Here's a round-up of new restaurants that have recently opened in Orlando!

Pinstripes Orlando. Pinstripes’ elevated menu of made-from-scratch recipes, conceptualized by Chief Culinary Officer Cesar Gutierrez and Executive Chef Douglas Geraghty, features house-made Italian-American classics, including rotating seasonal specialties prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Menu highlights include wood-fired pizzas and flatbreads, like the Prosciutto Fig ($20) with Gorgonzola-mascarpone spread, Fontinella and truffle arugula; delectable sandwiches, such as the Famous Prime Rib Dip ($21) with provolone cheese, horseradish cream and au jus nestled between a pretzel bun or the Cowboy Burger ($20) with applewood smoked bacon, onion rings, calabrese sauce, balsamic BBQ, jalapeno, housemade pickles, sharp cheddar; and remarkable chef entrées such as the Chicken Parmesan ($27) with all natural cage free chicken, served with fettuccine pasta, peppercorn cream sauce, fresh mozzarella served over Italian San Marzano tomato marinara or Char-Grilled Rib-Eye ($38) with hand-cut certified angus beef, three cheese polenta, grilled asparagus, roasted shallot, bordelaise sauce.

Guests can satisfy their sweet tooth after a delicious meal with a selection of dreamy desserts, including a seasonal array of homemade Italian gelato or the brand’s Classic Tiramisu ($11), served with whipped mascarpone, ladyfingers and La Colombe coffee.

Pinstripes Orlando will offer its famous Pintastic Weekend Brunch Buffet every Saturday and Sunday ($35 for adults; $15 for kids 6-12 years old; kids 5 and under eat free) featuring sweet and savory culinary delights, including a signature waffle station; a made-to-order omelet station; a carving station featuring prime cuts of Maple-Glazed Ham and Herb-Crusted Prime Rib; and additional breakfast selections, including Chicken and Goat Cheese Pasta and Herb-Roasted Chicken; and a sweets table everyone can enjoy featuring Milk Chocolate Fondue with an assortment of dippables, including Fresh Strawberries, Rice Krispies, Marshmallows and more. On both days, guests can also enjoy bottomless mimosas and Aperol spritzes.

Pinstripes’ delectable plates pair perfectly with its thoughtfully selected wine list, craft beer selection and handcrafted cocktails. Guests can sip on decedent signature cocktails, including a Blueberry Mash ($16), made with stoli blueberi, st. germain liqueur, blueberries, fresh mint, fresh limes, splash of soda, and a Limoncello Martini ($16), made with Meletti limoncello, Grand Marnier fresh lemon, citrus sour mix and a lemon twist.

Pinstripes Orlando is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Happy hour is available Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and brunch is available every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For those looking to extend Pinstripes’ culinary experience, off-site catering is also available.

The long-awaited Voodoo Bayou has quietly opened in Orlando (7525 W Sand Lake Rd, 32819). Chef Justin, who was previously with Park Plaza Gardens in Winter Park and Terralina Crafted Italian in Winter Park, is the new head chef. As someone born and raised in Louisiana, I can't wait to try some dishes from the menu soon.

Three new eateries opened at ICON Park recently. Guests can now enjoy easy, quick street foods – including crunchy Korean fried chicken, tender sliced Lebanese shawarma, hand-crafted bubble waffles and meticulously sourced boba teas – while they stroll through the 20-acre ICON Park or relax on The Lawn to live music. The three new concepts will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

EVOO: Fresh Mediterranean Kitchen (ICON Park): This Central-Florida-based concept is known for creating Lebanese fast-casual dining with traditional cooking methods and fresh, whole foods – and is famous for its tender shawarma and a full range of vegetarian dishes. The ICON Park location features savory falafel, succulent grilled meats, and rich dips like hummus and baba ganoush, allowing guests to indulge in healthy food that’s full of flavor.

