one little meatball to another....Peace!

New Semester Under Way

2011-01-21T20:39:00.000-08:00

I just finished my second week of this Spring Semester today and so far so good. I had a job opportunity today but unfortunately I was too late to the punch. My Business Advisor always emails the Business students when an outside business person is inquiring any and all help from students with anything. Today a Real Estate Broker from Lower Michigan was in need of some help from one of the students. He has a client who lives in my town who needed to relocate to a different commercial unit and he wanted someone who was local to be his "eyes and ears" since he lives 10 hours away. I was sooo excited when I read this. I immediately responded positively and I believed that I would be so good for this task. I have 5 years in the apartment management and rental business with two of the years being at a professional level; including many ties to commercial property owners. With my experience I know that I would be able to deliver top notch performance for the Real Estate Broker. Unfortunately two hours later my advisor emailed me back and said these three words "Position is filled." I actually felt pretty defeated and down on myself for the rest of the day!

This experience did teach me a great lesson though. I need to be quicker to the punch and I cannot let refusal get be down. There will be many experiences in my life when I will be beat out by someone else but I just need to keep positive and I will get the next one!! :)

Frozen Tundra

2011-01-21T11:33:00.000-08:00

**A Picture of the Winter where I live

It is -5 degrees outside today and there was about 6 inches of snow on my car when I went to hop in it. It is the worst thing in the entire world when you get out of your nice warm bed and then you have to go and sit in your freezing car and let it warm up. Ya sure you could be saying well just start it and run back inside to warm up...but you have to understand the air outside is wayy colder than inside of my car so I am better off just shivering in my car for 10 minutes with the cold air from the defrost blowing around the car. I am not sure why, but everytime I get into a cold car I pretend like heat vents are going to blow out hot-tub temperature air...it never does and I know it shouldnt. It must me my optimistic attitude that I have right in the morning ;) NOT.
Maybe I should invest in an automatic starter?!
