The above Galaxy on Fire 2 (GOF2) iPad HD video review takes introduces you to some of the general gameplay features of GOF2. Oh yeah, it also features a live firefight with some GOF2 pirates!

I discovered this games recently and am completely immersed. I am not even the type of person that generally gets into space shooter games but this game has some additional features that I really look for in a lot of the games I play.

Generally, I play adventure, strategy and simulation games and GOF2 has a lot of elements from those types of games such as:

1. Lots and lots of great equipment upgrades as you advance
2. A huge world, galaxy actually, to explore
3. More missions than you can possibly ever complete
4. Incredible graphics

This is, graphically, the best game I have played to date for the iPad and blows away many console and computer game graphics.

Be careful! GOF2 is super addicting and you’ll find yourself saying, “just one more mission” only to realize you said that 3 hours ago.

I bought the expansion pack add-ons for GOF2 for two reasons:

1. I was too addicted not to
2. I felt guilty playing such an incredible game for free without paying any money to the talented developers

How can Verizon users block a phone number from calling and texting their iPhone or Android mobile phone?

You can block nubmers using the Verzon website!

Unfortunately, there is no way to block a number directly on the iPhone without first jailbreaking the phone. It seems logical that there would be a way to block a particular phone number directly through your iPhone contacts but, unfortunately, it just isn’t an option.

If you have a jailbroken iPhone, however, you can just install iBlacklist – available in the Cydia store.

For Verizon iPhone users who do not wish to jailbreak their phone, you can block up to 5 different phone numbers from texting or calling for free with your standard Verizon service plan.

In order to block a number on your iPhone or Android, log into the Verizon website and then follow the steps in the above video to block up to 5 phone numbers of your choice.

It is always fun to take a look at global internet usage statistics to compare and contrast different internet prices, speeds and adoption rates between countries.

You may remember an infographic I posted last year regarding online population growth statistics which discussed the countries with the highest and lowest rates of internet adoption growth.

The infographic below (published by InternetService.net) contains a number of similar statistics as well as additional statistics related to global internet usage in 2013.

Americans are often surprised how we rank compared to the rest of the world when it comes to internet speed, cost an adoption – the US is not at the top of any of those lists.

Global Internet Usage Statistics 2013 Infographic Highlights:

1. 44.8% of the world’s internet users are located in Asia.
2. 21.5% of the world’s internet users are located in Europe.
3. 11.4% of the world’s internet users are located in North America.
4. South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong are the 3 countries with the fastest average internet speed in the world (the US is 12th).
5. Hong Kong, Tokyo and San Francisco are the top 3 cheapest cities in world when it comes to purchasing a 200mpbs internet connection.
6. The top 3 countries in the world when it comes to fast and cheap internet service are South Korea, Finland and Sweden.
7. In Finland, it is a constitutional right to have access to broadband internet.
8. 94% of the people in South Korea have access to a high speed internet connection.

A new LinkedIn iPhone app update and redesign was recently released that focuses on putting news stories and updates front and center.

In my opinion, LinkedIn has always had one of the more “slick” social media mobile apps and this update is even more of an improvement.

One aspect of the update that some users may not be too happy about is the fact that LinkedIn now plans to advertise in the update feed of iPhone users. iPad users started to see advertisements this January and now it appears that all LinkedIn users will be forced to sift through ads in the newsfeed.

LinkedIn defends their decision to fully monetize their platform by saying that it will allow them to bring more consistent and high quality updates to their users.

Android users also received the same update to the LinkedIn mobile app.