The Bone: Korean Fried Chicken Concept (ICON Park): Crispy, crunchy Korean fried chicken has taken the world by storm, with its extra-crispy exterior and flavorful seasonings. The Bone specializes in numerous Korean fried chicken recipes, and Korean street food favorites including Korean Ramen, Spicy Rice Cakes and more. Signature dishes include their soy garlic wings and traditional gochujang-infused glazed wings.

The Winnie Tea Bar – Boba Teas & Mochi Donuts (ICON Park): Boba Teas have become all the rage, and for good reason. The Winnie Tea Bar creates a unique twist on the traditional boba tea experience. It serves an exclusive selection of artisanal, handcrafted boba teas with premium ingredients and carefully sourced tea leaves – from classic flavors to inventive new creations. Each drink is meticulously prepared to ensure a perfect balance of taste, texture, and visual appeal. For a double dose of sweetness, try one of their delicious mochi donuts with a tea.

El Cilantrillo Restaurant: Old Town, Central Florida’s iconic walking district of shops, food, entertainment, Classic Car Cruises and specialty events, welcomes El Cilantrillo Restaurant, Central Florida’s largest Puerto Rican restaurant group, now open in the North Plaza of the famed entertainment district. The 7,300-square-foot restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating for up to 450 guests, including a private meeting and party area for up to 50 people, the largest patio in El Cilantrillo’s history with a stage for live music performances, weekend valet parking and a stylish chic bar with patio views to enjoy tropical adult beverages. The restaurant site also features a mini shop with a curated collection of Puerto Rican products.

New menu items debuting at El Cilantrillo Old Town include Croquetas de Mamposteao (rice and beans croquettes), Ribeye & Tomahawk Steak Bone-in, Penne Pasta with Chicken or Shrimp and Malanga Nachos (taro chips nachos). Other popular El Cilantrillo featured menu items include El Afrentao, a huge fiesta of island delicacies including creole-style beef, chicken, seafood, rice and plantains; El Esmayao, the ultimate Puerto Rican appetizer platter with the most popular island finger foods; El Parrandάn, a feast of traditional Puerto Rican Christmas foods; and Stuffed Mofongos Cilantrillo Style, an island “volcano” made of seasoned mashed plantains overflowing with Puerto Rican-style seafood, beef or chicken.

Italian at Enzo’s Hideaway

For mothers who are fascinated by secret speakeasies and the Prohibition era, lunch or dinner at Enzo’s Hideaway would be the perfect Mother’s Day surprise. Stadium Club at Caribe Royale Orlando: Caribe Royale Orlando Resort will very soon open the one-of-a-kind, sports-themed Stadium Club. The city’s most high-tech and immersive experiential sports entertainment destination, Stadium Club will seamlessly blend the exhilaration of sports with the allure of high-energy entertainment, creating a fun atmosphere for fans of all ages. Guests can test their skills on pro-level sports simulators, featuring 12 interactive games, and enjoy an exquisite menu pushing traditional sports bar offerings to new heights, helmed by star-studded chefs Janine Booth and Jeff McInnis.

The Grove at Caribe Royale Orlando: In late 2023, Caribe Royale Orlando debuted a purpose-built, outdoor event space aptly called The Grove. Free activities for kids and up to $80 in BOGOs for Dezerland’s indoor attractions at annual family expo

Start the new year off right with a day full of family fun at the annual FamilyFest Orlando. The parenting expo will be more fun than ever for the whole family because it’s being hosted at Florida’s largest indoor attraction, Dezerland Park.

FamilyFest Orlando will take place at Dezerland on Saturday, January 27 from noon to 6 p.m. The annual event features dozens of displays with family resources promoting helpful parenting goods and services, along with the latest “mompreneur” products.

Attendees can check out a special exhibit from the Orlando Science Center, or take part in The Diaper Derby, a “crawling race” for babies 12 months and younger, a very popular tradition for all FamilyFest events, or the Toddler Derby, a walking or running race for toddlers 12 to 24 months. Other activities include corn hole, dance lessons, giant Jenga and the chance to win prizes like a bowling birthday party, a three-month family membership to the YMCA of Central Florida and more.

