A SHOCKING anti-smoking campaign showing a cancerous tumour growing out of a cigarette has been launched. The stomach-churning image features on billboards, online and in TV ads rolled out across the UK today. Health chiefs hope the hard-hitting campaign, which cost taxpayers £2.7 million, will convince smokers to make kicking tobacco their New Year's resolution. Whilst I personally applaud this initiative others have written " I find these advert quite offensive . i also find the covering up of cigarette booths offensive ,the smoking outside pubs a disgrace to our human rights. .why don't they put some one getting battered on a tin of cider . a teenager having there guts pumped out in a hospital , or a father beating the crap out of the mother on a bottle of whiskey .i have never ever seen anyone get violent smoking a cigarette .yet i would imagine drinkers cost the NHS more money than smokers ever have."

A "GENTLE" church-going pensioner has died after being brutally attacked on his way to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. Father-of-four Alan Greaves, 68, from Sheffield, was clubbed to the ground as he headed to his local church where he was due to play the organ. He was found on the pavement by a pizza delivery driver and was rushed to hospital. Last night Mr Greaves died from "significant" head injuries following a four-hour operation in the city’s Northern General Hospital. Some correspondents have called the perpetrators scum yet others wrote Alan would have been so distressed to read comments like these. He was a pacifist, a Christian and believed in forgiveness and understanding. He was completely against the death penalty and I hope those of you who have used this article to put forward your sickening views will find it somewhere in yourselves to feel some shame at coupling his name with your own personal hatred

In the UK binge Drinking is back in the news as plans for a 45p minimum price on booze could be ditched. Ministers are looking at alternatives such as higher duty on the strong beers and lagers most closely linked to binge drinking. It comes just weeks after the Home Office unveiled controversial plans for a 45p per unit minimum price on alcohol. Half the Cabinet — including Education Secretary Michael Gove, Home Secretary Theresa May and Communities Secretary Eric Pickles — feel the move would clobber millions of responsible drinkers. Benefit rises could be capped for SIX years. Senior Tory sources have indicated they will go into the next election pledging to maintain the policy Chancellor George Osborne announced last month. The Sun provided images of grossly obese ladies in the buff for the sake of art. Italian photographer Yossi Loloi, 36, captured them for his FullBeauty project, aimed at turning the notion of beauty and form, fashion and attraction on its head. Each woman weighs at least 30st and hides nothing from the intrusive glare of the lens.
