Unfortunately right now, that's basically what I'm doing. Charging in my car and at home, and anywhere else I go. Until I get a better battery, that's the way things will be.

Good luck with that. Unless you are sitting near an electrical outlet ALL day, be sure to get a spare battery or two.

Good Luck Tim. I am doing this with my iPhone now and have been doing so for the past several months. I do 90% of what I do on my iPhone. The only time I need my Desktop is when I get an email with a large attachment that is too large for my iPhone or in a CADD format that the phone can not handle. You can do this you just have to break some old habits and start thinking differently. Good Luck and I will be looking forward to seeing your progress.

Absolutely. My hope is that this challenge will force me to find flaws in the apps and webOS so that developers can make some changes.

If someone actually built my ideas, that would be awesome.

Great post. I think the best thing about your "project" is that there are a few app ideas that where born because of the missing PC where you can get to make some little things. Maybe its because there is no app for the mobile phone and you don't think about to search for one or look if one exsists, because you have the PC.
So keep on your project! Maybe i find some nice ideas that i can code therefore :)

I was actually think about tracking battery usage pretty extensively as well and seeing how different apps use resources. No doubt by the end of this month I'll have some of the most efficient, resourceful apps that you can find. I'll be sure to do some comparisons.

That's a good idea, but it sort of defeats the purpose of the experiment. I want to do this so that developers can get feedback from someone who uses their app extensively, and not just once or twice a month.

Plus, if I started letting my guest bloggers review apps, this site would turn into another PreCentral, and that's not necessarily what I want to do.

I don't think developers much mind this either, since I've already received a donation from a dev to buy their app and do a review.

Yea, the comment thing is a bit annoying. I'll contact Disqus and see if it's on their end and fixable.

what I'l probably do instead of straight up doing comparison posts right away is do a separate review for each app and then linking them to each other. Aftter I get a few I'll start doing comparisons within the separate reviews.

This is good; and you really should be able to do just fine. I was in this position with a Palm Treo 650 years ago (doing web design and had a PC for those moments) and got along just fine... so fine in fact that nearly 5 years later I still am mobile-mainly. I use a Nokia N97 these days since I can do a good bit more, but would totally like to see and hear more of your successes with the Palm Pre.

I love my Palm Pre. I understand the Google and Apple have all the clout and Palm can't get a fair break, but I just think that if people gave the Pre a shot, then they would love it.

App comparisons would be good, it will be interesting to see if when you have issues with your challenge if there is an app that can help overcome it.

I'm also getting the same bug on the mobile site btw.

For the todo list app you might want to try Done! for Toodledo http://forums.precentral.net/tiger-country-soft... not sure about image support though.

I have a suggestion for your app reviews. When there is more than one app designed to do the same thing, can you do a post comparing them? Twitter apps and feed readers come to mind for something like this, but I'm sure there're others as well.

Also, for some reason, as I try to comment on the mobile version of this page, every time I start typing, it scrolls my view to the top of the page. So I can't watch myself type; I have to scroll down and proofread. The skip to comments button doesn't work, either. Two things that are kind of annoying and I figured weren't intentional. Just a heads up.

May I suggest your experience around Preware as a topic to share. I have not investigated it due to a concern that it might be a pain or time-consuming to upgrade the OS, etc.