All adult FamilyFest attendees will receive an $80 value BOGO redemption card that can be used at Dezerland’s attractions including Jumpstart trampoline park, the Orlando Auto Museum and more.

Dezerland’s attractions are the perfect way to keep the family fun going after visiting the expo. This holiday season, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin will offer a full slate of new yuletide offerings as well as festive favorites returning to Santa’s Favorite Resort on select nights.

This year’s holiday season celebration includes:

NEW – Elf Outpost
Santa’s elves have set up shop at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin – and they’re happy to show you around! Join Santa’s elves for a tour of their Elf Outpost, including the toy workshop and bakery, where guests can enjoy complimentary cookie decorating. The fully stocked toy workshop will also offer crafts and toys for purchase.

NEW – Tales from the North Pole
There’s no better way to drift off to visions of sugar plums than with a bedtime story – and Santa’s elves know just the one! Twice nightly, the elves will treat guests to milk and cookies, and a special reading of the Christmas classic, “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” wishing a Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. Families will also receive their own book to take home. (Paid experience.)

Santa and Mrs. Claus Meet and Greets
Santa, Mrs. Claus and Kandy Kane, decked out in their favorite Florida vacation attire, will meet guests in Santa’s customized Tiki hut on select nights Nov - Dec. This unique holiday photo opportunity is filled with Florida flair featuring reindeer, palm trees, flamingos and holiday cheer.

Life-Size Chocolate Holiday Santa Scene
Constructed entirely of chocolate, this life-size sculpture weighs approximately 2,000 pounds! The sculpture is showcased in the lobby of the Swan. It features chocolate Santa sitting in his chair; a 7-foot-tall, 400-pound chocolate nutcracker; chocolate fireplace; chocolate Christmas tree; and chocolate toy train. The scene will be displayed in the lobby of the resort throughout December and is 100 percent edible. However, any chocolate lovers thinking of taking on the challenge of consuming this enormous sweet should consider that it is 4 million calories! (And unfortunately, the sculpture is not available for tasting.)

Magic Keys for Santa on Christmas Eve
How will Santa deliver presents to each guest room without a chimney? With a magic key of course! Children can hang a magic key on their door to help Santa find his way on Christmas Eve. Magic keys are available on Dec. 24 at the concierge desk.

Dancing Lights Show
A dazzling musical light show transforms the outdoor causeway each evening into a holiday spectacle with dancing illuminated palm trees and favorite holiday tunes. The performances occur regularly from sunset through 10 p.m.

Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
For even more holiday cheer, guests can walk to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for “Jollywood Nights” on select nights between November 11 and December 20. The 20-acre ICON Park will transform into a holiday wonderland from December 1 to December 31 with the arrival of the I-Drive District’s 50-foot decorated tree, nightly snowfall, Santa Workshop Experience, The Wheel’s holiday light and music show, carolers – and, of course, Santa himself.

Snow & Carolers on The Lawn

Guests can enjoy the magic and wonder of a snowy holiday season, right on I-Drive. Every night from 7 to 8 p.m., eight snow machines will create flurries that blanket ICON Park’s central gathering place, The Lawn. Snowfall is nightly from Dec. 1 to Dec. 25.

Live carolers will also sing holiday favorites from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Saturday evening in December, and each night from Dec. 23 to 25.

Holiday Light Show on The Wheel

The Wheel at ICON Park is getting into the holiday spirit with the return of the popular holiday light show. Gather on The Lawn and watch as The Wheel’s 64,000 LED lights dance to a seasonal soundtrack during a 10-minute production.

Starting Dec. 1, the show will run:

• Monday – Thursday at 8 p.m.

• Friday – Sunday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

International Drive’s Official Holiday Tree Lighting – from the I-Drive Business Improvement District

The most iconic holiday tree on International Drive returns. On Dec. 1 at 6 p.m., an exciting ceremony will celebrate the lighting of the I-Drive District’s 50-foot holiday tree, decorated from top to bottom. Local celebrities will gather to flip the switch that will make lights dance on the beautiful tree and its backdrop, The Wheel at ICON Park.

The event will feature performances from Dr. Phillips High School Dance in Motion Company, the velvety vocals from the Master of Ceremonies Mr. Jonathan McFadden, and visits from festive friends like Santa’s Elves and The Grinch.

Museum of Illusions

To truly immerse guests in the magic of the holidays, Museum of Illusions Orlando will transform its mind-bending exhibits with festive overlays.

Maker Faire Orlando is a non-profit, community-organized, celebration featuring local do-it-yourself science, art, rockets, robots, crafts, technology, music, and hands-on activities. The family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness returns Nov. 4-5, 2023 where people show what they are making and share what they are learning at the 11th annual event to be held at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.

Individuals behind the exhibits are known as ‘makers’ and range from tech enthusiasts to crafters and scientists to garage tinkerers of all ages and backgrounds. The two-day event is expected to draw 15,000 attendees and includes 200+ exhibits, Power Racing, Combat Robots, Nerdy Derby, cosplay makers, and much more on display throughout three air-conditioned exhibit halls, as well as green spaces filled with hands-on activities, workshops, and competitions.

A Culinary Journey at Terralina Crafted Italian

As a food enthusiast and social media influencer, one of the greatest joys of my "job" is the opportunity to explore the diverse world of cuisine. Recently, I was invited to Terralina Crafted Italian, a Levy-owned restaurant at Disney Springs that promised a true Italian dining experience. From the moment I walked through its doors, I was transported to the heart of Italy, and it's safe to say that I was not disappointed.

My culinary adventure at Terralina began with a delectable dish that left a lasting impression. The mozzarella stuffed rice balls were a delightful start to the evening, with a crispy outer layer giving way to the gooey, cheesy goodness inside. It was a taste of Italy that set the tone for the rest of the evening. (Note: these appetizer is not GF, but other GF options are available on the Antipasti menu.)

For my main course, I opted for the gluten-free Chicken Parmesan. It's not often that you find gluten-free versions of classic Italian dishes that taste as authentic as the original, but Terralina nailed it. The chicken was perfectly grilled (instead of breaded) and cooked to perfection; and the rich, flavorful sauce (served on top of gluten free pasta) was a testament to their commitment to using quality, fresh ingredients.

Dessert was a sweet, memorable ending to my meal. The Panna Cotta was a revelation – silky smooth and topped with a berry medley that added a delightful tartness to balance the sweetness. It was the perfect conclusion to an Italian feast.

What's Italian cuisine without a good glass of wine? Terralina has an extensive wine list, which also includes four wine flights. I opted for the "Crisp" wine flight that includes three different white wines, each carefully selected to complement the dishes on their menu. The flight was a fantastic way to explore the world of Italian wines and enhance the flavors of my meal.

In conclusion, my visit to Terralina Crafted Italian was nothing short of a culinary journey through Italy. From the first bite to the last sip, the experience was filled with authentic flavors and warm hospitality. If you're in the mood for Italian cuisine that's made with love and attention to detail, Terralina is a must-visit. I can't wait to return and savor more of their delicious offerings! Buon appetito!

A Holiday Soiree, Holiday VIP Tours and Holiday Dessert Parties highlight a season-long series of fundraising experiences that will make wishes possible while giving the public a rare glimpse inside Give Kids The World Village – an 89-acre, whimsical nonprofit resort in Kissimmee, FL, that provides critically ill children and their families from around the world with magical week-long wish vacations at no cost. The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel has released the menu for the 14th year of its Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic, taking place Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11. The menu lineup of more than 20 items includes delectable new dishes and beloved festival favorites from the hotel’s resident restaurants and lounges, and festival-exclusive pop-ups.

Over the course of the two-night event, guests will explore a wide range of cuisines with Mexican, Italian, sushi, steak, seafood and barbeque all available throughout the event’s food stations, with different menus each night.

Enjoy Magical Dining at Taverna Opa

Visit Orlando's Magical Dining, a culinary extravaganza that allows locals and tourists alike to explore the diverse flavors of the city, is happening now; and I've been making my way around the city to enjoy as many experiences as possible.

Last night, I embarked on a gastronomic adventure at Taverna Opa, a Mediterranean restaurant nestled on the second floor at Pointe Orlando. With a three-course menu ($40) that promised to tantalize my taste buds, I was eager to dive into a world of flavors. Join me as I recount my delightful journey through saganaki, filet mignon, and Greek yogurt -- plus the additional complementing wine flight that elevated the entire experience.

Savoring Saganaki: My magical dining experience began with a burst of flavor (and fire!) – the saganaki. This traditional Greek dish, featuring pan-seared kefalograviera cheese flambéed with brandy, arrived at our table with a sizzling spectacle. The combination of crispy cheese and a hint of citrus from the lemon garnish was nothing short of extraordinary. It set the perfect tone for the culinary voyage that awaited.
Filet Mignon Perfection: For the main course, I opted for the filet mignon. Cooked to perfection, the tender cut of beef was accompanied by a medley of green beans and lemon potatoes. Each bite was a symphony of flavors and the impeccable execution of this dish left me thoroughly impressed.
Sweet Indulgence – Greek Yogurt with Walnuts and Honey: As the evening progressed, I was treated to a sweet ending with a classic Greek dessert – yogurt with walnuts and honey. (I want to note that this dessert was not on the Magical Dining menu, but since I follow a gluten free diet, a substitution was made.) Creamy Greek yogurt, drizzled generously with golden honey and sprinkled with crunchy walnuts, created a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. It was a delightful reminder of the rich culinary heritage that Taverna Opa proudly embraces.
Enhancing the Experience – The Wine Flight: To elevate my dining experience further, I decided to add a wine flight for just $18 (Gala Estate Moschofilero, Gain Estate Agiorgitiko and Greek Dessert Wine). This selection of three wines complemented each course perfectly, enhancing the flavors and creating a well-rounded dining experience. The wine flight allowed me to explore a variety of flavors that paired seamlessly with the Mediterranean cuisine.

One of Central Florida’s most beloved traditions, Festival of Trees, signals the arrival of the holiday season and returns to spread joy and cheer from November 11-19, 2023.

Presented by the Council of 101, this year’s event celebrates the magic and memories of the holiday season with its new theme, “Enchanted Holidays.”

As guests make their way through the museum, they’ll be transported to a world of enchanted elegance and magical wonder as they take in the sites around them. Festival of Trees: “Enchanted Holidays” honors the magic created when the Central Florida Community comes together to support one another and the Orlando Museum of Art.

“Festival of Trees has become part of the fabric of the holidays in Central Florida,” said Lisa Sheppard, President of the Council of 101. “We are thankful to be a part of the annual traditions for many people in the community. We hope to spread joy while supporting the good cause of the arts and education at the Orlando Museum of Art.”

During Festival of Trees, visitors can see more than 40 designer-inspired decorated trees, all available for purchase, as well as exceptional gingerbread houses, wreaths and more. There will be a holiday shopping experience, as well as a raffle including holiday table settings and live entertainment.

A variety of special events, including Breakfast with Santa, The Ugly Sweater Fun Day and a children’s Reindeer Romp party will add a special holiday touch to this year’s Festival of Trees. The event will continue its annual Salute to Seniors and new this year, a day to recognize active and retired military members.

Events presented by Council of 101, including Festival of Trees, have raised more than $14 million over the years, benefiting the Orlando Museum of Art’s educational and life-long learning programs. These programs reach deep into the community by helping many that are from different walks of life, ages, and income groups.
